VII

While Ganondorf was humming quietly to himself whilst staring at the flickering fire in the large fireplace, a burly-looking woman with snow white hair walked into the room and sat down in one of the empty red velvet chairs.

He halted his humming, and sat up a bit. The Gerudo leader stared at the woman, expecting her to speak.

She cleared her throat, looking at Ganondorf.

"Hmm?" Ganondorf mumbled.

The woman clasped her hands together, putting them in her lap as she took a deep breath. "You must be the Gerudo man that the castle's front guards informed me about."

Ganondorf was hesitant for a moment, before nodding in approval of her statement.

"What is your name?" she asked.

"Oh, um, I'm Ganondorf...Dragmire," he answered.

Her eyes widened for a moment. His name was identical to the evil man who tried to take over Hyrule centuries ago. Was he the same one? She had heard that this evil being was a Gerudo, but was sealed away in the Sacred Realm, thanks to the Hero of Time. He couldn't possibly be the very same Ganondorf Dragmire, could he?

"Nice to meet you, Ganondorf. I am Impa, Zelda's nursemaid. I've been watching over her and taking care of her ever since...her mother's passing," Impa mumbled, then smiled to try and brush away that particular topic.

"Now, why do you need to speak with the Princess?" Impa asked.

Ganondorf made an 'ooh' sound, and grabbed the wrapped up Gerudo Sword that was lying next to him on the couch, showing it to the nursemaid. "I've come to...present this sword that we, the Gerudo's, crafted for Hyrule..."

Impa raised an eyebrow.

"To show peace. Everybody knows of the Hylian and Gerudo rivalry that's been going on for...Hylia only knows...and we wanted to try and say 'sorry' for whatever we did in the past. So this finely crafted sword, crafted by the greatest blacksmith in our village, is to show our sign of peace," Ganondorf explained, before stopping to clear his throat. "I'd like to present this sword to the Princess personally, or the King...either is fine, just someone of royalty."

Impa nodded, and closed her eyes. "Her majesty is meeting with someone right now, so I do not think she is available to speak with at this moment. And, the King isn't available right now, I know for a fact. He has paperwork to do."

Ganondorf nodded, and leaned back a bit on the velvet couch.

"Would you like me to see if Princess Zelda is available to speak with you?" Impa asked. "She might be done with her meeting by now."

The Gerudo leader nodded. "Yes, please. Thank you very much."

Impa nodded, and stood up. "You're welcome. I will be back in a few moments."

With that, the nursemaid made her way out of the room, and down the long hallways and up the winding stairs that led to Princess Zelda's chambers.

--

Zelda sat back down in her throne, giggling quite mischievously with her brows creased.

"I knew you'd be one not to decline!" she boasted, and waved her hand up. "Now, leave my presence. Sarge will show you to your quarters."

"M-my quarters?" Link questioned, earning a disgusted eye roll from the princess.

"Yes, your quarters," she answered with a heaving sigh. "You know, the place where you will be sleeping."

Link finally caught on, and stood up. "O-oh. Sorry for my inconvenience."

Suddenly, a guard walked into Zelda's chambers, and hurriedly ran up to Link and Zelda. Zelda gasped at his presence.

"There you are, Sarge! You're late...as always," she muttered, as a smirk grew on her thin lips. "Would you like to know what your punishment is?"

Sarge cowered. "N-no...your majesty."

Zelda laughed gleefully, before calming down and sighing. She rested her elbow on the armrest of her throne, her hand supporting her chin. "Consider yourself lucky this time, Sarge. I'm feeling nice right now!"

Link looked at the poor guard, and then back at Zelda. "Th-thank you for speaking with me, your majesty," he said with a bow.

Zelda smirked. "No! Thank you for speaking with me!"

She sat up, and leaned close to Link's ear so that only he could hear what she was about to say.

"Come by my office at exactly one o'clock pm tomorrow...we will discuss our plan there, and begin to put it into action," she whispered, then came back up and sat back down in her throne.

The princess waved her hand in a shooing motion, signaling for Sarge to depart with Link and show him his quarters. After a few moments of shooing, Sarge finally caught on and gestured for Link to follow him.

Link did as told, and hurriedly escaped out of that room with Sarge leading the way.

Once out, Link breathed out a breath he didn't even know he had been holding, and sighed.

Sarge looked at Link once, then looked away, then looked back at Link. "How....how was your meeting with her majesty?"

Link was somewhat dumbfounded at what had just happened, but at the same time the things she spoke of to him were now deeply engraved into his mind. He looked over at Sarge, and shrugged.

"I-it was alright, I suppose," he answered coolly.

"D-did she do anything vile to you?" Sarge asked, suddenly interested in what went down in there not too long ago.

"No...thankfully," Link heaved.

"Oh," Sarge mumbled.

Silence was thick around them, until they finally made their way to Link's quarters, which was three floors from Zelda's office, which Sarge gladly offered to show Link since he requested to know where it was.

Sarge opened the door to his room, and walked inside, grabbing a key that was hung by a nail on the wall. He handed said key to Link, and exited the room.

Link looked at Sarge in confusion, as Sarge sighed.

"Here's your room, that's the key to get into your room. Breakfast will be served to you at nine o'clock, so please wake up before then to unlock your door if you do choose to lock it during the night," Sarge explained, then began to walk off. "Enjoy your stay here..."

The blonde sighed, and walked inside his new quarters, shutting the door and locking it behind him.

It wasn't a grand room, but it was certainly more refined than his previous room.

The walls were adorned with a dark blue wallpaper, with fancy designs on it. Some pictures of scenery in Hyrule or animals were hung on these walls, their borders a fancy gold bust. The bed that was in the center of the room and against the wall was a queen-sized bed, covered in pure white sheets and a curly pattern on the blanket.

It was a beautiful room, but Link knew it was only standard to those who lived in this castle. But to him, it was absolutely grand.

He smiled for once this day, but that smile quickly disappeared when Princess Zelda's words returned to haunt his mind.

He was going to have to kill someone innocent within the next few days. That would make him something that he vowed to never become.

A murderer.

"Your majesty, you have another guest that would like to speak with you," Impa informed the Princess, who was lazily sitting in her throne.

She sighed. "Impa, I'm tired. I don't feel like talking to them."

Impa stared at the princess astonished. "But...your majesty...it is something important-"

Zelda straightened her posture in her throne, and looked at Impa with deadly eyes. "Do I look like I want to even talk to anyone right now? In fact, I don't even want to talk to you. So you can heave your sorry ass out of here before I personally do so."

The white-haired woman was speechless at Zelda's utter rudeness, but it was to be expected. She was usually like this when in a bad mood.

Impa sighed. "You're not always going to get your way, your majesty. This is an order."

"You're a lower class than me, Impa," Zelda spat. "And you even have the bravery to stand up to me...ha, you crack me up."

Impa was getting somewhat furious at the princess's cocky actions. "I will tell your visitor that you are available to speak with."

Zelda groaned. "Gah, you're so annoying sometimes, Impa," she sneered, then shrugged. "But fine, I'll speak to this person. Tell them they have only precious time to speak with me."

Impa bowed to Zelda. "Yes, your majesty."
