Warnings: injury (not in too much detail), tiny bit of blood mentioned and again addiction is mentioned, but not in too much detail

"Just tell me that it looks bad" Jaeyun said, eyes closed, like if that would guard her from bad things said about it.

"I won't"

"That's lying then"

"No, it's not" Yua said from behind her back "it would be lying to say it looks bad" she explained and kneeled next to Jaeyun, her perfume finally getting to her. The scent was warm, but also refreshing and a little sweet. Jaeyun didn't know anything about perfumes, but Yua always managed to smell nice, welcoming even.

She finally opened her eyes and looked at herself in the mirror. She knew that if their company had chosen that hair colour and that new haircut for her it meant she was going to look good with it. That didn't mean she wasn't scared. They had finished the recordings for their new songs a few days ago, so that meant the next step on their to-do list was to get their new hair colours, and that's where they were at now.

Her hair was long before, and now it was short, just above her shoulders. And it was also pink now. She liked pink, it was her favourite colour actually, she just wasn't sure if it was the right fit for her, but according to her hair stylist (and all of the members) she looked good.

And she did.

"Oh" she said, finally reaching to touch it "it doesn't look bad"

"I hate to say I told you so, but-" Yua started, but got interrupted when Jaeyun smacked her chest "okay" she stood up, grabbing Jaeyun's shoulders from behind her "you look good, amazing actually" she said and smiled at her.

"I..." Jaeyun didn't know what to say. Yua knew about her struggles with low self-teem, that's why she was being so pushy about her looking good. It didn't matter how many times people have told her that, she still felt weird when she heard compliments "tha... thank you" she finally said. God, it feels weird, she thought, making a disgust face without realizing.

"Don't" Yua smacked her shoulder lightly "it's okay to say thank you to compliments, especially when they're true" she made sure to put emphasis in the last word.

Jaeyun smiled shyly and rested her chin against Yua's hand.

"But seriously, you look good" Yua said "can't wait to see you break twitter when forevers find out" she added, pinching Jaeyun's cheeks in the process, making Jaeyun laugh.

"You're right" Jaeyun said as she stood up.

They both walked out of the room with their arms locked together. With the light change you could see better the purple in Yua's hair.

"Oh my god you look good!" Nara said as soon as they walked out. She also had a change in her hair. It was now black with a few blonde locks, one at the front in her bangs and other through out the rest of her hair. Were those called highlights?

Raon stood up "I knew it" she said with a smile, her blue hair making her skin look lighter.

"I... know" Jaeyun said, embarrassed.

"Kinda sad I'm the only one without a fun colour" Mari said from the couch she was sitting on "god I miss my red hair"

"The fans are gonna love your black hair eonni" Nara told her with a smile too.

Before anyone could say anything else, their manager walked in.

"Ladies, the car is waiting for you" she said while looking at them. They all nodded while putting on their hats to cover their hair. With Jaeyun's hair it was easy because it wasn't too long now, but she could see Raon and Yua struggling with their long hair. They all walked out of the door, but the woman stopped Jaeyun by her arm "I need to speak to you"

"If it's about the song I am so sorry, I'm really working on-" Jaeyun started apologizing but was cut off by her.

"You don't have to apologize" her manager said, which made her look at her with narrowed eyes, she was expecting to get scolded "Miss Raon told me you were really busy learning the choreography for the cover" she explained after seeing Jaeyun's confused face "we still have time before the deadline, but make sure to work on it" she said before adding "and to take care of yourself"

Oh shit she knows, Jaeyun thought, but tried to ignore the uncomfortable feeling.

"Sure" she replied before walking out.

Today they were shooting the en o'clock episode, which apparently was going to be in an ice rink. Jaeyun's hair had been styled with a half ponytail and two small locks hung at the front. She kept playing with one of the locks, curling it around her fingers.

"Stop that" Yua whispered at her while they were walking inside the rink "the hair stylists are gonna get mad at you for messing it up"

Jaeyun only nodded and brought her hand down. She was wearing one of her favourite rings (her sister gifted it to her when she got accepted to BigHit), so she decided to fidget with it.

They had talked with an expert before getting inside of the rink, even though part of the filming was going to be Sunghoon helping them around the ice, the expert mostly told them some safety measurements they had to take.

They were now sitting on the first row of plastic seats in front of the ice rink. They weren't filming yet, so most of the Evermore girls (and Enhypen on their side) were using their phones to kill the time.

