Spy Fly

Nobody's POV

"What is that?" Bree asks as a small fly buzzes past her face, distracting her from the homework she's currently working on.

"Bree, relax. It's just a fly." Chase chuckles.

"Well, why is it bothering me when the foul, ripe stench of Adam is right there?" Bree groans trying to swat the fly away.

"Lucky undies. Nine days in a row, and no lighting strikes- that's science." Adam says pulling a duh face.

"You look ridiculous." Leo chuckles walking into the lab.

"Well, yeah, so would you if you had some flying thing attacking you." Bree groans.

"Would I?" Leo asks holding out his hand, the fly landing right in the centre.

"How'd you do that?" Bree asks.

"I talk to insects. They call me the fly whisperer." Leo says.

"You can talk to flies? Ask him why bees are such jerks." Adam gasps.

"Guys, Leo's messing with you. That's Mr. Davenport's spy fly, he designed it for recon missions. You see, the fly's head is a tiny camera. Leo's controlling the entire thing with a trackball on this watch." Chase explains.

"Is there anything you don't ruin?" Leo groans.

"Nope. Leo, I don't think Mr. Davenport would approve of you using his expensive gadgets as toys." Chase sighs.

"Oh hey guys." Mia says walking into the lab. "Oh, toys!" Mia gasps staring at the fly in Leo's hand.

"Well, then, he shouldn't have gone to Rock 'N Roll Fantasy Camp. Hello! You're almost forty! You can't rock, and you're no one's fantasy." Leo says turning back to Chase.

"Can I see it?" Bree asks stepping towards Leo.

"Back off, handsy. It needs to charge in its fly hive. I used it all night." Leo says moving the fly away from Bree.

"Wait. You spent all night playing with that stupid thing?" Chase asks.

"Aww, I wanna do that!" Mia whines.

"Well, half the night. I spent the other half editing the footage." Leo says.

"What footage?" Bree asks.

"Well, now that you've asked... I give you the best... of Bree." Leo says plugging the footage into the screen, projecting it across the lab. The footage shows Bree snoring in her capsule and kissing the glass, making her siblings go hysterical.

"I can't believe you, Leo!" Bree snaps glaring at her step-brother.

"Hey, it's not my fault you sleep ugly." Leo chuckles, making Bree glare at him even more.

"Would you cut it out?! I cannot believe you brought Davenport's fly to school. Now I have three little pests following me around." Bree groans as Mia and Leo follow her through the school, the Spy Fly buzzing past her face.

"How could I not? He's my... wing man." Leo says referring to the fly.

"Yeah and I just love...seeing you annoyed." Mia chuckles, making Bree glare at her in response.

"Hey, guys." Chase says walking over, a toy baby in his hands.

"Chase, have you been stealing from five-year-old girls again?" Bree mocks.

"Ha ha. It's for health class. Each of us has to baby-sit a robo-baby for a night." Chase explains. "Are you hungry? Yes, you are, my snoogie-woogie-boogie!" He says to his baby, pulling ridiculous faces at it.

"Just when we thought he couldn't get any creepier." Mia chuckles.

"It cries when it's tired or hungry. I have to take care of him, because if I don't, I lose a point. Which, of course, I haven't. And I won't, because I have downloaded every childcare book available. I even know how to rescue a baby out of an alligator's mouth. Happens more often than you think." Chase explains.

"So, where's your baby? Lost it already?" Bree asks turning to Adam.

"Ha ha. No. Do you really think I'm that irresponsible? It's in here. I named him "shut your cryhole." That way, whenever I say his name, he'll know to stop crying." Adam says pulling his baby out of his bag.

"You keep your baby in a bag?" Leo asks.

"Yeah! It's super-toasty, books to read if he's bored, and it's totally safe." Adam explains.

"Dude, you are totally gonna fail this assignment." Chase chuckles.

"No, I'm not, because unlike you, I know what a baby likes. I think like a baby." Adam says.

"Yeah, he's got you there." Mia mutters, trying to contain her laughter.

"Oh, yeah? Well, if you're such an expert on babies, why don't we just let the scores speak for themselves?" Chase asks.

"You're on. I've got a 98. I'm only two points behind." Adam says reading the points off his baby.

"That's an 86." Chase says, making Adam's baby start crying.

