Is This Really Happening? - Part 3

(Y/N) POV:

You had woken up on Ricky that morning and in the process of you trying to get up, without waking him up as well, you did just that. However he wasn't mad about it at all, you both just looked at one another and laughed. You really hadn't gotten that good of sleep but something about it made you smile. Your mind keeps reverting back to Ricky and how much you enjoyed his presence and company. You also shamelessly loved the feeling of someone else's arms around you, It really made you feel loved in a way. You had never really been the type of person to enjoy sleeping on the same surface as another person, you liked your space and most of the time you hogged the bed anyway which just upset the other person even more.

"How many waffles do you want?" The voice you loved listening to broke you from your thoughts. You remembered you were eating breakfast and Ricky was cooking for the two of you.

"Oh umm i'll just take one." You smiled sweetly taking the plate that had your waffle on it. Then you added strawberries, chocolate chips, and whipped cream on top. Ricky looked over and laughed at you for your choice. "Hey the strawberries are what makes it healthy!" He just laughed even more at you but you joined in as well.

"How's the black eye doing today?" He sat his plate down on the table across from where you sat. His toppings were a lot more adult like, just plain syrup.

"It still hurts like a bitch if we're being honest and it looks even worse than yesterday." You sighed, taking a bite of the warm waffle. Ricky nodded understanding that it wasn't pleasing to be punched in the face.

"Well if you're up to it, since you have a day off today I thought we could talk about some merch designs and then maybe grab some dinner?" Was he asking you out on a date?!? No he couldn't be. Stop thinking like that (Y/N). He said he wanted to talk about merch designs anyway so it was strictly business.

"Oh so like a date?" You raised an eyebrow at him, his eyes shot to yours rather quickly. "Im kidding." You laughed and his laughter followed shortly after. Little did you know though Ricky was hiding a huge blush that had spread across his face. "So do you have any ideas about what you want the new merch to look like?"

"Well I was kind of hoping you could help me with that...." How were you supposed to come up with merch designs when you didn't even know what type of band he was in? For all you knew he could have been in a gospel country band spreading the word of Jesus Christ himself. Well this just means you were going to have to play the glorious game of 20 questions with him to get his ideas out and onto paper.

"Alright well what kind of band are you in?" You figured you would start off with an easy question.

"Well we play a lot of metal..." Damn that's hot, your mind drifted for a moment. You loved metal music, you have since you were a kid, your father practically raised you on it. "It's called Motionless in White, or MIW for short." You liked that name, it was unique and that's what made you like it so much. Ricky smiled at you, he could tell you were deep in thought and he found that particularly cute.

"I like that name." You smiled back at him and quickly finished up your waffle. "Well come on we should get started on sketches." He nodded in agreement as you got up and set your dishes in the sink for him to clean while you got your sketchbook and pencils. You walked over to your bedroom and opened the door to see the messy bed you had left from last night. This honestly bothered you. You liked all of your things to look nice, especially since you were living with Ricky. You wanted to make sure the house looked neat and clean. Your feet dragged you over to your bed and you decided to make it look at least halfway decent. After a few moments Ricky walked over and leaned on the door frame of your bedroom door. Damn what a nice body you had, sure you might hate it, but Ricky is truly astonished at how beautiful it is. He stood there a few moments just watching you as you tried to perfect the bedding before he spoke up.

"You getting those sketchbooks (Y/N)?" his laugh filled the room as you jumped and fell onto the bed.

"Y-yeah sorry...." Your hand quickly smoothed out one last wrinkle before you walked over to the cardboard box grabbing your sketch supplies. "Ready..." You looked over at Ricky making eye contact with his flawless blue eyes.

"Great, to the living room?" He pointed to the living room and you nodded yes. He walked to the living room with you quickly on his tail. You set your sketchbook and pencils on the ground before you joined them as well. Ricky sat down on the couch across from where you were sitting on the floor. You always enjoyed sitting on the floor to sketch rather than a couch. What can you say, you were weird like this.

"So where do we begin..." You laughed and once again made eye contact with Ricky who just sighed and joined in laughing with you. You continued to flip to a brand new page in your completely new sketchbook you had been waiting to use .

