one

Message from author: Hello! I've completed this book and I'm currently writing the second one. The first few chapters are literal dookie but I promise it gets better, just hang in there!

"Marinette, wake up!"
...
"Marinette, you have to get up!"
...
"Marinette?"
...
"Marinette, please wake up!"
...
"Marinette, you're going to be late for school!"

"Five more minutes, Tikki." Marinette yawns.

"No, Marinette," Tikki says with anxiety, "It's already 8-o-clock"
"WHAT?" Marinette jerks up and attempts to get up. She gets caught in her blanket and goes face forward into the ground.
Tikki giggles. "Good morning, Marinette."
Marinette groans. "Good morning, my dear Tikki."
"It's Friday, Marinette! Tomorrow you get to sleep in. Just one more day to go!"
"You're in a good mood," Marinette teases Tikki. "But you're right."

Marinette untangled herself from her blanket and makes her bed. She heads towards the bathroom where she sleepily brushes her teeth.
"Gee, when will Mr. Ramier give us a break? I feel so bad for him but there's only so many times that someone can get akumatized. Doesn't Hawk Moth ever get tired of turning him into Mr. Pigeon?"
"Give him a break" Tikki says reassuringly, "It's not easy being a pigeon lover." They both giggle.
Marinette washes her face and goes back to her room. She wears her usual outfit - a dark gray blazer rolled up at the sleeves that are lined in white with pink polka dots and black trimming. Underneath, Marinette wears a white t-shirt with black stitching and a design below the collar. The design itself has pink flowers and black leaves. She wears rolled up pink pants with the inside lined in white with pink polka dots as well. She looks in her mirror to check and see if she has her earrings on. There are serious consequences if she doesn't have them on. Marinette spots the earrings in her ear lobes and makes her way downstairs. She puts on her purse and opens it so Tikki can go inside. After Tikki goes in, she snaps it shut.

She puts on her light pink flats with red soles that adorn her feet.
"Have a great day at school, Marinette." Her dad says with his wife beside him.
"Have a good day today, dad" Marinette gives her dad a peck on the cheek and moves to her mom. "You too, mom." She gives her a peck on the cheek and smiles on her way out.

"Okay Tikki," Marinette says excitedly, "Gabriel Agreste has set up a meeting for me to design a new piece for Adrien!"
"Really?" Tikki says with the same amount of excitement, "I'm so proud of you, Marinette! When is the meeting?"
"This upcoming Sunday." She says proudly as she's walking across the street.
"As in..the day Adrien doesn't have fencing or Chinese lessons?" Tikki responds.
Marinette's face freezes.
"What, how can that be right?" She starts to panic. She opens her phone to check his schedule. 'Sunday - Free Day' her phone reads.

Marinette gasps. "Oh no, Tikki, if Adrien has a free day on Sunday and if Sunday is my meeting with Gabriel Agreste and Gabriel Agreste is Adrien's father and Adrien's father is Gabriel Agreste and Gabriel Agreste and Adrien live in the same house which means-" She gasps for air. "ADRIEN WILL BE THERE!"

"Well, I mean yeah, he will." Tikki says with confusion.
"You don't understand, Tikki!" Marinette goes into full panic mode. "What if I completely mess up? I'm going to mess up my words or trip on something and Adrien's going to be there and see it all! We aren't going to get married or grow old together or have 3 kids or our pet hamster! My life is doomed!"

Marinette makes the mistake of panicking and closing her eyes. She trips over her feet and falls face forward into the sidewalk. She checks her phone '8:30' it reads. She groans. "Now I'm going to be late to school for sure." Tikki is about to say some comforting words when-

"Hey Marinette!" Someone calls from beside her. Marinette turns her head.
"A-Adrien!" She stutters, "What a happy morning! I mean, morning to see you! I mean, no! I mean, I'm happy to see you but...good morning?"
"Good morning," He smiles down at her. Marinette remembers she's still on the ground so she scrambles to her feet.
"Well um.. I-I'll see you at school." She says.
"Wait!" Adrien says a little too quickly, "Why don't we give you a ride to school?" Adrien motions to his bodyguard, who nods. "You'll be late if you keep walking."
"Uh, are you sure?" Marinette says with uncertainty.
"Yeah, of course! Anything for you." Adrien takes her school bag and opens the car door for her. Marinette smiles and gets in the car. As soon as she gets in the car her face turns bright red as she processes what happened.

Adrien gets in the car beside her.
"It's okay if we take my friend Marinette to school, right?" He asks his bodyguard. His bodyguard nods.
"S-so.." Marinette blushes, "What were you doing in my area on your way to school? We live on different sides of school."
"Actually," Adrien scratches the back of his head, "I was looking for you."

Marinette's body starts to heat up.
"M-me?" She spits out, "Why would you look for me? Not that I don't want you to look for me. But I also don't don't want you looking for me. You know? Like you can look for me if you want and it's okay."
Adrien has a confused face on. He shakes his head.
"I get what you're saying, Marinette." He laughs, "I wanted to know if you would like to hang out."
"H-hang out??"
"Yeah, after Sunday," Adrien starts to stutter, "W-well not after Sunday. Like, on Sunday but after your meeting with my father, you know?"

"Yeah," Marinette smiles, "I'd really like that, Adrien."
"Really?" His eyes grow wide, "You would?"
"Yeah, I would." She smiles even bigger.
They didn't see it, but Adrien's bodyguard looks in the rear view mirror and smiles.
"Well where would you like to go?" Adrien adjusts his body so their knees are touching.
"How about Andre's Ice Cream?"
"Perfect." Adrien says and puts his hand on her knee. "You're coming for the meeting at 11am, right?"
"Yup," Marinette says with excitement, "I cant wait!"