"Aw, it's okay, "shut your cry hole." Adam coos, only making it cry even more. "Okay, seriously, shut your cryhole, 'shut your cry hole.'" He groans before walking off, Chase following close behind.

"Come on, Leo, or we're gonna be late for our physics test." Bree says turning to Leo.

"Ha, physics test! Suckers!" Mia chuckles.

"Uh Mia, don't you have a chemistry test today?" Bree asks.

"Yeah but it doesn't start for another 30 minutes." Mia says.

"Really, because students started going into the classroom 30 minutes ago." Bree mutters.

"What?!" Mia shouts before running of, leaving Bree and Leo alone.

"Wait, physics test? Oh, no, no, no, no. I was so busy with the fly I forgot to study. Bree... sweet, loving, caring Bree... wonderful, wise, beautif-" Leo says.

"What do you want, Leo?" Bree groans.

"I have an idea. How about you write down the right answers, and I'll copy off your paper. Sound like a plan?" Leo says.

"No way, Leo. I'm not helping you cheat." Bree says.

"Fine, I won't look at your paper." Leo says before Bree walks off. "But I can't say the same for Wingston Von Dooley III." Leo mutters pulling the Spy Fly from his pocket.

As Leo sits in his exam, he tries to make the spy fly hover over Bree's paper, but her hand keeps getting in the way.

"Move your hand." Leo mutters hovering the fly over Bree again. After about a minute, Bree snaps and stands up from her chair.

'Aaah! That's it! Give me that thing! Gimme!" She shouts storming over to Leo.

"Hey! Bounce house! Knock it off. There are people in here trying to concentrate on failing." Perry orders storming over.

"But he was-" Bree stammers.

"No buts. You know the rules. You leave your seat during a test, that's an automatic "F." Go! Walk the hallway of shame." Perry orders pointing to the door.

"Principal Perry, wait." Leo says standing up from his chair, giving Bree a small glimmer of hope. "Can I get a little extra time? That was really distracting." He asks, making Bree glare at him.

"Rock-a-bye, baby, on Chase's shoulder. When you fall asleep, I'll beat Adam at this assignment just like I beat him at everything else " Chase sings as he walks down the stairs, his baby safely in his hands.

"Baby onboard!" Adam shouts as he pushes his baby down the corridor in a wheely bin. He knocks into Chase, causing him to drop his baby on the ground.

"Hey!" Adam shouts glaring at Chase.

"I just lost a point because of your stupidity!" Chase snaps glaring back at Adam.

"Relax. It was an accident." Adam says. "Here's your baby." He says picking Chase's baby up with a plunger, causing it to cry even more.

"Now I've lost two points! And so should you. Give me your baby!" Chase shouts lunging for Adam's baby.

"No! Too slow! Too short! Too Chase." Adam chuckles as Chase keeps missing his baby. Chase manages to grab the baby and throws it into the vending machine, making it wail and scream.

"Aw, da liddle guy musta been hungry." Chase mocks pulling baby faces.

"Bree, I'm sorry. I didn't mean for you to get in trouble." Leo says as he and Bree walk out of the gym.

"I failed that test because of you. Happy now?" Bree groans.

"Hey guys, how did you do on your Physics test?" Mia asks walking over.

"Leo used that stupid Spy Fly to try and copy my answers and got me an F!" Bree snaps.

"That's classic." Mia chuckles, making Bree glare at her. "I mean, oh no that's terrible." She mutters, not wanting to face her sisters wrath.

"I'm turning you in to Perry." Bree says turning back to Leo.

"You can't! If I get in trouble one more time this semester, she'll send me to summer school." Leo pleads.

"That's classic." Mia chuckles, making Leo glare at her. "I mean, oh no that's terrible." She mutters. Man, everyone was glaring at her today.

"Ohh! Fine!" Bree snaps before storming off.

"All right, Wingston... let's see what really goes on in the teachers lounge." Leo says before throwing the Spy Fly into the air. As the fly buzzes about it accidentally hits Perry.

"Yechh! Gross!" Perry shouts swatting the fly away.

"Uh-oh." Leo mutters.

"Well that backfired." Mia chuckles.

"Twenty years of people asking, 'Gee, Terry, why do you keep a flyswatter in your purse?'. If they could see me now. Ah. Don't make me jump! I've already split six pantsuits this semester! Ohh! I've got you now!" Perry snaps pulling out a fly swatter and trying to hit the fly.

