chapter 19 - The Beast of Beacon Hills

Outfits in the external link

From 5.18 "Maid of Gevaudan", in the Argent Bunker, Lydia, Angel, Jordan, Chris and Gerard were talking.

Stacie: (voice over) "Previously on Worlds Colliding (Teen Wolf)"

"I'm sorry, Angel," Jordan told her. "But I have to leave to protect you."

Jordan walked out, leaving.

Chris looked at Angel. "The Hellhound wants to take control for your uncle, but the Valkyrie wants to aid you."

"So, you want to wake me up inside," Angel told them.

Later, Angel slowly stepped out of the machine, breathing heavily from the fog and release and the relief she felt at feeling free, watching as wings grew from behind her beautifully, breathing deeply.

Lydia: (voice over from 5.18 Maid of Gevaudan) "How do you feel?"

Angel held her hands in front of her, watching as the talons returned to nails, looking over her shoulders to the wings in awe, watching them return to inside of her. She let the glow of her eyes fade to her normal color.

Angel: (voice over from 5.18 Maid of Gevaudan) "If this is what it means to be a Valkyrie, I don't know how I could stand being held back before."

Angel turned around, walking out, leaving, knowing that she had to go and find her uncle and bring him back so that they could face down the Beast together.

Angel: (voice over from 5.18 Maid of Gevaudan) "We need Jordan. I'm going to find him."

From 5.17 "A Credible Threat", on the lacrosse field, Adriana pulled Brett into a slow, deep, passionate kiss for a long moment. Brett smirked, pulling on his helmet, turning around, running onto the field.

Natalie: (voice over from 5.17 A Credible Threat) "Know what you're doing there?"

Adriana looked dark and contemplative, turning away toward the bleachers, but stopped when she saw Theo by the treeline, knowing that he had seen and heard them. Theo looked annoyed, even a little jealous, rolling his eyes.

Adriana: (voice over from 5.17 A Credible Threat) "Nope."

From 5.14 "The Sword and the Spirit", in the girls' locker room, Adriana and Theo were talking. Theo took out the large needle.

"That's supposed to keep the dark urges and anger away?" Adriana asked.

"No," Theo answered. "It'll just give you more control over yourself. Make sure that the darkness of your bond with Ari doesn't take you over completely like it did when you were an Alpha. It's not permanent, and it'll wear off."

From 5.17 "A Credible Threat", in the school hallway, Kira and Adriana had both lost control to their darker selves. Adriana didn't seem to know what was happening, just continued to punch Kira, in a blind rage of darkness and anger. Tara and Natalie pulled Adriana away from Kira, using all of their strength combined to pull Adriana off, considering that Adriana was stronger than both of them.

Theo: (voice over from 5.14 The Sword and the Spirit) "You know that without this, you'll end up snapping and hurting or killing someone."

From 5.14 "The Sword and the Spirit", in the hospital hallway, Scott, Stiles, Stacie, Tara, Natalie, Angel and Liam were talking.

"It's called the Beast," Natalie told them.

"The Beast of Gevaudan," Tara told them.

From 5.18 "Maid of Gevaudan", in flashback in the bar, Sebastian sat with Marie-Jeanne in the bar, smiling smugly, sadistically.

Adriana: (voice over from 5.13 Codominance) "So the Dread Doctors resurrected a killer who was so bad that he had to literally be erased from history."

From 5.18 "Maid of Gevaudan", in flashback to the cottage, Sebastian let his eyes glow white. The woman screamed.

Ari: (voice over from 5.13 Codominance) "A killer that became a Werewolf."

From 5.18 "Maid of Gevaudan", in flashback, Marie-Jeanne slid along the ground, picking up the spear that was hidden in the snow, quickly turning around to face Sebastian, screaming. Momentum carried the Beast onto the spear, which protruded out of his back.

Gerard: (voice over from 5.18 Maid of Gevaudan) "Marie-Jeanne. Faced the Beast armed with nothing more than a steel-tipped pike."

Sebastian returned human. "All of history will remember my name."

"No one will remember," Marie-Jeanne told him.

From 5.18 "Maid of Gevaudan", in flashback, the town was burning everything that was connected to Sebastian.

Chris: (voice over from 5.18 Maid of Gevaudan) "They erased every detail of him."

From 5.12 "Damnatio Memoriae", in the tunnels, Ari and Adriana found the message on the tunnel floor using the black light.

Angel: (voice over from 5.18 Maid of Gevaudan) "Damnatio Memoriae."

From 5.10 "Status Asthmaticus", in the operating theater, the Dread Doctors were looking at the painting of the Hellhound, the Valkyrie and the Beast.

Valack: (voice over from 5.16 Lie Ability) "The Dread Doctors are trying to get it to remember itself."

From 5.14 "The Sword and the Spirit", in Fort Jewett, the Beast appeared in the hole in the wall over Deaton and Adriana.

Valack: (voice over from 5.16 Lie Ability) "It's still bound to its host, the teenage Chimera inside."

From 5.18 "Maid of Gevaudan", in the school library, Liam, Natalie, Scott, Tara, Ari and Adriana stood ready together to fight the Beast, looking from each other to the door. The Beast burst inside, roaring. Liam, Natalie, Scott, Tara, Ari and Adriana shifted, roaring. Stacie was shooting the Beast with her handguns. Stiles was shooting the Beast with Stacie's crossbow.

Valack: (voice over from 5.16 Lie Ability) "Discover its identity, then your friends would have a fighting chance."

Tara looked toward the wall of windows, smirking. "But I got its scent."

From 5.18 "Maid of Gevaudan", in the parking lot, Liam, Natalie, Scott, Tara, Ari and Adriana found Mason's bloody shoes in the trunk of his car. Mason walked closer in confusion.  They looked at him in shocked denial.

"It's you," Adriana told him.

Cory was hidden by the red car next to them, becoming visible, grabbing Mason by his shoulders.

"Wait!" Tara told him.

Cory made both him and Mason blend in with their surroundings.

Adriana, Ari, Liam, Natalie, Scott and Tara looked around, knowing that Cory and Mason were gone and that Mason was the Beast.

Same Night - Day One

Night - Beacon Hills Animal Clinic

(Song:) Deep End - Ruelle

Adriana was still healing from the fight with the Beast that night, looking through the clinic, as no one else was there, and she was rummaging through everything she could get her hands on to find something. She was still in the slashed, bloody clothing she had been wearing during the fight, trying not to trace her tattoo.

Theo appeared in the doorway, leaning against it, looking over her appearance. "Rough night, Adriana?" Adriana looked up to see Theo in the doorway. "Let me guess. You had another run in with the Beast tonight."

"At least this time I wasn't paralyzed," Adriana told him. "Even if you only did paralyze me because the Desert Wolf was gonna shoot me up with poisonous wolfsbane if you didn't."

Theo chuckled. "You gotta let that go. Looking for something?"

Adriana sighed. "Figures you'd show up when I'm in need of something."

Theo smirked. "Since I'm pretty sure your lacrosse player isn't in here, I'm suspecting that you're looking for something a little more helpful to you."

"'My lacrosse player' is named Brett," Adriana told him.

"The same guy that Natalie told me you went to a club with?" Theo asked.

"You mean the one you asked me about at the school library before I even read the book that got me to remember what really happened when we were kids?" Adriana asked sarcastically. "After you were watching us at the club so that you could stop the Doctors from killing me that night without me knowing at first? Yeah, that's the one. So what?"

"You like him because he's a real wolf?" Theo asked.

"No, I like him because he's not a psychopath," Adriana answered. "Brainwashed or not, you're still a psycho."

