Comeback, be here (2)

It's campaign season once again. Bongbong was expected to re-elect as the province's Governor. Although it was a sure win for Bongbong's camp as their province was a long time considered as a Marcos counrty, he still wanted to exert all his efforts to campaign and tell his constituents all his projects, on-going projects, and all other future plans for the betterment of the province.

Peñafrancia, being a Marcos and the only daughter of Bongbong already gained a lot of media and netizens' attention because of her obvious charm and wit. She has a lot of followers in all of social media platforms creating a lot of fan clubs. She's also expected by many to run for public office in the future to continue their family's way of governance. She also plays a big role in all her Papa's election campaigns since she was a child.

"How are you?" Leni asked Bongbong through phone call one night.

"Pagod, as usual. Magsstart na ang campaign so I expect na mas nakakapagod sya." Bongbong told her.

"Mas magiging busy ka nyan for sure." She said.

"Yeah. But I'll always make time, Leni. Alam mo naman yan." He assured her.

"I know. Well, Pen will join you naman during the campaign so mas makakapag-bonding kayong dalawa. As for me, alam mo naman wala akong hilig sa mga ganyan-ganyan." She chuckled.

He chuckled, he knews how she hates the spotlight. "Baka lang magbago isip mo, you can also join me and Pen sa kampanya.

I can watch meeting de avance and other sorties siguro para mavisit ko din sina Aimee."

"Okay then. Pasundo ko kayo dyan ni Penny."

Call ended.

It's been a week since the official campaign started in the local elections. Pen has been juggling her schedules between clerkship and campaign although her dad told her not to bother with the campaign, Pen insisted to come to his sorties especially those municipalities where her dad's numbers were a bit low.

"Pa, wala pa din ba si mama?" Pen asked before the sortie started. Leni promised them that she will be present during that particular sortie.

Bongbong checked his phone, "Wala pa din anak eh. Basta kanina sabi nya papunta na daw sya."

Pen sighed and checked her phone quickly if her mom left a message but there was none. The sortie finally started with the pre-program which includes the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and some messages from other local officials.

While the emcees are making their spiels, a black grandia van came revealing Aimee, Irene, and Leni. "But before anything else, may we acknowledge the presence of our Governor's sisters — Ma'am Irene and Ma'am Aimee, and of course ang nagpatibok sa puso ng ating ginagalangang Gobernador," the crowd almost went wild with the introduction, "Judge Leni Gerona-Marcos! Palakpakan po natin sila." The crowd cheered after seeing them altogether made their way to the seat in front. Some officials teased Leni being present on the occasion, she just laughed it off. The emcee continued.

After a while, the emcees finally introduced Pen to the stage. "Magandang gabi sainyong lahat!" She uttered as she took the center stage. The crown was just capturing her every move. They knew she's gonna sing the campaign song of her dad. And she did. The crowd was in awe. The people of Ilocos Norte probably saw Pen grew up and take part in her dad's campaign election ever since she was a child. It's some sort of tradition for Pen to sing a particular song composed for her dad every election season, then introduce her dad.

Pen shared after the song. The crowd cheered. Pen continued making everybody laugh. "Pero ngayon po, gusto ko lang i-take itong opportunity na ito to call my mom here on stage para tulungan akong ipakilala sainyo ang papa ko."

Leni went to the stage making the crowd cheered even more, it's her first time to do such act. "Magandang gabi po sainyong lahat!" She greeted. The people was so excited to see her after so many years. She smiled genuinely. People teased her, she laughed along with Pen. People continued to cheered, some shouted SANA ALL.

People were just listening intently to her.

She chuckled. "Totoo po yun. When we were still together, gusto nya palagi kaming nag uusap talaga, gusto nya palagi kaming magkasama or magkatabi. We do all things almost together, so imagine kung gaano ka-hassle yun at some point" she joked. "He's also very responsible and sensitive sya sa mga bagay-bagay. Naalala ko hindi ko na kailangan sabihan sa kanya yung mga needs ko or ni Pen because binibigay or ginagawa nya na despite his busy schedule. He also makes time for me and Pen all the time. Although we got separated many years ago, we still communicate almost all the time lalo na kapag tungkol sa anak namin. He told me na kailangan namin ayusin yung relasyon naming dalawa not just for us but for our daughter."

Pen looked at her mom and smiled. She just adores her.

Leni said with conviction.

"Governor Ferdinand Romualdez-Marcos Jr.!" Leni and Pen introduced, everybody stood up and cheered for his arrival.

The LED wall opened up revealing Bongbong wearing his campaign polo shirt. He went straight to the center of the stage reunited with his mag-ina.

"You're here!" He smiled as he hugged Leni tight.

"I told you pupunta ako." She whispered.

They had a picture taking first before Leni and Pen returned to their seats with Irene and Aimee while Bongbong started his speech. He joked.

He started. "But before anything else, I would like to acknowledge all the barangay and sangguniang bayan officials who are here today. Sa dalawa kong kapatid, Irene and Aimee, thank you for being here. Sa aking anak na si Penny for that lovely song, walang kupas talaga." Pen sent a heart sign to him. "And to my lovely wife, Leni." People screamed in kilig while Leni was blushing so hard, covering her mouth with her handkerchief. "Thank you for being here with me today. Hindi mo alam kung gaano mo ako napasaya ngayon, and thank you for your words kanina. I was listening back stage earlier mukhang maiiyak pa ako kanina while listening to you. People continued to tease them.

He asked, people gamely responded a resounding bakit.

"Bolero!" Leni chuckled from the back. They laughed.

"Grabe ka naman saakin." He defended. "Totoo naman lahat yun. It's been a honor to be the father of your child. He told her genuinely. They all laughed.

"But yeah, I will never get tired of saying thank you and giving you all the credits in raising our daughter.  I will be forever in your debt, Len. And whatever happens to us, I will always love you from afar. You'll always be Ilocos Norte's first lady."
