Chapter 15

*Nipuna Pov*

"Thank you for your time." I politely said and hung up the phone.

What should I do now? I thought tapping the phone on my forehead and heard someone clearing their throat.

"What?" I asked him, frowning without opening my eyes already knowing who it is.

"There is just one week left. There is still time to accept your defeat." He said mockingly.

"Really? I didn't know that you know how to count the days at all. I am really glad you know how to do it." I said, giving him a bright smile, opening my eyes for which he glared at me before stepping outside the room.

I don't know what happened because of which he is acting like a jerk, and I don't even know what to do to win this bet.

I sighed and opened my phone to browse through some other artists name, and then I saw the news column in a site. Why is she in the news? I thought before opening it.

Amrin is a painting artist? Who would have thought? I continued to stare at the news about her exhibition yesterday and immediately stood up, feeling a light switching inside the brain.

I took a deep breath and called her on the number which she gave when Mridula and I stayed at the flat. I just hope she is not angry at me for the statement and also for leaving the house, even after she told us to stay.

"Hello?" She said lifting the call.

"Amrin?" I asked her nearly stopping my breath.

"Yes! Who is it?" She asked, and I took another deep breath.

"I am Nipuna. I hope you remember me." I replied.

"Of course! How are you?" She asked in a normal tone.

"I am fine! Can we meet?" I asked her and gave her the address when she accepted to.

"Hey!" She said, sitting before me, and then I sighed in relief.

"I didn't think you would come." I said before ordering coffee for her and a milkshake for myself.

"Why wouldn't I?" She asked frowning.

"Well, that day we both left from your flat, even though you asked us to stay for breakfast right." I explained skipping the point where I kind of gave a bitchy comment when we met at the balcony not wanting her to remember it.

"I do not know about the work involved in the big mansion to do, but I do know about responsibilities." She said shrugging.

"Heck with the responsibilities." I said, remembering how bad I am in them and how I am feeling useless and shook my head but then saw her eyes widen with my words.

"I am sorry! I had my emotions and hormones under control until a few days, but now with the stress, I am unable to." I added groaning.

"What happened?" she asked frowning.

"That does not matter now. Anyway, I saw today's newspaper and must congratulate you first." I replied, smiling not wanting to burden her with my emotional roller coaster.

"Thank you! It is still the beginning." She said smiling back.

"I need a small help from you, Amrin. You can say no if it is too much." I said, but wished with my everything that she will not say no.

"What is it?" She asked, and I nodded before explaining the social work for many orphanages and old-age homes.

"At present I need funds for these both. Many prominent society people are involved, but they will not give money by themselves. We are deciding to conduct a charity show with art first and then many ideas later. Can you help us doing an exhibition?" I asked, pleading her and nearly joined my hands, but stopped myself.

"I would be more than happy, but I am just a beginner. You guys would get more funds with some professional." She suggested.

"The organizers don't want to go with this idea, but I am pressuring them. At present, we don't have money to pay to the artist or shall I say they do not want to so that I will leave the idea. I will purchase the supplies, and you just need to do it without advance, but I will pay later." I said, lying to her that actually my husband got his screw loose because of which I am in this situation.

"Let's forget about the money and tell me when is the show." She said smiling, and I felt bad for lying to her like this, but one day I will tell her hoping she will understand.

"Next week!" I said awkwardly.

"Next week? It is impossible to finish the work." She said frowning.

"I know! But can you try please for this six-months pregnant woman?" I said pleading more.

"Ok! I will try." She said, nodding slightly.

"I know you would do this. Now, I can sleep peacefully at night." I said sighing in relief.

"And I should be awake at night to finish the work." She commented and we both laughed, but I felt guilty inside for throwing the work on her.

"I know it can be problematic with Dileep. But you don't worry because I will ask him the permission." I said smiling.

"No need to do that. I will tell him by myself." She said, smiling back and we both left to our different places.

Finally! Now all I have to do is just book a hall and then everything will be fine along with those paper's burning. I smiled to myself and stepped inside the room to see him sitting near a table working something.

"Looks like someone is happy." He commented, glancing at me.

Should I tell him? But if I do, then how much chance is there for him to do something to stop her. I mean, if Dileep asks her to stop the work, then she will be right, and Dileep will ask that if Aahil asks him too.

"I am asking you something. Where have you gone in your thoughts?" he asked, flicking his fingers before my face.

