Tim Drake's Great Idea

An Unforgiving Anniversary Part 1

Tim Drake's POV

My alarm clock begins to sound off at 6:30am,

I sigh heavily to myself it's painful to open my eyes I really need to get to bed earlier, but unfortunately evil never sleeps I suppose evil doesn't have to worry about getting good grades at school.

I smack at the bat shaped alarm clock (a joke gift from Dick) and it hits the floor with a loud clatter you would have thought that it would have broken with how many times I've thrown it to the floor but it was sadly invincible,

I sit up from my warm comfortable mattress and stretch my sore muscles I had been training hard last night just because I was the youngest in this family by no means was I a slacker, Natasha has been teaching me some moves but she has also been testing my endurance in battle and although I was not in the big levels yet I remain incredibly determined.

I had no school today but still Bruce insists I get up early or he'll send Alfred after me with a bucket of cold water and I certainly do not want that, the thought of it sends a chill up my spine.

I head down stairs still in my pyjamas the main staircase to the downstairs level was huge like a staircase from a castle in a fairy tale

Sometimes I feel over whelmed by how things ended after the death of my father I tried not to think about it too much because whilst my father was neglectful and he forgot my birthday nearly every year he was still my dad my mother died whilst I was only a baby I was lucky to have not ended up in the care system at only one year old

<And trust me my dad never let me forget that>

But I was very lucky, I always dreamed of having a family A brave, handsome and caring dad like Bruce, A funny, charming and protective brother like Dick and a Beautiful, intelligent and amazing mother like Natasha

<That last one was wishful thinking on my part but a boy can dream>

I walk to the dining room for breakfast where I see Dick, Alfred and surprisingly Natasha at the large dining table eating breakfast

"Nat what are you doing here?" I ask as I sit on one of the empty chairs,

Natasha suddenly looks up from her coffee as if she was previously lost in deep thoughts she had a distant look on her face

"Oh I fell asleep in the Bat cave you know busy night" she says and rubs her eyes with her hand as they looked a painful red as if she didn't get enough sleep, now I know something is wrong

"We have such things as beds you know Romanoff" Dick Jokes trying to lighten the mood with some Grayson humour but his eyes also showed the same distant look. I look at each of them but nobody says a word which gets me wondering where is Bruce

"Ok what is going on?" I exclaim since I was beginning to panic, Natasha looks at me with a gentle expression on her face and Natasha was not a gentle person

"Tim today is the anniversary of the death of the Waynes" she tells me now I see this had to be a very painful day for Bruce, I don't think anyone sitting at the table knew what to say myself included.

"Each year this day is a painful reminder to why he put on the cowl in the first place and every year he never gets to pay his respects in peace, it hurts him more than he'll ever let on but I can tell, he's a good man I just wish that he wasn't hurting so bad" Natasha tells me, it must be hard never getting to mourn in peace them without something bad happening each year,

<Wait! I'm coming up with an idea>

"So let me get this straight on this day every year bad stuff goes down and distracts him?" they all look at me with a confused look upon their faces

"Yes master Timothy what are you getting at?" Alfred asks as he pours me a glass of fresh orange juice

"Well I was thinking what if we take the crime fighting off his hands for the day" I suggest Natasha smiles at me it sure felt great to be the barer of good ideas

"Nah it won't work" Dick argues

"What are you going to do distract the big guy all day?" he asks me I nod in response I mean it would be hard but if we all work together I don't see how it could go wrong

"You can't pull the wool over his eyes" Dick insists I glare at him he was really living up to his name today a little positivity would be nice.

Suddenly Natasha interrupts our glaring match "Hey wait he may have a point we keep him distracted for the day and if any crimes pop up we can take care of it" she says as suddenly the room goes quiet and everyone is smiling at one another Dick sighs heavily in defeat

"Ok let's do this".

Natasha's POV

Tim and I head down to the Bat Cave the cave was eerily quiet apart from a soft tapping that was coming from a key board at the Bat computer it was Bruce, he was practically stuck to the bright computer screen he was trying to distract himself but I could tell he was feeling the strain.

Bruce always leaves two roses at the sight of his parent's murder at the time they were killed which was 10:47 we just need to keep him distracted till then. Tim gives me a confident wink we had a plan I just need to set it into motion, I come up on Bruce's left and I place my hands comfortingly on his tense shoulders

"Are you ok?" I ask him I knew it was a stupid question the second that the words left my mouth I don't usually ask stupid questions but Bruce just looks at me and gives me a soft smile

"Yeah thanks just doing some reading" he says and tirelessly rubs his sore eyes as they left the florescent computer screen, I look at the screen over his shoulder it was the weekly police reports

"You reading anything interesting?" I ask with a very convincing concerned expression as he turns back around to the computer to see what he was actually reading

"uh no nothing" he replies as he tirelessly rubs his eyes again I gently massage his  broad shoulders to relieve some of the tension when suddenly he turns around from the computer and lightly takes one of my hand in between his and before I can say anything else he lays a tender kiss on my hand

"I know you're worried Natasha but I'm fine" he insists but I could tell he wasn't after all I was the Black Widow you cant pull the wool over my eyes, not even you Bruce Wayne

"That's good because Tim has something to tell you" I tell him Bruce's expression suddenly changes to that of a hard father, Tim put's on a very convincing ashamed appearance Bruce shoots a sharp glare at the boy

"What have you done Tim?" he asks I almost giggle at the thought that Bruce immediately came to the conclusion that Tim was misbehaving

"Well actually it's school we're supposed to be doing a project on the History of Gotham and I'm seriously falling behind I mean come on at the end of the day my father was a crook and all of my classmates their fathers are Lawyers and Doctors what the hell do I know about the legacy of Gotham" Tim says and truly he almost convinced even me, I give the boy a small smile as Bruce gets up from the chair and puts his hand on Tim's shoulder

"Come on Tim let's get you that A" he says as they both walk away to begin studying, phase one of the plan was complete.

I would really like to thank anyone that left a vote I really appreciate that I know people are reading what I write and another chapter is soon on its way.
