Chapter 61: What Will I Become?

While Anakin rested, Obi-Wan took over, flying the ship, with Areria sitting beside him. Ahsoka and I checked on Anakin, and he woke up startled. Looks like this place had an effect on all of us.

"Where you having a nightmare?" Ahsoka asked.

"Something like that." Anakin replied.

"If you're done napping, I could use a little help here." Obi-Wan advised.

"I'm coming." Anakin said.

I was about to join them, when something pulled me back. The daughter's brother, known as the son, grabbed me and Ahsoka. He held us with an iron grip. He let out a chuckle. "Leaving so soon? Not without this, you won't."

He then opened the hatch from beneath us, taking us both down with him. He then turned into the dark hideous gargoyle as he flew, holding onto us. I heard Anakin yell after us. "Ahsoka! Storm!"

Anakin tried to catch up to us, using the ship, but it was futile. He took off, taking us to a tower. Ahsoka and I were then separated in different cells. My arms were dangling above my head, trapped in chains.

"You can't keep me here forever! You hear me?!" I exclaimed.

"Storm?!"

My head shot up to see Koltav. My heart fluttered. I smiled. "Koltav! How did you get here?"

"Anakin and Obi-Wan told me you were in trouble, so I came as soon as I could." He explained. "I couldn't stand the thought of you in danger."

Koltav then took out my lightsaber before igniting it. He then cut the chains off, freeing me. Once Koltav gave me my lightsaber, I rushed into his arms, giving him a hug. I then felt something sharp prick my neck. I groaned as I stumbled back. "Ow! What have you done?"

"You are mine now." Koltav said. But his voice sounded different.

Koltav then turned into the son, shocking me. I narrowed my eyes. "You do not own me."

I could feel something coursing through my veins. I used all my strength fought back whatever the son put in me. I began to repeat what Dooku taught me. The Force is all around me, it flows in me, and it protects me.

The son narrowed his eyes. "I think you'll see otherwise."

He saw that I still hadn't changed to whatever he wanted, and it shocked him. His jaw dropped. "T-that's impossible."

"I am stronger than you think." I retorted.

A mysterious smile then appeared on his face. "Allow me to show you what your future can be if you don't join me. There are severe consequences."

I scoffed. "Like I'll believe anything you tell me."

"Not tell, but show." He corrected.

He then tapped my forehead. At once, I saw myself wearing black robes, yellow eyes, red skin with black markings, and horns. I was appalled upon seeing this version of myself, I looked like a Dathomirian Zabrak. I watched in horror as I stood alongside Anakin and Jinx, together we killed off Areria, Padmé, Koltav, Echo, Master Allie and several others we knew. Obi-Wan then appeared before me as he cried out. "You were my sister, Storm! I loved Anakin and you as my own siblings!"

The scenery changed to a different place. I couldn't make out where I was, but I saw a handsome man with fair skin, raven black hair, and blue eyes stand in front of me. The man wore elegant clothing I hadn't seen before. He extended out a hand towards me.

"Join me, Storm. I know your true beauty and potential that you have. You'll be a Queen at my side." He urged. "Do you know what they will do to you once they've seen your true self? Come with me. I don't wish to hurt you like they have."

I then saw myself slaughtering off thousands of humans and other species as I stood alongside a group of aliens I had never seen before. The image changed and we all knelt before a purple skinned alien, who sat on a throne. My knees trembled as I took in all that I had seen. What will I become? Tears filled my eyes as I looked up at the son.

"How can I stop this?" I inquired.

"Join me, Storm. And together we can stop these wretched and horrid things from happening." The son explained.

I then reluctantly grabbed his hand. At once, I collapsed onto the ground. Once I awoke, I glanced at a small puddle of water to see my reflection. My eyes were now yellow. I had done this so I could save the galaxy from what I would become.

