♡ kagehina - and there was a pool ♡

something short i wrote on the bus :)

~

Moving in together was a big decision, but Kageyma and Hinata felt that they were ready for it. They certainly were, too, they'd gotten decent with picking healthy foods and handling money.

Choosing an apartment was the smart idea, (considering their price range as two students), space wasn't the problem, and stairs wouldn't be a bother when legs were already everything in volleyball.

Their apartment was nice, decorated minimally with sport themed decorations in Karasuno colors, seeing as their favorite colors each happened to be the other's hair. (coincidence, right?)

It was a nice apartment complex, there was a small cafeteria in the lobby and a gym - and a pool.

Hinata loved to swim, he could swim for hours. Kageyama, too, loved to swim, but he wore out much quicker.

So the pool brought the biggest challenge of living on their own - work/school time vs. swimming time. (swimming time happened to win more often than not.)

"Kageyama-kun," Hinata sang, "It's Saturday."

Kageyama nodded, barely paying his boyfriend mind as he spared a glance over his piles of homework. "It is."

"And the swimming pool is empty."

"Empty?!" Kageyama shouted, feeling like crying. "Why'd they take out the water!? Are they out of water?!"

"No! No!" Hinata laughed, "I meant there isn't anyone in there. There is still water in the pool, Silly-yama!"

Kageyama huffed, leaning back in his chair. "You're the one who didn't specify!"

"Yeah, yeah, but let's go swimming!"

"But-"

Hinata didn't wait for Kageyama's response, he just dragged him out with their towels and swimsuits in hand.

"We have a test Monday!"

"And," Hinata grinned, "We have a pool to swim in."

"You're right."

Kageyama had given up on studying as soon as he saw the water - yeah, maybe a break wouldn't hurt. "I'll race you to the bathrooms!"

After changing it was time for swimming, and swimming is what they did. Hinata cannonballed straight into the water while Kageyama took a planned dive that ended in a belly flop of sorts.

It only took five minutes to start throwing water and chaos to take it's position,

Water splashed along the edges, daring one of them to slip on their way up to the diving board and Hinata laughed so hard he swallowed a ton of water and almost drowned. (NOT a pleasant experience, he'd swoon to Kenma later, but a memory of Kageyama saving him one he'll cherish forever.)

And Hinata, in all his brilliance, decided it was a great idea to show off his pool gymnastics, and while they were impressive, sometimes his feet ended in Kageyama's face.

When Hinata found the water guns in the closet war broke loose, and to say the least several times they had to pause to get water out of one of their eyes while the other apologized greatly because they'd gotten water in their eye only minutes before and they knew that it hurt.

Nobody was surprised when they showed up to class Monday morning with no idea what they were doing in class and water still in their ears.
