Just A Bruise - Part 14

(Y/N) POV:

You laid on the couch with a blanket around your body and your head in Ricky's lap. According to him you had slept for almost the whole day when you got back from the hospital. He said he would come into the bedroom every so often to see if you were still breathing, which you were, and to lay with you for a few minutes before going back to what he was doing. The doctors had said to not look at any kind of screen or light for at least 24 hours because of the conclusion, but of course Ricky extended it for another day just to be safe.

He had taken your phone and laptop away and hid them somewhere, as for the tv, he hid the remote along with the other devices. You didn't mind this too much though, It was peaceful just being able to lay on the couch while Ricky read one of his many books. He would look at you every once in a while when he finished his chapter to give you a small smile, which you found extremely cute.

Your head was still wrapped in bandages just so nothing would infect the area where the bottle hit your head. It definitely wasn't the most flattering look but Ricky kept on reminding you how beautiful you were. It really helped keep your self conscious levels about your appearance up.

Ricky had mentioned something about the guys stopping by to bring us food or something. He said they really felt bad and they knew Ricky wasn't the best cook so they felt they would be doing you a favor by bringing something over. You didn't know when they were coming though so they would just have to deal with you looking like a mess.

You cuddled into the blanket more, shifting your head on Ricky's lap. He looked down at the sudden movement and watched as you laid your head back down on his leg. You groaned feeling the pounding headache you already had getting worse, probably because of the movement.

"You okay?" Ricky looked down at you to see the pained look spread across your face.

"No..." You sighed and sat up making your vision go blurry. This was apparently normal even though it really didn't seem like it was. Your head began to pound harder and you began to get really dizzy. You quickly leaned into Ricky's side just in case anything would happen.

"Hey, it's okay, it 's okay, just calm down." Ricky's arm made its way across your shoulder and pulled you into his chest. It wasn't the best position but it helped the dizziness go away.

"Thanks...Hey when are the guys coming over?" You looked at Ricky curious as to when the guests would be arriving.

"Hmmm maybe like an hour?" You nodded and snuggled back into his chest. It was nice to have someone watching over you and taking care of you. This was something you never really experienced in your previous relationships.

"Hey do you think I could shower before they get here?" Ricky sat his book down on the coffee table and slowly sat up as you did as well.

"Yeah that's fine, here i'll help you." You nodded and waited as he stood up and held his hands out for you to grab. It had just been over a day since you were released from the hospital, so you clearly needed help still. You grabbed Ricky's hand and stood up slowly hoping not to get too light headed. He waited as you gained your balance, watching to make sure that you were okay.

"Good?" You gave him a nod and he slipped his arm around your back. He walked over to the bathroom with you and turned on the shower just hot enough.

You slowly took off the bandages on your head, revealing a huge bruise on where your forehead met your hairline. Luckily you didn't have anymore black eyes from the guy. Ricky turned and looked at you, of course his eyes went right to the bruise.

"Honey...." He sighed and walked over reaching out to put his hand on your arm. You looked down hating how it looked, But you didn't want Ricky to worry anymore. After all he was definitely doing enough of that already.

"It's fine..." You let out an unconvincing sigh and looked at him. He could see right through your bullshit but still gave you a weak smile and helped you get your clothes off.

"Here's a towel when your done." He set the towel onto the bathroom counter as you got into the shower.

"Thank you!" He smiled and walked out leaving you to be alone.

The water fell down your body as you stepped into it. You had to be careful with the stitches, but that definitely didn't stop you from enjoying your nice warm shower. It had been a few days since you actually got the chance to take a nice shower so you were definitely enjoying this one.

You stayed under the water until your fingers got all wrinkled up. The ongoing headache came back to you as you stepped out of the shower and wrapped the towel around your body. This was definitely a miserable way to live, the headache was non stop and you were constantly feeling light headed.

You made your way into the bedroom and found Ricky sitting on the bed. He looked over at you and pointed to a pair of clothes he had already set out for you. He really was the sweetest guy ever. You happily grabbed the pile of clothes and slipped them on. It was a pair of shorts and one of his shirts, he knew just what to get you too. You sat down on the bed next to him and sighed as the pain came back into your head, not as a headache more of a stinging pain.

"Im so tired of this shit." You sighed, speaking more harshly and with anger then what you had intended. Ricky moved his eyes to look at you as you covered your face with your hands.

"Why did it have to be me out of all the people this could have happened to! I didn't do anything to deserve this! All I wanted to do was close the stupid shop so we could spend time together but noooo some stupid old man had to come and hit me." Ricky pulled you into a hug as you began to get more and more annoyed at the situation.

"Im sorry baby I know this sucks but it happened and now there's nothing we can do about it. I'm here and i'm not leaving, I promise, so I guess this means we got time to spend with one another anyway." He smiled weakly as you began to tear up. You didn't want to cry but you were just so done with everything that it kind of just happened.

You sniffled as Ricky wiped the few tears from your face. He looked quickly at the stitches just to make sure that they were okay, which they were. You felt him lean his head carefully on yours as you still wiped away a few stray tears that were falling. It was just such a shitty situation and something that shouldn't have happened in the first place. However you were glad that it was you and not Ricky. You wouldn't have been able to handle seeing him like that.

