Cliffing

*Continuing from the chapter "Attack"*

Elsa POV

"He was a completely different person..." I whisper. I was curled up on the grass, my knees pulled up to my chest as I sat like a baby.

I could feel the tears start to run down my cheeks. "He was ready to kill me. He doesn't care about me anymore," I wallow. Lex finally stops sharpening his blade. "You're right. He doesn't care anymore. Get over it," Lex states, beginning to shine his hard black leather boots.

I glare. "Get over it?" I seethe. "He was the love of my life," I retort, holding back from screaming and throwing his freshly shined boot into a mud bath not too far from us.

"Was. He doesn't care about you anymore. He probably even thinks you're dead after what he did to you. You almost didn't survive and took a whole day to recover. Have some dignity. I know it hurts for someone as emotional as you-"

"I'm not emotional!" I interrupt, frowning. He continues to shine his boots unaffected.

"I know it hurts for someone as emotional as you, but you have to be strong. We are most likely being hunted by Pitch right now. It's been a day since we escaped him, and he is finding some way to track us. He won't let us escape," Lex states.

"We could be dead really soon Elsa. This is real. Jack decided to be partners in crime with Pitch, then that's what he decided. Have. Some. Dignity. You've sat here crying for an hour about him. I get it. But you can't be weak anymore," Lex says.

I relax, and lay back on the grass. "You're right... I can't be weak," I acknowlege. "We have to start moving again soon, so prepare yourself for that. I only brought one globe- meaning we have no more escape routes," Lex says.

"Meaning we will be dead if they find us without a strategy," I say. He nods.

Welp.

Jack POV

I watched as the nightmares flew away in the night sky to search for Elsa and Lex. Pitch won't let it go, we won't rest until we find and kill them. We were currently sitting on top of a high cliff.

"So will they report back if they find them, or just kill them on the spot?" I ask.

"They will report back. I want to look him in the eye when I tear his heart out," Pitch says his eyes darkening.

"Did you kill the girl?" He asks me. "Well, I hit her with an energy serge so powerful that she most likely is dead," I explain. Pitch glanced over at me.

"Most likely? Don't tell me you left it to chance," Pitch asks. "I didn't leave it to chance," I reply. Technically I did- but it doesn't matter.

There is suddenly a little racket from below us on ground level. We both look down, and see someone walking, as if they are hiking.

I look closely, and see who it is.

Merida.

She has a small backpack on, she's holding a water bottle, and she looks like she might just pass out.

She settles down, and sits on the ground covered in gravel.

Pitch smirks. "Now we have something fun to do," he says, making me laugh. "Heck yea," I reply. Pitch jumps off the cliff, and I follow behind him.

We both land perfectly, a few feet away from her. She jumps up, and sees us standing there. "Jack? Is that you?" She asks.

I grin, walking towards her. "The one and only," I reply.

She turns her attention towards Pitch, and begins to growl. "You're like him now," she says to me, now looking at both of us with disgust.

"What is a pregnant girl doing all alone in this area? There is nothing here but cliffs and caves. You will die out here," Pitch says, tapping his chin with curiosity.

"I'm able to take care of myself," she replies sharply.

"Mh... but the baby though? You don't have proper food out here. The baby won't get the right nutrients- will probably come out un healthy. Did you think about that?" he asked her.

"Don't worry though. I can help you out," Pitch says. I don't know where he's going with this, but I like it.

He taps her stomach with his finger, and suddenly it starts to grow. She looks down in horror, seeing how her stomach was getting bigger. "What the heck did you do?!" She screeches.

"Oh, all I did was speed up your pregnancy! Now, your baby will come out fine," Pitch says. I chuckle lightly.

That was a bit extra.

"You what?! I'm not ready to give birth now! And not here!!" she shouts. Pitch shrugs. "I don't know what else to do for you," he says.

He then throws a nightmare dagger into the bottom of the cliff, as light rumbling was heard. Merida held unto her stomach tightly, as she began shuffling slightly in pain.

"That cliff is soon going to fall apart, so I really suggest running from this spot, or you will die a painful death," Pitch says.

"I can't run, you know that!" She shouts.

"Oh. Sorry I guess- I'm sure the baby would of been lovely," Pitch states, flying off. I was about to take off after him, but Merida squealed my name. "Jack- Please. My baby," she cries.

I look back at her.

Do I care enough to help her?

I drop a snow globe at my feet, and fly off.

It is a few feet away from where she was laying- and assuming how she would probably go into labor in about three minutes, it would be hard for her to crawl over and grab it.

I mean, if she is strong enough to crawl that far to grab the globe, she deserves to live. If not, it was nice knowing her.
