The place was quiet, slipping in and gently shutting the door. The light suddenly flicked on, revealing a really pissed off Dr. Nolind. Crossing his arms and tapping his black house slipper, I groaned and leaned against the door.

“Well, I see someone finally came home.” He threw his hand toward the penthouse’s wall of glass. “Do you have any idea what time it is?” He continued to scold me as I slipped my jacket off and hung it on the hook.

Dr. Nolind found me on one of his adventures and took me home with him, ever since then, he considers me his daughter….which blows big time. He was short darker tone man with harry potter glasses, always shuffling around in his house slipper. Countless times I reminded him to get real shoes on before he left nearly every day, it felt like sometimes I was the nagging mother in the house. He was a scientist who worked with abnormal or new things, glad he didn’t take me to work. I rather stay in his boring apartment then get stick with needles and sliced open with scalpels all day, besides, I don’t if I would even let any of them do that. I hated when Dr. Nolind touched my shoulder or arm.

I growled under my breath as he followed me to the kitchen and went into the freezer.

“You’re hungry at this time of night? What you do, dance till you’re starving yourself?!”

“Yes, of course.” I groaned, pulling a tub of Oreo ice cream out.

He shook his head, “This is abnormal for well—.” He stopped when we stared at each other.

“What? Not a human?”  I snorted, slamming the ice cream tub down and brushed shoulders as I went over and grabbed a spoon. Slamming the drawer too and slipping into the high bar stool.

He sighed, coasting closer. “Valerie, I didn’t mean it like that.”

“No, no one does.” I snapped at him.

Out of all the people that pissed me off, Dr. Nolinds never reached the moment I wanted to kill him. Which shocked me nearly every day, a lot of people told he got on their nerves and didn’t see how I could deal with him. But really deep down, something stopped me from doing any harm to him. The more I studied him, the more I mellowed to his presence. The way he walked I could tell he had a fractured hip in his adolescent years, and the slight bump in his wrist he got that fractured too. By the deep crease in his forehead, he surely intended his apologetic look. I groaned and tried to ignore his presence but it seemed to press on more, basically screaming at me when he slipped into a barstool off to my right side. My shoulders drooped when my eyes met his.

“Valerie. Seriously…I’m sorry.” He reached his hand out but I with drawled mine to my lap.

I grumbled under my breath, my eyes falling on the tub. “It’s fine…I’m not hungry anymore.” I didn’t even get a nibble nor stick my spoon in, slipping off the stool and returning it into the freezer. I quickly returned the spoon and started out.

“Is it what you did tonight?”

My heart dropped to my stomach, stopping, well more like I couldn’t move. It was like my own cursed self-hugged me so tight I couldn’t breathe, I was waiting for my ribs to break at any moment. My lips somehow instantly went dry, licking them and glancing down at my feet. When the hell did I paint my toe nails green? Where the hell did I get green nail polish? “It—It’s best if you don’t know.” I gulped, closing my eyes.

“Valerie, don’t give me that again.”

A high pitch ringing hit my ears, knowing he turned the TV on in the living room, hearing the news was on. It make my stomach twist and ring out the acid juices of sickness yet my wolf patted me on the back; still getting the sick shiver shot up my spine. The Killer has struck once more, this time, taking in Coast Blanca hotel. Victim was the usual, male and brutally murdererd. Officials are starting to wond-. The high pitch disappeared, seeing the light no longer danced on the wall. I gulped, feeling a tear wanted to get out but I wouldn’t let it. My breath came out shaky.

“Valerie…you have to stop thi-.”

My wolf snarled, whirling around. “You don’t think I know this?!” I yelled at him, catching him flinch and sit up more straight.

One bite. That’s all it takes, a nibble on the neck. You hear the vein pulsing, Val. Oh, I know you can, its beats faster the more you raise your voice. Screaming as loud as you can, making his heart race, make you scared of you. That’s what we need.

“Shut up!” I yelled, grabbing my head and clamping my eyes tight.

“Valerie, calm down.”

“No, you don’t understand!” A hot tear streaked my cheek. “You don’t understand what I’m going through!” I growled deep, forcing my eyes open. One bite Valerie, one big bite to his throat. Yes, I know you feel you throat burn for his blood, I know you want to feel his pulse slow down as you suck his life away. I growled, storming off to my room, slamming the door and locking bot the original and deadbolt.

