Drone Alone

Nobody's POV

"Oh, this is so exciting! I have never been to Australia before." Tasha squeals as she stands in the living room.

"Hey, maybe you'll like it so much you won't want to come back!" Eddy cackles popping up on the screen.

"Donald, honey, do you have the plane tickets?" Tasha asks as her husband walks into the room.

"Honey, we're taking my fully automated private jet. Plane tickets. Why don't we just slap on a bunch of stamps and mail ourselves there." Donald scoffs.

"Private jet. That works." Tasha says.

"Okay, Leo, this is your chance to prove you're responsible enough to stay at home without us." Donald explains turning towards his step son.

"Me? What about them?" Leo asks pointing to the four bionic teens stood behind him.

"They were designed to go on missions and save the world. You were designed to break stuff." Donald says.

"This is Mia we're talking about!" Leo shouts pointing to the youngest bionic teen.

"On second thoughts, we're not going." Donald says.

"Donald, Leo will be responsible. He is a big boy. Sweetie, I left your flame-retardant undies on the dresser." Trash a says, making everyone laugh at Leo.

"Mr. Davenport, Leo will be fine. I mean, what's the worst that could happen?" Bree asks.

"Funny you should ask. I've made an actuary chart which covers every possible catastrophe. You have an 82% chance of coming back to a perfectly normal house. Happy travels." Chase explains, only making the situation even worse.

"Don't worry! Eddy is here to monitor every room in the house. He is like a virtual baby-sitter." Adam says, actually making the situation better for once.

"Yeah, and I virtually care about your kids." Eddy mocks, making Tasha glare at him.

"Big D, I got this. No explosions, no goof-ups, no fires, no floods-" Leo says, listing off all the worst case scenarios.

"Wait, Mia's abilities can cause all of that." Donald mumbles.

"Donald, let's go!" Tasha snaps grabbing his arm and beginning to drag him out of the house.

"Okay, be careful. There's an inflatable raft in the closet." Donald says as Tasha drags him out of the house, closing the door behind them.

"Whoo-hoo! Party in the lab!" Adam shouts jumping up and down.

"Whoo!" Bree shouts hi-fiving Mia.

"Did you not hear what Davenport just said? We're supposed to be responsible." Leo scolds.

"Oh, right. I'll be responsible for the snacks. Leo, you're responsible for blowing up that raft! Whoo-hoo! Party in the lab!" Adam shouts running down to the lab, his siblings following close behind.

"And he's worried about me?" Leo groans before following his bionic friends down to the lab.

"Australia looks interesting. But I'd really like to check out New York." Bree says as she looks through a magazine in the lab.

"Yeah, well, maybe someday when we're older-" Chase says but before he can finish, Bree super speeds out of the lab. "Or now. And what are you up to?" Chase asks walking over to Mia and Adam.

"We are combining foods. Butterscotch pudding and tomatoes is probably a no, but being home alone and doing whatever we want is a huge yes, so we're gonna do it anyway!" Adam chuckles.

"Butterscotch pudding and tomatoes is a no, but how about chocolate milk and bacon?" Mia asks, making Chase look at her in disgust before walking over to Donald's computer.

"Chase, what are you doing at Davenport's computer?" Leo asks walking over to him.

"I'm pulling a prank on him. The next time he checks his bank account, it's gonna be in euros! Bam! Same value, but still funny, right?" Chase chuckles, still being his nerdy self.

"Where were you?" Leo asks as Bree super speeds into the lab, looking like she just crawled out of a fashion show gone wrong.

"Well, I was headed to New York City, but I got stuck in Jersey. Check out my bling. Boom! How's ya like them sparklers?" Bree explains in a Jersey accent, accidently knocking butterscotch pudding onto broccoli.

"Bree, look what you did! You got butterscotch pudding all over my broccoli!" Adam whines.

"What a delicious mistake!" Mia chuckles taking a bite out of the butterscotch covered broccoli.

"Aw, I'm sorry, guys. I meant to get it on your faces! Ho ho! Boom I'm throwin' puddin' here!" Bree shouts throwing food across the room, accidently sending a glop of butterscotch at Chases face.