Theo chuckled in amusement but didn't deny it. "Ouch. I don't know, Adri. You used to pull off the psycho look pretty well, too. It takes one to know one. Or understand one." Adriana didn't answer, giving Theo a look because she couldn't deny that either, continuing to look through the clinic. "Does he know about your history with brainwashing or the Dread Doctors? Or me? Or the Alpha Pack? Or the fact that you're losing control over the darkness of the bond you share with Ari that you hurt one of your best friends during the game?"

"How do you know about that?" Adriana asked.

"How do I know anything, Adri?" Theo replied. "Hayden was at the game. She saw the fight between you, Tara, Natalie and Kira. And she saw you lose control on Kira. She was looking for Chayton and Angel, hoping to bring Chayton back to us."

Adriana gave him a taunting look. "Oh, did Theo lose one of his Chimeras because of his obsession with Chayton's girlfriend? I'm betting that he's gonna lose Hayden next because she's friends with Angel, too."

Theo rolled his eyes slightly, still amused. "And Adriana hurt Kira in a way that I told Adri that she would end up hurting someone that Adriana cared about if Adri didn't accept my help."

"I'm really not in the mood for an 'I told you so', Theo," Adriana told him.

"Fine," Theo told her. "I won't say that. But I did."

Adriana rolled her eyes. "Yes, you did. Congratulations, Theo. You get a gold star for being Captain Obvious."

Theo smirked in amusement. "You didn't answer the question. Does he know about any of that?"

"Brett?" Adriana asked. Theo nodded. Adriana sighed, looking only a little guilty, but more numb than anything. "No, and he's not going to."

Theo nodded sarcastically. "That's healthy."

"Where do you get off on lecturing me on what's healthy?" Adriana asked. "You know, if I didn't know any better, I'd say that you sound jealous."

"And why does that come as a shock?" Theo asked.

"Because jealousy comes from actual feelings that a sociopath like you doesn't have," Adriana answered.

Theo tilted his head sarcastically. "Yeah, and if you did lose control again, and he saw it happen? Or if you did it to him? What then? You lose everything, Adriana. Again."

"What are you getting at?" Adriana asked in annoyance. "That maybe I could hurt Brett? Thanks for the newsflash. I know that I'm very capable of hurting someone close to me again. Even Brett. But no more than you've hurt me."

"I've done all I can to keep you alive," Theo told her.

"Yeah, and you've also sold everyone else out in the process of saving me, more than once," Adriana told him. "If you want a thank you, then start thinking about other people's lives and safety."

"Why?" Theo asked. "I don't care about them."

"But you're saying that in your own little twisted way, you care about me," Adriana told him. "That's sweet for a psycho's standards." Theo chuckled. "And what about a certain former Alpha of mine that might what revenge against me for taking his pack down from the inside? Isn't that what you said about Deucalion in the tunnels when we were looking for Lydia? Was that your way of warning me that he wanted revenge against me, that he wanted to hurt me?"

"Nice way to change the subject, Adri," Theo told her.

Adriana rolled her eyes. "Where is he? You shouldn't trust him. This dark force inside me and the Dread Doctors might have brainwashed me into going to Deucalion, but he's the one that helped turn me into that psychopathic killer that you love to bring up."

"And Tara, Scott and Ari are the ones who let him live," Theo told her.

"They're not murderers," Adriana told him.

"But you used to be," Theo told her. "And you might have to tap into that killer instinct again if you want to defeat the Beast."

"Not gonna happen," Adriana told him.

"You still think you're gonna get through all of this without killing anyone?" Theo asked.

"I didn't say that," Adriana told him, walking closer. "If you came here to find me because you know what happened at the school tonight, then you have what you know I need."

Theo nodded. "The wolfsbane. Sure you want to do that again?"

"If it keeps me from becoming a killer again," Adriana answered. "I know you have it. Give it to me."

Theo took out a needle of wolfsbane. "I'm betting this isn't the last thing you'll come to me for help for."

Adriana didn't answer, sighing. "Well, are you gonna give it to me or not?" Theo smirked in amusement, raising his eyebrows slightly. Adriana gave him a look. "You know what I mean."

Theo smiled in amusement, holding up the needle, gesturing for Adriana to come closer with his eyes. Adriana sighed, walking closer with less hesitation than last time, pulling back her hair off her neck where blood was staining her skin from the fight. Theo wiped the blood away with a finger, never taking his eyes from Adriana as he put the needle to her neck, looking at her for confirmation. Adriana returned the gaze steadily, nodding. Theo injected the needle into her neck. As Adriana's eyes glowed completely purple, she started to fall unconscious against Theo's chest. Theo caught her as she fell, laying her in a nearby chair, sitting beside her, watching her sleep, not smug or anything like his usual attitude, just at ease in the moment, showing actual caring that he didn't let anyone else see ever.

Theo held her hand while she was sleeping, tracing his finger along her double infinity sign tattoo to keep her calm throughout the night.

Tunnels

Cory and Mason were asleep in each other's arms in the tunnels beneath Beacon Hills. Mason shook awake, waking Cory up with him. They sat up, standing.

"What are we doing here?" Mason asked.

"It was the only place I could think of," Cory told him.

"Wait," Mason told him. "What do you mean?"

"Scott and Ari can't find you down here," Cory told him. "They can't follow your scent."

"Okay, hold on," Mason told him. "It's not me. I'm not even a genetic Chimera."

"You sure about that?" Cory asked. "It was on the bus. After I made us disappear, I felt something. I don't know how to describe it, but it felt wrong. Completely and totally wrong. And, trust me, every other second I'm with you is completely and totally right."

"It can't be me," Mason told him.

"After we left the bus, I lost you at the game," Cory told him. "Remember? Where did you go?"

Mason was trying to think, but he couldn't remember. "I went to... I was..."

"All those times you said the Beast showed up?" Cory asked. "Everything you said about frequencies? Where were you all those times? The night at Sinema, the observatory downtown, the army base, all the times you said there were transmissions..."

Mason was obviously trying to remember, but realizing that he had no memories of where he was when those events went down, he realized he truly was carrying the Beast inside of him, horrified. He realized that the Dread Doctors could still find him. "Wait. They can still find me. They can find me by frequency."

"Who?" Cory asked. "Scott and Ari?"

"No," Mason answered. "Them."

Cory realized that he meant the Dread Doctors, horrified.

They heard the clicking of the Dread Doctors' approach, becoming terrified.

The Dread Doctors appeared, walking toward them.

Cory grabbed Mason, helping him run out of the tunnels as fast as they could to get away from the Dread Doctors. "Run!"

The Dread Doctors followed slowly and calmly, knowing that they weren't going to get far.

Dread Doctor 1 started to say Mason's name. "Mason."

Mason froze at the sound.

Cory started to climb up a ladder to a street grate above them. "Come on!"

Mason started to follow.

¤•¤°¤•¤

Street

Cory and Mason got out into the street, into the pouring rain, running away from the manhole, underneath a bridge, running as fast as they could.

Dread Doctor 1 said his name again. "Mason."

Mason stopped running out of instinct.

Cory turned back for him. "Mason, come on!"

Dread Doctors 1 and 3 walked closer from underneath the bridge.

Dread Doctor 2 was standing on top of the bridge, jumping down in front of the two boys to keep them from escaping.

Mason and Cory turned around, only to see Dread Doctors 1 and 3 standing in their way.

Cory took Mason by the hand, making them both invisible.

Dread Doctor 1 used his cane to strike out at the air, knocking Cory down to the ground, unconscious.

When Cory woke up, he saw the Dread Doctors taking Mason away, unable to stop them.

There was a black wolf with red eyes.

Scott looked up. He blinked. When he opened his eyes, they were glowing red.

Scott stood alone in a cloud of dust or smoke. Tyler Posey.

Stiles stood at a translucent crime board, adding a few things. Dylan O'Brien.

