Chapter 35

*Tajwar Pov*

"What is it, Mridula? It is getting too late for you to return to the room." I said finally after four days when she walked inside at the usual time.

"I have work!" she replied, not even looking at me and started walking towards the washroom.

"Today I am not going to let you walk away." I said, holding her wrist and pulled her into my embrace making her look at me.

"But I really had to work. Aahil too stayed with me until now." She said, fidgeting in my hold.

I stilled in my position remembering how they both were laughing today when I returned home between discussing the matters. I brushed away the thoughts before glancing at her face.

"This work will not be there after the engagement right?" I asked, placing my other hand over her cheek staring into her eyes.

"No!" she mumbled but didn't move from her place, and I smiled before kissing her, to which she responded after a minute.

"Ok! I was asked to buy myself a proper attire for engagement. Shall we go tomorrow and buy them for both of us?" I asked releasing her.

"Morning?" she asked, frowning while glancing at me, to which I nodded.

"Ok!" she replied, walking away and I smiled before moving towards the bed thinking maybe we can spend some time together making up to the time when I said we will go outside, but we didn't.

The next day, after getting ready, I walked outside the room and started climbing down the stairs. I smiled at Mridula, who is standing at the end and stood beside her.

I glanced up only to frown at my sight before and placed my hand immediately over hers holding it tightly.

"What is this?" I asked her in a whisper.

"Everyone needs to buy the attires as well. I thought why don't we all go and even finish small shopping for the party." She replied in a whisper.

"We have to pick up Amrin from the flat, and she wants to speak to you, Mridula. So, why don't you travel with me and also Aahil Bhai who needs to be with you to buy the needed things?" Dileep said smiling at her, and she nodded before removing my hand.

"Let's go! And will you hold the baby for a second?" Nipuna asked moving near to me.

"No!" I replied, walking away, ignoring everyone looks and moved near to the car before getting inside it.

Nipuna sat calmly during the drive and just held the baby for herself. As expected, we reached early and waited for them.

"Don't behave like I am torturing you. If not for Mridula's request, I wouldn't be with you. I can sit along with them, but she thought you would be alone, so I am with you. Remove that scowl face right now." She ordered glaring at me before walking away.

I sighed before rubbing my forehead thinking how I showed my anger on her and the baby. Didn't I explain it correctly or doesn't she want to spend the time with me only? I thought, shaking my head.

Finally, they arrived, but the women walked in another direction while we three walked in another. Dileep and Aahil started taunting each other, and I talked to them a little before selecting one.

"Now, we need to take one for Dad." Aahil mumbled, and they both started searching but couldn't select one.

"How would we know which one will suit him?" he added sighing.

"I know someone who can, Bhai, can you go and bring Mridula?" Dileep asked, looking at me, and I nodded before walking away towards the ladies department and searched for them.

"Ok! I think this is perfect for you." I heard Amrin's voice and turned to see Mridula is standing before a mirror wearing a half-saree model something.

"I never wore this type." She mumbled tugging the cloth around her waist.

"This is the new fashion, and you should wear this or something else which I will choose myself." Nipuna threatened and Mridula immediately turned around.

"Ok, ok! I don't want and western dress." She said and glanced up only to meet my stare.

"Dileep and Aahil couldn't select anything for dad, and they are calling for you." I said, as a matter of fact, not knowing what else to say.

"Our shopping is finished and you guys are still doing it? We thought you three would be bored to death by now." Nipuna commented before getting up.

"You go and change, but select this one only because we know you liked it. We both will be near the others, and you come with him." She added, taking the baby from Amrin and they both started walking away.

"Do you need help with anything?" Amrin asked her slowly to which she shook her head in negative.

Mridula walked inside the changing room while I stood outside for a minute before turning around only to see her peeking outside. I moved near to the room with a questioning gaze.

"Can you please call someone? I need a little help." She mumbled, looking everywhere except my face.

"I can help you." I said, looking around and saw no one near to us.

"Ok!" she reluctantly agreed and slowly turned around just a little, but I moved inside seeing a few people staring at this side.

I placed my hand on her back before removing the buttons which appear to be really tight, but released a breath when the final one came undone.

"Thanks!" she said, and I glanced up to meet her stare through the mirror.

"You are going to select this one, right?" I asked, placing my hand on her bare back making her still for a second before she slowly nodded.

"Good! This one really suits you." I mumbled brushing my fingers over her back before walking outside the room.

After she changed, we walked near to the others and saw that they are contemplating between three suits. Dileep pulled her towards them and made her stare at three of them.

"Mridula! Just select the one which would Mom like to stare at." He instructed.

"When did you start thinking like this regarding them?" Amrin asked him frowning.

"The way they are behaving these days made me think like that." Dileep replied winking at her.

"You think she can select as Aunty?" Nipuna asked him smiling.

"You don't know her, Bhabhi. She is the image of our Mom." He said rolling his eyes at her, and Mridula moved away from him before selecting the one.

"Great! Let's go to the gift shop." Aahil said, dragging her away and everyone followed them while I stood in my place.

Will I ever get her alone at all? I thought, shaking my head and thought of leaving the matter, knowing well the function is taking away her time.

"Finally!" I said the moment Dileep and Amrin exchanged their rings, making Mridula look up to stare at my face.

"What? You will not have any more work right?" I asked, to which she gave a confused look before walking away looking great today.

After nearly every guest left, I moved near to her and thought of retiring to the room early along with her, but Dileep rushed near to us.

"Mridula! I need you to make Mom accept for Amrin to stay here for today." He said pleadingly and she slowly nodded before we all moved near to Mom.