"Oh, look! Chase and pudding! I hadn't thought of that combo!" Adam chuckles.

"Food Fight!" Mia shouts, starting up warfare between the four bionic siblings.

"Hey! Hey, hey, hey! Stop! I really need this weekend to go well for me!" Leo shouts interrupting the food fight.

"Chill out, Leo. What's the big deal? We're just having a little fun." Chase groans.

"I'm not. If Davenport trusts me to stay home alone, then next he'll give me a project in the lab, and then he'll let me go on a mission with you. Don't you want me to go on missions with you?" Leo asks.

"Ehh."

"I guess."

"Not so much."

"Never really thought about it."

"Okay, that's it. No more crazy foods, no more pranking Davenport, and no more breaking your curfew to go to New York." Leo orders.

"Jersey! Whatever. This guy, what a nudge." Bree groans glaring at Leo.

"Just get in your capsules and go to sleep. I'll turn on a nightlight for you." Leo says. The four bionic teens get into their capsules and Leo turns on some kind of lamp, illuminating the dark room.

"Ohhh! Ew! It feels like my stomach just popped! Can I leave my door open a crack?" Adam groans clutching his stomach.

"Me too. I think it's the broccoli and butterscotch." Mia whines.

"No!" Bree and Chase snap.

"All right, but it might blow open by itself." Adam says closing his capsule door.

"Forget blow open, mines gonna blow off and take a trip to Canada." Mia groans closing her capsule door.

"That sunset was so beautiful." Tasha sighs as her and Donald lounge back in their private jet.

"Yeah. Everything looks better out the window of your own private jet. You know, if I wasn't so accomplished, I'd probably sound like a jerk." Donald chuckles.

"Oh, no, honey. You do sound like a jerk." Tasha says, receiving a glare from her husband.

"Oh, no. I think I forgot to unplug the LEMP. I better call home." Donald gasps pulling out his phone.

"You are just making up words so that you can check on the kids. "The LEMP?" Where's that, on the toble next to the bid?" Tasha chuckles.

"The LEMP is a localized electromagnetic pulse. I think I left it on the console in the lab." Donald explains.

"Don't you mean the leb?" Tasha asks, trying to control her laughter.

"It's not funny. If one of those kids turns it on, it could fry every electrical circuit in the whole house." Donald groans, panic evident in his voice.

"It's late. Don't call and wake them up. Besides, if anything goes wrong, Eddy will call us." Tasha says.

"Unless I stowed away on your tablet. I stowed away on your tablet! I'm on vay-cay! Let's party! Can I get a "whoop whoop"?" Eddy cackles appearing on Donald's tablet.

"Good morn- Aaahh!" Leo gasps walking into the lab, shocked at the state of the room.

"Leo? Leo? Is that you?" Chase asks turning towards Leo, his eyes wide.

"What happened?! All we did was go to sleep!" Leo shouts walking over to Chase.

"Leo, something happened to my vision. I can only see pixels." Chase stammers.

"Buddy up what's." Adam says.

"He sounds different." Leo says.

"Yeah, that's 'cause he can only speak backwards. It was fun for about the first five minutes- Now I just want to rip his head off." Chase groans.

"Wait. Wait, where's Bree and Mia? And if you say Bree went to Paris for crepes, I'm gonna lose it!" Leo asks.

"I don't know where she is. Something woke us up in the middle of the night, she started bouncing around the room like a pinball, and I haven't seen her since. I haven't seen anything since. Adam locked Mia in her capsule a while ago, she's leaking." Chase explains, pointing in the general direction of the capsules.

"Leaking? She's 13!" Leo gasps.

"No, it's one of her glitches. She can't control her HydroKinesis so water constantly leaks out of her hands. Luckily, it's not going at a rapid rate." Chase explains.

"Hey Leo! So, how are you!?" Mia shouts from inside her capsule, which is already to her knees with water.

"I'm gonna- All right. Okay. Okay, I'm gonna- I'm gonna call her and I'm gonna get her back. Call Bree." Leo stammers walking over to the lab videophone. The videophone calls Bree and see appears on the screen, appearing to be in some kind of desert.