Stacie looked straight ahead, holding a crossbow in hand, holding it pointing up in front of her face, looking straight ahead. Zoey Deutch.

A Dread Doctor's face appeared.

Ari and Adriana stood back to back. Ari looked to the left, holding her motorcycle helmet in her hands, the irises of her eyes glowing red. Adriana looked to the right, tracing her double infinity tattoo on her wrist, her eyes glowing completely purple. There was water sprinkles everywhere as they both looked up. Katherine McNamara.

Scott and Tara kissed passionately, pulling away.

Tara stood with her back toward you, looking over her shoulder, black blood covering her skin, her body reflecting each other. Victoria Justice.

On the back of Tara's hand, a triskele appeared. The spirals were black. The tip of one spiral was Beta blue. The tip of one spiral was Beta gold. The tip of one spiral was Alpha red. The intersection point was half-breed purple.

Lydia's hair covered her face, her hands held in front of her. She tossed her head back to get it to fall behind her. Holland Roden.

Natalie sat in a chair, half turned, her left leg to the left side of the chair, her right leg in front of it, her left arm lying on the back of the chair. Her eyes glowed gold. Sasha Pieterse.

A double infinity sign tattoo appeared on Adriana's wrist.

Malia was in the woods, her arms raised at her sides. Shelley Hennig.

Kira was in a fighting stance, holding her katana sword raised ready. Arden Cho.

Angel stood within fire, water and electricity, air blowing through her hair. She had her arms raised to her sides as if taking flight. Her eyes were glowing a dark, fiery gold. Ginny Gardner.

Natalie and Liam kissed slowly and softly.

Liam looked to the right. He was completely shifted. He returned to normal, looking straight forward, letting his eyes glow gold. Dylan Sprayberry.

On Scott's arm, two bands appeared, the top band thicker than the other.

The black blood pulled away from Tara's body, almost as it was never there.

Ari stared ahead, letting her eyes glow purple. The purple faded from her eyes, turning into red.

Scott stared ahead. His eyes glowed red. He tilted his head toward his chest.

Chimeras' Lair

Theo, Tracy, Josh and Deucalion were the only ones in the lair.

Deucalion was still hooked up to the wolfsbane drip.

Josh was looking at the Dread Doctors' mask on the table, the one that Theo had stolen from Valack's underground lab. He looked at the others. "You want me to put it on?"

"Yeah," Tracy answered. "You won't die if you put it on."

Josh looked at Tracy. "How do you know that? Or is it just that you don't want to put it on yourself?" He looked at Theo. "Or you?"

"I'm not afraid to do it, Josh," Theo told him. "I'm just not stupid."

"Are you not getting that it could kill us?" Tracy asked. "You're the one with the power."

"They want you to wear it, Josh, because the properties of the mask are based in electromagnetism," Deucalion told him. "Pick it up and you'll see."

Josh slowly, hesitantly picked up the mask, seeing that Deucalion was right. "What is this thing?"

"Product of genius and madness," Deucalion answered. "Two traits too often found in the same mind." While Deucalion was speaking, there were flashes of Dread Doctor 1 creating the mask and other things used for the Dread Doctors. "The man who created the first was known only as 'The Surgeon.' Using practices in the farthest edges of pseudo-science, he harnessed electromagnetic fields in the masks, infusing them with a unique and deadly power."

Josh looked as if he was about to put the mask on, but put it down instead, looking at Theo. "I'm not putting this thing on. You want to know who it is? Do it yourself."

On the Road - Lydia's Car

Lydia was driving. Angel was in the passenger seat. They were on the phone with Sheriff via Bluetooth through the radio and speakers.

"Lydia?" Sheriff asked. "Angel?"

"We just came from my house," Angel told him. "Half of my uncle's stuff was gone, and he left me a note saying that he had to leave town to protect me and everyone in Beacon Hills. You can't let him leave."

"It's okay," Sheriff told them. "I got a call from Dispatch. He's headed for the highway."

"Can you stop him?" Lydia asked.

"Stopping him is one thing," Sheriff told them. "Getting him to turn around..."

"Leave that to me," Angel told him.

Lydia hung up.

¤•¤°¤•¤

Road off Highway

Jordan was driving, seeing tire spikes on the road ahead of him too late, unable to stop before his car drove over them, popping the tires, making him pull to a stop. He got out of the car, looking from the shredded tires to the tire spikes on the road behind him, sighing.

Sheriff was parked in his police car nearby, flashing his lights, getting out of the car, walking toward Jordan. "I don't remember giving you any vacation time."

"Those were new tires," Jordan told him.

"Well..." Sheriff trailed off, walking closer. "Well, they're scrap rubber now. How about I call a tow for you?"

"I'll call one myself," Jordan told him, turning away. Lydia and Angel pulled up in Lydia's car, getting out. Jordan sighed as if he should have known that Angel would have asked Sheriff to stop him. "You're all out of your minds. You know that?"

"You can't leave," Angel told him.

"I can't stay, Angel," Jordan told her. "I'm a Hellhound. I have the word 'Hell' in my name. Hell."

"You're also one of my best Deputies," Sheriff told him.

"And you're a protective as hell uncle," Angel told him.

"You guys don't get it," Jordan told them. "The bodies I see in my dream are because of me. And there's gonna be more. A lot more."

"I've been predicting death longer than you," Lydia told him. "The things I've seen and felt... they don't always happen."

"What if those people die because you didn't stay?" Sheriff asked.

"Because you weren't there to protect them," Lydia told him.

Angel walked closer. "Uncle Jordan, we were drawn to Beacon Hills. I think we're here for a reason. And I think that this is the reason."

Angel showed him her hand, focusing intently to make her nails grow into the long, black talons.

Jordan was surprised, stunned. "That's new."

"The Argents undid whatever the Doctors did to me on my birthday before all of this happened," Angel told him. "The Doctors did something to me to make sure that I couldn't access the Valkyrie. Now I can. I can stop the Beast. I know that I can. But I can't do this without you."

The Loft - Tara's Room

Scott and Tara were still recovering from the fight at the school, too. Scott was still in his lacrosse uniform.

Scott made Tara lay down in her room on the bed. "Tara, hey."

"We gotta find them," Tara told him.

"Tara, I know," Scott told her. "Everybody's looking. We'll figure it out. Right now, you're not going anywhere until you heal, Tara. Okay?"

Tara sighed, giving in, nodding, because she knew that she wasn't going to be able to fight that well until she did heal and get her  strength back. Scott kissed Tara slowly and sweetly to take away her pain. Black veins left her lips and trailed into his. Tara started to calm down more now that she wasn't in so much pain, able to start healing because of it. They looked at each other, smiling small smiles.

Malia stood in the doorway to make sure that Tara was okay. Tara nodded to her in answer. Malia nodded, closing the door to give them some time alone.

¤•¤°¤•¤

Living Room

Stacie, Ari, Stiles and Malia were talking. Stacie, Ari and Stiles were still in their lacrosse uniforms. Malia was looking at Stiles.

"What?" Stiles asked. "What, what did I do?"

Ari looked at Malia. "Tell us. What's wrong?"

Malia sighed. "Ari, you know how my mother wants to kill me and Tara?" Ari nodded. Malia looked at Stiles. "I think she might want to kill you, too."

"Okay, uh, that's disconcerting," Ari told her. "Why does the psychotic bitch want to kill Stiles?"

"To get to me, Ari," Malia answered.

Stiles looked at Stacie. "Stacie, I should probably have a gun."

Ari and Malia looked at Stacie. "Stacie."

Stacie looked at Ari and Malia in surprise, giving Stiles a look, shaking her head. "I'm not giving you a gun."