Ricky's POV:

Holy shit were these sketches coming out good. I knew these were not the final designs but they damn well could have been. Damn (Y/N) was good at this type of merch design shit. She knew exactly where to put things and was practically reading my mind about what I wanted on each of the shirts, hoodies, etc. She would get so lost in her work too. I found this so cute, even when she would get frustrated that something wasn't looking just how she wanted it to look. I loved that about her though, she wanted everything to be perfect. This whole new roommate thing was growing on me. I really enjoyed (Y/N)'s company and it was super fun to have her around and not have to be alone all the time. She was also extremely pretty, even with the balck eye she was currently dealing with. Was I really developing feelings for a girl I had just met? Oh come on Ricky she's your roommate you can't be into her like that. She'd probably think you were weird. As much as I wanted tonight to be a date, I knew I couldn't ask her out like that already. She's probably not even into me like that anyway.

"So you want the background to be black or purple?" I barely heard her due to the fact I was stuck in my own thoughts again.

"Uhhhhh what?" I looked down at the sketch she was currently working on and then back up to her perfect face seeing her laugh at me.

"For the background, you wanted purple or black?"

"Oh um black" I laughed and rubbed the back of my neck with my hand.

She smiled and filled in the background with some dark shading before she held it up for me to see. "Okay what do you think?" I took one look at it and I already knew.

"I LOVE IT!" I smiled taking the sketchbook into my own hands and looked at the drawing examining every little detail I could. It was amazing! How could one human do this?! I was really shocked, I knew she did this kind of stuff for a living but she seriously had some skills!

"Wait really?" she smiled looking at me, a surprised look spread across her face.

"Um? Of course! I didn't know you could draw this good! It's like you drew exactly what I was thinking in my head!" She blushed and it was very obvious even though she tried to cover it up with her hands. She smiled and looked back up at me after the blush had faded, "You really mean that?" her soft voice spoke out.

"Hell yeah!" Before I knew it her arms were wrapped around my neck and the sketchbook was on the floor again. She hugged me tightly burying her face into my shoulder. I should have been surprised by this sudden hug, but in all honesty I wasn't. I quickly grabbed her and hugged her back just as tight, breathing in her sweet vanilla perfume. I loved this smell and ever since (Y/N) moved in the whole entire house smelled like this and it reminded me of her.

"Y-you dont know how much that means to me...." She sniffled and I hugged her tighter, rubbing her back softly. After a few moments of staying like this she slowly pulled away still sitting in my lap. "Sorry....Nobody ever believed I was good enough at design....So to hear you say that you really like it and that it's exactly what your picturing in your head means a lot....." I looked into her eyes seeing the left over tears. The little devil on my shoulder kept telling me to do it..... But I just couldn't do it. I gave her a warm smile and kept my hands on her back.

"Well hey I know i'm just a random guy in all but I really meant what I said.....I love it (Y/N)..." She smiled back letting a tear roll down her cheek, which I quickly wiped away with my thumb. Was this weird? I mean she was still sitting on my lap and I was wiping her tears away....Damn it Ricky you're going to get yourself into a lot of trouble here....

"Hey why don't we get ready for dinner." I suggested and she nodded along quickly getting up off of my lap to pick up her sketchbook before walking away to her room. I pulled my beanie over my eyes. What was I doing....I almost gave in to the little voice in my head saying do it....

(Y/N) POV:

You quickly shut your bedroom door. You almost did that?!?! Are you kidding yourself right now? Sure the hug was fine, well actually really good, he was an extremely good hugger. You enjoyed feeling his arms around you. It wasn't just like a random hug out of nowhere either, well at least on your part. You really were touched by what he said, no one had believed in you when you went to design school. Sure your brother loved you, but to him it wasn't a steady source of income to keep you alive. You didn't care that it wasn't a steady source of income. All you cared about was that it was your dream and you were going to accomplish it. Hearing that Ricky liked your sketches meant the absolute world to you. Okay sure half of it may have been because you have this raging crush on him but no one but you needed to know that right now. You weren't ready for another relationship anyway after what had happened in your last one.

The guy had cheated on you with the only friend you had left. Once you had found out, you were so broken that you did things you never thought of doing again. You have since pulled yourself out of that hole of depression and have become much stronger. All you knew about them now was that they were married and had some kids, but you could care less. You broke yourself from your thoughts and moved over to where your closet was, skimming through to find the perfect outfit. Ricky had never seen you in anything other than a t-shirt and jeans. You knew this wasn't a date but he was taking you out so why not dress up a little bit right? There was a dress you had been wanting to wear for a while now too......

