Aria POV :

It was morning and I myself was shocked that I woke up early. That means I haven't done something completely.

Oh... yes I've got to make the herbal tea for the king. From now on you and I will call him Anthony when necessary.

I got up from my bed and went to the bathroom to do my business. Got dressed and went straight to the kitchen. I entered into the kitchen to see some of the maidens baking bread.

"Good morning Aria". One of them greeted with a smile.

"Good morning, love". I replied.

I quickly picked up pumpkin leaves and separated it from Its stem. I pounded it and squeezed out the juice, putting two spoons of powered milk. I made a fresh orange juice and placed it on a tray putting the baked bread in the middle of the orange juice and the herbal tea. I turned leaving the kitchen.

"Where are you going with that?". One of the maidens asked pointing at the tray I was holding.

"I'll be back".

I said and left, heading to the king's room.

I knocked on it but no response. I knocked once more and the door got opened by him. I quickly stepped in as he closed the door.

"How do you feel?". I saw myself asking.

"A bit bett... ".

He cut off as he almost fell to the floor because of the pain on his stomach. Luckily I was standing close to him so he quickly dropped on me his hand over my shoulder as he held his stomach with the other hand. I dropped the tray of food on a cupboard and supported him wrapping one of my hand on his waist as I gradually lead him to his bed.

He sat down on the bed resting his back on the board. I went back to the cupboard and picked up the tray of food as I handed him the herbal tea.

He looked at me confused contemplating on whether to drink it or not.

"You need to take it to kill the poison in your digestive system". I explained.

He took a last glance on the liquid and drank the tea.

"That wasn't bad". He commented and began eating his breakfast.

I turned to leave heading to his door.

" Just wait a little, I'll soon be done with my meal".

"It Isn't necessary, I'll return for the dishes course I've got a lot to do". I replied and stepped out from his room.

I went straight to the Royal hall and started cleaning the floor with the tooth brush and someone threw dirt on the floor. I looked up to see Tianna and her minions.

I ignored her and continued to brush the floor, later I'll clean it up.

She threw another dirt on the floor and this time, it was in front of me. Then she laughed. Anger built within and I asked.

"That wasn't funny Tianna".

"Oh it wasn't". She asked in sarcasm.

I didn't actually felt like settling down for trouble so I picked up a broom and packed it up.

"It seems like your too shameless to talk, anyways how has it been, being disgraced by the king?". Tianna asked and laughed in satisfaction. She's happy tormenting me.

"And It's you who will be disgraced". I heard prince Kiran say.

"Oh your highness good morning". Tianna greeted.

"Save your greetings, why stand around doing not, instead get out".

"Yes your highness". She said and left with her girls.

Prince Kiran walked up to me with guards behind him.

"You okay?". He asked and I nodded my head.

"It seems she's scared of you". I said and Kiran scoffed.

"She left immediately because I've got guards with me, if she disobeys my order there's a possibility that my guards will report her to the king". He elaborated.

"Anyways Aria, how do I look". Prince Kiran asked.

"You look good". I complimented.

"Are you really sure, I'm not missing anything?"

"Nop, you're good the way you're".

"Are you trying to impress someone". I saw myself asking.

"Of course".

"Is it a she".

"Yep".

"You like that she".

"Definitely".

"Had a conversation with her".

"Nop". He answered as his happy face dropped.

"Oh dear what's it?".

"She's talks less in class and likes staying on her own, the person she chooses to talk with is just a girl".

"What's her name?".

"Her name is Rosy and her friend's name is Lisa".

"Try to talk to her and see her response".

"Yeah, that's exactly what I want to do today, so how do I look". He asked making a handsome face.

"Oh did I forget to say that you're handsome".

"Really?". He asked skeptically.

"Yep".

"Okay I'm on my way".

"Bye". I said as he left off while the guards followed him behehind.

What a cute little boy, I wonder why his brother the king is the complete opposite Instead negative.

I was done cleaning the hall as I left to the kitchen to prepare lunch for his highness. Once I was done, I quickly left the kitchen heading to the king's room.

I knocked on his door but no response.

"Your highness It's me, Aria".

There wasn't any response yet, I quietly opened the door and entered inside leaving the door a bit opened.

I glanced at his room but he wasn't laying on his bed.

I dropped the tray of food on his bed and called.

"King Anthony".

"Aria is that you, wait a sec I'm coming". He said, I then noticed he was in the bathroom.

Oh no, I need to get out. I quickly walked up to the opened door and quietly stepped out, that's when he stepped out of the bathroom as I closed the door.

"Aria". I heard him call my name from his room.

I left to fill the drums with water and as I did I was deep in thoughts.

"Hello". A voice greeted.

I looked up to see it was Joseph.

