Chapter 7

At the pajama party, Meg was helping Patty put her hair curlers in her hair.

"What are you doing, Meg?" said Patty.

"I'm trying something new; you always have it the same" said Meg.

"No. You've got the curlers facing down. The curlers are supposed to be facing up" said Patty.

"Patty, I've never used curlers before" said Meg.

"Well, if you need help, you could have asked me how to do it" said Patty.

Jill was rummaging in the closet as Sam put on her socks.

"Meg? Would it be alright if I borrowed one of your dresses?" said Jill.

"Sure, but they might be a little small for you" said Meg.

"Oh, that's alright" said Jill.

Then she looked at Sam and said "Sam? Do you know Paul's favorite color?"

"Blue; why?" said Sam.

Jill searched the closet for a blue dress and found one that sparkled.

"How about this?" she said.

"Golly; it's... it's beautiful, but... what do you want it for?" said Patty.

"I want to wear it tomorrow in case I run into Paul on the way to work" said Jill.

"I'm not sure the sheriff wants one of his officers out of her police uniform at work" said Sam.

"I know. But if Paul sees me in this dress tomorrow, he'll see me in blue. So the next time he thinks of his favorite color, he'll think of me" said Jill.

"Holy cannoli! That's cool!" said Patty.

"Jill, hon, why should Paul influence what you choose to wear?" said Meg.

"She has a thing for him, Meg. Me and the boys saw that a while before this sleepover" said Sam.

"And what's the matter with one of the Beatles being in control of her? Didn't he used to be in control of you?" said Patty quickly.

"Yes. But I find it coincidental. Chad and I are married and now our exes have things for each other" said Meg.

"Yeah... it's kind of a 'thing' triangle" said Sam.

"More than a triangle. How about a 'thing' square or something?" said Patty.

Jill laughed. "Meg... how should I approach Paul?"

"Don't ask me. When I met him, he didn't want anybody to approach him" said Meg.

"Yeah, we were the lads' big break" said Sam.

"I don't understand" said Jill.

"Paul has the strongest emotions I've ever seen. If you wanna approach him, do it when he's calm" said Meg.

"And just be yourself. That's what normally counts with the Beatles" said Sam.

"I s'pose. But he seemed so sad before" said Jill.

"It's Paul. When he's sad, you have to get what you're given" said Sam.