"No! You can't kill it!" Leo shouts running over, Mia following close behind.

"If I can kill the spirit of 300 high school students, I can certainly kill one little fly." Perry says before trying to swat the fly again.

"No! No! Stop it! It's not a real fly. It's electronic." Leo sighs making the fly land in his hand.

"You brought another one of your toys here? You're just begging to go to summer school." Perry says.

"Yes he is." Mia chuckles, making Leo glare at her.

"No. No. It's not a toy, it's a surveillance device. I control it with this watch." Leo explains.

"Gimme." Perry gasps reaching for the watch.

"No!" Leo shouts pulling his arm away.

"Uhh! You use this thing to spy on people?" Perry asks.

"Well, technically you could, but I would never." Leo says.

"I would." Mia mutters.

"Very noble, Dooley. Not so noble Davenport." Perry says.

"Thank you." Leo mutters.

"Also very dumb. Ah. I'm gonna let you off with a warning, but this now belongs to me." Perry explains taking the fly hive off Leo.

"You can't do that." Leo stammers.

"Yeah, I was gonna mess with my brothers using that!" Mia whines.

"Yeah, that's what they tell me every time I apply for the Miss North America Pageant. But my bikini tells a different story." Perry says before walking off.

"Leo, hit me on the head." Mia mutters.

"Why?" Leo asks.

"So I can forget ever hearing that!" Mia gasps, trying to erase Perry's words from her memory.

"Adam! Where's my baby? I can't find it, and it's time for its 3:15 bath." Chase asks walking into the kitchen.

"Don't worry. He's already squeaky clean." Adam says pulling Chase's baby out of the dishwasher and handing it to him.

"You put my baby in the dishwasher?!" Chase snaps hugging his baby.

"Yeah, I had to. The toilet's too shallow." Adam says, pulling a 'duh' face.

"That's it! You've just declared baby war! The diapers are off!" Chase shouts before walking off.

"Hey. Where's my baby?" Adam asks walking up to Chase.

"Oh, he wanted a snack. Waaaa..." Chase chuckles pulling Adam's baby out, who's stuck inside a block of gelatine.

"You put my baby in a gelatin mold? Joke's on you. I'll just eat my way around him." Adam says before sticking his head in the gelatine, eating the baby out of it.

"Chase. Your lazy baby needed exercise. I call this one 'tether baby.'" Adam says as Chase walks into the lab, swinging the baby around like a tether ball.

"No! No! No! No!" Chase shouts trying to reach for the wailing baby, only to miss every time.

"Aw, look... He's bad at sports- just like his daddy." Adam chuckles, making Chase glare at him again.

"Oh, Adam. Care for some breakfast? I'm making waffles." Chase chuckles pulling out Adam's baby, his face flattened and cooked like a waffle.

"You cooked my baby!" Adam shouts grabbing his baby.

"That oughta shut his cry hole." Chase chuckles.

"Aw, Chase. Your baby looks cold." Adam says walking up to Chase, firing his heat vision directly at Chase's baby.

"Aaaah!" Chase screams pulling his baby away, only to find half of its face charred black.

"Ooh. Yikes. Talk about a face only a father could love." Adam mocks, making Chase glare at him.

"Listen up, space wasters! I've installed a new surveillance system. And FYI, this total invasion of your privacy comes courtesy of the one and only Leo Dooley! Perry airlines cleared for takeoff!" Perry shouts in the school hall, putting the hive in the middle of the room and releasing the spy fly into the hall.

"Can you believe this?" Leo gasps turning to Mia and Bree.

"I'm just glad she's not blaming it on me." Mia chuckles.

"If you're experiencing mild turbulence, it's because we're passing over the rockies! Whoops. Those aren't mountains, those are pimples!" Perry cackles as the Spy Fly buzzes over the students. "To your right, we see Lindsay Hoffman writing in her oh-so-private diary! What? Lindsay has a crush on Timmy Newcastle? I think I'll go tell him. Whoops! I think I just did! Good luck!" Perry shouts before walking out of the room.

"Perry left the charging hive." Leo gasps running towards it, only to get beat by Bree. "Now, Bree- Bree. Think about what you're doing. If you give that to Perry, she can recharge the fly and my life will be over, everyone will hate me." Leo says.

"That's the plan." Bree says.

"I thought everyone did hate you." Mia chuckles.

Bree and Leo start wrestling for the hive, causing it to open up and release hundreds of flies into the room.

