"I say we go to the mall," I tell Archer overly excited.

"Elizabeth, really? So many things we can do and that's what you want to do?" He tells me in disbelief.

I mean the mall was a pretty fun place if you went with the right people. Was Archer the right person to go to the mall with? He's cranky most of the time. Like grandparents. I also have a small shopping addiction, but that's beside the point. Buying make-up and clothes are my kinds of free therapy.

"We can do random shi- snickers there." Not being able to curse in front of Archer was slowly driving me insane. But if he didn't like it, I had to try my best not to do it. But really? Who prefers to say snickers over shit? Not me.

"No. I prefer to stay here." I groan and feel my neck crack as I throw my head back.

"Come on. The park. The place you come to every day?" He ignored me which was kind of rude since we were in the middle of a conversation. He wants to stay in the park with heat and mosquitos then so be it. My black loose jeans and white tank top was not meant for the park. It was meant to be seen by the mall.

"Archer."

Nothing.

"Archer."

Nada.

"Stranger."

No emotion. Nothing.

That's it. I'm leaving.

Like a girl on a mission, I got up and started walking until a hand grabbed mine pulling me to him. The force making us stumble together. Our bodies crashed into one another. I was able to get a hint of his perfume. Woodys, outdoor with a hint of ocean. Quickly we realized how close we were and rapidly took a step back.

"Where are you going Elizabeth?" His voice is serious and doesn't shake. It's steady.

"Leaving. Where are you going, stranger?" I respond with a snide remark.

"The mall. Come on." I tried to hide my smile and the little dance I did, but I'm sure he caught on. We were going to the mall!

~~~
"I want to get piercings," I say. "Let's do it together." I always wanted to get my second piercing done. They would look so cute if I were able to have a small earring accompanied by a bigger one that could dangle down.
"No." That seems to be the only answer I can get from him.
"Why not Archer. It'd be fun."
"No." I'm totally going to get him a big poster that just says no or those big buttons that say 'no' really loudly whenever you press them.
"What happened to the 'fuck it, let's do whatever we want." Darn it. I cursed again, didn't I?
"Elizabeth."
"Fuck sorry. Freak it."
"You did it again." Are we done stating the obvious Archer, I want to tell him, but instead I keep quiet.
"Sorry. Piercings?" I repeat my question. He rolled his eyes at me. Archer scratched the back of his neck and licked his lips before responding.
"Small ones. Really smalls ones." I let out a small happy scream. My pearly teeth showcasing the biggest smile ever. "Stop smiling."
"I rather not." And I really couldn't stop smiling. I just convinced Archy here to get piercings with me.
When we went to Claire's he made a big deal about not entering saying that it ruined his vibe. Whatever that means. I was able to convince him by promising him chocolate cake for a whole week.
He really is a sucker for cake.
As soon as we walk in a young-looking girl, around our age, speaks to us. "What can I do for you guys?" She wiggles her long blond hair side to side as she speaks. You can hear the bubble gum all dried up. She sounds like a cow munching on grass. That constant spat spat spat as she speaks and chews gum. Now I wish I had a cow joke.
"Piercings. A second one for me and first for him." I tell her.
"Let's do it! I'll show you the different styles we have and you'll pick one. Sounds good?"
When it was Archer's turn to get then done, he unknowingly took my hand. Archer Luca was scared of needles. It doesn't really hurt, other than that small millisecond where you feel the clink on your ear. So the one week of chocolate turned into two.
But, damn did he look good with earrings. The small silver shine brought out his brown eyes.
I also secretly bought friendship bracelets that change color depending on your mood. I guess it was a little childish, but I couldn't wait to give it to him.
This is totally why I never go to Claire's. They have so many friendship bracelets. Like those that form a heart and each friend has one half. Ugh! So cute.
"The toy store?" I said standing next to him outside the store. Did we walk away from Claire's only to stop in front of this?
"Obviously." He said in a stupid tone.
"You're a child," I tell him.
"I'm older than you."
Only by a few months, I wanted to add.
"Still a child."
"Shut up and come on." He said grabbing my hand and leading me inside the store.
He grabbed my hand... for the second time today.
Elizabeth chill, why am I getting so excited.
This was like a winter wonderland of toys. I was never a toy girl. I preferred coloring and playing outside. I did however have an unhealthy obsession with Bratz. They were the best, nobody can prove me wrong.
We walked to the boy's section and Archer started picking out toys.
"Nerf guns?" I ask him. There were thousands of options. Grey with orange ones. Orange and white. Blue and grey. Different styles of bullets and different gun sizes.
"Yes. One for you and one for me."
"Why?" I asked him. I was curious.
"Do you not want to play nerf with me?" He said. I could tell he was disappointed by the way his shoulders dropped.
"I do." But did I really? I'm an only child, playing kill your opponent was never part of my hobbies.
"Then let's go."
We paid for the nerf guns and when we got out of the mall, it was already night. My favorite time. We went to the car and sat down. I thought we were going back to our houses, but Archer had other plans.
"What are you doing?"
"What does it look like I'm doing Elizabeth? We are playing nerf." He stated the obvious.
"Are you serious?" Why do I even ask? Of course, he's serious about this.
"Yes."
"What if someone sees us? Or worse we hit someone." The parking was almost empty, but I don't know. Someone could come up and kill us with a real gun. I'm too young to die.
"What is the thing you say? Frick it." He said as he handed me one of the nerf guns.
"Fuck it." I correct him.
"Elizabeth."
"I'm sorry." We got out of the car and walked to the entrance.
"Let's do this."
"Wait." He got down on one knee and started tying my shoe. "Wouldn't want you falling down and getting hurt, would we?" He said softly squeezing my hand.
But suddenly I forgot every word in the English language. I didn't say anything. Just nodded my head.
He tied my shoe and I just stood there and nodded my head. What. The. Fuck.
"Rules. Hit the opposing member." He said before he started running away.
"Hey! That's not fair." I said running after him. I'm totally getting him. My long legs are equal to ostriches and aren't they like the fastest animals in the world?
"Use your bird powers Elizabeth." He screamed back at me. Bird powers. I chuckled at that. Better than an ostrich.
"Hah. Got you!" I said as the foam bullet stabbed his back.
"Funny. Three-second head start."
"I deserve more." I pout and cross my arms around my chest. Even if the heat of the summer was taking over, nighttime still felt chilly.
"You snooze you lose." He pointed his gun at me and hit my stomach.
"Rude much."
"Never Elizabeth." He said running off to the parking lot again. He was too far away and I was out of breath, so I did what any normal person would do. I used my many years of acting training.
"Fuck. Archer. I think I hurt my ankle." I fall down and grab my totally hurt ankle. I try not to blink so tears start forming in my eyelids. My eyes are drying up.
What?" He ran back to me. "Really. How?"
"Walking."
"Here. Let me help you." He said wrapping my arm around his shoulder. Thankfully I had my good hand available and shot him in the side.
"Got you, stranger!" I said laughing. A small smile formed on his lips and he did his best to hide it.
"You scared me."
"Catch me," I said. This time it was me running into the parking. I heard him running after me and I heard when he tried shooting me, but instead of hitting me, he hit the cop on duty got it.
Fuck.
"That's not good," I said.
"You two! Come here."
"Wherever life takes us stranger," Archer said, grabbing my hand running towards the car. You could hear our laughter as we got in the car and were able to escape the officer.
Best fucking night, ever.
