Happy Valentine's Day Gotham

LOCATION: Gotham High way

"Hey slow down I have sever travel sickness you know!" Harley Quinn yells in my ear as she tightly holds onto me as we race my motor bike down the empty freeway with Cat woman not too far behind us in her corvette, and with there being no traffic it made navigating there much easier.

As I pull on my brakes we come to a slow and graceful stop and Harley leaps off of the back practically leaving claw marks on my arms 

"Ugh! Glorious land!" she yells as her legs give way on the gravel 

"Please my driving isn't that bad" I defend my self to the raving lunatic

"Trust me widow you drive like you've got a death wish, and I live with a lunatic" she exclaims as Cat woman's corvette pulls up next to us

"Damn Natasha you drive like a Bat out of hell" Cat woman smiles at me

<nonsense there's nothing wrong with my driving>

"Whatever let's go" I end the conversation and pull Quinn up off of the ground.    

The building was a small shop that displayed a closed sign on the door and lots of plants and net curtains decorating the window, it all looked very normal however appearances could be deceiving.

I dismount my bike and prepare to kick down the door when I am stopped by Cat woman "Hey hero there's such thing as subtly you know" Cat woman teases and uses her cat like claws to expertly pick the lock

<I can't help but be impressed with her criminal skill set maybe one day that skill set could be used for good> 

"Ta da!" it was very quiet in the shop it seems like nobody's home it was very quiet, but I'm cautious because I knew Ivy always used plant traps and tricks In her lairs 

Near the counter I spot a stand with Valentines day cards were neatly displayed, I notice one of the was a Black Widow themed one so I slip it into my outfit 

<Come on stealing from a lunatic was the least of my worries> 

"Hey over here" Quinn states as she points at some hanging vine plants she pulls them aside to reveal a hidden doorway

"It's an old trick of Ivy's" she tells me as we head down a dark passage way where the whole atmosphere had changed from happy homemaker florist to mad scientist lab.

"Hm home sweet home" I remark as I inspect a life sized human body model, 

 Vials of suspicious looking chemicals lined the walls along with many pots of roses, well we are definitely in the right place,

 I look through notes scattered across the table hoping they could point me in the direction of a cure, but my understanding of all this was nothing compared to poison Ivy's, but unfortunately I don't come across anything conclusive

"Well?" Cat Woman asks me I shake my head in frustration we need to talk to Ivy, suddenly I feel something wrap tightly around my legs and torso looks like I get my wish

"What's the Big idea!" Harley exclaims as she is too attacked by the monstrous vines

"Nothing personal Harley but I don't appreciate uninvited noses in my business" Ivy says as she steps out of the darkness of the hallway we walked down not moments ago.

"So Ivy what's the plan? Why turn Gotham into Themyscira if you wanted a woman's only paradise I could have put you in touch with Wonder Woman" I joke but Ivy doesn't share my humour

"This is no Joke Black Widow every Valentine's day man massacres millions of innocent roses for what Love? Well this is my revenge my massacre men will die for their crimes and everyone else will suffer the loss that mother earth feels as all of their hearts stop" Ivy was getting very worked up on the subject she tries to retain her composure but I had to keep her distracted whilst Cat woman was silently clawing at the vines

"Come on Red you can't do this to me I was going to make you my head brides maid and I can't marry a corpse I'm pretty sure that's too illegal even for me" Harley begs her friend but Ivy didn't care

"You should look at this as a good thing Harley you don't have to be stuck under that psychos thumb any more" Ivy explains to her friend but there was still something that I didn't understand

"How did you achieve all this Ivy? It must have taken thousands of dollars to create this set up" I ask her

"Millions actually" says a familiar voice in the darkness out steps a woman with jet black hair with a white stripe going through her hair, dressed all in red with a red claw tattoo on her shoulder

"Red claw!" Cat woman exclaims.

LOCATION: Military Station Bravo on the out skirts of Gotham

POV: Bat Girl

I'm able to make it to the military base in record time thanks to my motorbike and some quick short cuts I get here before Officer Montoya so I take the opportunity to look around the entire perimeter was surrounded with barb wire fence,

I touch the wire and I'm greeted with a small electric shock meaning that the live wire protective system was still active so that whoever is inside would have had to make their way through the main entrance.  

As I reach the main entrance I can see the officers car sitting there 

"Officer Montoya?" I yell 

"Over here Bat Girl" she was investigating the first point of security anyone that wanted to get inside would have definitely made their way through here, as I enter I notice straight away a security guard unconscious on his desk I wouldn't have thought that with the intruder alarm blaring away in his ears he would be able to sleep but then again that was a very strong toxin,

"Pft trust a man to do a woman's job" Montoya says as she shifts the security guard out of the way so she can reach the computer and turn off the intruder alert system which was a massive relief to both of our ears

"Ah that's better" she states as she inspects the guard even closer

"What's wrong?" I ask her as her eyes narrow 

"His security pass is gone whoever forced their way in to the security shed took his security pass ugh they could be long gone by now" the officer sighs frustrated but we could still find something here

"Better safe than sorry though lets proceed with caution" nobody with good intentions was going to be breaking into here usually Batman or Widow would handle something this big but this time its up to me.