"See what happens when you don't let me cheat off you?" Leo groans as the students try to run away from the flies.

"I don't know what you guys are talking about, this is awesome." Mia chuckles.

"How am I gonna get all these flies back?" Leo stammers pacing around.

"I don't know. And also, I don't care." Bree says.

"Dooley! Your stupid toy's messed up! Uhh! Where did these come from? I haven't seen this many flies since I thought my cat took a five-day nap." Perry groans walking over to Leo. "I'll open the door." She says walking towards the front door.

"No! They're my step-dad's! I can't lose them!" Leo shouts blocking Perry's way.

"That door is opening whether you're in the way or not. I just need a running start." Perry says backing up a few steps.

"Can't we just talk this out like civilized-" Leo sighs.

" Charge!" Perry shouts charging at Leo, making him scream and jump out of the way. Perry keeps running but before she can reach the door, the flies swarm her and block her way.

"Bree, I can't get all these flies back without your help." Leo sighs turning back to Bree.

"Hey, I can help!" Mia shouts.

"Bree, I can't get all these flies back without your help." Leo repeats, completely ignoring Mia's offer to help.

"No problem. Just tell Perry you cheated." Bree says.

"Really? You're still on that?" Leo groans.

"Yep. Looks like you're stuck, Leo." Bree says, a small smirk on her face.

"Stuck. That's it!" Leo gasps.

"The best way to catch a fly is with flypaper." Leo explains as he puts glue on one of the posters in the hall.

"Leo, that'll never work. They're not real flies." Bree chuckles.

"Well it's either this or we cover you in honey and lure them too you." Mia says.

"Gross...and that's bees, not flies." Bree groans.

"They both fly and annoy the hell out of people, what's the difference?" Mia asks.

"Aaah! Sharp turns! Sharp turns! Aaah!" Perry screams as the flies chase her, causing her to run into the flypaper and get stuck.

"I'm stuck." Perry groans trying to break away from the paper, only to fail miserably.

"Got one." Leo chuckles.

"Look what you did to my baby! I had to wrestle his arm from a golden retriever!" Adam shouts as he and Chase walk into the gym.

"Well, thanks to you, my baby's face looks like creme brulee! We're both gonna fail, and the only person you have to blame is yourself for your hideous-looking cry hole!" Chase groans.

"How dare you?! Lucky for you his ears are full of maple syrup!" Adam shouts before hitting Chase's baby onto the floor, making it cry once again.

"Thirty-seven points- You monster!" Chase gasps picking up his baby and checking the score.

"My little guy may have thirty-six, but I'm still proud of him. Yes, I am, aren't I? Yes, I am, aren't I? ANSWER ME!" Adam screams at his baby.

"Wait a minute. If I turn my baby in now, I can still beat you." Chase mutters before running to the door, only to get attacked by Adam. They continue fighting and Chase jumps onto Adam's back, trying to stop him from running.

"Hey, if anybody can hear me, there's a crowbar in my purse!" Perry shouts, still stuck to the wall.

"Just confess and I can help you fix all this! You'll never be able to steer them all." Bree sighs.

"Like I've said, I can help." Mia says.

"Please, have a little faith Bree." Leo sighs, ignoring Mia once again. "What is that?" He stammers showing Bree and Mia his watch.

"'Attack mode engaged. Stun stingers activated.' This is getting better by the minute." Bree chuckles.

Suddenly all of the other students drop to the ground, after being stung by the Spy Flies.

"Well this is just great." Mia mutters.

"Oh, no. Oh, no, no, no, no. Oh. Oh. Hey. Uh, don't worry. It says the stings aren't lethal. You'll just be stunned for ten minutes. In Spain they call this a 'Siesta.'" Leo stammers running up to one of the students.

"Aha!" Adam shouts as he and Chase continue their 'baby fencing'.

"Wait! There's a fly on your head." Chase says, making Adam stop in his tracks. Once he's stopped, Chase hits Adam's baby down and runs out of the room.

"Are you gonna get the fly or not?!" Adam shouts as he runs out.

"Leo, what's happening?" Chase asks as he runs into the hall, shocked that the students and laying on the ground.

"Oh you know, destroying priceless inventions, unleashed a biohazard, hate by all. Typical Tuesday." Leo explains.

"This is completely normal." Mia stammers.

