Chapter 13

The Beatles looked over at Sam's table and saw how pretty Jill looked.

"She's in blue. Probably did it for you, Macca" said George.

"Yes... but still, she looks beautiful in my favorite color" said Paul.

"Have you figured out how to ask her out?" said John.

"I told you, John. I'm gonna ask her for something more permanent. And yes, I figured it out" said Paul.

"What are you gonna do?" said Ringo.

"I'm gonna ask for it in the language she's used to hearing from me" said Paul.

"So in other words, you're gonna sing her your feelings" said John.

"You took the words right out of my mouth, Lennon" said Paul.

"Then what are you waiting for? She didn't wear your favorite color for nothing" said George.

"You're right, George. Wish me luck" said Paul.

"Good luck, Paul!" said John.

"You can do it!" George encouraged.

"Good on ya!" said Ringo.

Paul jumped onto the stage where the Mellomen were.

"Uh, sirs? Do you mind if I sing a little something?" he whispered.

As the Mellomen agreed, Sam saw the whole thing.

"That's Paul. I think he's gonna sing" she said.

"Sing what?" said Dick.

Sam shrugged.

Paul was instructing the Mellomen how to sing along with him.

"I need something fun to hear, a little bit repetitive, romantic. Eh?" said Paul.

The Mellomen agreed to that too and sang backing vocals while Paul sang lead on his song.

Jill

I love you so, I always will

I look at you and you see the passion (Mellomen: Ooooh)

Eyes of May (Mellomen: Eyes of May, aaaah)

But am I ever gonna see my wedding day? (Mellomen: Wedding day)

Oh, I'll be on your side, Jill

If you were losing (Mellomen: If you were losing)

I'd never scheme or lie, Jill

And there's been no fooling (Mellomen: There's been no fooling)

But kisses and love won't carry me

Until you marry me, Jill (Mellomen: Until you marry me)

All: Jill!

I love you so, I always will

Paul: And in your voice, I can hear the voice

Of Actorville (Mellomen: Actorville)

Oh, but am I ever gonna hear my wedding bells? (Mellomen: Wedding bells)

I'll be the one to come running

If you are lonely (Mellomen: If you are lonely)

I'll never live one day not

Loving you only (Mellomen: Loving you only)

But kisses and love won't carry me

Until you marry me, Jill (Mellomen: Until you marry me)

All: Jill!

I love you so, I always will

Paul: And though devotion rules my heart

I take no bows

Oh, but Jill, you know I want to take my wedding vows (Mellomen: Wedding vows)

Come on, Jill! (Mellomen: Come on, Jill)

Oh, come on, Jill! (Mellomen: Come on, Jill)

Come on and marry me, Jill! (Mellomen: Come on and marry me)

All: Jill!

I love you so, I always will

Come on and marry me, Jill!

Mellomen: I love you so, I always will (Paul: Yeah, yeah! Oh, marry me, Jill)

Come on and marry me, Jill! (Paul: Yeah, yeah, come on and marry me, Jill)

I love you so, I always will

Come on and marry me, Jill!

All: I love you so, I always will

Paul: Oh, will you marry me, Jill?

Jill, stunned at how the song was for her, had no idea what to say or do.

"Oh my gawrsh! Did he just propose through a song?" said Sam.

"That is so Paul!" said Charles Wallace.

Paul came off the stage and faced Jill.

"Jill... you look beautiful tonight. I just couldn't resist" he said.

"But we've only known each other a few days" said Jill.

"I know. When the moment is right, you don't have to wait anymore" said Paul.

Jill smiled shyly then looked down.

"Jill... I do love you" said Paul truthfully.

"And you proposed to me in a song" said Jill.

Paul was afraid she was gonna reject him, but she broke out bawling, hugged him and said "What took you so long?!"

"So..." Paul began.

"So yes, my answer is yes. I will marry you" said Jill.

All of Actorville applauded as Paul and Jill kissed to seal their engagement.