"Stacie, you have a crossbow and two guns and a lot of knives," Stiles told her. "The Desert Wolf, who is trying to kill me, has a lot of guns. Stacie, I think I should probably have a gun. I know you have a gun with you. Stacie, give me your gun."

Stacie looked at Ari and Malia, torn on what to do.

Ari and Malia nodded to Stacie, then to Stiles for her to give him a gun. "Stacie."

Stacie sighed, turning to her bag on the table, unzipping it, taking out the gun, handing it to Stiles.

Stiles fumbled with the gun, dropping it, causing Stacie to give him an 'I told you so' look.

Stacie caught the gun before it fell to the floor. "You should not have a gun."

¤•¤°¤•¤

Woods

Liam and Natalie were both recovering from the fight too. Liam was still in his lacrosse uniform.

Liam was in the woods, running to try to find his best friend. "Mason? Mason!"

Liam couldn't run anymore, falling to his knees, letting out a yell of frustration.

Natalie ran up to Liam, kneeling next to him, holding a hand to his shoulder worriedly in sympathy. "Hey."

Liam was breathing heavily. "Natalie, you should be home, healing."

"I'm not going anywhere when you need me right now," Natalie told him.

Liam sighed heavily, breathing unevenly. "I lost it. Natalie, I lost the scent."

"I'll help you find it, Liam," Natalie told him.

Liam nodded in agreement. Natalie took Liam by the hand, both of them standing, running through the woods to try and find Mason's scent.

Day Two

Morning - The Loft - Tara's Room

Tara woke up in the morning after having fallen asleep, hearing the pack downstairs talking while she was getting dressed in clean clothes.

She heard Stiles' voice. "Our dad's got an APB out."

She heard Kira's voice. "For a 5'8" 16-year-old?"

She heard Stacie's voice. "We recommended nine foot tall rampaging Werewolf."

Tara smirked, walking out of the room after she was dressed.

¤•¤°¤•¤

Living Room

The pack was gathered, waiting for Tara to come down, standing around the large table in front of the wall of windows.

"It still not might be him," Liam told them. No one answered. "But, Chayton and Hayden are at the school looking."

"I can keep checking the woods," Malia told them.

"Melissa and our mom can check all the hospitals in the county," Ari told them.

Tara walked down the spiral staircase. "We can find him."

They all looked at Tara.

Scott smiled in relief. "Hey, Tara. Tara, you okay?"

Tara walked closer to stand next to Scott, nodding.

"What happens after we find Mason?" Natalie asked.

"We figure out a way to save him," Angel answered. "And kill the Beast."

Liam nodded.

"Okay," Lydia told them. "Where else can we look?"

"Let's ask Cory," Adriana told them, reaching behind her toward the wall of windows, grabbing what she knew would be the chameleon in disguise.

Cory came into view, revealing that Adriana was holding him by the shirt. Adriana pulled at the shirt to pull Cory toward the rest of them forcefully, but had more control over herself than she did the night before (the last two chapters)

Cory stammered nervously. "Wait. Wait. It's not my fault. They took him, and I couldn't do anything. They took him."

"Who?" Scott asked.

"The Dread Doctors," Cory answered.

The pack all looked at each other.

¤•¤°¤•¤

Dread Doctors' Dark Laboratory

The Dread Doctors pushed Mason to the floor in their lair.

Mason propped himself up next to a bubbling tank of green substance with a body inside. "Wait! Don't. Wait, please. Please, don't! No, no, no!" The Dread Doctors attached a long, glowing tube with a needle to the back of Mason's neck. "No, no, no!"

Mason screamed in pain.

Chimeras' Lair

Theo, Tracy, Josh and Deucalion were still in the lair.

Tracy carried the jar of Belasko's talons, all ten of them, toward Theo, putting them on the table in front of Theo. "What about these?"

"They're useless if we don't know who it is," Theo answered.

"Actually, they're just useless," Deucalion told them. "Didn't Chayton or Hayden mention that? Where are they, by the way? I hope their moment of dissent didn't turn into actual desertion." He took a deep breath to see what he could smell, obviously not smelling Cory's scent. "What about the other one? Cory? None of us can see him, blind or otherwise. So, I'm guessing, he's not here either."

Josh scoffed, walking toward the door. "I'm leaving."

Tracy blocked Josh's way.

"Oh, there goes another," Deucalion told them. "Your circle of trust is narrowing, Theo."

Theo glared at Deucalion in annoyance. "Your voice is getting on my nerves. Now I know why Adriana wanted to take you down so badly. Adriana did tell me that you were annoying." Deucalion smirked. Theo looked at Tracy. "Paralyze his tongue."

"You got it," Tracy told him, flicking out her claws, walking toward Deucalion.

"Tell me something, Tracy," Deucalion told her. Tracy stopped walking. "Just how powerless were you before this all happened? In my experience, it's the truly powerless who are all too eager to demonstrate their new-found strength. So allow me to demonstrate something more helpful to our cause. Trust." He started to stand, much to the Chimeras' alarm. He pulled the wolfsbane drip out of his arm, taking off the arm brace. "I told you I wanted Adriana Martin's eyes. That's why I let you take me. Though I have been a willing guest this entire time."

Deucalion let the tube and the arm brace fall to the floor.

Theo still looked alarmed.

Beacon Hills High School - Ken's Classroom

Kira and Ken were talking next to the desk, next to the broken pieces of Kira's sword.

"As your father, I'm obliged to warn you this is dangerous," Ken told her.

"As my father, I was hoping you wouldn't tell my mother," Kira told him.

"That's dangerous, too," Ken told her.

"I get it, Dad," Kira told him. "I need to learn balance. Can't learn balance with the sword. The sword brings out the fox."

"You know it's more complicated than that," Ken told her. "Learning balance is critical to controlling the fox."

"What if the sword is critical to saving my friends?" Kira asked.

"It's just a weapon, Kira," Ken told her. "You're the critical part."

"I've got 800 years to find balance," Kira told him. "We need to help Mason right now. I need my sword."

Ken knew she was right, but knew the danger, sighing. "It was forged with a unique power. It takes a certain power to put it back together. You're going to need help."

"From who?" Kira asked.

"Whom," Ken corrected.

"Who?" Kira asked.

Ken rolled his eyes slightly, giving Kira a look, sighing. "Just pick up the pieces."

Chimeras' Lair

Theo, Tracy and Josh still looked nervous and alarmed now that Deucalion was free and had been a willing captive this entire time.

"Okay," Theo told him. "What now?"

"I teach you what you've been so desperate to learn," Deucalion answered. He ran toward Theo, pushing him against the wall, breaking his arm in his hand, making him groan in pain, taking the pain, making black veins trail between them. "Feel that, Theo? That's the secret to taking power. Pain. Take their pain, take their live, take their power. It's all or nothing." He pushed Theo to the ground. "You take until there's nothing more to give." Theo snapped his arm back into place so that he could heal. "That's where you find the spark of power. And then, you take that as well. Pain. Life. Power. In that order and only that order. The only ones you can take power from without killing them due to their unique ability as transferring Alphas, as half-breeds, to give supernatural creatures power of their own are Arielle and Adriana Martin. That is how I knew how to take their power. Do you understand?"

Theo nodded. "Perfectly." He stood, turning to Deucalion, snapping out his claws as if he was going to hurt him. Instead, he turned to face Josh, pushing him against the stairs, pinning him there, stabbing him in the stomach with his claws, making electrical power surround him, letting his eyes glow gold as he started to take Josh's pain, life and power. The electricity flickering around Josh and Theo made them both scream in pain until Theo finally killed Josh and took his power for himself. He let go of the body, backing away, holding his bloodied, still clawed hand up, feeling the rush of power, on an adrenaline high from it, breathing deeply with his eyes closed, rolling his neck a little. "I can feel it."

