Eunchae Pov:

"Okay second floor first bedroom on the right." I directed, hopping off the motorcycle.

Beside me Yeonjun rushed ahead through the open doorway.

"HYUNJIN?" the boy yelled.

"Yeonjun this way. Upstairs." Sunghoon ordered, dragging his friend to the stairs.

We ran to the bedroom which Hyunjin had told us about and found not her but instead a wardrobe that was radiating red light.

"What's that?" I whimpered.

"A portal?" Sunghoon suggested.

"Are you being serious dude?" Yeonjun spat in disbelief.

Suddenly there were several loud voices from the first floor. I glanced at the two boys beside me, alarmed.

"Yeonjun? Sunghoon? Eunchae? Are you guys here?" A male voice called out.

"Who was that?" Yeonjun stammered.

"What happened to your confidence, HYBE Academy's bad boy?" my boyfriend hissed.

"Guys?" A deep voice sounded from the staircase.

I rolled my eyes and shoved my way between the two boys.

"Move it dummies." I snapped before jumping through the portal.

"Eunchae!"

I blinked as I glanced at my surroundings. Red light everywhere. I looked at my feet and realized that I was standing on nothing, just falling. From behind me, I heard two muffled voices but it quickly faded into white noise as the red light suddenly began to grow brighter, engulfing my body in seconds. I screamed in terror than. . . nothing.

"Eunchae?"

I gasped as I saw a startled Hyunjin gaping down at me. I looked around me and noticed that I was in some sort of ornate living room, complete with a fireplace, bearskin rug, velvet couches, and a dark oak bookshelf.

"You're here! But where's Sunghoon and Yeonj-" Hyunjin began to say before the ceiling suddenly split open and I quickly rolled to my side as the two boys crashed onto the ground.

"Oh there they are." Hyunjin grinned.

"Goddamn. That trip wasn't comfortable." Yeonjun grumbled, sitting up.

"Sorry. But we have no time. Come over here." Hyunjin directed, leading the three of us to a nearby table.

The girl opened a computer and pressed play on a video. I grimaced as Minghao came onto the screen.

"Hello hello? Is this recording? Good. Hello Hyunjin, Yeonjun, Eunchae and Sunghoon. Welcome to the Rift. Right now you guys are in the waiting room. I heard that you weren't really able to learn about the Game, so I have decided in my infinite mercy to help you guys out. Over on the right side of your room you guys should see a generator. There used to be four on the map, but just for you I've decided to upgrade it to five."

"Asshole." I muttered.

"You four will need to repair these and open an exit game to win. If you win you can leave the Rift with your lives and Jun and Aera. My job of course is to kill you. There are several meat hooks on the map. Everytime I down you, I get to impale you on them. 3 impalements and you're dead."

"Great." Yeonjun groaned.

"When a teammate is hooked, the others must rescue them before they bleed out. You may also have the ability to heal injured players. You have 5 minutes after this video before the Game starts. Good luck."

The video then went black. Silence fell among us. The real threat of death had begun to dawn on me and I couldn't help but put my head in my hands.

"At least this is kinda simple." I heard Sunghoon comment behind me.

I glanced over at my boyfriend and noticed him busy tinkering with the generator.

"How so?" I sighed.

"You just connect these wires, pull this lever, and push these two buttons."

"That's it?" Yeonjun huffed.

"Not exactly. There seems to be some sort of progress bar right here."

I approached and peered over the male's shoulder. There was indeed a white bar that was slowly filling up as Sunghoon continued to work.

"Here I'll join you." Hyunjin offered, taking the left side of the machine.

"So will I." I hesitantly joined.

About a minute and a half later the generator sprung to life with a contented hum.

"Great!" Sunghoon smiled.

"Okay just five of those, right?" Yeonjun asked.

"Yeah. And try not to get caught by Minghao." I reminded my friends.

"Oh fuck. I forgot we're playing a game of cat and mouse with that bastard." Hyunjin cursed.

"Yeah. . ."

Suddenly there was a loud roar and the room began to shake as red light filled the area. I quickly locked hands with Hyunjin and Sunghoon.

"Here we go!" Yeonjun yelled.

I closed my eyes and braced for the Game that was about to begin.
