interview #8 SUMMER PROMPT CONTEST WINNER 2023 @MilaForLife

entry: A Girls Road Trip

placement: Summer 2023 Favorite

1 What is the title of your story? and what inspired the title?

The title of my story is 'A Girls Road Trip' and it was inspired by how anything can happen during a road trip with friends.

2 What is your story about?

My story is about a group of girl friends who go on a road trip and experience several unforgettable events.

3 Is the summer prompt contest, the first contest you entered?

Yes, the summer prompt contest is the first contest I entered

4 What was your reaction to discovering you were one of the winners?

Honestly? I was surprised because I was confident that my story is not so good and it needs so much improvement.

5  What is your favorite summer activity?

My favorite summer activities(I can't choose just one lol) are swimming, reading, and going on runs or long walks with my dogs.

6 do you have any future plans with the story you entered? (standalone novel/series)

I'm not sure. I might edit the story though .

7 What's a good piece of advice to give someone, who desires to enter a contest?

My advice would be just let yourself go with the flow and write whatever comes to your head. It took me 3-4 hours to come up with and write my story, only because once I sat down to write, the story just kind of came to me.

8  What is your favorite summer memory? (optional to answer)

My favorite summer memory would probably be when I was 9-10 years old and my mother and I went on a 5 day road trip and camped for the night at various campgrounds. It was so fun.

What is the most important piece of a story?

The cover |quality of the story| type of story

I think the quality of the story is the most important piece, at least to me, because the cover can be amazing and draw a reader like myself, but if the story contains grammatical errors, or the words are all jumbled together or contain the most irritating clichés, then it quickly disinterests me.

10 How does being a part of the Wattpad community help you as writer?

Being a part of the Wattpad community lets me know how I'm doing as a writer. I love and appreciate the feedback that I receive on here.

11 What genre of story attracts you as a reader?

Horror, thriller, comedy, and mystery are the genres that attract me as a reader. However, I can get into rom-com, sci-fi, or fantasy depending on what it is about.

12 What's a good piece of writing advice, that you've learned?

A good piece of writing advice that I've learned would probably be....I don't know. But, I've always known that a part of a good story is to always keep your readers interested and looking forward to the next chapter by leaving suspenseful endings and if you can, contain plot twists.

13 Do you believe contest and interview platforms help you as a writer?

. I don't have a clear answer to that yet, as this is my first contest and interview.

14 Since joining Wattpad, do you believe you've become a better writer?

I do believe so, however, I've never written prior to joining Wattpad.

15 What is a must have item for you to enjoy the summer?

 Ice cold water. It's definitely a must-have.
