Early in the morning,Bongbong called Leni for an important news. "Hello? Mahal? Are you busy?"

"Hindi naman Mahal, what was it?" She answered.

"I would like to invite you sana this coming Monday,birthday ni Dad... President Duterte declared holiday in Ilocos... Are you free that day,Mahal?" He spilled making Leni speechless. "Mahal? Are you still there?" He uttered.

"Ha? Ahh. Yes,Mahal nandito pa ako... Ahmm... ano kase Mahal... I was scheduled kase to go home in Naga this Friday... Diba I told you about it? Fiesta kase,saka you know naman na deboto ako ni Virgen Peñafrancia diba?" She explained carefully.

"Oh! I see! Ahh... Sige Mahal,sabihan ko nalang sina Mom that you're busy. Bye! I love you ❤️ " He replied then hung up.

Leni sighed after the call,she was guilty. She knew that he was noticing her reluctancy to meet his family. They've been together for 7 months and he was dying to introduce her to his family personally but she intended to decline,not because she didn't like them or she was afraid but because she is tremulous. She has this thought that she's not welcome to his family knowing that she's been their No. 1 critic before. She didn't have the courage to face them as she always criticized them and she chose not to tell Bongbong about this feeling.

"Hi! Ma!" Bongbong greeted his mom as he came home in Ilocos. He was greeted by his nieces and nephews as well as his sister Imee.

"Hi! Bongets! I miss you! How are you?" Imelda excitedly greeted him back. "Wait! Where's Leni? Diba I told you to invite her..." She's confused as she noticed that Leni is not with him.

Bongbong scratch his forehead. "Ahh.. Wala Ma eh... She's in Naga kahapon pa,Peñafrancia Festival... you know deboto sya ever since..."

Imelda nodded,she was a bit disappointed that she can't meet Leni,AGAIN! But she doesn't have a choice. She didn't utter any word until Imee spoke. "Hmmm... baka naman she doesn't want to meet us?"

"Ha? It's not like that Ate... Nagkataon lang talaga..." He defended.

"Napapansin ko kasi Bong, parang iwas siya saamin eh. You know naman na we like her for you..." Imee continued.

"Yeah. I understand kaya lang coincidence lang talaga okay? I promised you'll meet her personally." He stated.

Imee nodded. Imelda knew what Imee felt as she was feeling it too,it's like Leni intended not to meet them personally but she doesn't know why. "You know what Bong, Imee is right!" Imelda uttered making him confused. "I can sense na she did it on purpose, I mean coincidence lang ba lahat ng pagkakataon na she can't attend our family gatherings? I know that she has reasons behind these and kahit ano pa yun, I want you to tell her that she's always welcome to our family. I like her for you, we like her for you actually because she seemed to be a good influence to you and we know that you're happy with her..." Imelda stated,Imee nodded in approval.

Bongbong smiled at his sister then to his mom. He can say that they are sincere with what they've said and he appreciate their effort just to make Leni feel welcome. He hugged his mom, " Thank you,Ma!"

September 10,2017 ( 10:24 am)

Everyone was busy preparing for the celebration tomorrow. Bongbong used his time talking with his friends in Ilocos - Catch-up! Catch-up! His phone rings and it was Leni,he excused himself. "Hello,mahal?"

"Hi! Mahal! How are you? I miss you!" She uttered.

"I'm okay,Mahal! I missed you too... I wish you were here..." He sounded a bit sad.

She sighed. "I'm sorry,Mahal..."

He sighed as he earned courage to ask her what's been bugging his mind since last night. "Mahal? Can you be honest with me?... Ayaw mo bang mameet sina Mama personally?"

"Ha?" She was shocked,she didn't expect his question. "I mean... It's not like that,Mahal... Ano lang kase..." She sighed. "Nahihiya kase ako..." she confided.

"Nahihiya?" He's confused with her confession. "Bakit naman Mahal? You're always welcome in my family,our family!"

"I know" she sighed as she didn't know how to put her thoughts in words. "Ano lang,Mahal... Ahh.. You know naman na I'm your family's No. 1 critic before diba? And you also knew na inaway away kita,yung mama mo,yung ate mo and yung dad mo before... I feel guilty about it kase..."

"Mahal..." He sighed as he carefully choose words that will comfort her. "That was long time ago... Sabi mo nga diba,'before'... Wala na yun,we've already moved on... besides my mom and the whole family wants to meet you... Mom said that I should tell you na you're very much welcome sa family... She likes you,Mahal..."

She was silence as she take in his words. Maybe he's right,everyone has moved on so she must do it too. "Thank you,Mahal... Thank you for everything,I love you..." She uttered.

September 11,2017 (5:00 am)

Bongbong intended to wake up early as he wanted to talk to Leni before he start his long day. He dialed her 5 times already but she didn't pick up so he decided to leave her a message thinking she's still asleep.

It's already 8:30 am,the Marcoses together with the people of Ilocos are all gathered at the church as the mass were about to start. Bongbong keeps on checking his phone waiting for Leni's message or call but she didn't leave any,he started to worry as he knew that she's already awake. He decided to call her...

Ringing ...

"Leni,pick up the phone..." he whispered as anxiety swarming his chest.

"Bong..." Imee suddenly poked him,he turned to her raising his eyebrows still phone on his ears. Imee didn't utter any word and just pointed at the entrance of the church with her lips. He frowned at her and curiously turned around to see what she's trying to say and...

It's Leni...

His frowning face turned into smiling one as he watched her ingresses the church with her charming smile that makes his world stop,she's greeting everyone excitedly. He suddenly got back to reality and entertain her.

She smiled and waved her hand as she saw him approaching, "Hi! Mahal!" She kissed his cheeks. He smiled. "Surprise!" She followed.

He chuckled. "Ikaw ha! Marunong kana!" He pinched her nose,she giggled. He held her waist as he guided her to their seat.

"Ma" Bongbong uttered when they reached their seat,Imelda turned to him and was surprised. "Si Leni,girlfriend ko..." He introduced.

Leni smiled and bowed her head as respect. "Hello po,Madam! Nice to meet you po!" She offered her hand for shake hands.

Imelda smiled widely,she didn't take Leni's hand,instead she hugged her and kissed her cheek-to-cheek. "Hi! Leni! Finally we've introduced! Bongbong is right,you're so beautiful iha!" Imelda exclaimed.

Leni blushed with Imelda's reaction,she didn't expect that she's very warm. "Ay thank you po,Madam! Nice to meet you din po!" She replied shyly.

"Iha,don't call me Madam... Ano kaba! Call me Tita instead..." Imelda corrected her. "Oh! Call me Mommy instead... It sounds better!" She continued.

Leni smiled widely,she was so touched by Imelda's gesture. Bongbong smile as he watched how his mom made his girlfriend blushed,it amuses him. He then introduced her to Imee and the other family members,they love Leni so much and vice versa.

The celebration went well,they're all so happy and satisfied with what happened. Bongbong and Leni were already settled on bed,"Thank you,Mahal!" He uttered randomly.

She smiled. "No. Thank you!"

He smiled and kissed her lips. "I love you,Mahal..."

"I love you too,Mahal!" She uttered and kissed him back.