"Bree! No! Please don't tell me you've gone back in time!" Leo shouts.

"No! I just woke up and started running. The next thing I knew, I was in the middle of the desert, my feet were smoking, and my navigation system was all goofed up. My phone's about to die! What am I gonna do..." She stammers, fear in her voice.

"Bree! Bree!" Leo shouts as the screen blacks out.

"Oh-uh." Adam gulps.

"Is Bree ok!?" Mia shouts from inside her capsule.

"What are we going to do?!" Chase snaps as a beeping sound rings in the lab.

"What the heck is that?!" Leo asks.

"Well, it's either Mr. Davenport's radon gas alarm, or it's his emergency phone. And being that none of us have passed out yet, it's his emergency phone!" Chase snaps.

"Hey. Davenport Industries, home of the little man's big dreams. Leo speaking. How may I help you?" Leo stammers picking up the phone.

"Leo! What's going on?" Donald asks.

"Not a thing. Watching cartoons, eating cereal. You know, Saturday morning things." Leo lies, trying to sound as normal as possible.

"Cartoons watch want to I!" Adam shouts.

"Was that Adam? Let me talk to him." Donald says.

"Um... no, it's the TV. I'm watching Captain Backwards. He saves the day in the beginning and... does all the boring stuff at the end. It's a terrible show. I don't know why I watch it." Leo chuckles nervously.

"What about Bree? Is she around?" Donald asks.

"No. You know girls. She's knee-deep in makeup and unicorns." Leo stammers, mentally hitting himself for coming up with such a bad excuse.

"Ok what about Chase?" Donald asks.

"He's...tutoring Mia." Leo lies.

"He tutoring Mia...and she's ok with that?" Donald asks.

"Bree and Adam made her do it." Leo says.

"Look, Leo, I need you to do me a favor. I need you to unplug the LEMP on the console." Donald orders.

"Oh. You mean... the nightlight?" Leo asks.

"It's not a nightlight. It's a localized electromagnetic pulse. Please tell me you did not turn it on." Donald explains.

No." Leo says unplugging the LEMP. "No, I did not. Um... I should go. Tell my mommy I love her." Leo stammers.

"What did he say?" Tasha asks.

"He said, tell my mommy I love her." Donald chuckles.

"He said "mommy"? He's hiding something. Turn this plane around. Turn this plane around! Leo! We are coming home right now!" Tasha shouts before the phone disconnects.

"They're coming home right now." Leo says turning towards Adam and Chase.

"What?!" Adam shouts.

"Tell my mommy I love her"?" Chase asks, glaring at Leo through his pixeled vision.

"I'm sorry. When I freak out, I talk baby talk." Leo groans.

"Leo, how could you turn on the LEMP?! It's a giant glitch machine! That's what goofed us all up!" Chase shouts.

"Ohhhh. So this is one of those things that Davenport talks about we're not supposed to touch? Good to know... Good to know." Leo mutters.

"Look, we have to fix this before they get home. I'll locate Bree's signal and send her the coordinates so she can find her way back." Chase explains walking over to the console.

"Hey Chase can you please hurry up. Soon, I'll be able to go swimming in my capsule." Mia groans wriggling about in her capsule.

"Oh, good, it's flashing "Signal received." But what are we gonna do about you guys?" Leo asks.

"Well, Mr. Davenport did install an emergency video file on my internal hard drive. But we're only supposed to watch it in an emergency." Chase explains.

"Oh, up wake! Emergency it is this!" Adam shouts.

"Will someone just do something!" Mia snaps, making Chase turn on the video clip.

"So if you're watching this, I must have gone to that big hard drive in the sky. How could this have happened?! I was so young! Look at me! I was so beautiful and talented and smart... this is awful!" Donald sobs.

"Right about now I'm sort of glad I can't see this." Chase groans.

"Is that really what he wore to say his final farewell? Slap on a suit, dude! You're on a stairway to heaven!" Leo shouts.

"Now, you're probably in crisis, so first things first. If you didn't have time to have me cryogenically frozen, just chuck me in the fridge for now, it'll have to do." Donald explains.

