It's already 9:30pm but Leni was still sitting on their bed watching the live simulcast of the Senate Hearing. It bothered her to witness how the Senators are engaged into heated argument because some Senators allegedly declined to sign the bill that aims to protect and stop the killings especially to teenagers. She searched for her husband and saw the tension in his eyes. She continued to watch and didn't noticed the time,soon she felt the drowsiness that she unconsciously fell asleep 😴

It's already 11:00pm when Bongbong arrived at home only to saw his wife fell asleep while waiting for him to come home. He turned off the television and slowly positioned her to the other side of the bed, "Goodnight." He whispered and kissed her forehead but she felt the movements so she was suddenly awaken,surprised to see him. "Mahal? I'm sorry,kanina kapa?" She abruptly sat down.

"No mahal,kararating lang." He answered.

"Sorry! Nakatulog ako! Kumain kana ba?" She asked. He shake his head. "Ha? Naku! Teka,prepare ko lang yung table ha? Sorry! Magbihis kana muna mahal." She started to panicked as she knew he was already tired and hungry as well and she was unable to prepare his food as she fell asleep earlier. She stood up and ready to open the door but she remembered something, "Ay! Hindi pa pala ako kumukuha ng damit mo Mahal! Wait lang ha? Sorry talaga! Upo ka muna dyan,kuha lang ako ng pampalit." She retorted and immediately entered the walk in closet to get his clothes.

"Mahal,bihis kana muna." She said when she got back from the walk in closet and handed him the his clothes. When she was about to leave,he suddenly held her hand. "Mahal..." He uttered.

She turned to him,"Yes,mahal? You need anything?" She asked remembering if she forgot to do something.

He shake his head and hugged her tight. "Thank you!"

She smiled and hugged him back. "Anything for you! Sige na,prepare ko na yung dinner mo..." She carefully withdrew from the hug but before she turned away from him,he held her hand again, "Tulog kana ulit,Mahal!" He uttered.

She frowned. "Ha? Pero hindi kapa kumakain."

He cupped her face. "Don't worry about it,okay? Kaya ko na. You don't have to do this... Get some rest, I know you're tired..."

She smiled and cupped his face too, "Mahal,alam kong pagod ka din kaya ako na... Asawa mo ko at obligasyon ko to."

He smiled and nodded. She then proceeded to the kitchen to prepare for his late night dinner. When he was finished changing his clothes,he followed her to the kitchen.

"Mahal!" He approached her and hugged her from behind while she was busy reheating the food 🥘.

"Hmm?" She smiled and waited for him to talk.

"You didn't kiss me yet!" He smirked and placed his chin on her shoulders. She laughed and gave him a quick kiss. "Kain kana!" She uttered. He smiled and started to savor the food.

"Ang mga bata?" He asked while eating.

"Tulog na,Mahal..." She answered as she was sitting on another chair accompanying him.

"I'm sorry,Mahal... I didn't join you for dinner kanina..." He uttered and held her hand which was placed in top of the table.

She smiled and held back his hand. "It's okay,Mahal... We understand"

He smiled and continued to eat. When he was about to finish eating,she suddenly remembered something. "Ay,Mahal! Bukas nga pala yung event ni Jill. Remember?"

He looked at her trying to recall his daughter's event. "Ah! Yeah! Swimming competition! Oo mahal naalala ko!"

"Are you free tomorrow?" She asked knowing that tomorrow will be a hectic schedule for him as they needed to resume the Senate Hearing.

He looked at her again,he knew that it was quite impossible for him to attend his daughter's event but he also knew that Jillian would expect him to be there. He sighed. "Gawan ko nang paraan,Mahal."

"Mahal,it's okay! Jill will understand naman if you can't come." She stated.

He held her hand again and smiled, "Gawan ko nang paraan,Mahal."

It was already 10:00am but Bongbong doesn't even texting Leni if he's coming or not. Jillian was constantly asking her mom about her dad but Leni would tell her, "Wala pang reply anak,eh!". Leni knew her daughter was a bit disappointed 😔,she was expecting her dad to be there since it's her first time to swim 200 fly.

"Ma,si papa po?" Tricia asked her mom as they were now settled on their seats.

"Hindi ko nga alam anak eh! Sabi nya gawan nya daw ng paraan,may Senate Hearing kasi ngayon." Leni explained and once again checked her phone if he leave any message.

10 minutes before the competition begin,Leni was already holding her phone tightly due to excitement and anxiety as her husband was nowhere to be found. Jillian looked at them from the starting point and mouthed, "papa?" And Leni only shake her head telling her that Bongbong wasn't around yet. Jillian sigh 😔.

5 minutes before the competition begin, Tricia was curious of the commotion outside that she looked at it hoping to figure out what's happening until her eyes light up 😃

"Ma! Si Papa!" She exclaimed taking Leni's attention.

Leni's head automatically turned to looked for him,she saw her husband making his way to the entrance with his guards but she frowned as she saw him being surrounded by some women,she frowned even more when she saw him letting these women kiss his cheeks and have a picture with him.

"Pa!" Tricia excitedly greeted her dad and hugged him. He do the same also but Leni remained on her seat as if she doesn't saw him.

"Mahal" He uttered softly as he took a seat beside her. She looked at him coldly, that's when he knew that she's mad. "I'm sorry 😐 " He said but she just looked away.

He sighed and held her right hand which she didn't reciprocated. He squeezed it lightly,"I'm sorry 😐 "

She looked at him, "Usap tayo mamaya." She stated coldly,he nodded.

She withdrew her hand,stood up and cheered with Tricia,"Go! Jill!"

Jillian was so happy that her dad was able to make it before the competition begin,it gave her more energy and motivation to win the race 🏁.

"Congratulations! Jill! So proud of you anak!" Bongbong cheered as his daughter got the 2nd place. "At dahil dyan, kakain tayo sa labas!" He followed bringing the hype to his kids.

On the way to their favorite restaurant, Bongbong holds Leni's hand as he stopped in front of the red light,she didn't reciprocated his move but she just let him hold her hand. She just looked outside the window. Tricia and Jillian looked at each other - they knew what this means.

"Ma,may sasabhin daw po sainyo si Papa!" Jillian started as they were already settled on their table.

"Ha?" Bongbong frowned as he didn't know what his daughter was talking about. Jillian and Tricia talked to their dad telepathically telling him to start a conversation with their mom. Bongbong got it immediately.

He cleared his throat. "Ah. Mahal? Ano kasi... ah.."

Leni just looked at him.

"I'm sorry 😐 " He finally uttered.

Tricia and Jillian was already holding their breaths as they silently waiting for their mom's reply.

After a while, Leni smiled and nodded at him.

They were all breathed heavily in relief.

"Oh! Okay na tayo ha? Celebrate na!" Jillian announced. They all laughed.

Bongbong leaned closer and gave his wife a sweet kiss. "You didn't kiss me yet!" He uttered after the kiss,Leni smiled.

They continued to savor the food and enjoyed the talks. Moments like this are being treasured by Bongbong and Leni,it's their escape from 'magulong polotika' .
