Toni POV

"Yo what the fuck are the doctors doing." I yelled. While me and Janet were out in the backyard covering the furniture she passed out, luckily I caught her or she would've hit her head.

"Toni." Janet groaned." Mhm they said they have to run some test. Come sit down." I went over to her sitting on the bed.

"Baby we been for 45 minutes." I brushed her hair out her face.

"Ok but I'm ....."

"Mom!" Taty ran in. "Are you okay? What happened? Where's the doctor." I can tell she's been crying.

"She passed out and we're waiting on the doctor now."

"Well how do you feel? " taty felt over Janet head."cause I watch a lot of greys anatomy and I.."

"Princess I'm fine." Janet grabbed hold of her hand."hi tay tay." Tamar waved.

"Thank you for picking her up." I said.

"You're welcome. So what happened....."

"Okay Mrs Braxton we have your test results. Your blood pressure was very high causing you feel dizzy and faint." Janet scrunched up her face."also congratulations your three weeks pregnant."

"Wh-what" Janet voice cracked.

"Yeah it's totally normal to have high blood pressure in the beginning of your first trimester."

"Ho..."

"What can we do to prevent that?" Taty spoke up.

"Well we start with her diet. Just watch what she eats make sure she keeps her salt intake low." She pulled out a piece of paper writing down everything the doctor said.

"Okay great, me and my mama can definitely make sure she does everything she's supposed to do." Taty spoke. Me and Janet looked at each other in shock.

"Well parents, You are blessed with this one right here." The doctor said."Do you guys want an ultrasound?"

"Yes please." Janet said quietly. I can tell she was nervous.

"I'll be right back." The doctor walked out.

"I'm getting a sibling " taty cheered. I smiled. I looked over at Janet who was looking down at her fingers.

"Babe." I whispered."you okay?" She looked up at me with tears in her eyes.

"No, Im scared."I grabbed a hold of her hand.

"Listen baby, it's okay to be scared but you got this. I know you do. " I kissed her forehead."and I'm gonna be there every step of the way. You got this, we got this." She nodded and smiled. Apart of me was happy but the other part was nervous. I don't think we can take another miscarriage. Taty came over to my side and hugged me.

"I'm gonna be a big sister." She smiled and swayed side to side. The doctor came in with an ultrasound machine.

"Mrs Braxton can you lift your shirt up for me." Janet lifted her shirt so the doctor can put on the gel.

"Mommy can I record?" Taty asked.

"Sure sweetie."

"I see someone is happy to be a sister." Taty nodded and smiled. The doctor moved the wand around her stomach."and here's your baby." I smiled.

"That little tiny thing is the baby?" Taty asked.

"Yeah." The doctor laughed."you guys wanna hear the heartbeat." Janet shook her head yes. The doctor turned up the volume. I smiled as we heard the heartbeat come through.

"Oh my god. Wow." I started to tear up. Taty turned the camera towards me. "Record the baby" she laughed and turned the camera back to the machine.

"I'm gonna print these out and bring you your discharge papers."

"Thank you."the doctor walked out. I looked over at Tamar " And you. Ms big mouth. You bet not say nothing to nobody until we're ready to tell."

"I'm not gonna say nothing." She smiled." I'll sing it. Toni and Janet been getting it on." She sung. I popped her head." I'm playing. I won't tell. Congratulations by the way." She hugged Janet.

"What about me?" I asked.

"What about you."

"No hug for me? I put it there." Janet plucked me And pointed to taty who was on her phone. "Sorry" Tamar came and hugged me.

"But I have to go. See you guys." Just as Tamar left out the nurse came in.

"Okay Mrs Braxton just sign these and you're free to go." She handed Janet a paper to sign along with the ultrasound pictures.

"Taty do you wanna get your hair done on Friday?" Janet asked taty. I was now in the kitchen Cooking baked chicken, mashed potatoes and broccoli.

"Yeah but can I get braids I don't want my hair to sweat out on the court."

"Sure. I'll take you to the shop after you get out of school." Taty sat next to Janet at the island.

"Speaking of school, mom guess who I seen."

"Who?"

"Amanda." She said.

"Oh my god baby that's amazing."

"Yeah she was the sub for Sevyn and cam class."

