The following day turned out to be quite challenging for Soobin as his mother persistently insisted on knowing more about the guy he was on a date with and expressed a strong desire to meet him. Every opportunity she got, she would bring up the topic. This topic seemed to consume her thoughts as she would bring it up in every conversation she had with Soobin.

The situation was getting even worse, Beomgyu had become relentless in his attempts to call and constantly discuss with Soobin about ways to separate Yeonjun and Kara. Frankly, Soobin was beginning to feel increasingly irritated by the number of times Beomgyu would give him ideas on how to break the couple apart. Deep down, Soobin couldn't bring himself to acknowledge it, but he was secretly starting to believe that perhaps Yeonjun wasn't such a terrible match for Kara after all.

Taehyun also tried to reason with Beomgyu and encourage him to let go of Kara, but Beomgyu remained stubborn and refused to heed his advice. Love just makes you dumb.

As Soobin slowly opened his eyes and groggily made his way downstairs, he immediately noticed Kara's presence in the kitchen. However, something seemed off. Her expression was pained, and it was evident that she was hurt. No longer able to ignore his concern, Soobin approached her without any hesitation, determined to find out what was troubling her.

But before he could even utter a word, his attention was diverted to a figure, making their way towards Kara. To his surprise, it was Yeonjun, who seemed to be tending to Kara's injured finger. Carefully, he applied a bandaid while repeatedly asking if she was alright.

"Are you sure you're okay, Kara?" Yeonjun asked once more.

Kara laughed, "Yes, Yeonjun, I'm okay."

Soobin observed the two individuals, particularly focusing on Yeonjun. The way Yeonjun looked after his sister sparked a certain emotion within Soobin, although it made him feel uneasy. It was as if he couldn't bear to witness any more of it. Nevertheless, he chose to leave and go back to his own room. Perhaps Yeonjun was a good match for Kara.

But why did the thought of that make him feel so weird?

When Soobin returned to his bed and settled down, his phone suddenly rang, and upon checking the caller ID, he discovered it was none other than Beomgyu. At this point, Soobin shouldn't even be fazed by such calls anymore. He gets calls from Beomgyu at least three times a day.

Soobin hesitated for a moment, his gaze fixed on his incessantly ringing phone. Contemplating whether it was even worth his time to pick up the call, he pondered over the potential consequences of his decision. Eventually, however, he did answer it.

"Yah! Choi Soobin! Why didn't you answer me faster?!" Beomgyu yelled.

Soobin sighs, "What do you want?"

"Anyways, I have another idea-" Beomgyu was cut off.

"Gyu, stop with trying to break them up! The plans we tried all failed. Do you wanna know why? It's because Yeonjun is actually good for Kara."
Soobin explained.

"What? Are you out of your mind?"

"No gyu, you are. This was a childish thing to do in the first place. We made a plan just so they could break up. Don't you think that makes us a bit selfish?"

"But think about it!" Beomgyu tried to tell Soobin.

"No, Beom! You think! I've been untruthful to my sister for like the longest time ever. I lied to Yeonjun and faked getting along with him. Yeonjun is actually a good man, gyu." Soobin sighed.

"Really hyung?"

"Yes, Beom, let's stop with the plan." With that, Soobin ended the call. He rubbed his eyes before opening his door to go back outside.

The moment he opened his door, he found Yeonjun positioned there with an expression of anger etched on his face.

"Y-yeonjun?"

A few minutes ago....

Yeonjuns pov:

I was walking upstairs to put away the first aid kit until I heard Soobin yell. I know I probably shouldn't listen, but.....

It's too late now.

"No gyu, you are. This was a childish thing to do in the first place. We made a plan just so they could break up. Don't you think that makes us a bit selfish?"

Plan? What plan?

I went closer to the door to listen more.

"No, Beom! You think! I've been untruthful to my sister for like the longest time ever. I lied to Yeonjun and faked getting along with him. Yeonjun is actually a good man, gyu." Soobin sighed.

This whole time, Soobin was lying to me? I fucking knew it.

I exercised great restraint as I patiently awaited Soobin's emergence from his room. Inside, a raging threat of anger threatened to consume me, yet I managed to resist the overwhelming urge to forcefully enter. Finally, the door swung open, revealing Soobin's eyes, which were filled with a profound sense of astonishment.

