Chapter Eighteen: See You Later

Lucy's P.O.V

I lay'd on my bed early the next morning staring at the ring on my left hand.

I'm engaged.

To Leo the Lion

It's not terrible but it could be better. I only wish we didn't have to act like a couple in front of everyone. It feels so wrong and I know that it's going to hurt Aires.

But I guess I have to do it.

It's my last day here in the Dragon Realm. I'm coming back but that's only after all of my training in the Celestial Kingdom and with the Gods and Demons. I am so excited to learn all of this new magic, but I've only just gotten my mother back and I won't be seeing her for basically another three years... It's sad and disappointing but I've got to do it.

I sigh and stretch my arms. I look over at the clock and it's only seven o'clock, a bit later in the day then I thought. I get up off of my bed and go into the bathroom to have a shower. After my shower I get dressed into a black skirt and pink singlet, then slipped into some brown boots that went just above my ankle. I put my belt on and then hocked my keys onto it.

As I was tying my hair into low ponytails, I heard a nock at the door.

"Come in." I said to who ever was behind the door.

"Good morning Lucy. Don't you look lovely." Igneel said as he entered my bedroom.

"Oh, good morning to you too Igneel. I wasn't expecting it to be you at the door, I thought it was going to be Stella." I greeted, finishing off my ponytails.

"Stella is currently having breakfast down stairs. So I thought I would come and get you instead." Igneel replied.

"That doesn't bother me. Are we going down for breakfast?" I asked.

"Yes we are. Your mother is waiting for us so we best get a move on." He answered.

I nodded and walked through my bedroom door with Igneel following behind. We entered the kitchen and saw that stella was reading something on her clipboard and that my mother was sitting at the head of the table.

"Ah, good morning Lucy. how was your sleep?" My mother asked.

"Good morning mum and I slept just fine. How about you?" I asked.

"A little restless, but overall it was a good sleep." Mum replied.

"Thats good then. Now what are we having for breakfast?" I asked, as I sat down to the seat on my mother's left, Igneel sitting across from me.

"Bacon and eggs with toast." I heard Stella reply.

"Sounds good." I said.

My mother asked one of the butlers to bring our breakfast out. When the food finally reached the table we all dug in. After we finished our breakfast, another butler brought out some tea for all of us.

"So, Lucy." My mother said as she took a seep of her tea. "Are you excited for tomorrow?"

"Yeah, a little. I'm just a bit disappointed that I don't get to spend more time with you." I say as I bow my head over my tea cup.

"It's okay sweetheart... We will be together after your training. We'll have all the time in the world." She replied.

"Mum?.. I have a question.." I say to my mother.

"What is it?" She asks.

"When my training is over, will I ever be able to return to Magnolia?" I asked, finally looking up from my cup.

"That's a good question... I guess it wouldn't be a problem. But you wouldn't be able to stay for very long. But thats only because you have to be able to rule these two realms." My mother answers, putting her hand on top of mine.

"But if you and grandpa are still alive by the time I've finished my training wouldn't that mean that I wouldn't have to rule yet, at least not until your both.... gone...?" I ask.

"Not exactly, you will still need to be crowned Queen of the Celestial Kingdom and the Dragon Realm. It's just how it works." My mother said.

"Okay, I understand." I reply.

"Look we can figure this all out when you get back from your training. In the mean time why don't we enjoy the time we have together before you leave. How about we go for a walk in the castles gardens. I'm sure you haven't been in through them yet." My mother says, giving me a reassuring smile.

"Sure thing mum. Just give me one second, I need to go and grab something from my room." I say, leaving the table and running up to my bedroom.

I race into my room and go into my wardrobe. I go to the far right conner where my old cloths hang. I pushed my shoes out off the way and grabbed a satchel. I picked It up and ran back downstairs to meet my mother in the Garden.

"Hah... made it..." I say, trying to catch my breath.

"Well wasn't that fast..." My mother said with a sweat drop. "Why were you in such a rush to get down here?"

"So I could spend as much time as possible with you mum." I said, smiling.

"Ha ha, very well then. Why don't we start our walk?" She asked.

"I'm happy to." I reply.

My mother and I talked for ages and ages. Our main topic was about her. I guess I could't stop asking questions. I learn't that the reason she faked her death was so she could protect me from all the wicked people that always came after her. It was basically the same reason the Dragons left the Dragon Slayer, but for them it was mainly because they didn't want Acnologia to find out about their children, and form them to be consumed by their Dragon Slayer magic.

After about an hour of walking, talking and enjoying the scenery we finally sat down at one of the benches along the footpath.

"Well, enough about me. Let's talk about you Lucy. What was it like for you after I left and what was it like to join an actual Wizard Guild?" My mother asked.

"Well actually mum, thats why I brought this satchel." I said lifting the satchel up and tacking it off my shoulder. "Here." I handed the satchel to my mum.

"Oh, it's heavier then I had expected... Whats in it?" She asked.