"Nothing! Just met some friends." I replied, shrugging and he immediately stilled in his stance.

"Will you waste your time like this with your friends or will you do something to at least come near to the participation of the bet?" he asked in a hard tone.

I smiled sweetly at him and placed my hand over his shoulders encircling them around his neck. He narrowed his eyes, but I moved completely near to him still smiling.

"My dear sweet husband! Do not concern yourself with me so much. You will get dark circles under your eyes, and the people will think the reason for it as something else like drug use and alcohol addiction and all." I said in a low voice.

"What the hell!" He said trying to release himself from my hands.

"So, think about happy thoughts. Like I am going to win this bet, and we will burn the papers together enjoying the warmth from them. See, how warmth we can already feel just thinking about it." I said, closing my eyes and leaned my head over his shoulder.

"That will not happen." He said, but didn't push me away.

"I know that you 're worrying too much, but do not. I am Mrs.Vishwanth, and I can do anything." I said before leaving him and walked near to the cupboard while he just mumbled to himself so much and left the room.

I chuckled and immediately went into work to book a hall in advance by using the money in my savings account but not organization money. I will take it on the last day! I thought, grinning to myself before getting more work done.

"Aahil! Get ready." I said waking him up after two days.

"Why?" he asked, pushing my hands away.

"I have an appointment today." I replied waking him up again.

"I will not come." He said turning away.

"What? I cannot go alone, Aahil." I said frowning.

"I do not care." He said, and I hit him with the pillow before walking outside the room and climbed down the stairs.

"Did anyone come with you?" Doctor asked, looking at the results, and I shook my head in a daze as usual whenever I hear the heartbeat of my baby.

"I asked you to take care of yourself. I thought you would but seems to me, you are becoming weaker. It will endanger the baby's life." She said, and I came out of my thoughts.

"What?" I asked her in shock.

"Do not stress yourself again. Try to be in a joyful environment along with taking healthy food. I am saying this for your baby's safety only." She said and gave other instructions which I nodded before stepping outside.

"Are you ok?" I heard Aunty asking me.

"I am fine!" I said, brushing away the sweat and gave her a smile before taking the elevator not wanting to cause any harm to the baby.

"What happened? Mom said you were sad." Aahil asked in the evening entering the room.

"I am fine!" I replied, not looking up from the file in my hands.

"Hello?" I asked, lifting the call.

"Everything is finished, Nipuna." I heard Amrin's voice and I immediately smiled.

"Thank you! I will arrive in a few minutes. Honestly, I got scared thinking what will I will do tomorrow if the work is not finished." I said, climbing down the stairs.

"I will help you in arranging them." She said when I reached nearly to her working room.

"No need for that. Go and get a rest." I said, smiling and she reluctantly left while I called for Function hall services to take all the work.

After finishing the work on the invitations, I asked the manager of the hall to help me with distributing them. It took nearly five hours to finish that work and also being careful not to let the organizers know about it.

I rubbed my neck and sat on the bed to already see him sitting on it while reading a book. I lay on the bed and heard him clearing his throat.

"What?" I asked him without opening my eyes.

"Tomorrow is the final day. Nothing will change if we wait until the last minute." He replied, making me roll my eyes without even opening them.

"Everything can change in a single day and in a single hour." That's all I replied before drifting off into sleep.

"Good afternoon!" I said entering the meeting room and saw that Aahil is not there for my luck.

"Are you here to inform that the trail has failed?" One member asked smiling at me.

"No! I am here to invite you guys for the trail." I replied before passing the invitations to all of them and then left the room.

I took a deep breath and then glanced at the mirror before placing the earrings and then looked aside to see Aahil entering our room.

"Will you go on a date with me, Aahil?" I asked him smiling.

"Why? To make me change my mind from going along with the bet?" he asked sarcastically.

"No! To show you something after which you will search for some ideas to see where you can burn them." I replied before taking my purse and a special invitation.

"What do you mean?" he asked frowning.

"Here! I hope you will be there on time." I replied, placing the card in his hands.

"I need to go and see whether everything is perfect or not before the guests arrive." I added when he continued to read the invitation.

"Amrin!" He mumbled in shock.

"Let's forget about everything, Aahil. I hope you will come there and just enjoy it." I said before pressing my lips to his in a chaste kiss before walking outside the room to reach the hall soon with a hope that he will forget about all the bet and be like before with me.
