Anthony POV:

I sat on an arm chair in my room, reading a documentary of Asian countries. I dropped the book on the side table, picked up my glass of water and took a sip of it.

My eyes instantly glanced at my junior brother to see him smiling to himself. Without bothering to ask why, I picked my book up and continue to read. In seconds I heard Kiran giggling for a reason I don't understand. I dropped my book on my laps and stared at him carefully.

"Why are you smiling and giggling like an idiot". I immediately asked.

"I made a new friend today". He answered looking at me with a happy face.

What type of friend would my brother have a conversation with to make him feel this way.

"Who is it?" I asked curiously going back to reading my book.

"Is one of the royal maiden in this palace".

This kid got to be joking.

"You had to stoop so low to make friends with a servant?"

"She's not just any type of servant, she's beautiful 😍, nice and friendly".

He complimented. What the hell is wrong with this kid.

I placed my book back on my laps to look at him carefully, I think he isn't feeling alright today.

"If it was other maidens of this palace, at that moment I met them, they behave like hypocrites and always use me to get close to you. But she was different, we talked to each other like you never existed". He said grinning.

"Not Funny bro, I do exist".

"Yah whatever, her name is Aria". He said in a dreamy way.

"I've got no idea of who you're referring to". I said boringly.

"How can you not know her, Mrs. Maggie always talk about her at the dinning room". He spoke out in disbelief.

"Still got no idea of who you're referring to".

"Aria the royal kitchen maid".

"Still no idea".

"Anthony you're unbelievable, she wore a scarf around her head and have a golden brown hair, any idea".

Wait a sec, is he talking about that woman who caught my attention while displaying a dance on my coronation day. No way, it can't be.

"No". I lied and Kiran stare at me being annoyed.

"You're just so annoying Anthony, you know what? Go back to reading your boring book". He said and laid on my bed staring at the ceiling.

"You said her name is Aria, right?" I saw myself asking.

"Yeah, why ask?"

"Just want to keep in mind, in case I sight your friend around".

It was evening and I was done signing all the contracts I have with other kingdoms, except from kingdom of simplicity. Does idiotic fools want the mangrove of this kingdom and I won't give it to them, if it leads to war so be it. They had the thought to assassinate me and here they ask for a request.

There came a knock on the door, bringing me out from my thoughts as I slowly answered.

"Yes".

And then came in my father.

"Evening father".

"Same to you dear Anthony". He replied sitting on the chair opposite mine close to the table.

"What are your first plan for the betterment of this palace as a whole?"

For hell sake, I was crowned king yesterday, why are you expecting a done assignment so soon, anyways I'm ready for you all. I gave him a paper script, he immediately scanned through it and his expression showed disagreement with my task.

"Son why change the arrangement of the guards?"

"That's how I want it".

"It doesn't make any sense".

"It does to me".

"Anthony, on normal circumstances, the 10 guards standing outside the palace walls should not be placed inside the palace walls". He explained.

Poor man It's for my benefit and I can't explain why.

"That's exactly how I want it; 8 inside while 2 outside and that's final".

Father stared at me ready to hit me on the head but won't.

"Any other plan". He ask trying to conceal his anger.

"Oh yes".

I replied handing him another paper script. I seriously love this script I'm giving to him where I watch 11 females suffer. He read it carefully and his eyebrows squeezed with huge disagreement and anger.

"Son what the heck is this".

"My plans for this palace".

"Why this way, you're treating them like slaves". He mentioned.

"That's what they are". I replied staring at him in the eyes

"I disapprove this nonsense".

"Why say so?"

"Because I say so Anthony".

"Oh please, I'm the king and they don't tell a king what to do".

"They do, you're my son, so I can".

"Shut it old man".

I said angrily standing up from my chair, I collected the two script from him arrogantly.

"Matthew". I called my second trusted guard.

"Yes your Majesty".

"The first script is about guards arrangement read it out for them, the second script give it to Mrs. Margaret, tell her those rules must be carried out strictly, leave now".

"Yes your Majesty ".

He answered and left. I placed my attention back on my father and he glared at me angrily. He got up and left my room.

Father it seems like you haven't learnt from your mistake and you've completely forgotten those things which has the royal title almost scattered your home.

I left my room heading to the dinning for dinner. On getting there, I didn't see father but mother, Kiran and Mrs. Margaret was present. I walked up to my chair and sat down.

"Anthony where's your father?" Mother asked.

"No idea".

"But he told me he was heading to your room to discuss important issue". She said.

"We're done with the discussion".

"Mrs. Margaret, tell brother about Aria". Kiran spoke enthusiastically.

In seconds some maidens came out form the kitchen with foods on the tray, they all served us and went back into the kitchen.