"About two weeks after you... well... left... I started to write you letters about my day. Like my own personal diary that I would only share with you. There all sorted into years and dates and they are all addressed to you, but a few of them are also addressed to dad. They start off really small but get larger and thicker over time. It was a way to put my thoughts down and to practice my writing skill's. The main reason I'm giving you the letters instead of telling you is because there is to much to say, and I know if I tried to tell you what's been going on in my life, it wouldn't sound as interesting or detailed then these letters." I say smiling at my mother.

"Oh Lucy... You are just full of wonderful surprises." She says, as she pulls me into a hug.

"I think I get that from you. But don't read them until I leave tomorrow morning okay. It's so you have something to do whilst I'm not here. Just pick one up and read it whenever you miss me." I reply.

"I will probably finish them in the first couple of days that you are gone then." My mother says, pulling away from the hug.

"Well then try and hold back a little." I say.

"I'll try my best." She said.

~Time Skip the Next Morning~

I was woken up to the sound off someone knocking on my door. I lazily rubbed my eyes, as I sat up in my bed.

"Come in." I called out through a yawn.

"Morning Lucy, I've come to wake you up." Stella said, walking into my room.

"Oh, good morning Stella. What time is it?" I asked.

"It's quarter past six in the morning." She answered.

"Wow, it's early." I said.

"Indeed." Stella replied, blankly.

"So what's on the agenda this morning?" I asked, as I got out of bed.

"Well firstly go do your morning routines and choose something comfortable to wear today, and make sure to grab a jacket, it's a bit chilly today. Then meet down in the dining room by seven for breakfast and your mother, Igneel and myself will go through your training schedule for the next three years." Stella said as she turned and headed for the door.

"Okay I'll see you in about forty-five minutes then stella." I said making my way to the bathroom for a shower.

"See you soon." Stella replied as she exited my bedroom.

I had a twenty-five munite shower and spend about five minutes drying and then putting my hair into a huh pony tail. After that I made my way to my wardrobe. I looked through all my old cloths for something comfortable to wear, because I'm pretty sure a cocktail dress or ball gown isn't comfortable. I settled for a red t-shirt and a black skirt, I slipped on leather tied up boots and grabbed my army green hoody with fur around the hood to keep me warm. That took about ten minutes. So I walked down to the dinning room to have breakfast with everyone.

"Morning all." I said cheerfully, as I entered the room.

"Good morning Lucy. Excited to start your training?" Igneel asked me, with a mouth full of food.

"Yep, also nervous though." I said, rubbing the back of my head.

"So was I when I began." My mother said.

I smiled and sat down next to my mum. I scoffed down the food that was in front off me, I heard my mum giggle at the pass I was eating.

"Ah, that was a good meal." I said, as I rubbed my stomach.

"So it seamed to be." Stella said.

"So, let's get to work shall we. Ready to hear your training schedule for the next three years?" My mother asked.

"Born ready." I replied.

Stella pulled out a single piece of paper from underneath the clip on her clip board and handed it to me.

"This is the schedule you will be following for the next couple of years." She announced.

"This is it?" I asked.

"Yep." Stella replied.

"But it's just got names... No dates, no times, no expectations... It's not a great schedule..." I said reading over the piece of paper.

"That's the thing Lucy. The timeframe in which you would be training with each individual is uncertain. You can only leave one coach to go to another when you have practically mastered everything they have taught you." My mother said.

"But then why tell me I've only got three and a half years to master everything? If you don't know how long it will take whats the point in assuming a timeframe?" I asked.

"It's the expected amount of time, although it took me five years and it might take you the same. Because unlike the previous rulers of the Dragon Realm we both have to practice Celestial magic, which basically adds a year and a bit onto the amount of time to complete everything." My mother answered.

"So if your powerful enough Lucy, you can easily finish everything in three and a half years." Igneel said.

"Okay. So what is this sheet then? The order I will be learning everything in?" I asked.

"Precisely." Stella said.

"Oh, would you look at the time! We have to get you going Lucy, you leave in five minutes." My mother announced.

"Oh my gosh really, I gotta pack my things still." I said quickly standing up.

"There's no need, Virgo has already done it for you." Stella told me.

"Oh, okay." I said.

"Come on, we better get you to the front door." Igneel said.

We made our way to the entrance of the castle. We stopped before the door and my mother held on to my shoulder. She smiled at me and then pulled me in for a hug.

"I love you so, so much Lucy. Have fun and I'm going to miss you." She said to me.

"I love you and I'll miss you too mum." I said, squeezing her tight.

We pulled away from the hug. I then gave Stella a quick hug and then I hugged Igneel goodbye.

"Goodbye Igneel." I said pulling away.

"No Lucy. This isn't goodbye, it's only see you later." he said

"Hah, well then, I guess I'll see you later." I replied

He stood and waved his hand behind him, to create the portal to the Celestial Kingdom. I walked up to it, turned around one last time with a smile. Then I waved as I entered the portal.

Now is the real beginning to my adventure...