After the son and I reunited with Ahsoka, who had also joined the son, Ahsoka and I waited outside in the courtyard of the son's tower. We sat down, waiting for Anakin. It wasn't long until Anakin approached us. We turned to see Anakin with a relieved look on his face. "Ahsoka, Storm, it's me. You're safe now. Let's go."

"Are you proud of me, Master?" Ahsoka asked.

Anakin furrowed his brows. "What? Uh, of course, Snips. Course I'm proud of you. Now, let's get out of here."

"The son's right, right about everything. You must join him." I urged.

"He only wants what's best for the universe." Ahsoka chimed in.

Anakin raised an eyebrow. "Hey, what's wrong with you?"

I rolled my eyes. "Always with the criticism, Anakin."

"Never really believing in me, trusting me. Well, I don't need you anymore." Ahsoka informed him.

"Nor do I!" I spat.

"Ahsoka, Storm, listen to me. He has done something to you both. Snap out of it. This isn't you." Anakin mentioned.

Ahsoka scoffed. "Isn't it? I feel more like myself than I ever have."

"He asked me to give you a message. He said if you don't join him, he will kill me and Ahsoka too." I informed him.

Anakin shook his head. "I won't let him."

"Then you will be forced to kill us." Ahsoka retorted.

With that, Ahsoka and I ignited our lightsabers. As we lunged towards him, he wore a pained look. He deflected our attacks but didn't attempt to attack us.

"I don't want to fight you." Anakin protested.

"And now we will kill the chosen one." Ahsoka said with a grin.

Anakin raised an eyebrow. "You're getting ahead of yourself, aren't you, Snips?"

"Don't call me that. I hate it when you call me that!" Ahsoka snapped.

Anakin then looked over at me. "And you, Stormy? You're better than this."

I furrowed my brows. "I hate that name! I always have! And I will do what I must to prevent what I will become."

"What you'll become?" Anakin repeated, looking baffled.

"I've seen the future. The son has warned me of what I will do. I must stop this from happening." I explained. "It's why I've joined him."

"Storm, this is madness though. Whatever he showed you is a lie. You can't trust trust him." Anakin argued.

I scoffed. "Is it? Is it truly madness? I'm simply doing whatever it takes to ensure my future is bright and happy, what I want it to be. I thought you would understand, but I guess I was wrong."

At that moment Obi-Wan and Areria appeared. I grinned. "Well, well, looks like we got more Jedi."

Ahsoka chuckled. "Finally, a challenge."

We then lunged towards them. Ahsoka fought Anakin and Obi-Wan with her two lightsabers, while I took on Areria. I swung my lightsaber, which clashed against Areria's lightsaber. I used all my strength, causing her to stumble back. She quickly regained her composure as I lunged towards her. Areria then used the Force, pushing me back onto the ground. I groaned as I slowly climbed up to my feet.

"Any suggestions?" Anakin inquired.

Obi-Wan nodded. "Yes. We cut them free."

Areria furrowed her brows as she looked over at Obi-Wan. "What is that?"

"It can kill the son." Obi-Wan clarified.

I followed Areria's gaze to see Obi-Wan pull out a sword, making me shiver. I hissed. "Where did you get that?!"

"Give it to us." Ahsoka ordered.

We then saw both the daughter and son being tossed out the window and towards us, breaking up our fight. The father then landed before us. We watched as the son used his powers against the father, knocking him down. "You mean nothing to me anymore."

"Anakin, now!" Obi-Wan advised.

As Obi-Wan tossed the sword, Ahsoka quickly grabbed it, and together we approached the son. The son grinned. "Everything has transpired exactly as I planned."

The father turned to the daughter, wearing a devastated look. "You showed them the altar?"

The daughter's face fell. "I am sorry, father. I didn't know how else to stop him."

"Give it to me, child." The son ordered.

Anakin shook his head. "Ahsoka, no."

Ahsoka then handed it to the son. The son's grin grew. "Thank you. Your usefulness has come to an end."

At that moment, he touched Ahsoka's forehead, making her collapse. He then touched my forehead, making me fall to the ground. I was surrounded by darkness.