"Don't you let him near my chocolate milk!" Mia shouts from her capsule.

"Oh, and, uh, I would like you to play my super funeral mix at my service. Also, money is no object, so I'd like a super-huge blow-out, you know, something befitting a man as awesome as I... was. I'm sorry. You guys must miss me so much!" Donald sobs.

"Is there a fast-forward?" Leo asks.

"Yeah. There are different chapters." Chase says.

"Okay, searching, searching, searching... Stop! There it is. Someone Didn't listen and turned on the LEMP." Leo says.

"Well, that's eerily specific." Chase mutters as he selects the video.

"Get into the Chases or Mias capsule with bare feet and press your hands against the sides of the cylinder. This connects the circuit, initiates a reboot, and will repair all damage." Donald explains.

"Okay. Once I restore my settings, we can get things back to normal before Tasha and Davenport get home. And they'll never know how thoroughly and completely you messed up." Chase says walking over to his capsule. He steps inside and does exactly as Donald instructed, his chip glowing in the back of his neck as he does.

"So?" Leo asks as Chase steps out of his capsule.

"Where am I? Who are you people?!" Chase stammers.

"Oh, great!" Leo groans.

"Ha! Just kidding. You're next." Chase chuckles walking over to Adam.

"Luck me wish." Adam says walking over to his capsule.

"If he's gonna take his shoes off, we might want to take a step back." Chase mutters as Adam steps into his capsule.

"Whoo! I think I'm okay. Wait, my voice isn't coming out of my butt, is it?" Adam gasps stepping out of his capsule.

"And he's back." Leo chuckles.

"Hey guys, do one of you mind HELPING ME!" Mia snaps.

"Now I can see, I can drain your capsule so you can do the same as me and Adam did." Chase explains.

"Well do you mind doing it?" Mia asks.

"Oh right." Chase says pressing a button on the console, draining all the water from Mias capsule.

"Okay. Bare feet, hands on the sides of the capsule." Mia mutters pressing her hands to the sides of the capsule, fixing her glitches.

"Did it work?" Adam asks.

"Yeah. Now if you guys will excuse me, I need to stand in the sun for about 10 hours." Mia groans, referring to the soggy clothes she's currently wearing.

"Okay, everything's cleaned up. Now all we need is Bree." Leo says as the four of them finish cleaning up the living room, which was in a state from the night before.

"No problem. I'm tracking her right now. According to this, she should be here any minute." Chase explains pulling out his tablet.

"That took forever. My phone died, and I had to buy a map- a paper map. I mean, do you know how hard it is to fold this thing up?" Bree groans super speeding into the room, a large paper map in her hand.

"A map? Didn't you get the coordinates I sent you?" Chase asks.

"What coordinates? I didn't get any coordinates." Bree says, confusion crossing her face.

"Wait. If Bree's here, then what are you tracking?" Adam asks.

"I don't know. It's probably just a bird." Chase mutters with a shrug of his shoulders.

"Guys, what's that?" Mia asks pointing towards the window.

"Mia, get down!" Chase shouts as a large metal drone flys through the window, nearly taking Mia's head off with it.

"That was awesome!" Mia chuckles walking over to the drone.

"Guys, this is one of Mr. Davenport's drones. I must have sent it the coordinates instead of Bree!" Chase explains.

"Oh, yeah. A giant flying piece of metal and a teenage girl- I see how you can get that messed up." Leo groans, making Chase glare at him.

"I can see the resemblance." Mia chuckles, receiving a slap on the back of the head from Bree in return.

"I messed it up because my vision was impaired- by you, Mr. Touchy-Stuffy Mommy-Misser!" Chase snaps, pointing an accusing finger at Leo.

"Chase, let's not play the blame game." Leo says.

"Guys, this drone controls all of Mr. Davenport's GPS technology, including the plane that he's flying on right now." Chase explains.

"What?! Why would he keep the command center for all of his technology flying around in the sky?" Leo asks.

"Probably because you're down here." Adam chuckles.

"And Mia." Bree adds.

"What was I thinking? I knew Leo wasn't ready to be left home alone. How could I let you talk me into this?" Tasha stammers as she paces around the million dollar jet.

"You talked me into this!" Donald shouts.

"Donald, let's not play the blame game." Tasha says.

"This is so weird. I programmed the jet to take us home, but it's not reading the coordinates from my drone." Donald says looking at his tablet.

"I'm sorry. Your what?" Tasha asks, even more confused about her husbands crazy inventions,

"I have an orbiting drone that coordinates all of my-" Donald explains.

"Don't bother, Donny! She'll never be one of us! She's dial-up in a 4G world." Eddy cackles interrupting Donald.

"Are you telling me that we are just randomly flying around right now, no flight plan, no pilot?!" Tasha shouts.

"Gee, Tasha, this sounds pretty serious! You should probably jump out." Eddy says, making Tasha glare at him.

"Unless one of my other computers takes the controls and lands this jet for me." Donald says looking over at Eddy.

"Wait. He's gonna fly the plane for us? You have got to be kidding me!" Tasha gasps, not trusting Eddy one bit.

"Buckle up, sugar. It's gonna be a bumpy ride!" Eddy cackles making the jet speed up, causing Tasha to fall back into her chair.

"Eddy!" Tasha screams, scared that a deranged robot is piloting the plane she's in.

"All right, that's the last of the broken glass." Bree says walking back over.

"And the drone is fixed." Chase adds.

"Go ahead, Chase, hop in. Ha ha! That's a joke, 'cause you're so tiny." Adam chuckles, making Chase glare at him.

"Mia!" Bree snaps, pulling her away from the drone as she tries to get in it.

"What about the window?" Adam asks.

"We'll deal with that later. Let's focus on getting Adam and the drone outside so we can launch it off the roof and back into the sky." Leo explains walking over to the door and opening it, only to close it again seconds later. "They're walking up the driveway! They are walking up the driveway!" Leo screams running towards the others.

"Adam, hide the drone!" Mia shouts, making Adam run out of the room with the drone as the front door opens.

"Welcome home, mommy." Leo stammers walking towards Tasha.

"Okay... What are you guys up to?" Tasha asks.

"Just chillin'. Ya know. We didn't do anything. Nothing happened. Nothing at all. You two- always so suspicious." Bree stammers.

"Hmm. I don't smell any fires... and no one's in a full body cast. Wait- where's Adam?" Donald mutters.

"Adam? Uh, Adam is..." Mia stammers

"Right here warming up your welcome home hugs! Bring it in, peoples!" Adam shouts walking into the room and hugging Tasha and Donald.

"Well, I guess we overreacted." Donald says.

"Right. I will go reschedule our trip to Australia. This time on a big plane with an actual pilot." Tasha chuckles. Above them, they hear a strange whirring sound that rings around the room.

"What is that?" Tasha asks. Before any one can answer, the drone crashes through the roof and lands on the floor with a thud.

"By the way, we forgot to reset the coordinates." Adam mumbles.

"Reset the coordinates?! It looks like somebody touched my stuff!" Donald snaps glaring at the five teens.

"Chase did it!" Mia shouts pointing at her brother.

"So nothing else happened while I was gone?" Donald asks walking into the lab, where the five teens are sat having a conversation.

"No. Just the drone thing." Leo lies.

"Yep, just that drone thing." Chase adds.

"Just the drone thing. Ahh. Anybody want to see a slide show?" Donald asks.

"Ooh! Is it Australia?" Bree gasps.

"No! Ha ha! It's my surveillance cameras that show everybody's movements throughout the entire house. "Huh. I never thought of using my priceless guitar as a hammer." "Hey, what happens if I stick my head in here?" "Now that my hair's big, I can get on all the rides!" "Here we are exploring the deep, dark waters of idiocy." Ha ha ha! Heh..." Donald chuckles showing a slideshow of images from the lab, including Bree's Jersey look, Mia's leaking and Adam and Chase swinging around guitars.

"So..." Mia mutters.

"Uh, so, you're all grounded- forever! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!" Donald cackles walking out of the lab before the teens can respond.

Let's just say Donald never trusted the teens again.