"Y-yeonjun?"

End of pov:

"Y-yeonjun, did you hear all of that?"
Soobim began to panic.

"So this whole entire time, I thought we were actually getting along, but it was just for me and your sister to break up?" Yeonjun asked. His blood was boiling.

Soobin stayed quiet. He felt guilty. He'd never done this before.

"Answer, Soobin." Yeonjun demanded.

"Yes, but I promise to you I wasn't pretending to be nice to you! I met it." Soobin tried to explain, but Yeonjun wasn't buying it.

Yeonjun made the decision to leave Soobin and return to Kara, leaving Soobin feeling utterly stunned and bewildered by the sudden turn of events. Soobin couldn't help but regret his earlier impulsive and immature plan, realizing that it was a mistake from the start.

Yeonjun returned to Kara, his eyes filled with anger, upon witnessing Kara's anxious expression. Reacting swiftly, she reached out and gently placed her hands on his face, attempting to calm him down.

"Yeonjun, what's wrong?" She asked.

"You're little brother act." He replied coldly.

"Hm?"

"The reason Soobin was all of a sudden being nice to me was because he was trying to break us up, Kara."

"Huh? What are you talking about? Soobin would never do that?" Kara said.

"Kara, he did."

"I'll go talk to him, stay here." And with that, she left.

"Soobin! Are you out of your mind?!" She barged into his room.

Soobin stood up, "Kara, I really didn't mean too okay? I just thought that h-he was bad for you!"

"Soobin, I know you were just trying to look out for me, but Yeonjun is a great guy." She explained.

"I realized that now after I started hanging out with him more!"

"Why would you do this anyways?"

Soobin was filled with worry and anxiety as he found himself in a difficult situation. He was faced with a dilemma - he couldn't betray Beomgyu and throw him under the bus. But then again, he tells his older sister everything. However, he was unsure of what to do or say in this situation. Soobin was known for his honesty, always sharing everything with Kara. Yet, lying once wouldn't be so bad, right?"

"Because! I didn't want you to get hurt. That was all!" Soobin said. Technically, he didn't really lie.

Kara sighed.

"Can you please go and try to talk to him." She asked.

"I don't think he likes me very much anymore."

"I'll go ask him, okay, but for now, think what you're gonna say."

And there they were, positioned on opposite ends of the bed, their presence creating an uncomfortable silence that hung heavily in the air.

Soobin broke the silence first, "Okay, look, I'm sorry. It's just that-"

"Why do you hate me so much?" Yeonjun asked.

"What?"

"I said, why do you hate me so much?" Yeonjun said, this time turning his body to face Soobin.

"I-i, it's because... you know." Soobin struggled to put out his words. He looked at Yeonjun and then looked back down. "Kara isn't the best at picking guys. They were all bad, so I assume you would be, too."

Yeonjun sighed, "You barely even know me, though? Soobin, you can't just assume that I'm bad. I know you're just trying to help her, but I'm nothing like her exes."

Soobin nodded.

"I know I'm sorry, my childish plan was really dumb. And I realize that you're actually a really good guy." Soobin said.

"You mean, good looking?." Yeonjun corrected.

"Good looking? Yeah, right, you look like a um a roach." Soobin said.

"I know damm well that you didn't just call me a roach?" Yeonjun said, feeling offended.

Soobin glanced over at Yeonjun, who had a clearly offended expression on his face, before bursting into uncontrollable laughter. Seeing Soobin's amusement, Yeonjun couldn't help but join in, and soon, they both found themselves laughing like maniacs.

As Kara entered the room, she couldn't help but notice the sight of the two laughing hysterically. A mixture of confusion and joy washed over her as she observed this amusing scene, pleased that they were able to resolve the problem.

"What the hell happened to you too?" She asked.

"Kara, Yeonjun thinks he's good-looking, but he looks like a roach!" Soobin laughed even more.

"No, you do!" Yeonjun laughed even harder."

"Are you two like best friends now or something?" Kara asked.

Both Yeonjun and Soobin suppress their laughter in order to respond to Kara's question. "Yes." They said at the same time. Both looked at each other and started laughing again.

Kara sighed, "At least they are good now." She mumbled before leaving the two.
