twenty-two

A.N: sorry i haven't updated in a couple of days. idk something about this part of the book is boring to me, but the boring parts are what build the story for the plot. i lost a lot of motivation to write this chapter because it's a semi-boring one. i'm going to build the rising action from here, be prepared for a few time skips! Also, there is a 18+ moment at the end of the chapter!

Marinette woke up with a groan. The sun was right in her eyes. She sat up a looked around her. Her gaze landed on Adrien. Her Adrien.

"Wakey wakey," She whispered and shook him.

"Mm.." He opened his eyes. "Hi there."

"Hi," Marinette laughed and cupped his cheek and rubbed it with her thumb. "How did you sleep?"

"Well, I was beside you all night, so the answer is automatically fantastic." Adrien smiled and sat up. He gave Marinette a kiss.

"Don't flatter me." She giggled. "We have an important day today.." She frowned.

"Way to kill the mood, spoilsport." Adrien huffed.

"We have to do it anyway." Marinette said, "And I want to do it before my birthday to take off the stress."

"I know, I know.." Adrien muttered. "I just wish I could skip straight to your birthday."

"Yep, me too." Marinette sighed.

She gave Adrien a kiss on the cheek and headed downstairs for breakfast and a shower.

"I wonder how today's going to play out." Plagg flies to Adrien's face.

"I can assure you that it definitely won't be good." Adrien says.

"Well if you learned to control yourself," Plagg scolded, "Then we wouldn't be in this situation in the first place!"

"We? Plagg, your daily routine is wake up, eat cheese, sleep, wake up again, eat more cheese, complain, eat cheese, complain some more, and go back to sleep." Adrien rolled his eyes.

"What's your point? I need my cheese." Plagg crossed his nubs, "And besides, without me, you wouldn't be the ultra-charming and cunning Chat Noir."

"I'm ultra-charming and cunning?" Adrien grinned at Plagg's so-called compliment.

"That's a hard no. You're the only person who calls yourself that." This time, Plagg was the one who rolled his eyes.

"Whatever! I'd look good with any miraculous anyway." Adrien bragged. "Imagine me in the dragon miraculous! I'd practically fall in love with myself."

"Uh, yeah, no. Remember when you turned into...what was it again? Oh yeah, Aspik." Plagg snickered. "You looked like a dumbass!" He practically died with laughter.

"Why don't you shut up and find your Sugarcube." Adrien smirked.

Little did Adrien know, a blushing red kwami was hiding behind her owner's computer.

"I-I.." Plagg stuttered. He knew Tikki could hear him, so he did something any stupid boy would do in order for their feelings to be hidden.

"She's like a sister to me!" He exclaimed. "I've been with her for over 5,000 years! We're like siblings, I'd never get together with Tikki. I only call her Sugarcube to just tease her."

Plagg might as well have thrown arrows into Tikki's heart. Although she didn't feel anything for him, she did care for him and value his opinion. She angrily flew downstairs and into the washroom with Marinette to calm down in the sauna-like atmosphere.

"Whatever you say, Plagg." Adrien sighed and climbed off of Marinette's bed.

At this point in their relationship, Adrien had taken up Marinette's vanity. She didn't use it anyway, and the miracle box was safely hidden in a safe, which was in a hidden compartment in her closet.

Adrien opened the drawers and collected his outfit, as he knew Marinette didn't take long showers when there was something important to do.

As if on cue, Marinette emerged from the trap door. She stepped in her room with a towel on her head and a fluffy robe hugging her body.

"This brings back memories." Adrien grinned at the towel on her head.

"Shut up and go shower already." Marinette blushed and failed to hide her smile. She took the towel off of her head and put it on a hanger.

"Okay, okay." Adrien started to walk to her door. Then, he turned around and said, "Today's going to be alright, Marinette. Don't worry. Whatever happens, I won't ever abandon you or our baby. You got this. We got this. We'll be okay."

"Thank you Adrien." She smiled. "Why the sudden pep talk though?"

"I know when you're stressed, my love." He says soothingly. "I see it in your eyes. I've only been dating you for a month and almost a half but it feels like years in the best way possible. I'm so excited we're having a baby, but I'm also excited for the day I get to marry you."

He said everything a girl wanted to hear. Marinette had nothing to say except, "I love you Adrien."

