9) Time Travelers

"Where are we?" I walked around the nice size living room. Kade was doing something in the kitchen, soon coming out with a colorful drink with a lemon squeeze on the sides. He smirked, offering me one. Taking it, he nodded and glanced out the glass wall to the vast clear waters.

"An island off of a Greece, my second home."

I blinked, watching him take a few sips. "So why stay with people?"

He shrugged, "I can't be predictable, ya know?" He smirked, walking off to the bedroom. "Sorry, there's only one room here too unless you want to sleep on the couch."

"That's sounds like a cheesy pick up line." I groaned, taking a sip from the glass, really tasting the vodka. I grimaced, fighting to not not dry heave while he was still in the room. How could this guy drink this stuff? "But I call the bed." I turned halfway to him, standing in the bedroom doorway.

"Too bad, I called it."

"Then we're bed mates." I raised a brow. "Just don't touch me when I'm sleeping."

He came back. "Same here." winking at me. "We need to figure what's our plan now."

"If I want to get accepted as the best in Aiden's eyes then of course."

He sat down on the white sofa, settling this drink down on the coffee table. "Did you ever think you are the best but just too good for Aiden and his gang of blood suckers and mixed mutts."

"Watch it." I growled, slowly coming over when he pulled something out from under the coffee table.

"Guy can't say his opinnon, huh? Damn." He snorted, unrolling the paper to reveal a map. He sighed, gesturing me to sit. "I've been looking in time patches for Sin and everytime it feels like I'm a step behind." He tapped a circle in the middle of Italy, glancing up at me as I slowly sat down.

"That's where you've been going when you weren't at the mansion, weren't you?"

"Yes." He nodded, both of us looking over the multiple circles and X's over each of them. "I just feel...not complete without it." He ducked his head down, I nodded, glancing to my drink. Kade suddenly cursed under his breath, glancing through my bangs to see him no longer present but now there was blood drops on the map. I snapped up, his figure dissapear through the bedroom drooway. Settling the drink down, I got up and called after him.

"I'm fine." He called back once I was in the bedroom, peeking in the bathroom and seeing him holding toliet paper up against his nose. Immediately, my head flashed back to what Nolind said. Because if he doesn't, he'll die. I came in, getting his eyes on me. "I said I'm fine."

"No, you're not." I muttered, pushing him backwards to sit on the rim of the bathtub. "No--Nolind said if you didn't find Sin, you..."

He ripped the toliet paper away, sniffling. "I what?"

I huffed, getting a new peice of toliet paper and dabbing his nose, bugging me. "I'd rather not say." I whispered, fighting to not meet those eyes. He shook his head, leaning over and grabbing his head. He was speaking in a different language, muttering it under his breath. I touched his shoulders, feeling through his toasty skin he was trembling. I can't believe I was going to say it, leaning my head back to stare at the ceiling. "...I'm not going to let it happen, Kade. We're going to find it."

There was an awkward pause, making me glanced down right when he groaned low and hugged my waist. I fought my insides to not slap him repeatedly till he let go, growling faint but playing with his hair. If I knew it was so silky soft, I would be playing it a long time ago. "Come, we should stare looking."

He sniffled, nodding against my hip bone. "Alright but this isn't going to be a walk in the park espeacially with two people."

"Try me."

He shuddered, hugging me tighter. "Close you eyes and hold your breath." I did it instantly, feeling the wind wip around me. Loosing grip on Kade, I hugged his neck when a gust nearly tore me away; roaring in my ears. It suddenly got hot around us, then it felt like I was falling. Falling.

Falling.

Falling.

My back suddenly hitting ground first, growling from pain. Yelping from weight landing ontop of me. Grimacing, I opened my to slits to see Kade shake his head to open his eyes on me; growing awkward. He suddenly growled, rolling over and grabbing his wrist as in pain.

"Hey, what's wrong?"

"With Sin, I could easily take both of us but I can't now. It's taking a toll on me." he slowly sat up, rubbing his wrist. He cursed under his breath, squinting and looking around. I touched his arm, brushing the sand off of me. From I could take in, we were on some beach. I slowly got to my feet, helping him up. "What time are we in?"

"A few months ago. You'd be hunting with the rest of the hybrids at this time." He walked, still holding his wrist. I followed after him, closing in on some parkng lot. "We're looking for some person in a black clothes, you really can't miss them. Seriously." He flashed a look over his shoulder.

"Well, how much time do we got?" I quickedned my pace to stay up beside him.

"I don't know." He gave a worried look, "If we want to get back in real time, not long." He sighed sadly, sighting a guy packing his car with his beach beloningings. "We need to get into town."

"Alright."

A hijacking, a couple bites, a murder, dumping, and we were in town. Ignoring my growling stomach since I let Kade have the guy so we could get back to our time, parking the car, he cut the engine and looking down the street of the bustling market. "Alright." He chewed his lip, staring at the sign on the wall of the building about limited parking. "I say an hour tops, I wanna make sure we can get back." He glanced over, blinking. "Least spotting who has it is fucking fanfastic for me, okay?"

"Okay...how's your wirst?"

"Better." He flexed his hand, "Just don't kill anyone."

