8: Coordinator

Aria POV :

"Okay that wasn't cool". Maya replied a bit annoyed.

"Why didn't you punch her on the face". Clara commented also being annoyed.

That's why I like Clara at times. She prefer more action and less talking in an argument.

I just finished telling Maya and Clara what happened in the kitchen and they were fully annoyed.

"You know I don't get what's Lucy's problem at times, she's bipolar". Clara said and I shrugged my shoulder.

"I'm so exhausted right now and I would like to crash peacefully, I'm tired of talking".

I said now changing into the night dress I was given when I first came here. The night dress was too short and I didn't like it but the rule states maidens aren't meant to wear their uniforms after work hours.

After changing I went straight to bed and laid down covering myself with the blanket.

"You know I can't wait for the arrival of the prince, Aria". Maya said.

This so called prince, why is he even talked by so many people? What importance does he serve to many people. Young women will kill their way to be by his side. Why?

I don't blame myself. You know why? Because I've never set my eyes on him before. All my life was books and studying. My childhood was boring, you don't need to tell me.

"You know why?" Maya asked me.

"No".

"His like an idol I just like". She said.

I turned my head to the right to see a smile on her face.

"Don't forget that he's so hot".

Clara complimented with a playful smile.

"He's also so cute". Maya said

"And also a handsome man". Clara replied.

"He's so smart". Maya complimented.

"Lets not forget that he's in resistable". Clara replied.

Right now I'm lost, I'll just stay out of their conversation.

"I love his assent". Clara said.

"It's so polished". Maya complimented.

"Arh... can you keep it down, trying to catch some sleep here".

I asked politely.

"Oh babe you won't understand, until you set your eyes on him". Maya advised.

"Then I'll wait for his arrival". I answered nonchalantly.

Morning approached so soon and we royal maids were now in the hall practising the dancing steps. Clara and the rest of guardians left to arrange things for the prince arrival.

I was been told that the prince will return a day before his coronation, that will be on Saturday, now I get the reason for the to and fro movement of the maids.

I refused to enter the kitchen during the morning hours, right now It's noon and I'm heading there right now.

I entered into the kitchen to see every one staring at me and I wasn't comfortable with it.

"Why are you all staring at me like owls".

I asked and they all chuckled, I found that scary. I think today is my doom. Funny enough they aren't cooking lunch yet, we are all in trouble.

"Why are you all standing and doing nothing, we are all in trouble if lunch isn't prepared".

I said and they all nodded their head, what the hell is wrong with this girls?

"Can you please show us the right steps". Sarah spoke up.

"I don't know any... ".

"Just tell us what to do". Sarah requested calmly.

"Are you sure I'm not bother... ".

" No you're not". She cuts in again.

"Arh... Okay you all should arrange in three at every counter".

I said calmly and they did so. Wow! Is time to be the boss girl.

"The three girls close to the fire add more firewood". I said and they started doing so.

"The three of you, I want you three to cut enough onion, spring onion, pepper, cabbage, carrots and don't forget the green beans. Start".

And they began.

"We've added enough firewood to the fire Aria". The girls close the fire spoke.

"Beautiful now get the medium size pot and place it on top of it".

And they did so.

"Sarah and the two girls beside her get the spaghettis for me". I requested and they quickly did.

They opened the spaghettis and proceed to pouring it in to the pot filled with water.

"Don't do that". I stopped their action.

Sarah and the two girls looked at me confused.

"The pot of water haven't boiled, if you pour the spaghettis into the cool water it soaks water and melts after cooking".

I corrected and they nodded their head.

"Lucy can you please help in squeezing out the water from the fresh oranges".

I asked politely and she kept on staring at me blankly, every one turned to hear her reply and she smiled.

"Yes dear, I'll love to".

She answered and it caught me off guard, she called me dear. I saw myself smiling.

"Sarah and the girls please assist Lucy in doing so, once you're done, don't added water just put some ice cube in it". I advised.

"Aria the water is boiling". The three girls beside the fire reminded.

"Beautiful, now break the spaghettis into the pot only once". I mentioned and they did so.

"Aria we are done cutting the vegetable ingredients".

"Nice one 😀. Get a clean pot and pour them into it".

And they quickly did so.

"Aria we're done squeezing the juice out of the fresh oranges". Lucy said.

"Thank you Sarah, Lucy and the two girls go cut and wash the fishes". I said and they left to do so.

"Aria we've poured the vegetable ingredients into the pot". The three girls said.

Seriously I'm not good with remembering names.

"Beautiful, now please cut and pound fresh tomatoes". I said and they nodded their head in agreement.

"Haven't the spaghetti cook already". I asked

"Yes but we are waiting for it to dry up". One of the three girls close to the fire answered.

"That's completely wrong, if you let the spaghetti dry up with such amount of water. It will be to watery for eating, get a basket and pour it out". And they all nodded in agreement.

"Aria we are done with pounding the tomatoes". The three reminded.

"Pour it into the vegetable and add the necessary stew seasonings". And they did.

"We've poured out the water from the spaghetti". The there girls close to the fire said.

"Now you three should put the stew pot on the fire". And they did.

"We're done washing the fishes and we've put the necessary seasons". Sarah said

"Okay go get the plates ready". I said and she left as Lucy with the two girls followed behind.

The three girls who stood close to fire and also the three girls who cut the vegetables and tomatoes kept on smiling and I don't get why.

"The stew have cooked". One of the girl among the six of them said.

"Wonderful, bring it down and serve it on a plate with the spaghetti".

I walked up to the pot which contained the cut fishes and placed it on the fire. After some minutes it was cooked and then we fried it.

We placed the fishes beside the spaghetti and the garnished stew. My mouth was watery but I surfaced my temptation not to pick from the food.

Lucy and Sarah left to serve the food to the king and queen with the chilled orange juice, after 30 minutes they returned with sad faces and the tray of food covered.

Why are they sad? The food was prepared smoothly so Why would the king and queen return it back?

"What did they say?" I asked with full curiosity.

"It was the best, they loved it and appreciated us all". Sarah said jumping around happily.

"I'm happy to hear that". I said and turned to leave the kitchen.

"Where are you going royal coordinator?" Lucy questioned.

"To my duty post". I answered trying to make sure I heard right, did she just call me a royal coordinator and she replied with an

"Oh".

"I enjoyed cooking with ya Aria, you're our coordinator ".

She appreciated and I smiled in answer, in seconds all the maids in the kitchen gather and hugged me. I felt important for the first time.

Maybe being in this palace isn't totally a Prison even though it kills the carrier of young women. I really like the name called coordinator.
