19.5. Kenma pov

A v small chapter to ease up off the Garden Club angst for a little bit.

Kenma hadn't heard from Hinata for two weeks.

Sure, he'd gotten the text saying that his roommate was going to his family's over break. But after that? Radio static silence.

And then there was that silver haired kid- the one who stopped by every day to see if Hinata was back yet. Today, he hadn't come.

But it was going to be okay. Hinata's mom was the nicest and most welcome woman he'd ever met, and she'd know how to make her son feel better, Kenma was sure of it.

As Kozume sat in his art class, memories of Hinata Shouyou floated through his mind.

Them staying up late playing video games the night before their big math final.

Meeting each other on move in day, and Kenma realizing who he was. Hinata had looked sadder then. Less warm.

Shouyou coming over to stay at Kenma's house for a week during summer vacation and accidentally getting gum stuck in the cat's fur.

Little things like that tided Kenma over while he sat in class, missing his closest friend.

He knew Hinata probably only considered him as a roommate, not a friend, but he was okay with that.

As long as Hinata Shouyou needed a shoulder to cry on, Kenma was there.

Lmao did I say this was a break from the angst????? I lied sorry