"Be careful yourself." I got out, shutting the door. Not long before entering the busy market, chanting out what they had and offered up spiky fruit and fish. If I was importing something secred? "Where would I go?" I stopped, glancing down the alleys. I bit my lip, glancing over my shoulder to see Kade was talking to some woman. I pushed forward, walking down the alley where the chatter and chanting quietened down only so little. I stumbled upon a few rats and cats in the dumpsters, hearing a few voices then. I stopped, huddling the corner. I was about to lean around when a hand clasped over my mouth, flinching. I gasped, about to spring into action till blue hair came into eyeveiw. Kade pulled me against him, suddenly hearing foot prints coming closer. He slipped his other hand passed my head and placed it on the brick wall, whispering something in that other language against my head. The figure suddenly walked around, surely the one we wanted. A man in a black cloak, hood up and cloth over his nose and down. I stared deep in to his crystal blue eye as for the other was milky white. He glanced straight at me like he saw us then down the alley. Standing there for a good minute, Kade gripped the wall more till the man turned. My heart lurched, seeing what we wanted upon his back. Sin. The blade was sticking out of its black clothed wrap, it looked different though. The blade that gleamed appeared old and rustic looking as if aged, when the figure dissapeared around the corner, I moved away and turned back to Kade who had a dark look but peeled his hand away from the wall. He growled faintly, grimicing upon his hand. Coming over, I took it in my hands to see his finger tips were bleeding as if pricked. They were healing slower than usual too, he slowly pulled his hand away from mine and gave off a stern look. "I'm fine." He grumbled, walking around the corner. "I just want to get my Sin back."

"Did you see it?" I stopped, making him stop and turn back to me. "That guy had it, Kade. The guy with the different colored eyes. It was on his back."

His eyes widened, balling his hands up into a fist. "You can see him?"

"Yeah, you can't?"

"No, its like someone ripped a peice of paper out but a memory before me. It just whiteness standing before me." He turned back to the alley, "Where'd he go?"

"I don't know but we should get back."

"No, I need to get it back!" He shouted, feeling the wind pick up.

I raised my hands, slowly walking towards him. "Kade, just listen to me. If we stay too long, we can't get back."

"I need to get my Si-." He suddenly stopped, buckling over and grabbing his shoulder. He leaned against the wall, rushing over to him and touching his back. "They're doing it again." He pressed his head against the wall.

"D-doing what?" I muttered, feeling his skin going cold. He growled, knocking his head agaisnt the wall a f ew times till I pushed his back up against the wall. I pried his hand away, flinging it up to grab his hair. I stared in amazement as the blue ink was glowing vibrantly as it slowly came visible along his shoulder, surely causing him pain. He buckled over again, catching him this time. He hugged my waist with good arm, shking his head. "Kade, what's happening?"

His voice was rugged and faint. "They're trying to split us up." I glanced back to his shoulder, seeing it was already down to his elbow like a half a sleeve. I pushed him down to sit, squating down beside him.

"I'll be right back oaky?" I started to get up but he grabbed my wrist, meeting his pained look.

"Where are you going?"

"I'm gonna try to get it back."

He weakly blinked, slowly shaking his head but let go. "Don't be stupid."

I nodded, jogging off. They can't be far. They can't be far, that guy can't move travel that fast. I gulped, glancing over my shoulder to see Kade grabbing his arm again and shouting out in pain. Passing a door, someone shouted something. Sliding to a stop, I glanced over to the wooden door. Clear in broad daylight, it was glowing blue underneath it. Good enough for me. I inhaled a breath, picking up and foot and kicking the door. The door swung open, seeing a group of people all turn to me. Standing around a table, seeing the aged looking Sin. One of them pulled out a stick, suddenly crackling with electricty. "Glad to see you guys again." I huffed, running in. I twirled on my toes to me left, missing the static. Grabbing them by the their collar then jerked them back into some guy who started to run at me from behind. I cartwheeled onto the table, grabbing Sin and flipping off the table. A surge ran through me, screaming and trembling. Pain smashed into the back of head, dropping the staff and falling to the ground. Static crackled not near, rolling off to the side as they "funky beating stick" plunged through the floor boards. Sucking a breath in, I pushed off my finger tips and swung my feet around; knocked their feet out from under them. Grabbing the static stick from the floor and pressed it right it to another's sternum; getting shocked in the shoulder. I screamed, fighting but at the same time was stiffening up. It suddenly stopped, slumping to the floor and twitching everynow and then. Seeing the staff laid not far from me, slowly reaching over. A boot stepped on my wrist, squeaking and baring my teeth. Painfully, I moved my head to see that guy again. He shook his head, leaning over and picking up the staff.

"If he could see you now." He leaned over, grabbby my throat and slowly picking me up. I coughed, grabbing onto his wrist; it was awfully cold that it felt like frost bite at my finger tips. I coughed harder, clamping my eyes shut in pain at the fact my wind pipe was slowly getting crushed. "Next time, I want to see him save his own damn life. " Everything flew passed me, flying out the building literally. Feeling like a rag doll till it came into a halting stop. It was a like train plowed into me; crashing int a wall. The air left me, exhaling then fell to the ground. There was ringing in my ear, laying limp like a corpse. Not even my eyes wanted to move, luckily, seeing the grand show. The guy walked out of the small building, Sin on his back and the others following like nothing even happened. I coughed, winching more from the pain coming to me. I heard my name getting called, lurking from Kade. I coughed a few more times, tasting blood. Something touched my hand, feeling icy cold. A dense growled was over me, slowly glancing up to see Kade. Brushing my hair back from my forehead, "Close your eyes."

I croaked. "What?"

"Just do it, damn it."

I groaned, closing them. Feeling the windswind around us once more. This time falling on somehing soft, I grunted once I hit the pillow, Kade yelling out profanity and growled.

"Whoa..."

My eyes slowly crept open, last person I expected to see standing in the doorway: Alex.
