Y/n's POV

Me and Sapphire were walking around the village meeting different villagers and finding out more about them. "Hey Sapphire, how about we see if someone here knows how to sew?" I suggested. She nodded, looking up at me from my shirt collar. I started asking around the village to see if someone knew how to sew. "Oh, hello there again. Did you like the fabric you bought from me?" A villager said. I looked back to see the villager we bought the fabric from. "Yeah, but we don't know how to sew and I was going to make it into a scarf for my cat." I said. 

"Oh, my, that sounds a little difficult. How about I help you? Since you're here protecting the village, it's the least I can do." The villager said. I looked at her, smiling about what she said. "My name's Elizabeth, but most everyone calls me Liz. I'll teach you a bit of sewing, at least enough to repair a scarf, and I'll make the first version for your cat." Liz said. I nodded and ran to the house that the villagers are letting us use grabbed the fabric I bought and headed back to Liz's shop. I entered the shop and saw Liz sitting in a chair, I walked over and sat next to her. "Here's the fabric, and my cat Sapphire is a little shy."I said handing the fabric to her. 

"Is there a certain pattern that you'd like?" Liz asked. I nodded and explained to her what a dragon scale looked like. "Alright, now where's your cat so I can make it their size?" Liz asked. I looked down my shirt to see Sapphire looking up at me, I pulled the bottom of my shirt and allowed her to fall out into my arm. "This is my cat Sapphire, she's a wizard like me." I said introducing Sapphire to Liz. Liz pulled something out and started to measure Sapphire, once she finished she patted Sapphire on the head. "You sure are a cute one Sapphire." Liz said.

"T-Thank y-you." Sapphire said. Liz nodded and got right to work on the scarf, we watched as she made the scale pattern the same way I described it. After about thirty minutes Liz finished the scarf and wrapped it around Sapphire's neck. "Alright if you ever need to fix the scarf just buy similar fabric and have someone sew it in." Liz said patting both of us on the head. We thanked her before leaving her shop and heading back home. "Well she was nice and this scarf is super nice." Sapphire said. We spent the next few hours talking about what Sapphire and me could do with magic. When night came we decided it'd be best to stay awake for a little bit just in case something happened. There was a knock on the door before they opened it. "Excuse me but there's someone coming to the village but we can't make out who it is." A villager said. We got up headed out to the gate.

We waited in front of the gate to see who was coming towards us, when the person came into view I saw it was mommy running looking worried. "Y/n get in the gate some people are coming to destory the village." Mommy said. We ran inside and mommy started to make preperations for the people. "Umm mommy I don't know if a pitfall will work." I said. Sapphire nodded in agreement, Daddy and Gray showed up not too long after mommy made the pit. When they walked into the village they fell into the pit. "Come on guys this is no time to be playing pranks on us." Daddy said from the bottom of the pit. I looked over the edge and waved at him. "Hi daddy, I want you to meet Sapphire she's grown while you were gone." I said. He nodded and climbed out of the hole. "Sapphire this is Natsu he's my dad." I said introducing her. She shyly waved at him hiding most of herself in my shirt and behind her scarf.

"Hello, you sure are big for only hatching yesterday." Daddy said. She hid herself more not wanting to be in the crowd. "Wait that's Sapphire?" Mommy said looking at her. Sapphire nodded as I started petting her, I pulled her out of my shirt and set her on the ground next to me. "Y/n, you know I don't like crowds or a lot of people looking at me." Sapphire said. I nodded and patted her on the head again. Mommy and daddy started talking about how daddy got back before the people who were supposed to destory the village. I heard something in the air, but I didn't know what it was. "Daddy do you hear what's in the air?" I asked. Daddy stopped talking and started listening to the air. We looked up and saw a giant rat flying over the village, we watched as the rat threw something out of a bucket it was carrying.

A ball of green stuff fell towards the ground, it was about to touch mommy when daddy tackled her away from the ball. Once it hit the ground, it seemd to melt away. I watched as the rest of the bucket fell towards us. "Everyone to the center of the village!" Daddy yelled. I picked Sapphire up and ran to the center of the village with everyone, as we ran there the village elder said he was staying with his son's grave. I threw Sapphire to mommy and ran over to where the elder was. "Water Dragon Aqua Shield!" I yelled using the water in the air to make a shield around both me and the elder. 

"Y/n!"Mommy yelled as the green stuff landed on us. Once all of it disappeared I fell to my knees trying my best to recover from all the magic I used to protect us. "Y/n you idiot, you could've been killed." Sapphire said flying over to me and hitting my cheek. I started feeling more tired letting my head hit the ground.

Sapphire's POV

"You idiot, that spell should only be used to protect yourself." I said hitting her cheek lightly once more. 

"Is she going to be okay?" Lucy asked walking over to us.

"Yes, the 'Aqua Shield' spell just uses most of her magic energy to gather the water in the air and condense it into a high density liquid allowing her to stop almost anything. The drawbacks are much worse though the pressure the shield creates is hard on her body, along with the magic it uses her body weakens a lot." I explained.

"Wait, you hatched yesterday how do you know so much about Y/n's magic?" Lucy asked me.

"I'm three years old, I've been with you and Y/n for three years. Y/n did say that I was growing all day today though so I guess something happened to me which made me grow up faster and develope memories that I shouldn't have." I said. Lucy nodded before turning to see one of the wizards kick down the elder's sons's grave. "Well that didn't work, we were hoping to end this village without killing you villagers with our own hands." A blue haired guy said.

"Get away from them." Natsu said jumping between us and the people who flew in on the rat. I looked at him standing between us, his fists were clenched and shaking from his own strength. "All the villagers need to evacuate, please head to a safer location." Lucy said. The villagers came over and grabbed the chief before leaving the area. "L-let m-me h-help." Y/n said trying her best to get up.

"No, you need to rest. If you try to fight you'll have to go through me." Natsu said. I crawled up and sat on her head forcing her to lay her head back on the ground. "If you can't even get up with me on your head you can't fight anyone." I said. The girl that flew in got on her rat again and took off, Lucy jumped onto on of the rat's feet. They flew away leaving Natsu to fight two people, I sat on Y/n's head keeping her from getting up and fighting someone. "Sapphire look after Y/n, Happy go see if you can find Lucy and help her." Natsu said. We both nodded, I stayed to look after Y/n while Happy flew off to help Lucy. "I'm sorry I couldn't help her, but she has you now thank you." Natsu said looking at me before turning back to the people in front of him.
