Fight or Flight (Dixie D'Amelio)

Y/n's View

"I'll be back soon." Addison says.

"It just seems so long." I say.

"I'll be back as soon as I can." Addison says.

Something's gotten into you

"Okay." I say.

You don't really look at me the way you used to

Addison smiles and I kiss her.

And I'm hoping it ain't true
Every single rumor that I've heard of you say

There's a knock on the door and I answer it.

"I'm Dixie." The girl says.

"Y/n." I say.

"Is Addison here?" Dixie asks.

"Yeah." I say letting them in.

Addison looks up and widens her eyes.

"I was wondering when you'd be back in town so we could go out on a date." Dixie says.

You were off with someone that I don't know

"Date?" I ask.

"We've been together for almost a year." Dixie says.

Calling other people on your telephone

"We've been dating for 2 years." I say.

We both widen our eyes and look at Addison.

Kinda wish I didn't know

"I—" Addison says.

Well, fight or flight

"Is that true? You're dating both of us?" I ask.

"Yeah..." Addison says.

Fight or flight
I'd rather lie
Than tell you, I'm in love with you

"You, Dixie, and Bryce." She says.

My eyes are welling up, as you admit there's someone new
It's my move

"I'm done with you." I say.

Fight or flight

"Y/n." She says.

You tell me it ain't what it seems
But baby, this is looking like a crime scene, there's

"I'm done too." Dixie says.

Clothes thrown on the balcony
And you smell like perfume out a magazine

"Get out." I say.

"You can't kick me out." Addison says.

"Watch me." I say.

I look at Dixie and she follows me upstairs. I open the closet door and go inside. I throw a bunch of stuff out and Dixie picks them up.

"We're throwing them out the window?" Dixie asks.

I'm throwing all your shit out of my window

"Yep." I say.

"I like you." She says smiling.

I smile and she throws the clothes out the window.

"Y/n." Addison says coming in the room.

"Get out. I wish I never met you." I say.

Telling you I wish that we had never spoke

"I know you aren't gonna change." I say.

Baby, I already know

"Fight or flight?" Dixie asks.

Well, fight or flight

"Flight." I say.

I'd rather die
Than have to cry in front of you

"You better be gone for good when I come back." I say.

Fight or flight
I'd rather lie
Than tell you, I'm in love with you

"Y/n—" Addison says.

My eyes are welling up, as you admit there's someone new

"She chose flight and so do I." Dixie says.

It's my move
Fight or flight

Dixie grabs me by the hand and we leave.

Time Skip

There's a knock on the door and I open it.

"What are you doing here?" I ask.

"I want to talk about everything that has happened." Dixie says.

Now there's someone at my door

I nod my head and let Dixie in. She smiles and we sit on the couch.

Someone I've not met before

"I can't get over the fact I was the side piece." Dixie says.

They've got eyes like mine

I laugh and she smiles.

A pretty smile and they've been crying for a while

"I had something you couldn't give her." I say.

"What?" She asks.

I give her a look and her jaw drops.

'Cause they also didn't know

"You're so dramatic." I say.

"Lemme see." She says.

"Ha, gay. I wouldn't fuck you." I say.

That our love had left us both

"You wouldn't?" She asks.

"I mean unless you want to." I say.

We laugh and she smiles.

"I'm joking through." I say.

"Oh." She says.

I laugh and we smile.

"What's your plan?" Dixie asks.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"What's next?" Dixie asks.

"Addison owns this house and my name isn't on the lease. I'll go back to Switzerland and move back in with my brother." I say.

"Why'd you leave in the first place?" Dixie asks.

"I got in a lot of trouble so my parents sent me to California to and I met Addison." I say.

"What kind of trouble?" She says.

"I got arrested a few times." I say.

"Well, goddamn." She says.

I laugh and she smiles.

"Do you still do that?" She asks.

"Not since I met Addison." I say.

"Good. I don't know you, but I'm proud of you." She says.

She moans in my ear and I widen my eyes.

"Stop." I say.

She laughs and I smile.

Time Skip

"Hey, doofus." I say as Dixie walks to me.

"Hi, idiot." Dixie says sitting in front of me.

"Addison has been texting me." I say.

"Are you responding to her?" Dixie asks.

"No, but she's threatening me." I say.

"What did she say?" She asks.

"Addison is trying to send me back to Switzerland because I can here illegally. I'm undocumented." I say.

"Marry me." Dixie says.

"What?" I ask.

"If you marry me, you can get a spousal visa. All you have to do is sneak back into Switzerland and apply." Dixie says.

"You'd do you that for a stranger?" I ask.

"Strangers are just friends you haven't met." Dixie says.

"Hi, I'm Dixie." She says smiling.

I laugh and she smiles.

"Okay." I say.

Time Skip

"Back off." I say.

Well, fight or flight

"I'm sorry." Addison says.

"Why would I go back to you when you tried to get me deported a few days ago?" I ask.

I'd rather die
Than have to cry in front of you

"I fucked up and I know that. I know you still love me and I don't think anything can change that." Addison says.

Fight or flight

"I'm not." I say.

I'd rather lie
Than tell you, I'm in love with you

"Fair enough." She says.

"Bryce doesn't know what happened. Go talk to him." I say.

My eyes are welling up, as you admit there's someone new

"Is Dixie telling you to say this?" She asks.

"No." I say.

It's my move

"I chose flight." I say.

Fight or flight

She stares at me and I leave. I get in my car and Dixie looks up.

"Does she still want you back?" Dixie asks.

"Yep." I say putting my seatbelt on.

"Bummer." Dixie says.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

Dixie cups my cheeks and kisses me.

"You're mine." She says.

"Oh, okay." I say.

She laughs and I smile.