Officer Montoya uses a security pass that they kept at the GCPD to get us in to the main building Officer Montoya enters first with her gun raised in anticipation of danger it was strange being with someone who was in possession of a gun since Batman has a strict zero policy against guns still my father was a police officer so I'm no stranger to automatic weapons,

As we make our way to the vaults where the plans for the missile defence plans were being held and we both crouch as we hear movement ahead 

"This needs to be wrapped up before extraction" a voice says, a male voice so they've got to have something to do with what's going on around Gotham too since these men seem just fine but at least that gives me hope of an antidote.

"Stand back" one of the voices says followed by a huge barrage of bullets, we cover our ears but continue to make our way closer

"That wraps up everything lets go" they begin to head towards us when Officer Montoya jumps out behind our hiding place

"Police Freeze!" she yells at them, three men dressed head to toe in black 

"Stay where you are assholes" I retrieve a Batarang from my belt and throw it at one of the men and he collapses to the floor whilst his two friends begin to open fire 

"Any bright ideas" I yell over to Montoya who shrugs, I throw out a smoke bomb causing the whole room to turn a cloudy white

"Come on we don't have time for this Red Claw will leave us if we don't make the extraction point" wait what did that guy just say, Red Claw was a world renowned terrorist this operation was definitely her M.O   

A grenade rolls between the two of us "Get down!" I yell but the explosion sends the pair of us flying into an adjacent room,

The ringing in my ears was almost deafening and I had a horrible migraine that's when I notice the officer unconscious next to me 

<How long was I out for?>

I check my watch it had only been a minuet or two 

"ugh what happened?" Montoya exclaims as she regains consciousness 

"They're gone" damn it these men were dangerous especially if they were Red Claws men and they took the mistitle defence system, Natasha wasn't going to be happy about this,

"Huh it seems like they forgot something" Officer Montoya says as she looks behind at where the men were before and I see the one that I hit with a Batarang still unconscious on the floor,

"I think Black Widow would like to carry out this interrogation" I tell the officer we look at him hopelessly since if he was going to be questioned by the Black Widow then well- I already kind of felt sorry for him.   

LOCATION: Adam & Eve Florist (Secret underground lab)

POV: Natasha

Red Claw was the leader of the global terrorist group of the same name she caused destruction everywhere she went. I now know who is behind the break in at the Military compound this was all beginning to piece together nicely, 

"So your new business partner must have suggested this plan to put every man in Gotham asleep whilst you broke into the military instillation which is fully staffed by men so you could steal the plans to those missile targeting system and then make a quick getaway" I explain to the others

"It's a good plan isn't it Romanoff today only marks the beginning of my path of destruction the American government will pay me anything to make me stop" Red Claw clarifies I turn to poison Ivy who doesn't look too pleased with the missiles and destruction part of the plan

"She's using you Ivy you know" I tell her

"Miss Isley and I have come to an agreement that as long as I don't attack any heavy vegetated areas she will assist me in my plan"  I look at Ivy she still doesn't look best pleased but Harley Quinn speaks up

"Look Red paw or whoever you are I don't care about all the other rats in this town just give me a cure to make puddin better and I'll do anything" Harley begs Red claw both me and Cat woman shoot her a filthy look "Classy Quinn real classy!" Cat woman shouts, Red claw reaches into a canister that was hidden away

"You mean this child I'm afraid this is to be destroyed along with all of you" Red claw point at us I still needed some time as Cat Woman hadn't made it through the vines yet.

Red Claw walks to the exit "Now I've got a flight to catch destroy them Miss Isley" Red Claw orders Ivy

"No!" Ivy exclaims and takes up a defensive stance

"Excuse me?" Red Claw asks Ivy clearly very angry at Ivy's disobedience

"Harley is my friend and you are even crazier than me if you think I would believe anything you say"  Ivy tells her clearly Ivy can sense that Red Claw isn't going to stand by her part of the deal

"Well the less loose ends the better I suppose" and with that Red Claw presses some sort of button and explosives go off under the floor.

Red claw runs out of the building she pulls a heavy metal book case over the only exit, the explosion sends Ivy flying across the room and the vines all break loose

"Red!" Harley exclaims as she runs to her friend as more explosions go off in the ceiling if we didn't get out of here we were going to be buried alive

"I've been a fool Harley she's a mad woman has to be stopped" Ivy quietly tells her friend Cat Woman helps Ivy get up as I try and shift the heavy steel book case but this place was caving in fast. Glass beakers exploded all around us

"Ah!" Cat Woman yells as the flammable substances explode near her,

I feel the book case begin to give way "Quick get out!" I shout at the Ladies as we all run up the collapsing staircase, but we all make it out of the building with only seconds to spare.

Well that was quite a thrilling chapter it's great to finally see poison Ivy her and Harley are great I can't wait to use them in more stories (I hope you liked the wonder woman reference) Hope you enjoyed chapter 20 please leave a friendly comment below and a vote if you liked it. xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx
