Jin had a crush on her, ages 14 to 18, ever since they were lab partners. Jin had finally worked up the courage to ask Irene out to the dance in the eighth grade. He noticed she was at her locker talking to her two friends and he was about to turn the corner until he heard something.

"So, you're really not going to the dance? You should come with us." one of her friends asked.

"No. I mean, why would I? Joy will just humiliate me and I won't have any fun." she said, as she closed her locker door and she and her friends walked away.

Jin sighed in disappointment. He decided that he wasn't going to go either, despite how many promposals he got. The night of the dance came and he went onto Snapstagram to see that one of his friends posted a picture of his friends at the dance. He noticed a familiar face in the back and zoomed in to see Irene. He sighed in frustration and decided to go to sleep early to prevent overthinking about this.

In the coming years, whenever he would go on several dates with a girl, by the third date, the girl would try to kiss Jin and go on from there. Jin wouldn't even hold the girl's hand, more or less kiss her, since he still had hope for being with Irene. If the girl tried to kiss him on the lips, he would leave the date, or if they were in one of their houses, he would leave if it was her house, and would kick her out if it was his house.

Waiting for years, he was filled with joy when Irene didn't break the kiss that was the first of many.