"I love you Marinette."

Oh how 14-year-old Marinette longed to hear those words.

Adrien walked up to Marinette and kissed her with as much love as possible. He let every ounce of love in his body pour from his lips into hers. Marinette felt sparks in her body and kissed him back with the satisfaction that she was finally with the boy of her dreams. She kissed him like they had limited time left.

Which was true.

~Time skip~

"Are you ready?" Adrien asked. He looked to Marinette, who was beside him at his dining table. They were waiting for his arrival to have lunch and tell him the news.

"Ready as I'll ever be." She sighed. "It's not every day that you get to tell your boyfriend's father, who owns a billion-dollar fashion brand and offered to help with yours, that you're pregnant."

Adrien laughed. "It's not every day that you get to tell your girlfriend's parents, who own the best bakery in the country, that she's pregnant. A lot was at risk."

"A lot was at risk?" Marinette giggled. "How so?"

"Well..the only thing that was at risk was the fact that I may have been banned from the bakery." Adrien shrugged. "And I wouldn't have been able to live with that."

"Why? Because you wouldn't have been able to see me?" Marinette teased.

"Nope." Adrien said bluntly, "I wouldn't have been able to get chocolate-filled croissants."

"And that's the most valuable thing in your life?" Marinette huffed.

"Basically." Adrien said. He was trying his hardest not to laugh at his girlfriend's frustrated expressions.

Marinette scoffed and crossed her arms.

"I'm just kidding babe!" He laughed and took Marinette's hand. He kissed it and said, "You and the baby are the most valuable things in my life."

Marinette blushed.

Suddenly, the doors opened wide and Gabriel Agreste walked in and sat in his chair. Nathalie stood beside his seat with a tablet in her hands.

"Hello you two," He said in his usual robotic tone, "What was so important that you had to schedule a lunch?"

"Well, you see Father, Marinette and I are dating-" Adrien started, but was soon cut off by Gabriel.

"I know." He said.

"How? Considering Adrien's a celebrity, we've kept our relationship private and out of the public." Marinette blurted.

"Except one time." Gabriel said as Nathalie approached them with her tablet.

She showed them an image on Instagram. It was a photo of Marinette and Adrien sitting in a booth at Restaurant David Toutain. Marinette was blushing as Adrien held her hand across the table. The couple gaped at the photo.

"Oh yeah.." Marinette muttered.

"'Oh yeah' is right." Gabriel said. "But I also knew in other ways." Gabriel managed to hide his emerging smile.

"Other ways?" Marinette furrowed her brows.

"Never mind that, Marinette." Adrien said quickly. "How have you been Father?"

"Very stressed with work." Gabriel sighed. This was true, which was why there were very little akuma attacks lately. "I'm doing a collaboration with Audrey, which requires my full attention."

"So I'm assuming you have very little time to have lunch with us." Adrien muttered.

"Unfortunately, yes, which is also why I require you to tell me the news you've wanted to tell me." Gabriel said. He saw Adrien's confused expression, and he knew his son wanted to know how he knew they had news.

"You're my son, Adrien, but you're more your mother's son. I can read you both like I can read a children's book."

"Well then.." Adrien sighed and looked at Marinette. She nodded for him to go on. Her nails started to dig into her palms.

Adrien had a feeling her anxiety was getting bad, so he reached under the table, smoothed out her palm, and held her hand.

"We're expecting." He said with no expression on his face.

"A baby." Adrien said again. "We're expecting a baby."

Nothing. Gabriel just stared at Adrien.

Marinette looked down shamefully. The silence was ringing in her ears. She squeezed Adrien's hand, which her rubbed soothingly with his thumb.

"I'd better give you some privacy-" Nathalie started to walk to the door, but Gabriel put his hand up, signaling her to stop.

"No need, Nathalie." Gabriel hissed. He looked at Adrien.

"How the hell could you go and knock up a baker's daughter at seventeen years old?" Gabriel growled. "I told you it was alright to date her, not to conceive a baby!"

"I know you're upset, Mr. Agreste." Marinette gulped. "But I can assure you, we've already planned out how we're going to take care of our baby."

"You're actually keeping it?" Gabriel asked. Then he laughed mockingly. "There's no way you both can possibly take care of it. Adrien's a lazy brat, and your parents don't make enough income. Besides, I won't allow you to do keep-"

"We're not asking for your permission, Father." Adrien interrupted. "We just came here to share the news."