Jaeyun looked away from her phone just in time to see Yua tweeting four pictures. She wasn't able to see them in detail, but she recognized the practice room at their company. Yua was also wearing a beanie on the pictures, she had to cover her purple hair.

"When did you take them?" she asked.

"Last night, a little bit after you left" Yua said, saving her phone in the pocket of her jacket "gotta make them think we're not filming this" she added with a sarcastic tone.

Jaeyun chuckled, in that same moment one of the staff members brought them their ice skating skates, so she thanked them and started to put them on.

"God this feels weird" Yua said as she tied one of them "does it feel weird to you or is it just me?" she asked Jaeyun after she finished tying them, both standing up.

"I haven't worn them in a while, but it doesn't feel weird to me" Jaeyun said while helping Yua stand up.

"You know how to ice skate?" a voice said from behind Yua. Jaeyun raised her head to look behind her friend and saw Sunghoon looking at her.

"Oh" Jaeyun exclaimed when she realized he had asked "I only know a little bit" she explained "my dad had a friend that worked at an ice rink back in Argentina, so we went there often with my family"

"You never told me about that" Yua said, slapping her arm lightly.

"I didn't?" Jaeyun asked, this time in almost a whisper.

Yua only nodded before the had to walk to where the small door to the ice rink was. They didn't step in yet, they were just standing there, leaning against the walls around the ice.

Sunghoon was the first one to step into the ice, Jaeyun wasn't sure if they were supposed to follow him, but one of the staff members told them Sunghoon was going to perform something before the actual episode started.

Enhypen's debut song "Given-Taken" started playing from the speakers around the ice rink, so he started his performance. The way he slid around the ice, the only word Jaeyun could think of to describe it was graceful, because it was. Just like with dancing, Sunghoon had an ability to seem so light while skating. In the middle of the performance, the song shifted to Evermore's debut song "Starry night", earning a cheer from the girls.

When his performance finished, the rest of the enhypen members and evermore started clapping and cheering. Sunghoon smile while tilting his head down, too shy to look at them. He slid towards the small door that separated the ice rink and the place where they had been watching him. Before they could get into the ice, some more of the staff members walked into the ice to place some plastic chairs for them to sit down.

What they had to do was simple. They first had a practice round for the ones who don't know how to ice skate (basically everyone except Sunghoon, Jaeyun and Heeseung). When they stood up of the small plastic chairs, Jaeyun slid towards Yua to pair herself up with her, but before she could grab her hand the staff stopped them.

"We'll choose the pairs" one of them said to her "Jaeyun, you'll be with Sunghoon"

She nodded and turned to look at him. Funny enough, he was standing next to Jake. He smiled at her when they made eye contact.

Jaeyun slid towards him while the staff kept saying the other pair. Heeseung and Jake were paired up together; then Raon and Jungwon; Mari and Sunoo; Nara and Niki. Lastly, Yua and Jay were paired up together.

Jay was wearing a black sweater under a cream white padded jacket and black pants. His hair was covered by a black beanie, but she could see some locks of his hair, that was now blonde. She was also wearing a beanie, just like him, but her hair was longer than his, so everyone could see her pink hair. Sunoo had complimented it when he saw it and she had thanked him.

When they all started skating around the ice, both Sunghoon and Jaeyun agreed to go help their members. Sunghoon was probably going to be more helpful than Jaeyun, but she still wanted to try.

She skated towards Yua and Jay "You guys need help?" she asked, more to Yua than to him.

"It's not as hard as I thought" Yua said, eyes glued on her feet, like if that would prevent her fall "those YouTube videos I watched last night help"

Jaeyun chuckled "you watched videos before this?"

Yua lifted her head to look at her "I was... curious" she said while shrugging her shoulder "and I couldn't sleep" she added, followed by a yawn. By adjusting her posture while yawning, she ended up falling on her back.

"Shit!" she whispered-yelled, knowing the staff wouldn't be happy with her cursing.

"Oh crap!" Jay said, standing next to her, talking for the first time since Jaeyun had arrived.

"Jay step back, I got it" she said, signalling him to move with her hand.

"Wha- Are you su-" she interrupted him before he could finish talking.

"Yes! God!" she yelled, accidently getting the attention of the rest of the members in the ice rink. "Just... back away against the wall to hold yourself" she said to him and turned to Yua "this is gonna sound weird, but trust me"

"That's the only thing I can do right now" Yua answered with a playful smile.