•••

"Storm..."

I looked around to find myself in one of the forests of Corellia. I turned around to see my grandma Sincra. My eyes widened as soon as I saw her. Tears filled my eyes as I extended out a hand towards her. "Grandma..."

I then felt a bright and warm light surround me, pulling me back. I heard the daughter's voice. "Storm Ca'ana, it's not your time yet. Wake up.

My eyes fluttered open. I then began coughing, gasping out for air until I felt I could breathe again. Anakin immediately gave me a hug. "Hey Storm."

Once he pulled away, Areria hugged me with a sigh of relief. "Master!"

I furrowed my brows as I glanced around to find Ahsoka sitting beside me, while Obi-Wan, Areria, and Anakin stood in front of us with relieved looks. Behind them, laid the daughter who was in the arms of her father. The father looked down at her devastated. What had happened to her? The last thing I remember is being trapped in the son's tower. How did I escape?

I groaned. "What's going on?"

"Yeah, what is happening?" Ahsoka asked.

"Uh, not much. It's good to see you, the both of you." Anakin mentioned.

As Anakin helped Ahsoka up to her feet, Obi-Wan helped me up. Areria handed me my lightsaber before giving Ahsoka her lightsabers.

"As the balance in this world crumbles, so shall war escalate in your galaxy. As my son has descended into the dark side, so have the Sith gained strength." The father informed us.

"We will stop your son." Anakin assured him.

"No. You must go now. He needs your ship to leave the planet. You must leave before he can take it." The father urged.

"What about you?" Obi-Wan asked.

"I shall mourn all that I have done. And all that is yet to be." The father stated.

With that we left, returning to our ship. Ahsoka and I began to fix on the ship that Anakin wrecked, which occurred on their way to rescue us. We had put on goggles while trying to see the damage. Once we emerged from the engines compartment, Anakin, Areria, and Obi-Wan turned towards us.

"Well, you want the bad news." Ahsoka commented.

"Or the really bad news?" I inquired.

"Well, let's try the bad news, laced with a little optimism." Obi-Wan advised.

I let out a sigh. "Well, let's see what we can do. We've got two cracked shilo pins, a busted power converter."

"The engines should be fired twice to dump debris, and the backup vents need charging." Ahsoka chimed in.

"Sounds terribly downbeat. Can it be fixed?" Obi-Wan asked.

At his words, we headed back into the engine compartment. My eyes scanned the entire area. I grimaced. "Well, we can reroute the primary initiator, weld the dampening vents."

"And that might give us enough power to leave the atmosphere. After that, I have no guarantees she'll hold together." Ahsoka added.

"We'll take our chances. Better than staying here." Obi-Wan mentioned.

With that we began to reroute the primary initiator and weld the dampening vents. However as we worked, we couldn't help but feel awfully tired. I can't remember how long it's been since we started working on the ship.

"Might I suggest less sleeping and a little more work?" Obi-Wan suggested.

At his words, we both woke up and quickly climbed to our feet. We climbed out to see Areria and Obi-Wan holding glasses filled with water. I wore a sheepish smile. "Sorry, Obi-Wan."

"Sorry, Master Kenobi." Ahsoka said.

"Here. This should help." Obi-Wan offered.

We then took the glasses from them. I didn't waste time, chugging the drink in a heartbeat. I then returned the glass back to her.

"We need to change plans." Areria mentioned.

"Indeed. You must both focus on the firing drives. Disengage them." Obi-Wan advised.

I furrowed my brows. "I don't understand..."

"But I'm almost finished putting this junk heap back together, and now-" Ahsoka began.

"Just do as I say. We don't have much time." Obi-Wan urged.

"Well, you're the boss." Ahsoka stated.

"Areria come with me." Obi-Wan urged.

Areria glanced over at me, and I nodded. Once they left, Ahsoka and I resumed our work, following Obi-Wan's new orders. I hope everything's all right. After a couple of hours, Ahsoka and I walked out of the ship to see find Areria and Obi-Wan with the father.