"Aunty, it is really late, and maybe it would be good if she stays here with all of us." Mridula slowly started to which Mom frowned.

"She doesn't have anyone right now. She will be sad." Dileep said, and Mom gave him a thoughtful expression.

"She can stay at the guest house." Mridula offered to which Mom sighed.

"Fine! But he needs to stay here, and she needs to stay there." Mom ordered before walking away shaking her head.

"Thank you so much, Mridula." Dileep said, hugging her and walked away to inform the others.

We both stood beside each other in silence until Nipuna told us to come near them. When we reached the garden, we saw all of them sitting down on the chairs placed there in a circle.

"I worked very hard for your engagement. You need to show me the gratitude." Aahil commented to Dileep the moment we sat down.

"Please! We all know who worked more." Dileep said, shaking his head.

"No! You can't ignore my work." Aahil said stubbornly.

"Really? You don't think your crush did more work?" Dileep asked making everyone still whiel Amrin frowned at them.

"Who is his crush?" she asked frowning.

"Mridula!" I replied when no one opened their mouths.

"Why did you have to bring that up?" Nipuna asked Dileep glaring at him.

"Why did I have to say it to you? I remember! I said it when you assumed something." Aahil said nodding to himself.

"Aahil! No! Don't say it." Nipuna said, glaring at him.

"What is the assumption?" Amrin asked, and Dileep shrugged frowning at them.

"She thought Dileep has a crush on Mridula or worse even like her." Aahil said making Nipuna hit him for a few minutes while I stilled in my place before taking the glass of water from the nearest table.

"That's it! But what will Mom say now if she hears this?" Dileep said frowning.

"I still didn't understand why Mom shouted at me like that." Aahil added and I too want to know that.

"You know!" suddenly, Dileep said, staring at Mridula, and she closed her eyes.

"How do you know that she knows?" I asked him frowning.

"It was written all over her face." Dileep replied.

"See? They both were always like this knowing each other just by looking at their faces, so I thought like that." Nipuna said defending her assumption.

"How did you both become friends?" Amrin asked smiling at her.

"He said he is the prince of Ivaan." Mridula started smiling at him.

"And she said I am not because I don't have a crown or a horse, and that she is not a kid. We became friends." Dileep ended, smiling at her.

"Now, if the topic is enough diverted, can we know the reason for Mom's shouting?" He added, and Mridula fidgeted in her place which I started drinking my water.

"Ok! I heard Aunty and Uncle talking a few days back. She said if she knew Aahil's interest before then she would have got me married to him." She replied and I immediately coughed hearing the words.

"What?" we all asked, and she nodded looking down.

And then everyone started laughing after a minute, but I just looked at her. They all changed the topic, and I frowned, thinking about their words.

Everyone stood up to leave for their rooms as it is getting late and Mridula started mumbling to check everything, but I held her hand before dragging her to our room ignoring her protests.

After locking the door, I turned around to see her looking at me with a frown. She started moving towards the washroom, but I stopped holding her wrist and pulled her to me before pressing her to the wall.

"What did I do?" she asked, frowning after coming out of the shock with sudden moments and started fidgeting in my hold.

"Nothing! So, do you need help with anything?" I asked, moving my hand behind her back and started removing the buttons one after the other.

"I can do it myself." She mumbled, but leaned forward so that I can do it properly.

"Will you thank me again?" I asked, raising my eyebrow.

"What else should I say?" she asked looking away.

"This!" I mumbled before kissing her and tugged her to me, to which she held me back before moving her hands in my hair.

"Want to thank me more?" I whispered, moving back a little and walked her towards our bed and laid her down.

"I want to thank you though." I added when she didn't say anything but just stared at my face and caressed my cheek when I hovered her.

*Amrin Pov*

"You need to be here for the wedding, sir. I will not forgive you if you don't attend." I said in a strong voice talking to Tanmai.

"Of course! Congratulations again." He said before hanging up.

I smiled to myself and turned around only to take a step back in fear along with trying to release a shout, but he placed his hand over my mouth.

"It's me!" he whispered, coming out of the curtains, making me sigh in relief.

"You scared me, Dileep." I said placing my hand over my heart.

"Sorry, sorry! I just came here without making any sound and used the same technique here too." He explained chuckling.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him frowning.

"I thought to do some office work." He replied shrugging.

"Ok! I will go and sleep." I said, shrugging back before moving to walk away, but he held my waist before pulling me to him.

"You are looking amazing today." He whispered, brushing his lips over my face making me blush.

"Will you blush even when we become old?" he asked and I hid my face against his neck before hugging him.

"You need to go. Aunty will not be fine with this." I mumble lifting my head.

"She will not even know about it." He said, shaking his head and lifted me into his arms before walking towards the bedroom.

When he was about to kiss me, his phone started ringing making both of us. He lifted it mumbled who is it at this time and put it on the speaker as he got himself busy with removing my saree.

"Hello!" he said, fumbling with the pin.

"Tomorrow, both of you meet me directly after coming outside the guest room." Aunty said before the line went blank, and we sat stunned.

"Is that... is that my Mom?" he asked and I groaned covering my face.

He sighed and started removing my saree again and swatted his hands away, gazing at him in shock.

"What are you doing?" I asked in shock.

"She already knows and I will get scolding tomorrow. Let us enjoy now itself and who knows how long we will be separated." He replied, smiling before kissing me, and I chuckled kissing him back.

"You are mad." I mumbled tugging his shirt.

"You are accused!" he mumbled back, and I laughed at his words kissing him.
