At The Coffee Shop

  (POV: Johnny Toast)

I took Johnny to the coffee shop I saw in the lobby as I tried to find the waiting room Johnny and _____ was in. It was small and not exactly Starbucks, but it would do. I figured being away from the room with a hot drink would help Johnny feel better.
"Hello, may I take your order?" the overly cheery barista asked.
"Jus - just give me a small coffee." Johnny said as in between sharp breaths.
"Green tea in a small cup, please." I answered.
I helped Johnny over to a table that way near by and let him hug me. It felt good to feel his warmth, but I knew I couldn't ever have it as my own. The warmth belonged to _____, and I was simply a substitute to help Johnny cope.
I went to get our drinks and then I sat down on the opposite of the table than Johnny. I handed him his coffee and took a drink of my tea. She didn't know how to make proper tea; it was too strong. I set it aside and just watched Johnny for a while.
"J - johnny. Thanks" Johnny had his head down. He was breathing better, now. It was less random and it was softer.
  "For what, sir?" I asked.
"For, for everything, Johnny. I've been negligent to our work over the last few months, I totally ruined your time at that party when I got drunk, and now I'm getting my gross tears all over your clothes and getting pretty touchy with you. A man couldn't ask for a better friend." he looked up and smiled, tears still running down his pretty face. I felt my cheeks go red.
"Oh, no, sir. It's nothing. I rather like hugs." I tried to brighten his mood with a warm smile.
"Come on, Johnny. You don't have to be so nice." he said.
"No, I assure you, sir, I don't think it's that big of a deal for you to cry on me or anything." I took a longer sip of my too - strong tea.
"It's just, you're such a important looking British man and I'm a random American who looks rather trashy right now. It's a bit out of place, and I'm pretty sure that barista thinks we're gay." he nodded his head towards the barista, who dropped then picked up her mop as she scrambled to the back room.
I didn't say anything for a while. I just drank my (now cold) tea and watching Johnny stirred around in his coffee out of boredom. We sat like that for a while before we finally agreed to go back to _____'s room.
