Chapter 13

It had been at least three months since she had been captured, though it was a bit hard to tell without sight, and it wasn't like she could ask anyone either. All she knew for certain was she was locked in a dark cell alone, they had taken Lucifi... and he had never come back. Skurn tried to shift positions on the uncomfortable floor and felt her badly healed wounds tear in protest, fresh blood once more spilling onto the floor where it would gather and dry with the rest. She had given up on Kylo coming to get her, he would've by now right? Unless he didn't know where she was... or he had died in the attack that must have occurred.

The cell door sliding open didn't make her flinch like it used to. She simply stayed limp, her eyes staring off at the opposite wall, no matter what they did; she wouldn't give away any secrets. Footsteps approached her before coming to a stop at her side, Skurn braced herself for pain, faintly surprised when it never came and instead felt the rebel loosening the tension in her chains, which allowed her stiff muscles to relax as she could finally lower her arms.

"At least you gave me treatment after torture sessions." Alder's voice made her stop breathing for a moment, he of all people would want to hurt her, well him and his friends. "I'll take you to a medic."

Chains clattered to the floor and she jerked away from him, not caring how much worse she made her injuries. There had to be a catch to this and she wasn't going to take the bait. However, without her sight, it wasn't too hard for him to catch her and Skurn struggled in his grip as he dragged her to her feet and led her out of the cell. She couldn't tell where they were heading, much to focused on staying on her feet, but she did manage to count the turns and remember the directions she'd turned.

"I don't know all of her injuries, just try to patch her up a bit." Alder seemed to be speaking with a medic. "Oh and make sure this visit stays off the records."

She glanced in the direction of his voice, was he on her side? Or was this still a trick? Blinding light made her close her eyes as they took off her blindfold, though they left the muzzle on. She blinked a few times until she was able to see Alder dressed in traditional Jedi clothing, though a bit darker than normal, as he observed her carefully. Beside her, a robot went to work on her wounds, starting with one on her face.

"Can you see me?" He questioned.

She wished she could scowl at him; it wasn't like she could answer with that thing on. As if realizing that he came closer and started taking it off, pausing to glare at her. "If you try to use Force influence on me I will put it back on."

"Whatever." She muttered, her voice ragged.

"Can you see me?" He repeated.

"Of course I can!" She glared back at him.

Alder calmly walked in a circle around her. "Good. I thought that lightning damaged your vision... obviously it wasn't as bad as I thought."

"Her wounds are infected." The robot spoke up indifferently.

"Clean them then." Alder growled. "What about her arm?"

Skurn winced as the droid started prodding her badly broken arm and pulled away from it as best she could with the shackles still on her wrists. The droid forced her back into place. "Hold her."

She gave Alder a death glare as he pinned her. But the worst part was the fresh pain along with the breaking bone... a scream escaped her and she fought harder against Alder's grip, which only tightened as the bones were shoved into the proper place to heal correctly. Shaking with pain, she stopped fighting and stayed as still as she could as the droid finished with the rest of her wounds.

"It would be best to replace the arm." The droid spoke once finished.

Alder hesitated and looked at the clock. "How long would it take?"

"Not long."

Her eyes widened slightly as she realized what they wanted to do. "You're not taking off my arm, it's fine!"

"It's infected, the bone was through your skin." The droid responded smoothly. "The process will be much faster than healing you."

"No." She stared at Alder and raised her good arm as far as she could; he reached for his throat. "I'm not losing an arm. It'll be fine."

Alder made a choking noise before pressing something on his wrist, sharp pain flooded into her body like pin prickles starting into her wrists before spreading and worsening throughout her body. She gave a growl of pain and reluctantly released him before the pain could get any worse. He released his throat and the button before walking over to her.

"I can't afford you to have a fake arm anyway with my plans for you." Alder rasped before turning to the droid. "Can you do a more modern technique? There's only one bone that's concerning, why take the whole arm off?"

"General Organa will notice if that treatment is selected."

"If she does it will be my problem." Alder promised, increasing Skurn's confusion and suspicion of his intentions.

The droid left and came back with a metal replica of her radius, which she reluctantly decide to accept considering it was better than the original option they wanted to go with. "Just get it over with."

The blindfold and muzzle were placed back on as they left. Her arm was sore but a lot less painful than it was to begin with, the part with the metal bone was numb and possibly wouldn't get feeling back until the other bone was healed, if it came back at all. Skurn wanted to question Alder on his intentions as they walked in silence and he seemed to sense that because he started speaking again.

"I remember everything that happened when I was at the base. You trained me even after you found out who I really was, don't think I won't kill you, but I am aware I owe you for letting me live." His voice was to her right as they walked. "I want you to keep training me."

She turned her head to him in surprise, he wanted her to what, train him? His brain must've been addled. That or he was stupid; she couldn't train him without a weapon or using the Force. Cold hit her as they entered her cell again and Skurn tensed as he guided her over to the wall, before he could chain her up again however, she kicked him in the stomach and used his disorientation to shove him into the wall. He struggled against her as she managed to find and steal his lightsaber before breaking her cuffs with it, searing her now gloved wrist slightly, before pointing the blade at Alder. She could kill him right now, sure her death would follow soon after, but at least she could take him down with her.

"Don't." Alder spoke calmly.

A new voice came from behind them. She faintly connected it to the pilot's. "She was about to kill you."

"I have it handled."

A blaster was pressed to her skull and she whirled around and slashed the weapon before using the Force to shove him into the wall. Exhaustion seeped through her as the adrenaline faded, she had to kill them though, before more came. Alder leapt onto her back before she could move again and his weight brought her to the ground, the lightsaber burning her torso for a moment before she managed to deactivate it. Fresh pain swept through her as she was dragged back to the wall and restrained once more, this time it was tighter and quickly made her arms lose feeling.

"Don't let her out again." Poe spoke up from near the door. "She's a cute little devil but I don't want to end up dead."

Oh she would hurt him for that comment when she escaped again.

Alder was still beside her when he left, letting up on her restraints just a bit. "You shouldn't have done that. I'm trying to trust you and I can't do that with you attacking us... Zein, that's what you're called now right? Well, I need you to help me get stronger again. In return I'll free you. Just... Just, no more attacking anyone. I'll kill you myself next time."

That was a funny threat. She gave a muffled laugh as she heard him leave... as if he could kill her.