As if almost on cue, there was a knock at the door. Great, the guys were here and were going to see you looking like a mess. Ricky stood up and held his hands out again to help you up. You didn't have too much of a choice so you just let him help you up and over to the couch. You sat down and grabbed the blanket setting it on your lap as Ricky walked over to the door.

Ricky's POV:

I walked over to the door and opened it revealing all of the guys behind it.

"Took you fuckin long enough! Now where's my favorite merch girl?" Chris laughed and tried to look into the house to find (Y/N). Her and Chris have really become pretty good friends which I was grateful for. After all if she did ever come on tour at least she would have other friends other then just me.

"Hey, she is in the living room, but please keep it down she's really not in the mood today." I sighed and spoke softly so she wouldn't hear me from the living room. They all nodded as I opened the door farther for them all to enter.

"Hey I brought you guys pasta that my mom made, I told her you guys had gotten into a little accident and she just had to do something to help.....you know how she is." Vinny held out a glass container full of pasta and laughed.

"Thank you so much it means a lot." I laughed and took the container and brought it to the kitchen. I listened as they all gathered into the living room where (Y/N) was currently sitting.

"So did Ricky kick his ass after?" Ryan joked as the others laughed along with him. At least they were trying to cheer her up and make her laugh, there was only so much I could do and I wasn't always the best at cheering people up. I'm sure she would beg to differ on that though.

I made my way into the living room and sat next to (Y/N) as the guys continued to question her.

"So why didn't you reply to my texts huh?" Vinny laughed and put his arm around (Y/N).

"Because that dumby took my phone away." She laughed lightly and moved so she was laying on my chest again. What could I say I just wanted her to be safe rather than sorry.

"Yeah, The doctors just said to keep her off it for a day but I wanted to be safe and have her off it longer." I smiled weakly as she stuck her tongue out at me cutely mocking me.

"Damn Rick stop worrying so much." Chris laughed and waved me off. Maybe I was worrying too much but I just really wanted to make sure that nothing else went wrong. She really didn't need anything else to go wrong right now and I knew she was thankful that I was doing this.

"No he's not he's doing what he should be doing because knowing my dumb ass if he left me to do what I want I would end up getting more hurt." (Y/N) sighed and I could tell she was getting a little annoyed with the comment. I couldn't blame her though, she was just crying over the situation she was in.

I rubbed her arm gently with my hand. Her hair was still wet from the shower and I could feel the water starting to seep through my own shirt. I could tell by the expression still on her face that the headache really wasn't getting any better. I hated seeing her in this much pain, It wasn't fair to her. She was right about what she was saying earlier. Why did this have to happen to her? I would change places with her in a heartbeat if I could.

"Hey, want more pain meds?" I looked down at her and almost instantly she nodded. I removed my arm from around her shoulder and got up from the couch to get her the medication the doctor gave us.

(Y/N) POV:

You waited until Ricky was out of ear shot before explaining your idea to the guy.

"Hey I've been thinking about throwing a surprise party for Ricky's birthday this year and I was wondering if you guys would help me out with it..." I trailed off hoping they would all say yes.

"......What's in it for us?" Of course Vinny would be the one to question you. You really hadn't thought too much in depth about this party, all you knew is that you wanted to surprise Ricky with it.

"Uhhh Ill make you guys brownies or something?" I watched as they all became more intrigued as soon as I said I would make brownies.

"Deal, now what's the plan?" Vinny moved over closer to you and so did the others.

"Well we have a cake tasting thing the morning of his birthday so I could take him to that. Then you guys could come and decorate everything and make sure everyone gets here while I run around town with him?" Hopefully this make shift plan you had in your head was going to be good enough.

Vinny was just about to reply but stopped as Ricky walked back over with the pills. He carefully handed them to you with no water. The guys watched as you took all the pills without any water. What could you say, It was your special little talent.

"Your fiancé is fuckin weird bro....But so are you so I guess you even each other out." Chris laughed at the two of you as you laid your head back down on Ricky's shoulder.

It was only around 3 pm but you were already feeling wiped out and tired. You let out a small yawn and cuddled closer to Ricky. Vinny took the blanket that you were using and set it on your shoulders tucking you in. You smiled and mouthed thank you to him.

"Well do you guys want to eat some of the pasta Vinny's mom made?" Ricky perked up looking at the guys.

"Yeah why not." Ryan laughed and got up. Ricky started to get up but before he could Ryan stopped him. "Your girl needs you. I'm sure I can figure out how to use your oven." Ryan laughed and walked off to the kitchen as Ricky sat back down.

"Your mom made pasta?" You looked at Vinny who was currently on his phone.

"Oh yeah, I told her that well you got in an accident and she really wanted to help out in any way she could." He smiled as the tears came back up to the surface. It was so sweet of his mom to think of you and to help you out. Sure you didn't really need it but it was definitely going to be better then take out or something Ricky tried to cook.

"Well wake me up when it's ready then." You laughed softly and cuddled back into Ricky's side as he put his arm back around your body. You felt the same safe feeling that you had come to love feeling.

You slowly fell asleep in Ricky's arms like you had many times before. You were so grateful that he was sticking around after everything that had happened. Hopefully this whole birthday surprise thing would work out in your favor and Ricky would love it. Now you just had to get better first.