"Anakin has gone to confront your son, hasn't he?" Obi-Wan asked.

My face fell. Remembering my last encounter with the son sent chills up my spine. The fact I couldn't remember what happened made me anxious, but I tried to dismiss those thoughts. The important thing is I'm here with Ahsoka, Obi-Wan, and Areria. I'm alive and well, that's all that matters right now. The father motioned to the ground. "Deep within this planet all that is dark is channeled."

Obi-Wan hopped onto his speeder with Areria sitting in the back. The father immediately walked over towards him.

"And how do I get there?" Obi-Wan inquired.

The father immediately shook his head. "You cannot interfere."

"The way I see it, if we were not supposed to interfere, Ahsoka, Storm, Areria, and I wouldn't be here in the first place." Obi-Wan retorted. He turned towards Ahsoka and me. "Look after the ship. I'm going to find Anakin."

With that they took off, and so Ahsoka and I returned to the inside of the ship to look after it. Once they left, the father left us without saying a word. After they left, it wasn't long until we got the ship running, and the ship's controls finally began to work.

"Finally!" Ahsoka exclaimed before turning on the comms. "This is Jedi shuttle 634 calling on all secure channels for help. Do you read?"

"We are stranded and need immediate evac. Come in, please!" I urged.

However, all we heard was static, making me frustrated. Just then Obi-Wan's voice reached us through the comlink. "Ahsoka, Storm, come in, please. Can you hear me? Ahsoka! Storm!"

"Yes, Master." Ahsoka replied.

"We hear you loud and clear. Any success with Anakin?" I inquired.

"No, quite the opposite." Obi-Wan said, baffling us.

"Master, what are you saying?" Ahsoka asked.

"Anakin has joined with the son." Obi-Wan explained. "Do not engage him."

I was even more confused at his words. How and why did Anakin join the son? What could he have possibly done to Anakin. There's no way Anakin would willingly join the dark side.

"But-" I began.

Obi-Wan cut me off at once. "Just do as I say. Listen to me. You have to disable the ship."

"But we just finished putting it back together." Ahsoka mentioned.

"Ahsoka, Storm, please listen. We have to prevent Anakin and the son from leaving." Obi-Wan argued.

Ahsoka nodded. "Yes, Master."

"We will do our best." I added.

"And it'll be enough, just hurry. It won't be long until he reaches the ship." Obi-Wan insisted.

With that Ahsoka and I grabbed the ignition key, hiding as Anakin came aboard. Once he wasn't looking, we snuck out. Ahsoka quickly hopped onto his speeder. Ahsoka drove while I grabbed another spare speeder from the ship. Together we took off to find Obi-Wan and Areria. We found them climbing up a wall of rocks with lava down below. We hovered right beside them.

"Hmm, nice job." Ahsoka commented.

"What took you so long?" Obi-Wan asked.

"Well we were busy dissembling the ship." I retorted.

Once Obi-Wan boarded Ahsoka's speeder, she handed him the ignition. Areria then hopped onto the back of my speeder. Obi-Wan looked relieved upon seeing the ignition.

"The shuttle's going nowhere without that." I informed him.

"Good, that gives us some time to rescue Anakin." Obi-Wan mentioned.

We arrived at the arena of the monastery to see Anakin with the father. Ahsoka's eyes lit up. "Master!"

We then landed beside them. I was relieved to see him. I rushed over, giving him a hug. "Anakin!"

Anakin returned my hug at once. Once we pulled away from the hug, he spoke. "Glad to see Ahsoka and you are feeling much better."

"Are you all right?" Obi-Wan asked.

Anakin nodded. "Yeah I think so, but we must stop the son once and for all."

"We have little time, and you'll get only one chance. You know what you must do." The father explained.

"How quaint, my own personal send-off."

My stomach dropped as I turned around to see the son with a grin on his face. Oh kriff...