"Whoa! Look at all those flies!" Adam gasps running into the room. The flies swarm Adam's baby and lift it up into the air. "My baby! Somebody do something! Chase, throw your baby up to get mine down!" Adam shouts turning to Chase.

"No way!" Chase groans.

"But it's gonna get hurt!" Adam gasps.

"Hurt? Adam, it's a plastic doll." Chase chuckles.

"That is so insensitive. To you he's just a piece of plastic, but to me, he's become a little fake person friend who almost never judges me. I was supposed to look after him, and I failed. I failed you, my little cry hole!" Adam cries looking up at his baby.

"It's okay buddy." Mia sighs patting Adam on the back.

"Thank you Mia, at least I have someone who cares." Adam says glaring at Chase.

"Well, I don't care. I'm going to turn mine in, which means I'm gonna win and you're gonna lose. Ha!" Chase mocks.

"Yeah, I guess so. Congratulations, Chase." Adam sighs, giving Chase a sad look.

"Thank you. I'm gonna go now." Chase says, as Adam starts whimpering and crying.

"I'm gonna do it. I'm leaving." He says, only making Adam whimper more.

"Okay, fine, I'll help you!" Chase groans throwing his baby down, bringing them both down but causing Chase's baby to cry.

"Thanks, Chase. That really meant a lot to me." Adam sighs.

"Um-hmm." Chase mutters.

"Especially the part where you completely fell for it!" Adam shouts knocking Chase's baby to the floor and running off. Chase quickly grabs his baby and runs after Adam, almost falling over in the process.

"Help me!" Leo shouts turning to Bree.

"Are you ready to tell Perry you cheated?" Bree asks.

"Not really, no. Oh, come on! Adam and Chase would cover for me." Leo groans.

"So would I." Mia mutters.

"Yeah, and they also turned their babies into breakfast treats. Look, I'm your sister, and it's my job to call you out and hope that you're mature enough to take responsibility." Bree sighs.

"What am I, chopped liver?!" Mia snaps.

"But I'm not mature! Fine. I'll tell Perry." Leo groans.

"Smart move. I'll just use my superspeed to create a vacuum effect and suck the flies back into the hive." Bree explains.

"What about using your bionics in public?" Leo asks.

"I think we're good." Bree says pointing to the students on the floor.

"Bree, stand back. I've got this." Mia says stepping towards the flies.

Mia holds out her hands and waves them around, causing massive gusts of wind to blow towards the flies. She keeps going until the flies get pushed into the hive, which she quickly closes once their all inside.

"Mia, how did you do that?" Bree gasps walking over to her sister.

"I don't know. When I was sat in my chemistry test, it just happened. I was trying to tell you, but you wouldn't accept my help." Mia explains.

"We'll get Mr Davenport to check it out later." Bree says.

"Wow. That was the fourth-weirdest thing I've seen all day." Leo chuckles.

"Speaking of which, number three is still over there waiting for your confession." Bree says pointing to Perry.

"Great. I have to confess to the wrong end of a pantsuit." Leo groans walking over to Perry. "Principal Perry?" Leo stammers as he walks up behind her.

"Who is that?! Don't try anything; I can identify you by your stench!" Perry snaps.

"It's me, Leo." Leo says.

"Ooh." Perry mutters.

"The only reason Bree was talking during the test was because I was using the spy fly to cheat off of her. She didn't deserve to fail; I did." Leo sighs.

"Aw, that's nice. I got an itch- unless you're plannin' on scratchin' it, get me off of here!" Perry snaps.

"One, two..." Leo mutters before pulling Perry off the flypaper, almost falling over in the process.

"Aah! Ohh... ooh. Thanks, Dooley. I owe ya one." Perry says turning to Leo.

"Really?" Leo asks, shocked that Perry is being so nice.

"Yeah- one long, hot trip to summer school!" Perry cackles before walking off.

"Well Mia, it appears you've unlocked a new ability. It says here that it's your 'air jet ability'." Donald explains as Mia steps out of her capsule.

"I have air jets? Awesome!" Mia shouts waving her hands around, accidentally sending her air jets at Donald and knocking him down.

"Oops." Mia mutters, making Donald glare at her.

"That's gonna come in handy." Leo chuckles.

So, Mia has a new ability. But, this wasn't the ability I mentioned a few chapters back. That ability is much, much more powerful. But what is it? Only time will tell...