Jaeyun chuckled again and extended her hands "Move your skates against mine" she instructed.

"What?" Yua asked, confused.

"Like... put one of your feet in the middle of mine and the other on the other side so I can help you get up"

Yua nodded, whispering something about her butt freezing and did as she was told. Then Jaeyun asked her to grab her hands, quickly pulling her up.

"There you go" she said, brushing her hands against Yua's padded jacket, like of she was cleaning dust.

"Thanks bro" Yua said with a smile, clearly as a joke.

When she started sliding away from her, Jaeyun blinked multiple times "what the f-" she was about to say, but she stopped herself when she realized a camera was pointed at her, so she smiled awkwardly and waved.

Should I make a bet with Yua to see how many people say I'm cute on twitter? She thought.

After that, she kept skating through the ice rink, but the only members who, for now, needed help, were getting it from Sunghoon, so she just kept skating.

She hadn't done it in years, she never realized how much she missed it. Sliding on the ice almost felt like flying, the memories with her sister in that ice rink rose inside her mind. She remembered laughter and races with her sister; how they both learned at the same time and how her sister loved it so much that actually considered starting to learn it professionally.

"Hey" a voice said behind her, Jay. She stopped and turned to look at him "can we talk?" he asked.

"Right now?" she asked in return, looking around for the staff, very few of them were focusing on them, but she didn't want to risk it "Jay I don't think so-"

"Please" he cut her off.

For some reason her heart softened when he said that.

She grabbed his elbow "fine" she said "say whatever you want to say and I'll pretend like I'm helping you" she explained as she started sliding through the ice.

At first, he didn't speak, focusing on his feet while skating. She watched him for a second, looking on the way his lips pouted when he focused on something. Kinda cute.

Jaeyun was about to give up when he finally opened his mouth to speak.

"Sorry if I scared you" he said, making Jaeyun suddenly look at him with a confused grin "the other day... during the photoshoot" he explained.

"Are you talking about when you grabbed my arm?" she asked in return.

"I just want to say, I'm sorry" he said "it was wrong of me to do that, I was just... worried"

Why did that word coming out from his mouth make her heart feel like that?

She turned her head to the side, hoping she wasn't blushing.

"It's... fine" she managed to say "you don't have to apologize for that" it was weird to say that to him "believe or not, I'm trying to quit" she didn't mention what just in case one of the staff members could hear.

Jay understood immediately.

"Thank you" he said, what he didn't say was that he never thought he would hear her accept an apology from him.

She let go of his arm and skated away towards Yua, who was having a hard time skating too.

She was about to speak to her friend and ask her if she needed help (which was obvious) but before she could do anything Sunghoon grabbed her arm.

"There it is" he said, looking down at her feet. As he instructed her what to do to get better balance, Jaeyun could see how her friend was getting a light blush on her cheeks.

Someone screamed from the other side of the rink, startling the rest of them. Jaeyun turned her head just in time to see Niki and Nara falling on the ice.

She locked eyes with Sunghoon, who was still holding Yua's hands. "I got it" she told him and skated towards them. She helped the young pair with the same trick she had used for Yua.

"Are you okay?" she asked Nara while brushing away some of the ice from her black padded jacket.

"I'm fine eonni" Nara answered.

"Niki-yah!" Sunghoon said from afar, skating towards them. Jaeyun noticed he had his hands in his pockets without losing balance. She rolled her eyes playfully, show off.

Niki told him he was fine and brushed it off as nothing.

"Well, good thing you guys are okay" Sunghoon started while skating farther to look at all of them. Jaeyun narrowed her eyes while looking at him as he grabbed her arm and brought her with him "because you guys" he pointed at Nara and Niki "and others" he quickly added "made a common mistake" he turned to look at Jaeyun and grabbed her hands, making her blush now.

Jay didn't know why he felt like his blood was boiling while he watched that.

"When you're skating with a partner, you're not supposed to grab each other's hands" Sunghoon kept explaining "because if one of you falls, the other one will too"

Everyone nodded and yelled "yeah" in unison.

Throughout the rest of the shoot they played some more games, again going in with pairs of two, but this time against each other. The hardest game, according to Jaeyun, had definitely being the limbo on ice game. The rest were fine, she even managed to win a few.

Now, they had to do a warm up for the final race. According to the staff, the winner got a prize, but they didn't know what.