"Well did you guys exchanged numbers?" I asked.

"Yeah I gave her mine she said she was gonna call me so." Her phone started ringing."oh it's cam. I'll be back." She took off Running upstairs.

"Babe"

"Mhm?"

"Who the hell is Amanda." Clearly Janet knew who she was.

"Oh that's Tanya best friend she left them when tanya went back to Damien and taty hasn't seen her since she was about seven." I nodded.

"So.... Are you feeling better now?" I asked.

"I actually am. I decided to put it in the lords hands and whatever happens, happens." I nodded and pecked her lips. "Thank you."

"No, thank you. " she smiled. "TATY THE FOODS READY. Here you go my love." I handed Janet her plate.

"Okay Cam,  I'll call you when I'm done eating." I handed taty her plate. "Thanks mama."

"You're welcome." I sat across from them on the the other side of the island. "Are you still friends with the other girls? I only hear you talk to cam" I asked.

"Yeah, im still friends with them. We're all friends it's just me and cam are just closer plus Sevyn and Savannah be hooked up on their boo's"

"Do you have a boo?" Janet asked.

"Uh un she too young for a boyfriend."

"Toni she is not too young. We all develop crushes around that age."

"I don't have a boyfriend. I don't even like the boys at that school."

"Good" Janet laughed." None until you're thirty."

"Okay" they laughed but I was dead serious. Even though Im a girl in some sort of way I still know how little niggas think and I'll be damn if they think about my baby that way.

"Oh and don't worry about cleaning up. I'll clean the kitchen cause mommy you need to rest and mama you need to help her rest and only Rest." Taty said.

"Yes ma'am."'

"Good."

Taty POV

"Okay so try this one?" Me and cam were in my living room. Today was our first tutoring session.

"Why is the alphabet in math. This is so dumb." I laughed. " okay I think I can do this." I watched as she try to do the problem. "Is it right?"

"No" we laughed. "But you got the beginning of it. If you get the next one right we can take a break." She sighed.

"Fine." I wrote two more problems down. "You said one."

"Well I lied. Go head solve."

"Your mean." I laughed. "Okay I got this." I watched as she tried, then erased it, then tried again but quickly erased it.

"Take your time cam." I chuckled. She tried again.  I kept an example at the top of the paper for her to follow. I watched as she looked at the example then back at the problem.

"Okay I think I got it." I looked over it.

"You did it. Okay do the next one." She cheered.

"Um I need help." I smiled.

"Okay so  you have a fraction here that is five to the third power divided by five to the sixth power. "

"So we're dividing the exponents."

"Correct. So your base number is the same, so you keep it the same, cause why change it? " she nodded "So we put five here and take your exponents which are three and six. Now when you're dividing exponents you have to subtract, so we subtract three from six."

"So it would be five to the negative third power?"

"Yes. And that would be your single answer if they ask you for a single answer but I ask for an expanded form because that's most likely gonna be on the test. So all you gonna do is take this." I pointed to the single answer." And write 1/5 times, 1/5 times, 1/5  which would give you 1 divided by five to the third power then the fraction form answer would be 1/125."

"Okay. I somewhat get it now. Can we take a break please."  She pouted.

"Sure."

"So if you don't mind me asking how do you know that sub?"

"Oh that's Amanda. My birth mother best friend. Last time I saw her I was seven."

"I thought Mrs Janet was your mom. "

"She is. She just not my birth mother. My birth mom died." She nodded.

"I'm sorry."

"No it's fine."

"Let's talk about something. So how's basketball?"

"It's cool. I'm lowkey ready for it to be over. I be worn out." We giggled.

"Four more games left. It's gonna go by fast."

"That's if we win."

"No you're gonna win. You're a really good player." We stared at each other and smiled.

"Hey, are you girls alright?" Mommy walked in.

"Um yeah we're just taking a break. "

"You guys hungry?"

"I am."I looked at cam.

"No ma'am." She lied.

"Yes she is mom. She's just don't wanna say she hungry." We laughed.

"Okay well I'm craving McDonalds so you guys want any?" I scrunched my face up.

"Mom you can't have that."

"I do believe I'm grown and can eat what I want."