"Good," Deucalion told him. "'Cause you just cost yourself one member of a small an inexperienced pack."

Theo looked at Tracy. "What do you think?"

Tracy looked worried that if she didn't agree, that she would be next. "I think he was small and inexperienced. And if you've got his power now, you can put on the mask."

Theo looked toward the mask on the table.

Woods

Jordan and Angel drove out to the Nemeton, getting out of the car, exchanging a look, walking toward it.

Angel knew he was thinking about his dream. "You can still save them. We both can." Jordan put his hand on the rings of the Nemeton. "We can save them all."

Angel put a hand on Jordan's shoulder, looking at him sympathetically.

Jordan saw flashes of his dream and the bodies around it. He saw the bodies of the entire pack, hoping that they could change the dream and save everyone.

Angel put her hand on the Nemeton next to Jordan's. A dark gold, fiery glow began to suffuse the rings of the tree.

  Chimeras' Lair

Theo, Tracy and Deucalion were still in the lair.

Theo was holding the Dread Doctors' mask.

"This kind of power requires risk, Theo," Deucalion told him. "Do it. Put on the mask. Discover the Beast's identity and guarantee your place as an Alpha. As a real Werewolf."

Theo hesitantly put the mask on. It locked on around his head, making him scream in pain as it caused him agony, falling to his knees. "No! No!"

Beacon Hills High School - Hallway

Scott, Ari, Natalie, Adriana and Liam walked down the hallway toward the locker rooms.

"How stupid are we to be doing this?" Liam asked.

"We're not stupid," Scott told them. "We're desperate."

"How desperate?" Liam asked.

"Incredibly desperate," Scott answered.

Ari and Adriana turned to face them.

"Just wait here with Natalie, boys," Ari told them. "He'll talk to us."

"Yeah, it seems that the only one that he likes to talk to other than Adri is you, Ari," Natalie told her.

"Be careful," Scott told them.

Ari and Adriana nodded, walking toward the boys' locker room, opening the door to reveal Theo and Tracy inside.

Theo smirked when he saw them.

Ari and Adriana exchanged a look, sighing.

  ¤•¤°¤•¤

Boys' Locker Room

Ari, Adriana, Theo and Tracy were talking.

"I told you we'd end up on the same side," Theo told them.

"How about I punch you in the face to remind you we're not?" Adriana asked.

Theo smiled, laughing a little. "I love this side of you, Adri."

"I don't," Adriana told him. "And if you love this side of me so much, then why do you keep giving me shots of wolfsbane to help make sure that I don't hurt anyone?"

"I said I would help you with control," Theo told her. "I can't help you with the dark impulses, the thoughts, the things you say. I couldn't help with that if I tried."

"No, you couldn't," Adriana told him.

"We know you're not on our side, Theo," Ari told him. "You said you wanted to help Lydia, but you left Eichen with something else, didn't you?"

"You mean the mask?" Theo asked curiously, amused. "Are you worried about that?"

"Did you put it on?" Ari asked. Tracy looked at Theo. Ari knew what it meant. "Who did you see?"

"Not Mason," Theo answered.

"What's that mean?" Ari asked. "It's not him?"

"It probably means he's a lost cause," Tracy told them.

Adriana held her hand toward Tracy in annoyance. "I'm sorry, why are you even here? Theo, Ari and I can handle this conversation just fine on our own. We've done it before, thank you."

Theo smirked in amusement, chuckling. "We all want the same thing. We want Mason back."

Adriana looked at Theo, scoffing. "Okay, but the difference is that we want him back alive."

Theo stepped closer, looking at Adriana in amusement. "Well, I'm open to compromise." Adriana narrowed her eyes at him slightly, tilting her head. Ari looked between them, confused, wondering what was going on with them that seemed to be more than usual. Theo and Adriana looked at Ari; Theo was still amused, while Adriana was a little flustered. "You still got the map with telluric currents on it?" Ari nodded. "Bring it to the operating theater in two hours."

"We're bringing Scott, Natalie and Liam with us," Ari told him. "Mason is Natalie and Liam's friend, and neither they or Scott trust you or your Chimera pack not to hurt us."

Theo shrugged. "The more the merrier."

¤•¤°¤•¤

Hallway

Ari and Adriana walked out of the locker room, into the hallway, toward where Scott, Natalie and Liam were waiting.

"How desperate are we?" Liam asked.

"Incredibly," Scott answered.

Ari, Adriana, Scott, Natalie and Liam walked away.

¤•¤°¤•¤

Boys' Locker Room

Deucalion was also in the locker room, having heard the entire conversation, wearing his glasses, snapping out his cane. He walked toward Theo and Tracy.

"We don't need them to find Mason," Tracy told them.

"But you'll need them if you want Mason to trust you," Deucalion told them.

"I can't take the power from him, can I?" Theo asked.

Deucalion shook his head, walking closer. "No, only the Beast. But since the full moon is getting dangerously close, the opportunity might present itself sooner than you think."

"Good," Tracy told them.

Deucalion looked at Theo. "As soon as you see that opportunity, take it. If Scott and Arielle figure out a way to save Mason, you won't get another."

"But we've seen that thing up close," Tracy told him. "How are we supposed to stop him when he's the Beast?"

"You're not going to stop him," Theo told her. "You're going to paralyze him."

"Me?" Tracy asked. "Are you serious? It didn't work on Angel."

"It didn't work on a Valkyrie," Deucalion told her. He grabbed Tracy by the wrist, making her claws come out. "The Beast is still a Werewolf. Just keep the tanks full, Tracy. We'll need all you've got."

Tracy pulled her wrist away from Deucalion, glaring at both him and Theo, walking out of the locker room.

Sheriff's Station - Office

Stiles, Stacie and Sheriff were talking.

"Still nothing from Ari, Adriana, Natalie, Scott and Liam," Stiles told them. "Stacie, are we really sure this is a good idea?"

"Uh, no," Stacie answered. "No one thinks this is a good idea."

"But you're trusting Theo anyway, Stacie?" Sheriff asked.

"We're not trusting him," Stacie answered. "We're using him."

"Stacie, what if he's using us?" Stiles asked.

"Yeah, well, that's probably a given," Stacie told them. "But, look, we're just trying to cover every place Mason could show up. Malia and Tara are at the loft."

Sheriff nodded. "Melissa and Macey got the hospital."

"Hayden and Cory are at the school," Stiles told them. "Chayton is with Angel in the woods."

"Somebody's got to find him," Sheriff told them.

Stacie sighed heavily. "Let's hope they find Mason, and not the Beast."

Woods

(Song:) Walk Through The Fire - Zayde Wolf feat. Ruelle

Angel found Chayton in the woods of the Preserve, walking toward him.

Chayton turned to face Angel. "Hey, Angel."

"Hey, Chayton," Angel told him. "Chayton, have you seen anything?"

"No," Chayton answered. "I had his scent, but I lost it."

"All right, Chayton, well, Ari, Adriana, Natalie, Scott and Liam are going to Theo for help to look for Mason before the Dread Doctors make him turn again so that we won't lose him to the man of Gevaudan," Angel told him.

"Are you really sure that's a good idea?" Chayton asked.

"Nope," Angel answered. "But we're incredibly desperate at the moment." Chayton nodded in agreement. "That's why I came to you." Chayton looked at Angel in curiosity. "The Argents helped undo what the Doctors did to me. They somehow blocked me from going full Valkyrie before because they knew that I could help stop the Beast. And now, well..."

Angel let her eyes glow a deep, dark, fiery gold, letting her nails turn into talons, and letting the wings grow from her back.

Chayton was in shock and awe, smiling. "All right."

"It's a little hard to control it," Angel told him. "Chayton, I do have most of it under control. The only trouble is..." She looked at her wings. "I have no idea how to use these things."

"And you come to me because after you had your first encounter with the Beast, after I came back from the dead, I told you that I could teach you how to fly sometime," Chayton realized.

Angel nodded. "Yeah. Chayton, you told me that in the library at school after I found out Theo used my blood to bring you back from the dead. Did you mean it?"

"Absolutely," Chayton answered.

"Could you really teach me, Chayton?" Angel asked. "How to fly? Like, right now?"

Chayton chuckled, nodding. "Absolutely."

Chayton let his falcon wings grow.

They looked at each other, smiling.

Operating Theater

Scott, Ari, Natalie, Adriana and Liam met up with Theo in the operating theater.

Adriana was looking at an empty tube, flashing back to newly recovered childhood memories. "That's where they kept the body with the green slime."

Theo smirked. "Remembering more now, are you, Adri?"

"What is she talking about?" Ari asked.

"There was a body here," Adriana answered. "They called him Der Soldat."

"Ari, can you tell me what that is?" Theo asked.

"It's German for 'The Soldier'," Ari answered.

"I'm pretty sure he fought in World War II," Theo told them.

"And he was a Nazi," Adriana told them. "And an Alpha Werewolf."

"So what?" Liam asked.

"So, the Dread Doctors were using him to prolong their lives," Adriana answered. "They've been doing it for decades."

"Actually, probably longer," Theo told them. He turned to face Adriana. "And memories like these coming back to you is the reason why the Dread Doctors wanted to kill you, in case you remembered too much, Adriana."

"Yeah, well, that's all I remember about this guy, so they don't have to worry," Adriana told them.

"That's all they ever told you about this guy before I helped you get free," Theo explained.

Adriana looked at Theo, but when he saw her looking, she looked away. Theo smirked a little, knowingly.

"How old are these guys?" Natalie asked.

"Who knows?" Adriana asked. "But wherever they go, he goes, too."

"So how do we find him?" Scott asked.

"Keeping him alive requires a pretty unique set of conditions," Theo told them. "There's got to be a power source. It has to be underground."

"And on a telluric current," Natalie finished.

Adriana pulled out the map for the telluric currents, handing it to Theo.

Theo took the map, looking at Adriana, smirking. "Looks like we're going for a hike."

Adriana crossed her arms over her chest, looking at Theo, sighing.

Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital - Waiting Room

Macey and Melissa were working, standing nearby the reception counter. Lydia was standing with them.

The paramedics ran in with a patient on the stretcher.

"We got a hit and run," one of the paramedics told them. "Victim is a black male, approximately 16 years of age. Blood pressure is 80 and dropping. We need to get him into surgery, Dr. Martin."

Lydia, Melissa and Macey looked at the patient that looked a lot like Mason, but it wasn't Mason.

Melissa turned to Lydia and Macey. "Nothing here."

"Call the others, let them know," Macey told her. "I gotta go. Patient needs surgery."

Lydia nodded in agreement. "And I'll keep looking."

Macey walked off to help the patient.

Lydia walked off to call Stiles.

Sheriff's Station

Stiles was on the phone with Lydia to be kept up on speed.

Stacie walked past Stiles, on the phone with Tara and Malia. "Anything on your end?"

Tara and Malia were in the loft.

There was a line of Mountain Ash at the doorway to the loft so that they would be safe inside, with Corinne after them.

"Not a thing," Tara answered. "Stacie, I'm gonna lose my mind if I don't get out of this supernatural cage."

"Well, Tara, you've already lost your mind, multiple times before," Stacie told her.

"Look who's talking, Stacie," Tara replied. "Very hilarious."

"The Mountain Ash is there to keep both of you safe," Stacie told them. "Scott wants both of you to be safe at the loft, so you are both going to be safe."

"Stacie, I should be keeping Stiles safe," Malia told her.

Stacie looked toward where Stiles bumped into the wall. "He'll be fine. I'm with him."

"Stacie, you may have been taught how to use weapons from a Werewolf hunter and you may have been taught how to fight by Derek, my other cousin, a former Alpha Werewolf, but I don't think you would do well in a fight against my mother," Malia told her.

Stacie sighed. "And I don't like it when people underestimate me, you know. Call me if anything changes."

They hung up.

Corinne had been listening to their phone call, now knowing where Tara and Malia were, smirking in amusement, turning around, walking away to head to the loft.

Woods

Chayton was standing behind Angel, as he was teaching her how to launch into flight and land on the ground without getting hurt, or without crashing. Angel was nervous because she had never tried before, and they both knew that it would take a while for her to master the new ability. They both looked at each other, smiling small smiles, kissing slowly and passionately for a long moment, then building up in heat and passion.

The Loft - Living Room

Tara and Malia were both restless with having to be stuck in the loft with the Mountain Ash.

Malia sighed, sitting down to start to munch on peanuts in boredom, offering Tara some. "Tara, want some?"

Tara shook her head. "I'll pass. Thanks."

Malia shrugged, continuing to eat and lay out the peanut shells on the table.

Tara started to pace, walking toward the wall of windows, looking out of the windows toward the ground outside, so that she could watch the sunset.

Night - Woods

Scott, Ari, Natalie, Liam, Adriana and Theo were walking through the woods, searching.

"We're close," Liam told them.

"You get his scent?" Scott answered. Natalie and Liam nodded. "Which way?"

Natalie and Liam didn't answer, looking at Theo.

"You two think you're going to leave me behind?" Theo asked.

"Natalie, Liam--" Scott started.

Liam turned to Natalie because he knew that she was just as worried about Mason as he was because they were all friends. "Natalie, he wants to kill him."

"I just want his power," Theo told them. "You want to fight someone that actually wants to kill Mason? Go fight Parrish and Angel."

"Angel and Parrish don't want to kill Mason, dumbass," Ari told him in annoyance. "They want to save him, but kill the Beast."

"Good luck with that, Ari," Theo told her.

"Who did you see when you put on that mask?" Natalie asked.

"I already told you, Natalie," Theo told her. "It wasn't Mason."

"Who was it?" Natalie asked impatiently.

"I saw a man dying in the snow," Theo told them. "He was impaled on a spear."

"It's called a pike," Adriana told him. "Angel and Lydia told us the story."

"Then all of you know what it means," Theo told them. "Time's running out. Where is he, Liam? What direction, Natalie?"

Liam hesitated. "This way."

Natalie and Liam led the way toward an underground door. Liam went to open it.

Natalie grabbed his shoulder to stop him. "Listen."

They heard a heart beating.

Liam looked up. "Natalie, it's him."

¤•¤°¤•¤

Dark Laboratory

Liam opened the door, walking in. Scott, Natalie, Adriana, Theo and Ari followed him inside, down ragged looking stairs underground.

"Mason?" Liam asked.

They continued to walk until they got to the dark laboratory

Mason was sitting on the floor, leaning against a tube with green liquid, to attached by a glowing tube needle to the bubbling tube of Der Soldat. Scott, Ari, Natalie and Liam ran to his side worriedly. Adriana and Theo watched them from a little distance away.

"It's connected to him," Natalie told them.

They all looked at the tube of Der Soldat.

Kira was leaving a voicemail for Ari next to her car. "Hey, it's me. Oh, God. I wish you just picked up. I hate leaving messages. I always ramble. I always say stupid things. And then when I finally get to the super important thing that I'm supposed to say, the voicemail cuts me off, and..." The voicemail beeped, cutting her off. Kira sighed, leaving another message. "Me again. I have to leave. But I'm coming back to help. I promise. Because you and Scott are right, Ari. If anyone is going to save Mason, it's you. It's us."

Kira hung up, getting into her car, driving away.

Dark Laboratory

Scott, Ari, Natalie and Liam were still kneeling next to Mason and the tube of Der Soldat. Adriana and Theo were watching them and the door to see if anyone was coming.

"What is this thing?" Liam asked.

"I don't know," Theo told them.

"Liam, I can feel it," Mason told him. "It's in my skull, Natalie."

"Don't move," Scott told him. "Careful."

Natalie looked at Adriana and Theo. "What are they doing to him?"

"I don't know," Adriana told them.

"Guys, let's focus," Ari told them. "Mason, we're gonna get you out of here." She looked at Natalie and Liam. "Hold him still." Natalie and Liam gently held Mason from either side to hold him still. Scott and Ari looked at each other, nodding, each of them grabbing either side of the large needle embedded in the back of Mason's neck. "Okay. All right. We're going to to pull it out. Let us know if it hurts."

Scott and Ari barely moved the needle to try to pull it out.

Mason screamed in pain, groaning loudly. "It hurts!" Scott and Ari let go. "It definitely hurts."

"We barely moved it," Scott told them.

They heard the electronic clinking and energy crackling sound when they knew that the Dread Doctors were near.

Adriana and Theo looked at each other knowingly, both annoyed that the Dread Doctors were here, turning to look at Dread Doctor 1, as Deucalion had called him the Surgeon, behind them.

Sheriff's Station

Stiles was sleeping on the couch in the main room of the station.

Stacie walked out of Sheriff's office, hitting Stiles on the head to make him wake up.

Stiles gasped, sitting up. "Hmm? What? What happened? Who's dead?"

Stacie rolled her eyes. "No one. At least not yet." She sat on the couch next to Stiles, looking at her phone. Stiles pulled out his phone, looking at it. They saw that no one knew anything new, sighing, putting their phones away. "You okay?"

Stiles nodded. "Yeah, I'm still thinking. Still trying to figure out, why Mason? I mean, he wasn't even on the genetic Chimera list."

Macey and Lydia walked toward them.

"He is now," Macey told them. She showed them a file. "Mason was born with twin embolization syndrome."

Stiles and Stacie stood, walking closer.

"She means fetal resorption," Lydia told them. "He had a vanishing twin in utero."

"Which accounts for two sets of DNA," Macey told them.

"Can someone please say it with words that have less than three syllables?" Stacie asked.

"He ate his twin," Macey explained.

Stacie was shocked. "Oh, my God."

"But did it help?" Stiles asked.

"I don't know," Macey told them. "But it's just bizarre enough to sound like it might be important, right?"

"It has to help," Lydia told them. "There has to be something."

Macey flipped to the next page in the file, showing them the ultrasound picture of the unborn Mason eating his unborn twin.

Dark Laboratory

Scott, Ari, Natalie and Liam were still kneeling next to Mason and the tube of Der Soldat.

Adriana and Theo were still facing the Dread Doctors.

Theo looked at Adriana in realization. "They wanted us here. Adri, I didn't know."

Adriana knew that Theo didn't want her in a trap with the Dread Doctors, sighing. She looked around to see the two other Dread Doctors standing on either side of the room as Theo and Adriana.

Scott looked at Ari, Natalie and Liam. "Guys, we have to get that thing out of his neck."

The two Dread Doctors on either side of Theo and Adriana hissed, stepping closer.

The Surgeon hissed electronically. "Adriana. Adriana Martin."

"Hey, guys," Adriana told them. "Long time, no see. He's coming with us."

"Your genetics, our experiments on you, helped lead us to this creation," the Surgeon told her. "Because your being a half-breed, your unwilling cooperation helped us in the creation of the Chimeras."

Adriana was clearly affected by memories with them that she didn't want them to see, not realizing that she was reaching for her double infinity sign tattoo on her wrist on instinct because of the memories playing in her head due to the Dread Doctors terrorizing her about the memories. Theo looked at her knowingly, but Adriana looked away, taking her hand away from the tattoo.

Mason gasped in pain. "Get out of here. Just go."

The Surgeon looked at Adriana. "We learned from you."

"Adri, he's trying to get to you, to make you angry, to make you snap," Ari told her. "This is what they want. Don't give it to them."

"We can't beat them," Liam told them.

The Surgeon looked at Adriana. "Taking what we learned from you, it only failed when the source of power wasn't close. You're the source of the Chimeras' power. You were a gateway to getting what we wanted. This is because of you."

Adriana looked away, getting angrier and angrier, more overwhelmed.

"Adri, don't listen to him," Natalie told her.

Adriana shifted, letting her eyes glow completely purple and canines grow, looking at the Dread Doctors. "We're taking Mason. And I'm getting a little revenge."

Adriana roared angrily.

The Loft - Living Room

Malia and Tara looked out of the windows to see that night had fallen.

Malia looked at the alarm system to see that the red light wasn't on. "Tara? Isn't that supposed to be blinking?"

Tara sighed. "Yep."

"What does it mean if it's not?" Malia asked.

"That someone cut the power so the alarm doesn't go off," Tara answered.

"It means she's here, isn't she, Tara?" Malia asked.

"Yeah," Tara answered. "Go upstairs."

"Tara..." Malia trailed off.

"Malia, go upstairs," Tara told her.

Malia nodded reluctantly, walking quickly up the stairs.

Tara heard someone walking up the stairs from outside the loft, turning to take cover behind a wall for protection. (Slow motion)

Tracy opened the door, breaking the line of Mountain Ash in the doorway so that Corinne could walk in. She found the bottle of Mountain Ash by the doorway, using it to pour a new line of Mountain Ash at the door so that Corinne was trapped in here with Tara and Malia. She walked away, leaving the loft, leaving them to fight.

Beacon Hills High School - Library

Chris and Gerard were in the still-trashed library from the light between the pack and the Beast.

"Mason?" Gerard asked.

"Mason Hewitt," Chris answered. "He's a sophomore. Liam and Natalie's friend."

"And a mass murderer," Gerard told him.

"We're going to need to tell Scott and Ari the rest," Chris told him.

"Not necessarily," Gerard told him.

Chris gave him a look. "If there's a way to save him..."

"The pike won't save him," Gerard told him. "It'll kill him. Mason Hewitt is gone."

"But you still can't tell me where it is," Chris told him. "How do we know it's not a steel cup gathering dust in someone's antique collection?"

Gerard smirked in amusement. "Oh, I think it's closer to us than that. We'll find the pike. Whatever shape it's in."

"If we can't, then we're going to need a lot more firepower to take on the Beast," Chris told him.

Jordan and Angel walked in.

Gerard and Chris turned to face them.

"How much firepower do you want?" Angel asked.

Jordan let his eyes glow with fire. Angel let her eyes glow a deep, dark, fiery gold.

Dark Laboratory

Scott, Ari, Natalie and Liam were still kneeling next to Mason, trying to take the tube out of his neck.

Theo and Adriana were still facing the Dread Doctors.

Theo shifted, letting his eyes glow gold and canines grow, hair on the side of his face, looking at the Doctors. "Let him go."

"You have the entitlement and narcissism typical of your generation," the Surgeon told him. "In that, you are a profound success."

"'In that'?" Theo repeated.

"You are a failure," the Surgeon told him.

Theo looked at him angrily. "I'm not a failure."

"Not a complete failure," the Surgeon told him. "We also learned from you. The mark of a true failure. Repeating the same mistake again and again."

Natalie and Liam held Mason still.

Scott and Ari tried to pull the needle out of the back of Mason's neck.

Mason screamed in pain.

Theo and Adriana looked toward them.

"We--we can't get it out," Liam told them.

"I don't know what to do," Natalie told them.

The Surgeon looked at Theo. "Your failure taught us one thing. The banality of evil. That you were and would always be an ordinary evil."

