VI

A/N: So I wrote this entire fucking chapter a few hours ago and then I came back and it was deleted. So now I'm writing this entire damn thing all over again.

The original writing of this chapter was wayyy better, but Wattpad likes to screw with everyone so yanno.

Anyways, enjoy.

"I-important matters?" Link stuttered. Sweat dribbled down his face. Silence was thick around them.

"Yes," Zelda stated simply. "Stand up."

Link did as she said, and stood up with shaky legs. Worry was written all over his face, and his pupils were practically shrunk down into tiny balls of blue. Of course he was worried. Here he was standing in Princess Zelda's very presence. He felt chills run down his back.

Already, Link could tell that the Princess of Hyrule was indeed beautiful. He even thought she was gorgeous. But he could already see from the look on her face and the tone of her voice that she was a cruel person on the inside. If what she was about to explain to him next was as vile as the rumors have told Link, he would accept them fully then.

She had a pretty face, but an ugly heart.

"Link Forrester, am I correct?" Zelda said, shifting herself in her throne. "Another trainee training for the Hyrulian Royal Army, yes? It takes a lot of blood and sweat and hard training to get there, you know. Not many are cut out for it."

Link just stared at her, waiting for her to continue her speech. He didn't dare talk unless she told him to, or if it was completely necessary.

"Well, you know me already, I'm assuming. I am Princess Zelda Harkinian XV of the Kingdom of Hyrule."

"Now that these lame introductions are done, I might as well get to the actual point of our meeting," Zelda said with a devilish grin on her pale features.

Link feared the worst from the Princess of Hyrule.

"Now, you know that next year, when I turn eighteen, my coronation to earn the title of the Queen of Hyrule will take place, yes?" she cooed. "Well, let me tell you this: I am not a very patient person. I want the title of Queen now, and do you think I have the time to wait an entire year to get that title? No. I don't. So, I've already devised an excellent plan to claim this title sooner. This is where you come in. I need your help with this."

Why would she need his help? He was just a simple trainee. And why was he even talking to the Princess in the first place? This day really has been crazy, Link thought.

Nonetheless, he stared up at the Princess of Hyrule, who was wearing a sinister smirk on her face. He feared her next words.

"The only other way I can claim the title as Queen and get the crown sooner is if my father passes away. Or I can wait a whole year, which I am not doing," Zelda explained quickly.

Zelda was silent for a few moments, letting the uncomfortable silence in the room envelope Link almost entirely. Then she took a deep breath and finally spoke.

"First of all, congratulations for earning the title as my official new bodyguard. I've watched your skills on the field for a while now, and I must say, you are impressive unlike those other trainees. Consider yourself lucky that you've reached this point in your life, Trainee," Zelda said.

"T-thank you, your majesty," Link stuttered, bowing his head for a brief moment before looking back up at the Princess once more.

"No need to thank me! Thank yourself for being skilled enough to get this far. Most people would be honored to even be in my very presence, Trainee."

Link was assuming that 'Trainee' was some sort of nickname she decided on calling him. Although he disliked being addressed as 'Trainee', if it was what she wanted he'd say nothing against it.

After all, this was Princess Zelda he was dealing with.

"Now, listen to my request to you," Zelda said, clearing her throat to begin speaking.

"As I stated before, I can claim the crown earlier if my father is gone. I could even claim the crown tomorrow, or next week even if this plan goes smoothly," Zelda said with a somewhat menacing voice.

"As my bodyguard, you must follow in everything I order you to do and listen to my every command to you. Say against anything I tell you to do and the punishment is an execution in front of a crowd of people from Castle Town, all gathered to see your miserable death," Zelda said. Her smirk widened.

Link was easily petrified now.

"So, hear out my request and accept it, no matter what. You now know what the punishment is if you don't..."

Zelda was again silent for a few moments, leaving anticipation building up in Link's body. Confusion was swarming throughout his head while a million other thoughts did as well. Where was she even going with this?

She clasped her hands together, and smiled devilishly, her eyes closed.

"I want you to assassinate my father," she stated.

Link's eyes widened at her request.

Kill her own father?! This was madness! The rumors were true. Zelda was a menacing and coldhearted person like everyone said. And she said her request so calmly, as if she didn't even care. Which she didn't. Link's eyes furrowed at the Princess's actions. He wanted so badly to punch her in the face right now. She didn't deserve to walk this planet anymore for her vile actions.

"A-assassinate!? Your own father!?" Link choked out, before shutting himself up quickly. He instantly regretted speaking out so boldly like that in front of the Princess.

"Oh? You're a brave one, aren'tcha?" Zelda cooed. The princess pulled a thin rapier out of a sheath tied to her waist, and pinned it against Link's neck, touching his skin lightly. The blade was so sharp, that it left a nick in Link's neck, allowing blood to ooze out and roll down the skin on his neck.

He didn't dare swallow, in fear his neck would bleed more if he touched that rapier again.

"If you decline my request now, you will be killed right here, right now. Your blood will be stained on the very ground we stand on now," Zelda hissed, her voice menacing and dark.

Link was silent for a few moments, before Zelda pulled her rapier back and shoved it back into her sheath. Link was thankful that the painfulness of the rapier's tip had left his neck.

Zelda leaned in close to Link's face, so close that their noses were almost touching, and she grabbed his chin firmly with her hand.

"What will you do? Accept my request and live, or deny it and die right now?" she cooed.

Link gulped in complete nervousness. What would he do, really?

"Here, I'll explain this plan I have arranged more thoroughly to you to make your decision a little...easier, to decide on," Zelda said with another smirk playing on her lips.

"You'll need to be stealthy for this plan to work out smoothly. And by what I've seen on the trainee fields, you have mastered your quick actions and are very skilled with a sword. So I knew you'd be the perfect man for this job. You'll be doing a sneak attack, so make sure that you complete this task unnoticed by anyone. And if anyone gets to the conclusion that it was you who killed off my father, I can simply tell the castle staff otherwise by blaming it on someone else and having them hung. Simple enough, right?" Zelda explained, still holding Link's chin tightly.

Throwing away lives just like that? She truly was as vile as everyone said. And Link was officially confirming it now.

"So now you're left at two decisions: live or die?" she cooed, a menacing smirk playing on her thin pink lips.

Link was contemplating this decision very hard. He was honestly so petrified right now that he didn't even know what to answer. He didn't want to live with the thought of knowing that he murdered someone. But he also didn't want to die a lame dog's death.

Determination and regret was building up inside of Link. He didn't know what to do at this point.

After a few moments of silence passed between the trainee and the princess, he finally made up his mind and looked the princess in the eyes.

"I accept your request."

A/N: Like I said at the top this chapter had to be rewritten due to Wattpad deleting the other version of the chapter (which was honestly way better in my opinion).

Anyways, this was just a chapter focused on Link and Zelda's meeting. The next one Ganondorf will be in, but so will Link because...eh, you'll just have to wait and find out.

Thank you everyone for all the comments, votes, and the reads, of course! You're all amazing and give me motivation to keep writing this! ^^

Until next time! :3
