Epilogue

7 years after the last scene:

"Hey, do you know of all of the school's mysteries? An upperclassman of mine told me there used to be only seven but then there was another rumor that went around and suddenly everyone knew about it?"

"Huh? Are you talking about that one with the vampire??"

Naive little children loved to speak of rumors in school. For who were they to know that these rumors fueled the truth of what they could not see.

A smile graced her lips as she passed by the whispering students, who quickly bow to her in greeting before continuing their conversation. Perhaps this was how their old sensei, Tsuchigomori, stayed out and about as a teacher in this school. But as a vampire, she had no need for these rumors. She was an immortal being already.

An immortal being who missed her lover a bit too much.

After those grueling few years in university, Teru became the appointed head of the Minamoto clan; though he hadn't been handed any charge yet as the current head was still living. He and Yumeko kept a steady relationship throughout, though they didn't see each other as often anymore. Between school work and official exorcist shadowing duties, Teru had barely any time for proper sleep.

After graduation, Yumeko had decided to continue her higher education and majored in education. Her brothers had been supportive of the decision though it had been difficult to get their full approval. Not to mention... her official engagement with the Minamoto house heir. How long the two brothers had raged against her decision to staying with the human had been far too long that even to this day, Yumeko swore she could still see them fuming about her decision. But what else was new.

"Kyaa! Did you see the guest who was making his way inside? Do you think he's a new teacher or something?"

"Wow, his blonde hair really sticks out huh? Don't you think he's probably a model or something instead? A foreigner?" A few students were crowding around an open window in curiosity. Their voices gossiping about a mysterious stranger.

"Alright everyone! Let's not make a scene! Go ahead back to your activities." Yumeko had gotten the kids to stop being so fussy around the window. But their words had gotten to her ears. A guest? And one with blonde hair at that... well, that certainly wasn't a common color but could it be Teru or Kou?

Seeing as she wasn't going to be teaching any classes for the next two class periods, Yumeko walked back to the staff room, where only 2 other teachers were at their desk. But someone was waiting at hers.

As she approached them, she placed her hands on his shoulders, "I wasn't expecting to see you until later. Couldn't wait that long?"

Her voice was quiet as to not disturb the others in the room. Teru smiled at her, eyes turning into crescent moons. "Well, what can I say. I missed my lovely vampire too much." His voice murmured softly into her ear, an intimate gesture between the two that had the other occupants of the room blushing pink as they witnessed the scene between two beautiful people.

The two adults stood and left the room, needing to be away from any prying eyes.

"Why are you really here darling?"

Teru's blue eyes bore into her own ruby orbs before he sighed and looked away, an embarrassed pout beginning to grow on his face. They had made their way into the school's courtyard, empty of students who were in class and away from prying ears of the adults.

"You can finally start planning our wedding. Your brothers gave me their final blessing." Ruby eyes widen in surprise before jumping into Teru's awaiting arms. To receive a vampire's final blessing for marriage, he had been serious about staying with her for eternity.

Because the final blessing meant being allowed to come into the family and becoming a vampire. The process itself was simple enough, only needing to consume enough pure vampire blood directly from the source. However, it took time and in some cases did cause pain. To ease this pain, the person would need the blessing of another pure blooded vampire; in this case Yumeko's older brother Luka.

3 years later

Scarlet eyes peered down into ruby orbs. His blonde hair fluttered in the wind as the two overlooked the town. They were currently sitting on a small field, away from the city and away from prying eyes. It hadn't been long that Teru had become a vampire, though it had been 2 years since the wedding now. The silver haired vampire had been worried that the once human exorcist would be a bit stressed over the change in strength but rather than worry, Teru began to train to control his newfound strength.

It was strange to no longer see his beautiful eyes and the only reminders she had were old photographs littered across the Minamoto home. And of course the occasional visits that Kou gave. But she also adored the way his scarlet hues would look at her as though she were the only other being in the world. Teru still held a soft spot for his siblings, that would never change.

The vampire remembered how much Tiara bawled during their wedding, yelling at her to take care of Teru. Kou was not better as he had his face hidden to hide his crocodile tears. Her brothers had taken to staying further away from the crowd of humans but even Yumeko could see the tears burning Yuto's eyes and Luka's frown. They had given their blessings but couldn't fully accept the exorcist yet. No, that would take time.

Of course the vampire couple was close, that was a given. Teru still went to exorcise apparitions here and there. Yumeko had taken a pause from being a teacher for the time being. She had yet to give the news to her beloved but he would know soon enough.

Teru stood from his seated position. He had noticed Yumeko was calmer in recent days. He enjoyed the quiet but he didn't want to misunderstand if he had done something to anger her.

"Teru," he hummed to show he was paying attention, "what do you think about forming a family?" She laced her fingertips together, eyes looking down rather than at him. Forming a family together? One eyebrow raised as he thought of how to answer. He would be happy, of course, but were they ready is something to think about too, right? Wait, if she was asking that... the tips of his ears flushed pink as he knelt down next to the female.

"You mean...?" Hands slowly went to her abdomen as Yumeko meekly nodded. Teru gulped his words before a smile formed on his lips. His hands placed themselves on Yumeko's shoulders before pulling her into a soft embrace. This was certainly not news he was expecting but he welcomed it anyway.

"Thank you for staying by my side. For not letting me be lonely." Yumeko grinned, fangs out on display while tears gathered up on the corner of her eyes. She had been worried Teru might not accept the news wholeheartedly but seeing his reaction, she was so glad. Their small family was about to grow and Yumeko couldn't be more ecstatic about that.

"Remember, I'll stay by your side for eternity. No matter what."

End.