"You think I'm ordinary?" Theo asked.

"We believed that to resurrect the perfect killer, we had to start with the perfect evil," the Surgeon told him. He looked at Adriana. "From you, we learned true evil only comes by corrupting something truly good. You were something truly good when taken. We turned you into something truly evil. Before the power inside of you turned you into something in the middle."

"Not something," Scott told them.

Ari looked at Mason. "Someone."

Dread Doctor 2 held its hand toward Adriana, the fingertips starting to glow with energy and electricity. Adriana pushed it back, punching it in the face three times.

Theo tried to punch Dread Doctor 3. Dread Doctor 3 raised an arm to block the move. Theo punched it in the face with his other arm. Dread Doctor 3 punched him in the face. Theo punched him repeatedly.

Ari stood, kneeing the Surgeon in the metallic stomach, punching it in the face repeatedly. The Surgeon tried to punch Ari. Ari raised an arm to block the move.

Natalie held Mason still.

Liam tried to pull the needle out of his neck.

Mason screamed in pain. "Liam! Natalie!"

The Surgeon swung an arm to hit Ari in the back, pushing her into the wall.

Dread Doctor 2 punched Adriana, making her back away.

Dread Doctor 3 pushed Theo to the ground, using electronic pulses from his fingers to weaken Theo to continue beating on him. Scott ran closer to push Dread Doctor 3 away, punching him and slashing into him repeatedly.

Adriana pushed the Surgeon back into the wall. The Surgeon gripped Adriana by her throat, using electronic pulses to start to weaken her and electrocute her, trying to kill her. Theo and Ari ran closer to tackle the Surgeon away from her.

Natalie held Mason still.

Liam continued to pull the needle out of his neck.

Mason screamed in agony.

Everyone stopped fighting, looking at them.

Liam and Natalie finally pulled the needle from Mason's neck, letting it fall.

Mason stood, gasping, groaning in pain.

"Transformation," the Surgeon told them. Smoke started to gather around Mason. "Transformation without frequency."

Mason's eyes started to glow completely white like the Beast's. He didn't seem to be himself, pushing Liam and Natalie back into the walls, making them fall to the floor.

"Mason!" Liam told him.

Mason breathed heavily, his voice demonic, the smoke completely enveloping him. "That's not... my name."

The smoke swirling around him transformed Mason into the Beast. The Beast growled.

The Loft - Upstairs Hallway

(Song:) I Ran - Hidden Citizens

Malia knew that Corrine was in the loft with her and Tara, walking toward the stairs worriedly.

¤•¤°¤•¤

Living Room

Still taking cover by the wall, Tara could hear Malia upstairs walking down the hallway toward the stairs, knowing that she had to stop Corinne from getting to her. Corinne walked closer with her gun raised. Tara spun out from behind the wall to kick Corinne in the face. Corinne tried to shoot her. Tara ducked to the side to make her miss, punching her in the face, kicking the gun out of her hand. Corinne drew another gun, trying to shoot her. Tara pushed the gun up toward the ceiling so that the shot fired up at the ceiling instead of her.

Upstairs Hallway

Malia was walking along toward the stairs. The gunshot fired through the floor up toward her. Malia barely managed to avoid getting shot.

Living Room

Tara and Corinne both struggled with the gun to pull it away from each other. Corinne fired it again at the ceiling to see if she could shoot Malia through the floor up there. Upstairs, Malia kept away from the gunshots as best as she could, never knowing where the next one would come. Tara twisted the gun out of Corinne's hand to aim it at her, trying to shoot her, but the gun clicked, meaning that it didn't have any bullets left. Corinne smirked smugly. Tara used the gun to hit Corinne in the face, making her fall to the floor. Corinne grabbed the first gun Tara had made her drop, aiming it at Tara to try and shoot her.

Tara ducked behind the table for cover. "It was a mistake to come here, Corinne. I love a cage match."

Corinne smirked in amusement. "That's ironic, Tara. Your mother may be dead, so I can't kill her. But I can kill you."

Tara sighed, tilting her head slightly. "Then give me your best shot. Because neither of us are going anywhere."

Desert

Kira had returned to the desert in the night. She laid out the pieces of her sword on the sand. She looked around, calling out to the Skinwalkers. "I know you can hear me. I need your help. Maybe I failed your test. Maybe I don't have control yet. But I'll do whatever I have to. Whatever it takes. Please. Tell me how to save my friends."

Wind started to howl all around Kira.

The three Skinwalkers appeared from out of the darkness, walking toward her.

"Kira," Skinwalker 1 told her.

"We can help her," Skinwalker 2 told them.

"But it comes with a price," Skinwalker 3 told her.

"Everything has its price," Skinwalker 1 told her.

Kira looked around the Skinwalkers that surrounded her nervously, willing to do whatever it took to save her friends, even if it meant coming back to stay with the Skinwalkers.

Beacon Hills, California

Dark Laboratory

Scott was thrown into the wall, falling to the floor.

Natalie and Liam knelt next to Scott.

Adriana and Ari stood together.

Theo stood against to the Surgeon, shifted.

The Beast grabbed Dread Doctor 2, squeezing it completely, letting its body fall to the floor.

Dread Doctor 2 writhed in pain, but otherwise seemed unable to move.

The Beast growled, grabbing Dread Doctor 3, ripping its head off, letting the head and the body fall to the ground.

Everyone looked at him in shock.

The Beast slashed into Theo's chest, making him fall into the wall. It approached the Surgeon.

"Success," the Surgeon told him.

The Beast grabbed the Surgeon, dragging him outside, leaving.

Scott, Natalie, Liam, Ari and Adriana exchanged a look, running toward the door.

Adriana hesitated at the door, looking back at Theo.

Theo was breathing heavily in pain, no longer shifted, holding his slashed chest in agony.

They heard roaring outside from the Beast, Scott, Natalie and Liam as a fight ensued.

Ari looked back at her sister. "Adri, we have to go."

Adriana looked at Ari, running outside to chase after the others.

Ari looked at Theo, running after Adriana.

Theo knew that some part of Adriana felt bad for him getting hurt but didn't have the time to do anything about it, smirking knowingly, groaning in pain as he held his wounds.

Outside

Scott, Natalie, Liam, Adriana and Ari followed the Beast and the Surgeon outside.

The Beast let the Surgeon fall to the ground.

Angel had wings grown to completion, flying closer, kicking the Beast in the chest, making it stumble back away.

Jordan ran closer, on fire, roaring at the Beast.

Chris and Gerard walked closer.

Chris had a shotgun, shooting the Beast repeatedly in the chest.

The Beast turned to run away.

Chris continued to shoot him repeatedly in the back until he ran out of ammo.

Angel picked up Jordan, spinning around, throwing him into the Beast. Jordan punched the Beast in the face with fire, making it fall from the strength of Angel's throw and Jordan's hit. Jordan and Angel landed on the ground. Angel's landing was still a little sketchy being that she was new to the flying and landing.

The Beast transformed into Sebastian instead of transforming back into Mason.

"La Bete Du Gevaudan," Gerard told him. "I know your name. Do you remember mine?"

Sebastian looked over his shoulder toward Chris and Gerard, glaring at them. "Argent."

Sebastian ran away, leaving.

Jordan was still on fire, roaring, running after him, leaving.

Scott, Natalie, Liam, Adriana and Ari ran toward Angel, Chris and Gerard.

"Who the hell was that?" Natalie asked.

"You've seen the Beast of Gevaudan," Chris told them. "That was the man."

"Sebastian Valet," Angel told them.

They were in denial that Mason was gone forever and they were left with Sebastian.

Angel took a running start, jumping up to start flying away in the direction that the Beast and Jordan had taken off in. (slow motion)
