Chapter 18

The first thing on the Three Warriors' agenda was to ask their friends if they saw or heard any signs of who the criminal was.

They went up to Chad's apartment and knocked on his door.

Meg answered it.

"Meg, you're home?" said Sam.

"Yeah. Why are you guys wearing your Three Warriors uniforms?" said Meg.

"Obviously, Chad didn't tell her much" said Charles Wallace.

"We just had a major crime in Actorville, Meg. Jill's been kidnapped and we don't know who took her or why they did" said Calvin.

"That's why we're here to speak to your husband" said Sam.

Meg nodded then let her friends in.

Chad was on his couch drinking tea with Jeremy.

"A major crime? Eh, there never seems to be a dull moment in Actorville" said Jeremy.

"You said it, J Dawg. Now, Chad, we have not been able find any evidence. Batman and Robin are working on one of my bullets. But we'd like to know if you saw or heard anything that might allude to who this crook was" said Sam.

"Yes, now that you mention it. When they grabbed Jill, I saw the crook's back. It wasn't covered by a bulletproof costume" said Chad.

"And what did the crook's undergarment look like?" said Calvin.

"It was green. It was too fancy to be an undergarment" said Chad.

He led the kids into the hallway and showed them the walls, which were painted bright green.

"That's how green the fabric was?" said Sam.

"Yes. There's your evidence, kids" said Chad.

"Wait. I remember that. I think I was able to catch the material it was" said Calvin.

"What was it, Calvin?" said Jeremy.

"It's kinda complicated. We're gonna have to discuss it with Batman and Robin" said Calvin.

The crime had dug so deep into the kids' minds, they didn't know they were standing right on the edge of the building's staircase.

But they soon realized they were as soon as Chad took a step backwards, fell down and slid down the stairs.

"Ugh. Why does everything happen when we try to make a plan?" said Calvin.