Pace.

Pace.

Pacing.

Pacing.

“Valerie. Get a hold of yourself.”

This sentence was repeated over a thousand times a night. Sometimes quietly, sometimes out-loud when on the verge of murder. But this wasn’t bad, hell, this wasn’t even a pest. This was just someone tapping on my shoulder every five minutes and whispering hey, want to kill tonight? I always calmed myself down by the simple calm but demanding sentence, I don’t know what I would do if I killed more than 4 four people in one night….

A scream startled me, whirling around to the window. My heart lurched, rather kick started with slight excitement. A scream? Well, let’s go check it out. I groaned from anticipation coming back for me. I growled faint when I heard it again, wondering over to my window to get blinded by JULIA’S BAR  sign. Blocking it with my hand, I looked down in the alley. Seeing a guy stumbling over the place while a girl was leaned up against the brick wall; laughing hysterically too. People always stumbled through this alley way drunk, screaming and laughing.

It pissed me off…

“Val? Valerie? Are you in there?” I heard Dr. Nolind gently voice even from outside, I crouched in the window ledge and gripped onto the wall. Half of me wanted to hear him have a heart  attack if I said I’m about to jump 4 stories down, be right back! But even that got stuck in my burning throating, I heard another scream, snapping my head back. Seeing him grind her into the brick way; sucking tongue. I gripped the brick tighter, hearing it crack as I growled out-loud.

“I’m fine.” I tossed back, slipping off the ledge.

Once more….

Clothes ripped…

Blood splattered…

Destruction…

Everybone broken made my heart thump one pace faster, a blood drop in the air sent my fur bristling. What they saw? A rabid huge ass “dog”. These were city folk, not those who work out in the country. They thought rabbits rabbits were a form of bigger rats and nicers, 3 people have told me but then again they were hot blonde studs that were models. I couldn’t stand this place anymore…

The girl scooted away from, horror all over her face. I shivered from the blood drenching the side of her head, licking my teeth and snapping towards her. She screamed, rolled over and got to her feet. Leaping at her, I sickly watched her face bounced off the pavement. Growling deeper and pressed my paw more into her back.

Here; I’ll put into appropriate kid version of what happens next:

Little kids stomps on his teddy bear in the mid-summer day in the back yard where his father is cooking up good burgers on the grill, mom neatly setting up the table. It’s all good right? Sure! Little stomps on his more, waiting for the cotton to come out but it doesn’t so he gets frustrated, now side note, this is his third bear this week. Nothing wrong with that. Anyways, boy stomps on even more. The black beady eyes keep popping out yet nothing, the boys gets more frustrated. He grabbed its by the head and tears it clean off, he picks up both ends and yells at the sky with pride.

Yes…the boys grows up to be a monster…and an murderer.

I snapped my head down and snorted, seeing blood and flesh everywhere. Stamping my paw in a pool in a blood of blood as it gushed from the headless corpse, slowly wandering over. Steps provoked me to stop and stiffen, looking down the alley. In the dense heat escaping from a vent, in the ghastly fog, it was a movie seen coming to life. A masculine silhouette standing there, arms raising to cross each other. But he did not freak nor say a word.

Did he even the massacre?

Who would just stand there and watch?

I growled and lowered my head slowly, picking up the dead girl by her shoulder. I groaned and turned around to the sidewalk, seeing cars whizzing by but it was the sound that sent me with a rush, it was the hot fuzz. That bastard snitched me out, I dropped the corpse well like…a dead body and whirled around and snarled. I stopped instantly when I no longer saw the silhouette, I stomped my paw and growled.

“Coward.” I flicked my ears back when tires screeched behind me, seeing red and blue lights flew over the alley’s walls. I slowly turned my head around and bared my teeth, “Cowards.” I growled louder, walking toward the cars. One of them backed up but the SUV sat there, walking closer towards it, a car on the other side suddenly opened. Planting my feet and lowering my head, not a human but canine rounded the front barking at me. Cowards!

I grabbed it by the neck and thrashed around till it became a rag doll in my mouth, clamping down tighter hearing a soft whine. Shaking it harder, throwing it at the wall when a door shut, seeing the pile out now.

Maybe there not cowards now.

I growled, feeling a smile crept over my mouth.