Before you knew it, you were in the dress with the new black heeled boots you had just bought the other day. Hopefully this wasn't too dressy but you didn't care if it was or not. You made sure you covered up the black eye so it was no longer noticeable. Then you sprayed your favorite vanilla perfume all over the dress and your body before walking out. Much to your surprise you met Ricky in the hallway. He was wearing a black button down and a pair of clean nice jeans. Your mind drifted while looking at him, Damn he's hot. Ricky was thinking the same about you. You were right he had never seen you in anything other than pajamas or a t-shirt and jeans, But damn was he loving how that dress showed off your perfect legs, and not to mention your perfect body as well. You both smiled at each other, "So are you re-" You both spoke the same sentence at the same time. You blushed and Ricky looked down rubbing the back of his neck. You both walked out of the hallway and over to the front door. Ricky grabbed the front door for you and you thanked him as you walked out of the house and over to Ricky's car.

--------------------

You had both ended up agreeing on the small restaurant downtown that you had been going too since you were a small kid. This place held so many good memories in your heart. All the times your dad would take you here for dinner or lunch. The best memory you had however was the day your dad took you here a few days before your mom passed away when you were 7. He called it your special little date night with just the two of you. In reality your mom didn't want you seeing how truly sick she really was. She didn't want you to only have the memory of her laying in that hospital bed dying from cancer, she wanted you to remember the fun times not the sad ones.

All of these memories flooded your head as you entered the restaurant with Ricky. You looked over the counter and noticed all the high school girls working around the one man who had worked there since you were little, the head cook Shane. He was getting old but he still made the best burgers you could ever ask for. You walked over to a table and sat down in the one you and your dad had always sat in together. Ricky sat across from you in the booth. Shortly after, a waitress walked up to you and Ricky.

"So what can I get you two love birds tonight?" She smiled getting her pad and pen ready to write. You looked over and Ricky and he looked back over at you. You shrugged and ordered your usual, a plain burger and an order of fries for you and Ricky to split. After you ordered Ricky ordered himself a grilled cheese and the waitress was on her way back to the counter.

"Love birds huh?" He laughed looking over at you.

"Oh come on dont act like it would be that bad to date me." You smiled lightly kicking his foot under the table.

"Hey I never said that!" He laughed and lightly kicked you back. "I think dating you would be fun..." He smiled. Did he really mean that? "I also forgot to say this before we left the house, but you look very pretty tonight." You blushed as he said this.

"Well I'm sure you would be fun to date too." You returned a smile back to him. "And you clean up nice yourself, you know that Olson?" You both laughed with one another and you could tell Ricky even blushed a little as well. The food came just as you were laughing, you smiled and thanked the waitress before diving into the delicious food that was in front of you.

--------------------

Damn that was good. You haven't eaten here in awhile, mostly due to the fact that you never had anyone to come with. Ricky clearly enjoyed his food as well considering it was all the way gone. You both sat in the booth the whole time talking about life and laughing at each others stupid jokes, you really liked this, it was fun and special to you. After Ricky paid and you left the tip, which he was very not okay with but you made him let you pay for the tip anyway, you suggested that you guys could go to the cute ice cream shop that was just at the beginning of downtown and he of course agreed.

He drove thru the drive thru and ordered you both the specialty sundaes you loved. You insisted on paying, but of course ended up losing. Ricky played it off by saying this was your treat for designing the merch for him. You sat in the parking lot of the ice cream store and ate your ice cream watching the sunset. Ricky ate half of his and you ate half of yours before you switched your sundaes to eat the rest of each others.

Once the sun was completely down Ricky began to drive back to the house. You leaned your hand up against the heater of the car to warm it up. It was cold from holding the cold ice cream in your hand for so long. You always were cold no matter what you did and ice cream clearly didn't help.

"Hands cold?" Ricky questioned keeping his eyes on the road.

"Um yeah I guess a little...." He grabbed your hand away from the heater and held it tightly in his own. Your stomach fluttered with butterflies. Maybe he was into you? No he was just being a good friend......right? You didn't care, this felt so right to you. Sure you have just met him but honestly this has been the best night you've had in a long time. You were doing everything that couples did but were you and Ricky really an actual couple?
