III

Princess Zelda had informed to her guards earlier that she wanted to see the trainee in person, and then there proclaim him as her new bodyguard. But she decided that writing a letter and having it delivered to him would save her much more time, and not wear out her legs either.

Silently, the princess wrote the letter in her beautiful cursive handwriting. Honestly, she wasn't going to be too sweet on him in this letter, but she didn't want to make him fear anything either. He could grow suspicious, and alert her father, the king.

Alas, she continued to write. She decided maybe making him cower at her words wouldn't be a bad idea. After all, the entire kingdom of Hyrule, including the king even, feared the princess' wrath. Maybe making him fear her even more would force him into doing what she desired the most at the moment.

So she decided then that she will write down in the letter his punishment if he does not partake in the task, or if he doesn't do it in the time span she sat for him.

Once she finished the letter after a remarkable amount of time, she grabbed the nearest envelope and folded the letter, slowly sliding it in the envelope. The princess picked up a circular red item, which sealed the envelopes completely, unless someone opened it of course. It had the Hyrulian Royal Family's crest on it. She pinned it on the envelope, then sat it down on her desk.

She sighed, and stared aimlessly at the ticking grandfather clock in her workroom. It was already dusk, and she did not want to delay any longer in getting the letter sent to the trainee. Picking up a miniature bell on her desk, she rang it repeatedly until a guard walked in the room. It was one of the guards whom guarded the outside of Zelda's workroom.

Zelda handed the letter over to him, looking the guard sternly in the eyes. If looks could kill, he would be long gone by now.

"Take this letter to the trainee," she demanded.

Without hesitation, the guard slowly took the enveloped letter and gave the princess a false smile. "As you wish, your majesty!"

He ran out of the room, closing the door behind him quietly.

Zelda sat back in her velvet adorned chair, smiling devilishly to herself in proudness at her deeds.

"Do not decline my request, trainee," she mumbled.

The Gerudo leader was snoring loudly, not even paying any attention to what was happening around him. Tired of the annoying sounds, the woman driving the cart which Ganondorf was in, snapped her fingers loudly.

It did nothing to stop the Gerudo's snores, so she attempted to try again with a different method. She yelled the leader's name loudly, making Ganondorf snap out of his sleep abruptly.

Ganondorf rubbed his forehead and groaned in agony, eyeing the cart driver in anger. "I was having a nice nap, you know," he grumbled.

The cart driver shrugged, "That's the point. Your snoring is loud and obnoxious, you know."

The Gerudo leader ignored his comment, and instead tried changing the subject of their speech. "What's your name again?"

"Tamira. I am a Gerudo like you," she said. "My apologies for disturbing you; after all, you're the leader of our race."

He shrugged, sitting back in his seat. "It's not a big deal."

Tamira was silent for a moment, before she exchanged a glance at the leader and then looked straight ahead again. "Tell me about how you escaped your unknown prison. Everyone in the village is curious to know why, as I am too."

Again, Ganondorf shrugged, lost at the memory. "I can't remember. I remember bits and pieces of it, but not the whole thing entirely. All that I can see clearly from then was I was enveloped in a white, endless void of...nothing."

The Gerudo woman made a "hmph" sound, seeming slightly interested in his comment. "Maybe you'll regain your lost memories within time."

"Maybe," Ganondorf nodded.

The rest of the ride was silent, Ganondorf taking glances at the Gerudo sword which laid beside himself. He was pondering what would happen when Hyrule saw two Gerudo's coming into their peaceful town. Due to previous conflict in the ancient past of the two races hating each other's blood, Ganondorf was concerned about what their arrival would be like.

Would people fear the two Gerudo's, running as fast as they can away from them in their own cowardliness? Or would they get angry at their arrival, throwing miscellaneous items at them for no reason?

Ganondorf thought that the Hylians should just forget the bloody past, and move on with their lives. Although the Gerudo leader too didn't exactly love the Hylians, he at least wanted to make peace with them for once.

Tamira was the one who snapped Ganondorf out of his daze. "Oy, Ganondorf! Hyrule is ahead."

The Gerudo leader leaned out of the cart to look out the window, and was astonished at the sight. Hyrule had certainly made a lot of improvements from the last time he saw this place. He gave them that, for doing so well in their evolution of the kingdom. This was the kind of village Ganondorf thrived for his Gerudo people to be able to live in.

The Gerudo woman pointed at Hyrule Castle, reminding Ganondorf of the real task at hand. "You're supposed to go to the castle, and explain why you're visiting; the guards will surely let you in, I hope."

Ganondorf nodded, sitting back in the cart.

"And don't try to cause conflict with the Hylians. That'll make everything worse for you," Tamira added. "We still have a while to go before we reach the actual kingdom, though."

"Ah," Ganondorf muttered, and closed his eyes again. "Wake me up when we're there."

Tamira scoffed, flicking the reins once more, making the carriage ride faster to their destination.