"I'm sure my dad will love your ideas, Marinette."
"You think so?" Her eyes grow soft.
"Of course," Adrien says, "Who wouldn't love you- I mean your ideas! Your ideas are great. You're great."
Marinette blinks twice. 'Did he just say that?' she thinks.

"Thank you," She looks down and blushes, "So how about we go at 1-o-clock?"
"Sounds great." Adrien says. He looks up. "Oh, we're here."

Adrien's bodyguard pulls the car up to the front of the school.
"Hold on," Adrien says. He grabs Marinette's backpack and gets out of the car. He runs to her side of the car. Adrien grins and opens the door for her.
"Thank you," Marinette says as she gets out of the car and receives her bag from Adrien. "Have a great day, Adrien." She closes her eyes and puckers her lips. She holds his face and gives him a peck on his right cheek. She rubs his face afterwards and walks away waving.
Adrien stands there with shock. He musters a wave "Have a great day, Mar-Mar.." His hand drops.

As Marinette walks up the stairs she can hear Chloé saying "Ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous!" She giggles.

"Girl, you have some explaining to do!" Alya says as she walks up to Marinette.
"U-uh what?" Marinette panics.
"Uh, hello!" Alya waves her arms around. "You just got out of a car with Adrien Agreste, kissed him on the cheek, and pissed off Chloé. Not to mention he was so googly-eyed when you walked away from him. He still is now!" Alya points behind Marinette.
Marinette turns around and sees Adrien and Nino. Nino is talking to Adrien but Adrien keeps looking to Marinette with soft eyes.
"Okay okay," Marinette turns back to Alya, "I'll tell you."
"You didn't even have a choice, girl." Alya laughs and links her arm with Marinette's. They walk to Ms.Bustier's classroom. As they're walking, Marinette explains her morning to Alya.

When they enter the classroom, Marinette finds Chloé storming right up to her.
"You" She snarls. "Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Stay away from Adrien."
"And why would I do that?"
"B-because," Chloé looks appalled, "He's mine!"
"Chloé, if Adrien really wanted you, wouldn't he have asked you out by now?"
"Whatever." Chloe walks to her seat.
"Damn, Marinette." Alya says with impression.
"I'm not going to let anyone bother me today," Marinette says with dignity. "Not even Chloé!"
"Hello, everyone!" A voice says from behind them. Alya and Marinette turn around.
"Hi Lila," Alya greets her, "How was your surgery?"
"It was great!" Lila boomed, "I'm so sorry I couldn't make it to school for the past two weeks, I was in so much pain!"
"I'm sorry, what did you get surgery for, again?" Marinette asked.
"Marinette." Alya hissed.
"It's fine, Alya. Lila replied, "I got a surgery for my forearm. Didn't you hear? A bear attacked me and bit me while I was trying to protect a deer!"
At this point, everyone, including Ms. Bustier, crowded around the three of them.
"Bears don't even eat deer," Marinette snapped.
"Alright girls, that's enough." Ms. Bustier clapped her hands. "Welcome back, Lila. I'm so happy to hear that you've recovered successfully. Everyone head to your seats."
Everyone made way to their seats.
"Actually Ms. Bustier," Lila hesitated, "I, um, haven't recovered completely. My doctor says I'm unable to write! He says I need someone to do it for me or else I can cause damage to my arm."
"Oh, well we don't want that." Ms. Bustier considered, "Marinette, why don't you assist Lila until she gets better?"
"Me?" Marinette whined.
"Ms. Bustier," Lila said cautiously, "I wouldn't want to bother Marinette. Adrien and I are very close, and he helps me with my school work often. Can he assist me?"
"Of course, Lila." Ms.Bustier assured her.
Marinette growled.
"But where will I sit?" Nino asked. "I sit next to Adrien, so if Lila is going to be there, then where will I go?"
"Uh-" Ms. Bustier attempts to speak.
"You can sit next to Alya, of course!" Lila said innocently, "Marinette can sit in the back. You wouldn't mind that, would you, Marinette?"
"No." Marinette sighs and makes her way to the back of the class.
By the time everyone sits down, Adrien walks in right when the bell rings.
"Adrieeeen!" Lila waves at him. "I've saved you a seat! You're going to be helping me with my writing today."
"Your writing?" Adrien's eyes dart from Lila to Marinette (who is glaring at Lila).
"Yeah!" Lila says, "Didn't you hear? I got attacked by a bear and now I can't write. It's terrible!"
"Oh no," Adrien is still looking at Marinette, who is now searching in her bag for her school iPad.
"Ms. Bustier," Adrien says, "Is it okay if I sit back there?" Adrien points to Marinette.
"Aren't you going to help me, Adrien?" Lila asks.
"Ugh, sit here Adrikins!" Chloé motions for Adrien to sit next to her. "Sabrina is 'sick' so I have absolutely nobody today!"
"Well maybe you and Lila can work together, Chloé." Ms. Bustier says. "I highly doubt Marinette will be able to see from the back of the class. Lila, why don't you move to Chloé so that way Adrien and Marinette can sit in front of Alya and Nino?"
Lila groans and puts a smile on her face. "Of course, Ms. Bustier."
Chloé quickly takes her gum and puts in on the seat beside her. Lila sits right on it.
"Come over here, Marinette!" Adrien says across the room.
Marinette smiles and sits in Nino's usual seat. Adrien sits next to her and smiles.

As class goes by, Marinette grows more tired. So does Adrien. Saving Paris isn't easy.
Marinette eventually falls asleep on Adrien's shoulder. Adrien smiles and puts his arm around her. He fights his urge to sleep because he doesn't want to hurt her. Ms. Bustier smiles at them.