"It seems like you can't avoid me". I murmured a bit frustrated.

"Come on don't say that, just rest I'll help you fill the drums, you shouldn't be doing this kind of work during this weather".

Joseph said calmly as I poured another bucket of water into the drum.

"Tell that to the king". I muttered out.

Joseph tried to collect the bucket from me but I refused.

I don't need this now, I just want to finish this and heard to the market anytime soon. My head hurts a lot and the scotching sun isn't helping at all.

"Aria, I'll like to help you, you look exhausted already". He ushered.

"Joseph go stick your nose somewhere else". I said out of tiredness.

I glanced at him and he was sad with my response. He quickly grabbed the bucket from me and went straight to the well.

"Joseph what the hell are you doing?". I asked a bit annoyed.

"I'm obviously helping you".

"You little fly".

He fetched the water from the well and walked up to the drum and poured the water into it.

"Thanks for your help, give the bucket back to me ".

" No". He answered standing in front me.

"I want my bucket right...".

I was cut out of my sentence when the pain in my stomach and my head increased, I felt my body being weightless but at an instant Joseph held me.

"You see, why don't you rest for a while". Joseph said looking at me being concerned.

"Well I think you're right". I said and sat down on a stool close to the drums.

After a while, Joseph was done filling the drums. I'll call that man power. I got up from the stool and walked up to him.

"Thank you so much".

"No need for you to say". He replied and I sensed something conniving about it.

"Why did you help me? Be more sincere". I asked with a straight face.

"Okay then, I helped because I wanted and also to win your friendship".

"You've got to be joking". I said wanting to slap him.

"I'm serious".

"And if I say no".

"I'll keep helping 😌".

"Fine! We are friends then".

"Really?". He asked skeptically.

"Yeah yeah, just stop bugging me around unless some idiots in this palace may think otherwise".

"No problem".

He said and I turned around to leave for the market. Today we are making chicken pepper soup for the royal family as dinner. I was finally back from the market and I did the most work in the kitchen because the kitchen maidens couldn't prepare the soup with better tastes.

I stayed in the kitchen cleaning the dishes as I thought of how I'll eat dinner after fetching firewood for tomorrow cooking. I don't think I'll end up eating any food this night.

"Aria, The king's parents seeks your presence". Sarah said.

"Did I do something wrong, I never broke any rules, I'll soon go fetch firewood for cooking, I've always ahead to rules and regu...".

"Calm down, I don't think you did anything wrong, just go see them first". Sarah cuts in,  her hands on my shoulder.

"Okay, that's a good idea". I responded a bit agitated and went to the royal dinning room.

"Good evening elder king and queen, how can I be of help?". I asked with my head bowed low.

"You've done a lot for us and I am forever great full for such". The elder king known as Anthony father said.

"Yes we appreciate". The elder queen also known as Anthony mother said but she wasn't sincere about it.

"I apologies but I can't remember what I did to receive such praises from you, elder king and queen".

"You helped my son the king yesterday night, forgotten all the sudden?". Anthony father asked as realization hit me.

I raised my head to see Anthony staring at me carefully with an amused expression. What is he amused of.

"Oh my, it was nothing, seriously, I was just doing my duties as a royal maid nothing more".

"I know, you're a nice person and I like that". Anthony father said with a smile on his face.

Anthony gave his father a narrow look and placed his attention back on his meal.

"Son, be nice to her, she's different from others". Anthony father said once more.

What does he mean by that?

"Oh pls enough of this nonsense, leave this place this instinct". Anthony mother ordered being upset.

"Yes ma". I replied and left immediately.

I stood behehind the dinning room door to listen to what she would say.

"What is the meaning of that? What do you even mean by that? He should be nice to her? There is no relationship between a slave and a king". Anthony mother said angrily.

"Esther she saved our son". Anthony father replied being annoyed.

"Pls, save it. If she saved our son, so what? My son has no busy with that non living thing, David". Anthony mother replied with equal annoyance.

Wow! I've suddenly become a non living thing. In this world no one can ever understand your worth.

"You can never change Esther, I'm tired of you sometimes". Anthony father whose name is David said and left the dinning room.

"Son don't listen to your father, he's saying complete nonsense". Anthony mother whose name is Esther said facing her son.

"Mother calm down, I've heard you", Anthony said and left the dinning room heading to his room.

It seems like whatever a good person does, they can't be appreciated for it. Well, I'll leave it to them, I'm playing my role so that I'll tell my children of my good deeds and that way, I'll go to heaven.

For I know I'm a caring person in and out. I made sure nothing bad happened to king Anthony, I carried out all my duties and tried to make everyone seem important.

One day I'll be payed for my generosity. My generosity can open waves to others.
