Chapter 29: Dorms

Mavis' pov

The music was playing, my headphones plugged in, and it was a beautiful day today. Ignoring the fact that I was late, I kept my normal pace and hummed with the music that was currently jamming from my headphone.

Nobody was there when I arrived at my destination, the building of class 1-A. Checking the time with my phone, I shrugged my shoulders. They are probably already in the building, I was 25 minutes late after all.

Just when I pushed one of the exaggerated large doors open, I saw how a couple of my classmates were in a rush. It was chaotic, which was normal for my class. Tail guy using his tail to carry big boxes with him, purple freak searching something hysterically in every corner, Strawberry and cum elbows playing with their quirk, Sonic calling out pikachu because of something and Mina nearly tripping down the stairs.

I was only in the main floor, how does it look on the other floors? Taking off my headphone, I watched a pink skinned girl tripping over her steps, running towards me and not even trying to keep her balance.

"Mavis~" She literally threw herself on me and knocked the oxygen out of my lungs.

"Easy girl... you are going to kill me." Her arms were placed around my neck, closing tightly and preventing me from breathing. If it would have been someone else, I would have thought they were really going in for the kill and I would have removed her arms the very moment she touched me. But this girl just doesn't think.

"I haven't heard from you since we came back from the camp." Her grip loosened and she detached herself from my poor form.

I shrugged my shoulders. "I was planning my death. Do you think someone could throw my flower bouquet to see who would die next?" Her eyes widened.

"That's the best idea I've ever heard. But girl, we have to work on your suicidal thoughts." She poked with a finger my chest and I frowned slightly. "I'm not suicidal. Killing yourself is for the weak minded."

"Sure, Mavis. Whatever you like to believe."

"Morning~" Bubbles cheery voice could be heard from the hall, and I groaned, hiding my face in my pillow. Yesterday, when I was finished with decorating my room, I decided to head to sleep because the tiredness got the best of me. And I forgot to set an alarm.

'Why are they even up yet? We don't have school today? Do we? Ahhh shit we do'

Slowly standing up, out of my bed, I made my way to my little bathroom that I had. We all have a small bathroom which contains a shower, toilet and a sink with a mirror.

After I was ready to head out, I made my way to the dining area. I heard the others chatting happily and loudly while I was descending down the stairs.

"Bakugo!" My eyes widened when I spotted the chihuahua, with a tray of food in his right hand and the other one shoved in his pocket. He was placing his food on a table when he heard me call for him.

I totally forgot about him the last days, only saw the news when he got rescued. He couldn't even process what was going on when I ran towards him, probably thought he did something wrong, that should explain why he held his arms in front of his face. As if to shield himself from me.

I did the same as Mina did yesterday to me, throwing myself on Bakugo with my arms secured around his neck.

His body was tense when I hugged him, lightly pushed back from the impact my body made. His hands in the air, not moving till he processed everything.

"I'm glad you are okay." My voice came out breathlessly, like a whisper almost. He stirred,
"Oi, what are you doing?"
and then pushed me back with his hands, placed on each side of my shoulder.

A smile crept on my lips. "What would I have done if my dearest chihuahua wasn't here anymore?"

He was fuming the next second, but before he could say or do something to me, Kirishima came to his side and slung an arm around Bakugo's shoulder.

"Why don't I get greeted like that?" It was directed towards me, and I shook my head lightly. "You should earn it first, period head."

While the teachers were explaining something about an ultimate move, which we should discover in the next lessons, I was reading 'Glass sword'.

My eyes narrow against the rain, ignoring the sting of each freezing drop. It soaks through my thick winter coat, chilling my fingers and toes. But they do not numb.

I feel everything I must, from the pulsing web beneath my skin to the thing beyond the clouds, beating slowly like a black heart.

It intensifies the more I focus on it, and it seems to bleed. Fingers of static spin from the maelstrom I cannot see, until they tangle into the low rain clouds. The hairs on the back of my neck rise as another storm takes shape, crackling with energy.

A lightning storm. I clench a fist, tightening my grip on what I've created, hoping it resounds.

The first clap of thunder is soft, barely a rumble. A weak bolt follows, touching down in the valley, briefly visible through the mist of snow and rain. The next one is stronger, veining purple and white.-

And of course my phone got snatched away from an all too familiar scarf. "You will get that after school."

My arms stretched on their own, my hands wanting to grab my phone and pull it back, but I knew better. My arms retracted themself to my side and I huffed.

An idea popped in my head after I glanced to my classmates, that were trying to find their ultimate move.

"EYYO DENKI!" He popped his head up after falling to the ground because of a failed attempt of an attack. His face held confusion while I skipped like a child to his side.

"I have an idea for your ultimate move," He propped himself with his hands up and looked up at me with excitement.

"Have you ever tried controlling lightning from the sky? Creating a storm? Or even creating your own weapon with your lightning?" His eyebrows rose while his eyes widened. He stood up abruptly.

"That's the best idea ever!"
'I heard that somewhere...'

"Have I ever told you that I love you?" Pikachu gripped my shoulders and looked me deep into my eyes.

"Thanks Mavis." He gave me a kiss on the cheek and then ran off. I looked after him and shook my head lightly, before turning around and looking back to my other classmates.

'Whom should I help now?'
