Y/N POV

I lay down the last set of utensils and hear Ren speak.

Ren: "Alright, the first batch is just about done."

Ruby: "Awesome! Now we just need Qrow and we'll be all set."

Nora: "Do you really think they're going to bring that many people? This is a lot of food."

Ruby: "Uh, I don't know. But it sounds like we can use all the help we can get."

Qrow: "I'm back."

Ruby: "Be right there!"

Ren: "You're going to overcook that."

Ruby: "No I'm not, shut up!"

Qrow: "Hey, uh, Ruby?"

Ruby: "I'm coming."

She gasps as smoke comes off the food pan.

Ruby: "Fine, you take over."

She walks away when the sound of glass breaking is heard. I run to the living room and go wide eyed seeing Yang and Weiss. Yang spots me and calmly walks to me. Our eyes meet and we smile as we lean close and kiss each other.

Y/N: "It's good to see you again firecracker."

Yang: "Same here N/N."

We lock hands and head into the kitchen to eat.

Yang: "How do you lose your map at a time like that?"

Jaune: " Believe me, I've asked myself the same thing ever since."

Nora: "Hey, but you made up for it, mister muscles. You shoulda seen this guy take a giant Grimm head on!"

Jaune: "I couldn't have done it without your help."

I refill my bowl as Weiss explains what all she's been up to.

Ruby: "You did not!"

Weiss: "Yeah, right in the middle of the party."

Yang: "Please tell me you let that lady have it."

Weiss: "Of course not. Even if I did really want to."

Nora: "No way, I don't believe it."

Weiss makes an ice boar Grimm and Nora screams when she sees it. We laugh at her reaction when Yang stands up and shows off her robotic right arm.

Yang: "It's not a replacement for the real thing, but I'll be sure to make good use of it."

Ruby: "And it's just as strong?"

Yang: "Sure is."

Nora: "Wanna bet?"

They lock hands and begin an arm wrestling match.

Nora: "It definitely feels like the original, I'll give you that."

Yang: "Yep. But, it does have some new features."

Nora: "Oh yeah?"

Yang presses a button which makes her arm fly away from her. Nora is pinned to the wall and looks at her hand. She screams and tosses Yang's arm back. Yang laughs as she catches and reconnects it.

Ren: "It's been a long time. We've all grown up in our own ways."

Ruby: "You really think so?"

Ren: "Well, think back to when we were all at Beacon, would you say you ever did anything foolish or embarrassing? Or do you think you were perfect?"

Yang: "I may have been a little too gung-ho from time to time."

Ruby: "You? I tried to 1v1 a Nevermore on the second day of school."

Jaune: "Yeah, well, don't even get me started."

Ren: "Well that embarrassment, that desire to go back and tell yourself not to be so stupid, that just proves you're not the same person you used to be. You're smarter, or kinder, or stronger and you're not done growing yet. None of us are."

Nora: "Well, hold on, I thought I was pretty great in school."

Yang: "Even at the dance when you spilled punch all over yourself in front of-"

Nora: "Yes, especially at the dance! Thank you, Yang!"

We all head into the living room where Ozpin fills Yang and Weiss in on everything.

Weiss: "Maidens, magic, Salem, it's all real?"

Qrow: "Yep."

Ozpin: "Does this match what your mother said."

Weiss: "Mostly."

Yang: "Except what you did to my mother and Qrow."

Qrow: "Oh boy."

Ozpin: "Like the Maidens, I can perform magic as well. With it I was able to give Raven and Qrow to ability to move freely past their natural bodily limits, which was the ability to turn themselves into birds."

Yang: "Why do something like that?"

Qrow: "It was a choice we made."

Ruby: "Why not do this with others?"

Ozpin: "Because my power is dwindling. It was not my intention to hide things from you all. There are just some things I prefer to keep to myself. You all have a choice, if you want to leave then you are free to do so. You will not to be looked down upon for there is only shame in retreating."

We all stay silent which makes Ozpin turn around.

Ozpin: "Good."

Yang: "If we're going to fight with you, we want you to start being more honest with us. No more lies or half truths."

Ozpin: "Understood."

Jaune: "So what now? I mean what can we do?"

Ozpin: "That is a difficult question. One that I believe is best answered tomorrow."

Jaune: "What do you mean?"

Ozpin: "The road ahead is undoubtedly filled with hardships and peril. However, it's been far too long since you have all been together. Please, take tonight, enjoy this moment."