"Oh. Anthony dear, she's talented and she has a good leading spirit. She handles things accurately. Aria is a royal kitchen maiden chosen by your father as his last choice it..."

At Mrs. Margaret last sentence I choked hearing so.

The woman called Aria was chosen by father as his last choice. What does my father see in maidens, isn't his wife enough for him. I glanced at my mother to see her less bother about it.

"Are you okay Anthony". Kiran asked a bit worried.

"Good". I replied gulping a glass of water.

"She..."

"That's isn't necessary, I'm off". I said cutting Mrs. Margaret once again.

"Any thing wrong dear". Mother asked.

"No".

Every thing is wrong, who the hell is this Aria of a woman? I'll make her suffer the most, what relationship does she have with my father?

I quickly got up heading to my study room to study some important task for the kingdom. If I sight that woman, she's gone.

Morning came like a gift and I was happy about it. I got up from my bed, entered into the bathroom and did the necessary.

I wore my cloths and fuck off the royal robe. I left my room to make sure all my rules were been carried out. Heading outside the palace building, I saw that the arrangement of the guards were done in my favour. I turned around and entered into the palace to see how those maidens were struggling.

Immediately I was crowned the king, I was able to know the arrangement and the duties of the royal maids.

The 1st five cleans the royal floor, they won't us brushes to sweep the floors Instead they'll use hand brooms to do so, they won't use dusting brush but they'll use hand rag to clean the statues every single day and for the moping they'll use hand brush to wash the floors and I don't care if it will take them for ever to finish their work.

I was told that the 1st three maiden planted new tulip flower for the ceremony and I have ordered them to cut it down and replant it by planting sunflower and queen of the night flower. I've also ordered them to cut all the grass and replant new once.

The 1st two will clean the throne room by using rags and finally,

The only kitchen royal maid will be the only person fetching 12 fire woods everyday. I don't care if she's woman she'll do it.

I passed through the royal floors to see that they were doing according as they were told, both the royal garden maidens and the throne room arrangers. Now I'm heading to kitchen to see the Royal kitchen maid.

Inside I feel excited and that excitement is to see her struggle.

"Where it the Royal kitchen maid". I asked boldly looking at all the kitchen maids.

"Your majesty she is cleaning the royal hall". A lady I assume her name is Sarah answered being intimidated by my presense.

"Have she done her kitchen duty".

"Yes your majesty ".

She answered as I left heading to the royal hall.

I got there to see her washing the floor with a brush as she sweated at the same time.

Kiran was right she wears a scarf on her head and has a golden brown hair. Now I want to see how pretty she is.

I walked in front her but she didn't notice me and I felt annoyed. I used my shoe and kicked of the brush in her hands. She instantly looked up with an annoyed expression, when she knew I was the one her facial expression changed to shock.

"Good afternoon your majesty". She said bending her head in respect.

"Keep that hypocritical greeting to yourself, you knew I was standing before you but pretended that you didn't sight me from far".

"With due respect your majesty, I never knew you were standing right in front of me. I was so engrossed in my duty and never noticed". She explained.

"And is that an excuse?" I asked being annoyed by her reply.

"No, I'm giving my reasons".

The way she speaks with confidence was something I don't even see in princesses. She was something else. There was no denial that she was really pretty.

"Are you arguing with me?"

"No your majesty". She replied looking at me in the eyes

"A slave like you shouldn't stare at me in the eyes".

"I'm not a slave". She said placing her eyes on the marble floor.

"You said what?"

Her reply triggered my anger.

"I said I'm not a slave".

"Who gave you the guts to talk to I the king in such a mannerless way".

"I have the right to defend myself, your majesty".

"Are you challenging me?"

"No I'm not".

"Who the hell are you?"

I asked now holding her on the collar of her maid uniform dragging her up on her feet.

"Firstly your highness, you accused me of being hypocritical, secondly you called me a slave. This gives a reason for me to defend myself". She elaborated.

Out of anger I slapped her on the face which made her drop to the floor.

"How dear you speak to me in such way, moron?"
"It seems the way you work in this palace isn't hard enough for you, fool". I spoke angrily.

I'm going to show her who the boss is around here. I saw a passing maiden and called for her.

"Go to her room, ask the maidens there for her toothbrush".

"Yes your majesty".

She answered, left and came back handing me Aria's toothbrush and quickly left,

"You fool what's your name?" I asked even though I knew.

"Aria".

"This is your toothbrush, you'll use it to brush the floor from now on. I don't care how long it will take you".

I said and turned around to leave but before I left I kicked the bucket of water on the floor and said.

"Start all over and clean this up".

Now I know who she is, I'll makes her live miserable. She speaks with confidence, knows how to defend herself boldly, has a very pretty face.
