Riv is a teenage anthropomorphic arctic wolf and a member of the Tangles. He has red fur, aqua green eyes, and a white face. He wears a gray thick hemp woven hoodie, blue jeans, and brown shoes. When it's summer or spring, he wears a gray shirt along with the rest of his usual outfit. He owns a large sledge hammer as his weapon of choice.

Riv is always there to make a joke, often at the expense of others. He is not always taken seriously, and is easily sidetracked by beautiful girls. Despite this, he is incredibly loyal to his fellow teammates and will always be there for them. Though Riv is one of the best fighters on the team, he is impulsive, reckless and is almost the first one to get into trouble, often dragging his friends, namely Skye, along with him. Despite this, he thinks very highly of himself, evidently borderline egotistical. His said ego is large enough that he refuses to accept that he lacks talent in most things, despite public and professional opinion stating otherwise. However, Riv does have his strengths; he is self motivated and loves to train and work out, giving him a muscular appearance. He trains by either pulling sleds filled with heavy items or punching bags. He does get serious whenever his teammates are in trouble.

Riv shows great respect for Katana, often agreeing with her plans without questions.

He loves to hangout with his fellow teammates and seems to have romantic feelings for Skye

Riv is named after his love for water.

Unlike his more experienced teammates, Riv doesn't seem to take any measures on protecting himself during training. He does turn his sweater backwards and uses his hood for a mask.