While the rest were warming up by skating through the rink in circles, Jaeyun sat down on one of the plastic chairs in the middle to untie and tie her skates again, they didn't feel tight enough. She had taken off her padded jacket to be more comfortable during the race, but she was still wearing a pink sweater.

As she bent down, the helmet she was wearing fell on her face, so she kept pulling it up while also tying her skates again.

The helmet fell again.

"Ugh this fucking-" she was cut off by the staff.

"Don't curse please"

"Sorry!" she yelled as an apologize while holding her helmet again, finally getting tired and taking it off for a second to fix it.

Looking down, she checked if the laces of it had to get tighten or something, but nothing seemed to be wrong with it, so she lifted her head to put it back on just in time to see Raon falling not too far from her.

"Oh shit" she whispered, quickly getting up and leaving the helmet on the seat next to her. She heard one of the staff members telling her to put it back on, but she still skated towards Raon.

"That fall looked hilarious" she said, letting her skates slide slowly towards her "but also painful, you good eonni?" she asked after.

"Fuck you" Raon said with a smile "why don't you have a helmet?"

"I took it off to fix something" Jaeyun extended her left hand towards her "c'mon, let me help you"

She was going to do the same method that she used with Yua, but it was probably stupid to think that Raon had seen her do it before, specially when Jaeyun felt how Raon tugged her hand to get up, causing her to fall.

"Oh shit" Raon exclaimed.

As soon as Jaeyun fell, she felt a sharp pain on her right wrist. Her hand had stayed in a weird position when she fell on the ice, she had tried to stop herself from falling fully on the ice, and now her wrist hurt.

"Fuck" she said to herself against the ice, turning around to lay on her back, holding her wrist against her chest.

"Oh my god you're bleeding" Raon exclaimed, which made Jaeyun open her eyes wide.

"What?" she exclaimed back, more pain coming from her eyebrow as she raised them.

"It's not too much, don't be scared" Raon said and turned her body to look for one of the staff members, moving her arm to signal them to come where they were.

"My wrist hurts" Jaeyun said to Raon just in time for the staff member to hear.

"What?" Raon exclaimed, scared.

"What?" the staff member exclaimed too. The poor woman looked tired.

"I fell on top of it by accident" Jaeyun explained.

Dumbass, she thought to herself, but quickly brushed it away, it can happen to anyone.

As if on cue, she heard someone else fall.

"Jay!" she heard Heeseung yell from the other side of the rink and saw Jay on the floor. He had taken his jacket as well (a lot of them had because of the race) and had fallen on top of his arm.

"Jaeyun" the staff woman called her, making Jaeyun turn her head to look at her "let me see your wrist" she extended her hands.

Even the slight movement of her arm brought pain to it, so Jaeyun moved it carefully. As the woman inspected her wrist, she moved back the sleeve of her sweater. You could clearly see her wrist was swollen.

Oh fuck.

"Can you move it?" the woman asked.

Jaeyun tried "I don't think so"

She heard the staff mutter something under her breath, probably a curse "we're gonna have to call the paramedics" she said, looking back at Jay too, who was talking to other member of the staff "Stay right here" she instructed Jaeyun "Raon, help her take her skates off"

Raon nodded as the staff left, that's when Jaeyun realized she wasn't wearing skates and was just walking through the ice with her running shoes. Raon started untying Jaeyun's skates, muttering to herself stuff like "oh shit, oh shit" and "why are they so tight?"

"Hey" Jaeyun said, making Raon stop for a second "It's okay, I'm okay" she wanted to put her hand on top of hers, seeing how it clearly was shaking while untying the shoelaces.

Raon went back to untying the skates "I'm sorry" she said.

"Eonni it wasn't your fault" Jaeyun quickly said "I should've told you to not do that, it's fine"

"Still" Raon said, finally taking her skates off "that doesn't mean I don't feel guilty"

(Ngl, the chapter was going to be longer but I decided to write the rest in next week's chapter)

Originally they were going to get stuck in an elevator on the Hybe building, but when I watched the ice skating en o'clock I thought this was a better idea (also apparently in South Korea it doesn't happen too often that the power goes off?? So I guess this is a little bit more realistic)

Also, dear FBI agent that checks my browsing history: no I did not sprain my wrist or dislocate my shoulder at 2 am, I'm a writer. (now that I think so, it probably doesn't help that I searched "how do you dislocate your shoulder")
