Y/N POV

Winter: "So this is the person you wrote of. How... underwhelming."

Ruby: "Uh, thanks."

Winter: "Greeting Ruby. I wish to thank you for taking an interest in my sister."

Ruby: "Oh, of course. The honor is in my... court."

Winter: "I have business with the General and your headmaster. But seeing as I'm early, why don't you take me to your quarters?"

Weiss: "Really?"

Winter: "Yes, I wish to inspect them and make sure they're up to my personal standards."

Weiss: "Of course. Just so you're aware, the bunk beds only look unstable."

Winter: "Bunk... beds?"

Ruby: "We'll catch up- wait, uh... I mean, we will... reconvene with you both at a later... juncture!"

I pat her back and slightly smile.

Y/N: "Never change kid."

The next day the doubles rounds begin and it starts with Coco and Yatsuhashi vs Emerald and Mercury.The fight begins and Emerald and Mercury head into the grassy section of the arena. Coco fires her gatling gun which mows down the grass only for Emerald and Mercury to not be there. Mercury comes flying downwards at Coco but Yatsu pushes her out of the way and uses his sword to block Mercury's boot.

Mercury jumps off Yatsu's sword and creates a dome of attacks. Once he fires one the rest follow suit and hit Yatsu and Coco. A chain then wraps around Coco's waist and yanks her into the forest section of the arena. Yatsu pushes Mercury into the geyser section and goes to slam his sword down on Mercury. However he dodges and kicks Yatsu onto the ground. His head lands near a geyser which erupts and blinds him. Mercury uses his blindness to get the jump on him and kick him out of the fight.

Meanwhile Emerald and Coco engages in a gunfight while Emerald swings from tree to tree. She disappears then reappears behind Coco. Emerald swings her sickle at her and she is taken out of the fight. The next few rounds go by and the first ever singles round is between Yang and mercury. That ends with Yang attacking mercury out of the blue scaring all of us. Into the next day the next singles round is Penny and Pyrrha. That isn't any better because the end result is Penny in pieces on the ground.

Voice: "This is not a tragedy. This was not a accident. This is what happens when you hand over your trust, your safety, your children to men who claim to be our guardians. But are in reality nothing more than men. Our academies' headmasters wield more power than most armies and one was audacious enough to control both. They cling to this power in the name of peace and yet, what do we have here? One nations' attempt at a synthetic army mercilessly torn apart by another's star pupil. What need would Atlas have for a soldier disguised as an innocent little girl? I don't think the Grimm can tell the difference, and what I ask you is Ozpin teaching his students? First a dismemberment now this? Huntsmen and Huntresses should carry themselves with honor and mercy. Yet I have witnessed neither. Perhaps Ozpin thought defeating Atlas in the tournament would help people forget his colossal failure to protect Vale when the Grimm invaded its streets. Or perhaps this was his message to the tyrannical dictator that has occupied an unsuspecting kingdom with armed forces. Honestly? I haven't the slightest clue as to who is right and who is wrong. But I know that the existence of peace is fragile and the leaders of our kingdoms conduct their business with iron gloves. As someone who hails from Mistral I can assure you, the situation there is equally undesirable. Our kingdoms are at the brink of war, yet we the citizens are left in the dark. So I ask you, when the first shots are fired who do you think you can trust?"

The voice goes away and the whole place goes into a panic. People start screaming making sirens blare. To make matters far worse a Nevermore lands on the arena barrier and begins pecking at it. It manages to break it and fall into the arena. I snap out of my daze and fire my machine gun at it.

It squawks and looks at me which lets another student cut open its throat killing it. The students call their weapons to them and we head out of the arena to see General Ironwood doing battle with a larger version of a Beowolf.
