The Beautiful Girl (Dawn and Paul)

Some Months Ago

The day was dark with the clouds covering up the sky. It was raining pretty heavily and small puddles of water could be seen everywhere. A certain blue head was walking past the road to reach a library which was just across the road. Her shoes were wet because of the constant pouring and she was struggling to not slip on the road. She was just about to reach the end of the zebra cross but her foot slipped and she was certain that her hair was gonna kiss the ground but almost miraculously it didn't. She looked up to come face to face with a pair of grey eyes.

?? (worried): Hey, You okay there?

Dawn (smiles): Yeah thank you. (slightly blushes)

?? (helps her stand up): Hello my name is Paul. Nice to meet you Miss...?

Dawn (dusts her dress): It's Dawn. And It's nice to meet you too Paul. (smiles)

Paul (looks at the cafe beside the library): It literally is pouring. Let's go to the café over there.

Dawn (walks beside him): Sure let's go.

Paul holds the door for Dawn, allowing her to enter first. They find an empty place beside the window and walk over to sit down there. The waiter comes up to them and gives them their menu. Paul orders a latte along with some plain wafers while Dawn orders a cup of hot chocolate with some cookies. The waiter notes down their order and ask them to wait for some time before leaving.

Dawn (looks at Paul): Well you look a bit different I mean like your clothing style. Are you new here?

Paul (puts his chin on his palm while his elbow rests on the table): Yes I am. I only arrived yesterday. I came from Veilstone City.

Dawn (wide eyes): That's pretty far. Which college you are in?

Paul (chuckles): The Maple's College. And you?

Dawn (smiles): Same. I am from Twinleaf Town. But now I live here in the dorms and some days at my friend's house.

Paul (nods): I see.

Their orders soon arrive and the waiter smiles before wishing them a happy time. He leaves and the duo resume their chat. It was almost surreal how easily they got along. Dawn being the shy girl she is and Paul being an introvert didn't think it is prossible for them to hold such a long conversation with someone they just met. Their little meal finished soon and they both felt a little sad thinking they have to leave soon as the rain just stopped. Dawn gazed at the rainbow while Paul stared at her. He couldn't believe how breathtaking she was. He wanted to stop but he knew he couldn't. His eyes wouldn't leave her face and the fact that she was so real about what she liked and her voice made her even more irresistible.

Dawn (looks at him): Is there something on my face?

He could feel how his hairs on the back stood up and he came back to reality. He faked a cough before holding his empty cup up which made Dawn laugh.

Paul (smiles): No I was just looking behind you. (his mind: What an excuse boy..... now she will think I am a creep)

Dawn (looks back): Oh okay. I guess we should get going as the rain already stopped.

Dawn stood up from her seat even though she wanted to sit there and talk with him all day. But that would be impossible right? So she was about to leave after waving her hand as a bye for him but he held her wrist making her turn back to him.

Paul (looks at her eyes): Ummm... Mind exchanging numbers?

Dawn (smiles): Not at all. Here Mine is xxxxxxxxxx.

Paul (scratches his neck): Thanks and this is mine xxxxxxxxxx.

They both exited the café together knowing that it was indeed fate that made them meet in the first place. That was the first time they felt this spark which they never did with anyone else.

Present Time

Dawn was sitting beside her window while thinking about him while Paul was laying on his bed thinking about her.

Both (in mind): When will the holidays end and I will meet him/her again?
