That's Why I Love You

  (POV: Johnny Ghost)

Lunch with Johnny and _____ was great, although I felt bad for letting Johnny pay. I mean sure, he certainly has the money, it's just that it has always felt wrong to me to take and not return. Eh, whatever. I'm over it now as I watch tv on the couch in the comfort of my / really only _____'s home.
There isn't anything on, really, but that's ok. All I need is _____, who is laying up against me. She's so warm and... I don't know. I just enjoy her company at all times. It's really hard to explain. I can't help but wonder what she feels when she's around me. Should I ask her?
I decide yes. "_____? Can I... ask you something?"
"Hmm? Yeah, shoot." She answered, barely looking up from the television.
"I was just wondering... uh..", I didn't know exactly how to put my thoughts into words.
"Just get on with it already!" Jimmy piped up.
"How do you feel when you're around me?" I asked. Even though I wasn't necessarily embarrassed by my question, I felt my face heat up, telling me it was likely a little red.
"Well... I feel safe.", _____ began, "And I feel happy."
"Is that it?" I asked nervously.
"Uh, I guess.", _____ looked at me, "Why are you asking?"
"I was just wondering!" I quickly replied.
There was some silence for a moment before _____ spoke up again. "How do you feel around me?
I felt nervous about answering her question. I didn't know really what to say, I mean, I barely knew myself. What if I said the wrong thing? I decided just to open my mouth and say whatever came out. "Well... I, um, I feel happy, and I feel, warm? I feel strong I guess, I dunno..." If I wasn't blushing before, then I certainly was now.
"Awww. You don't know what to say, do you?" _____ asked sweetly.
"No... well, uh, yeah, it's just... I dunno..." I pulled my hood over my head and looked the opposite direction.
"Don't be nervous, Ghost Boy, I'll still love you." She squeezed me hard in what I at least thought was a hug. It felt nice to know that at least someone cared for me.
I mumbled to myself. "I don't know why though..."
_____ stopped hugging me and sat up straight. "Are you really going to play that game with me?" She said sternly. I sat up straight, too. Man, she could be scary when she was angry, "There are so many reasons why I love you! Do you need me to list them for you?"
I didn't say anything. I just awkwardly looked off to the side of her face and avoided her eyes.
"Well then, let me start.", She cracked her knuckles loudly, "We'll first of all, you're cute."
"I'm only cute?" I said monotone like.
_____ smiled. "Ok, you're hot, then. Better? And not only that, but you're nice. You can be a bit irritable, but otherwise, you're very sweet."
"Yeah, yeah..." I blew her complaints off. Secretly, however, I was enjoying the praise.
"Ooh, and you've got a cool job and a cool British friend!" She pointed out.
"So what? Just go be with Johnny Toast, then." I replied. She didn't like that.
"Well, if you don't think I should love you, can't I at least love Jimmy?"
"Oh, it's my turn!" Jimmy exclaimed excitedly.
"Jimmy's cute, and he's sweet (even for a murderer). Jimmy loves me, doesn't he?" _____ said.
Jimmy was so thrilled to finally actually be a part of something that he forcibly took control. "I do love you, _____!"
"I know you do." She hugged Jimmy.
I sighed impatiently. "Can I please take my spot as head back, please?"
  "Yeah, whatever..." Jimmy scoffed.
"See, Johnny," _____ said as soon as she saw my eyes turn from red to brown, "there are so many reasons I love you, and more!"
"I guess you're right...", I did a fake sigh, "But you'll never love me as much as I love you!"
_____ punched me in the arm. "Shut up and kiss me already!" I was more than happy to comply with that notion.