"Well the news has been shared. You may leave now." Gabriel snarled.

"Really? That's it?" Marinette started to get aggravated. "Out of all the words you've said, none of them were nice! I understand we were incredibly irresponsible, and we've taken full responsibility and are facing the consequences, but Adrien's your son! I don't care if you don't approve of me and the fact that I'm a baker's daughter, but you can at least show Adrien that you're his father and you're always going to be here for him! You practically ripped out his heart and spat on it!

"You're so caught up in your work and grieving your wife that you're not realizing that you're slowly losing your son! You didn't even know that I've been pregnant for a month and a half! You didn't know that I've been coming over to your house and that he's always at mine!"

"Anyway," Marinette started to shout a long while ago. "This baby is your grandchild, whether you like it or not! So you better start acting like an adult like the rest of us, or this is the last time you get to even hear of it!"

Marinette stood up and grabbed her purse. Adrien stood up with her and she took his hand.

"Have a good day, Gabriel. Call me when you grow the hell up." Marinette stormed out of the room with Adrien not far behind.

She walked right out of the house without looking back. They walked to Marinette's home, which wasn't far. The couple said nothing to each other on their way back.

Marinette entered her home using the building entrance instead of the bakery's. She didn't want to face her parents. She walked all the way up to her room with Adrien and laid down on her bed.

Adrien sighed and laid down beside her. They shifted, and Marinette's head was on his chest and his arm was wrapped around her.

"I'm sorry for going off on your father like that, Adrien." She said slowly. "And I'm sorry for speaking on your behalf-"

"You said everything I've been wanting to say for the past four years." He smiled. "You don't have to apologize for anything, I told you that. I think you handled that perfectly, my father had it coming to him."

"Really?" Marinette lifted her head and looked at him.

"Really." He grinned at kissed her. Then his phone pinged.

He unlocked it, and held it at an angle where Marinette could see it.

He went to his email and saw it was from Paris University. He hesitated, then opened the email. The couple read it silently.

"Holy shit!" Marinette quickly sat up. "You got in!"

"I got in?" Adrien asked with disbelief. He already read the email, but he read it again to make sure. Then, he exclaimed, "I got in!"

Marinette squealed and hugged Adrien as tight as she could.

"I'm so proud of you!" She exclaimed.

"Wait!" Adrien said. "Check yours! Check your email! You applied there too, right?"

"Yeah!" Marinette rushed down her bed and went on her email. She received one too.

"I.." She said as she read the email. Then she finished reading and exclaimed, "got in! I got in too!"

"We're going to the same university?" Adrien exclaimed.

"We're going to the same university!" Marinette squealed and they hugged again.

Suddenly, Marinette pulled away.

"This will be great for us! And the baby!" She smiled. "We have to tell Mom and Papa!"

Adrien nodded and the teens ran down the stairs with goofy smiles plastered on their faces.

"Mom! Dad!" Adrien shouted with glee as they entered the bakery.

"Hi you two! Is everything okay?" Sabine asked.

"More than okay! We got into Paris University!" Marinette exclaimed.

They were showered with hugs and love by Sabine and Tom. Adrien felt ecstatic with the amount of joy and love they showed towards him.

Eventually, the couple left and they stayed in the apartment for the day. They felt exhausted with everything surrounding them, and were preparing for the doctor's visit Sabine scheduled for Marinette, which was tomorrow.

~Time skip~

Adrien exhaled and let his naked body drop to Marinette's side.

They were breathing heavily from their recent...activities.

"I love you Marinette." He said between breaths.

"I love you Adrien." She breathed.

"Also, heads up," She said between breaths again, "I looked up some pregnancy symptoms, and guess what? My libido will be very high from now on."

"Your lip-a-what?" Adrien furrowed his eyebrows and turned his head to face her.

"This," She pointed to their naked bodies, "Will happen much much more."

"Oh?" Adrien grinned, "You mean I get to do this more?"

Adrien put his hands down into Marinette's heat and started to rub in circular motions, earning a moan from her.

"Yes," She moaned. "Please. Do it more."

"Whatever you want, Princess." He grinned and moved his mouth down to her heat. "I'm looking forward to it." And he buried his face into her and started a second round.