"No you can't. You can't eat that. We can eat the left overs from yesterday." She pouted her face.

"I don't know who worse you or your mama." She walked out closing the door. I laughed.

"Why she can't have McDonalds?"

"Oh I forgot to tell you, My mom is pregnant. But she had high blood pressure so we have to watch what she eat."

"Ouu you're gonna be a big sister. "

"I know I'm so excited. Do you want some of the food my mama made yesterday? She's a good cook so don't worry." We laughed.

"Sure come on."

After eating dinner I helped Cam with finish her homework she actually did it by herself she only needed helped with two problems. She went home a little while ago now I'm in the kitchen eating more leftovers. What can I say I'm a growing teen I need to eat.

My phone started ringing but I didn't recognize the number.

"Hello."

"Hey tootie it's me Mandy."

"Hey Mandy I was waiting for you to call. What you doing?"

"Nothing just got in. How's your day going."

"It's going good I didn't have practice today but I tutor my friend cam and that's pretty much it."

"Practice? Practice for what?"

"Oh I'm on the basketball team. I have a game on Thursday. You wanna come?"

"Sure tootie. I'll be there." It was silent for a bit. "So how is it living with them?"

"I love it here oh and Im bout to be a big sister."

"Mhm.. I mean congratulations."

"Yeah I'm excited I always wanted to be a big sister." Me and Amanda talked for a little while longer until it was time for me to get ready for bed.

"Taty you got your clothes out?" Mommy came in my room. This is apart of my night routine. I get my clothes out, mommy take them, iron them and give them to me in the morning.

"Yeah they're on the dresser."  She grabbed my clothes." Mom is it alright if Amanda comes to the game Thursday ?"

"Yeah I don't see why not?"  She opened my drawer and pulled out some socks I always forget to take them out. "I'll wash your uniform tonight."

"Thank you. I love you."

"I love you too pooh. Night."

"Night."

Janet POV

"Come on hustle hustle." Toni screamed. Today was taty game and everyone was here I still didn't tell them about my pregnancy I'm still trying to get used to it. Don't get me wrong I'm very happy just a little nervous.

"Goodie I'm sleepy." Zaya crawled into my lap.

"The game almost over baby. Look taty team winning." 

"COME ON TAT, DEFENSE." Toni continued to screamed per usual.  I continued to watch the games while rocking zaya.

"Thirty seconds on the clock. Lady wolfs have the ball. Ohhh but Myer grabs the ball. she shoot. she scores." The buzzer went off. " and another win for lady bulldogs." The crowd cheered.

"Oh no." Zaya said and straddled my lap sucking her thumb.I laughed she always get cranky when she's sleepy.

"Come on Pooh we gotta go meet taty in the front." She pouted.

"Aunty tay pick me up." She demanded. Tamar picked her up and walked down the bleachers.

"Now you know she is too big." Erica said.

"So she a baby."

"Y'all spoil her too much." She chuckled.

Walking out to the front we waited with the other parents.

"Hi Mrs Janet." Cam came up to me along with two boys.

"Hey Cam. Everyone this is cam, one of taty friends and...I'm sorry I'm not sure if we met." I looked over at the two boys

"Hi I'm Mason also one of taty friends."

"And I'm Kai your future son in law." I laughed.

"Excuse me?" Toni said.

"And this is Taty mama, Toni."

"I me- mean her friend Kai. Sorry." I chuckled at how nervous Toni made him. Toni dapped them up very harshly. "Wow very firm handshake."  Taty walked up to us.

"Hey guys."

"Hey princess you played go-"

"TOOTIE."

"Who the hell is tootie." Everyone said in sync.

"Tootie is taty." Cam spoke.

"Everyone this is Amanda." We all waved and smiled.

"Hi I'm Janet. " I shook her hand.

"Hello. And you must be Toni." Toni nodded and shook her hand.

"So taty what you wanna do? You wanna go home or out to eat?"

"Can we go out to eat? Ouu mommy can Mandy come?"

"Ye-"

"No it's fine we'll hang out some other time. Nice meeting you guys. Bye tootie I love you." She hugged her but looked directly at me. The hell was that about?

"Love you too."

"Okay well let's go out to eat." We all left out the building.
