Spring break seemed to spring up quicker than the daisies that Hinata had planted the week before.

He smeared his dirt covered hands onto his new apron, a gift from Tobio, not thinking about the effect it would have on the neon pink material-- a big, brown splotch front and center. He sighed. That was a habit that he seriously needed to break.

And the gift had been so cute, too... Blush pink with little white hearts scattered across the material. Kageyama had given it to him as a sort of belated "welcome back to the club and real life" sort of present, as well as a gift to toast their new... relationship. Was that the word? Were they technically dating? Tobio hadn't mentioned the B word yet, but surely, that didn't mean they weren't a couple...right?

As Hinata watered the daisies, he let the word flow off of his tongue. "Boyfriend. Boyfriend. Boyfriend. Kageyama Tobio is my..." Blushing furiously (and thanking the gods he was alone), Shouyou found that he couldn't complete the sentence.

He finished the daisies and moved on to Suga's carrots. It was a little early to plant carrots-- they were more of a late spring and early fall plant, but it had been so long since Hinata had felt needed that he couldn't wait to plant them. Plus, the look on Koushi's face when he would see those green little tufts of leaves sprouting from the soil a few weeks from now-- well, Hinata couldn't wait to see that either.

Across the arboretum, the sound of a squeaky door opening (Suga still had yet to fix it) rang through the thick air.

Two familiar mops of gray and brown were followed by snippets of laughter and conversation. When Suga and Yamaguchi noticed Shouyou standing across the arboretum, their faces lit up like Christmas trees.

"Hinata!" The boys exclaimed simultaneously. They floated over to him, all smiles and giggles.

Yamaguchi started first, a sly grin on his face. "So, Shouyou..." He elbowed the small boy playfully. "How's it going?"

Shouyou eyed Tadashi warily. He had 'The Look' on his face-- the one that warned Hinata that Yamaguchi was up to something. "Good...?"

Sugawara looked like he was trying not to smile. "Oh? Has anything... You know, anything new happened recently?"

If they were trying to hint at something, Hinata wasn't picking up on it. He tilted his head like a confused puppy. "No... No, I don't think so. Oh! Wait! I got an A on my art project-- you know, the one that Mr. Ukai gave me an extension on because I kept getting sick. He said it was the best one out of the whole class!"

Suga's eyes lit up. "That's really good! But, uh, anything else?"

Hinata's face scrunched. "No?"

Finally, Yamaguchi spoke up again. "You know, Tsuki and I are looking for another couple to go on a double date with..." He eyed Hinata. "Know anyone like that?"

"You could ask Tanaka and his boyfriend. Or, I mean, there's always the Pres and Daichi." Hinata beamed as Sugawara began to sputter.

"I- we're not- w-why would you--!" While Koushi turned as red as a tomato, Yamaguchi doubled over with laughter, and Hinata stood with a confused look on his face.

Yamaguchi slapped Suga on the back with enough force to send the latter stumbling, while Tadashi just continued to laugh. "Come on, pres, it's so obvious that you two like each other. Just ask him out already!"

Suga looked at him incrediously. "Whose side are you on??? And isn't there, you know," he gestured his head at Hinata not-so-subtly, "another reason we're here?"

Hinata felt out of the loop. "What? What do you mean?" He crossed his arms over his heart-covered apron and blushed at the indirect contact because ohmygoshTobioKageyamatouchedthisapronandnowI'mtouchingthisapron.

Yamaguchi giggled. "We know, Shouyou-- about you and Tobio." He wiggled his eyebrows up and down.

Hinata began to blush furiously. "I don't know what you mea-"

"We stopped by your dorm to check in and see if you were still taking your medication and if you felt okay, but only Kenma was there." Sugawara was grinning too , now. "So we asked him where you went, and he said he didn't know, but that you were probably with Tobio. We were confused, because we thought you two hated each other, so we asked him why you'd be with Tobio. And then he-! He told us about you liking Kageyama and him liking you!!!"

Suddenly, the boys attacked Hinata with a brotherly tackle. "Why didn't you tell us?!"

Shouyou was trying not to smile. He reminded himself to scold Kenma for telling his friends about his crush, but the thought was soon forgotten as he blushed at the thought of the club knowing about him and Tobio. "Because we.... I don't know if he wants to be a thing or not..." He toyed with his hands in his apron pocket, avoiding the gaze of his friends.

Yamaguchi spoke first. "Have you asked him?"

"What--! NO! I couldn't... He would... I don't even know what to say to him!" Suddenly, a thought occurred to Hinata. "Does everyone else know already?"

Suga shook his head. "Just me and Tadashi. We wanted to see you right away when we found out. But that's not important right now! I thought you asked him to be your boyfriend? So what's the problem?"

"That's the problem! We never really, uh, specified what kind of relationship we wanted. The B word never showed up when I asked him!"

Yamaguchi frowned. "When was the last time you saw him?"

"A few days ago... When he gave me this." Hinata gestured to the apron.

Both boys' jaws collectively dropped.

"He's so in love with you!" Yamaguchi squealed.

"What!? N-no he's not! It's just an apron!"

"Yeah, but-!" Suga exclaimed, "It's an apron with hearts on it!"

Hinata felt ready to explode, his cheeks were so hot. "That doesn't mean he's in love with me! P-please think about what you say before you say it!" He covered his face behind small hands.

The boys giggled guiltily. "Sorry. But still, it definitely means that he's into you, Shouyou."

He peaked out from behind a gap in his fingers. "You really think so...?" (someone slap this boy into reality... Tobio ADORES you Shouyou jfc... He even confessed to liking you n ur still not sure???? How r u so dense)

Suga raised an eyebrow. "I'd bet my life on it. So... are you going to ask him out or are we going to have to do it for you?"

Hinata groaned. He thought, back when he'd confessed to Tobio, that that would be the hard part. But now he realized that they still weren't officially dating-- and the hard part was still to come.

"Why is having a crush so... so gosh darn hard!"

Suga and Yamaguchi sighed and spoke at the same time. "Tell me about it."
