Chapter thirty-nine

Song: Danger incorporated - forever

"Lily, this is amazing," Katy exclaimed as she held up one of the black and white photos that had finished developing. The developing process was still a lot more then I could bare so one of the boys had done it for me, as the whole photography thing was still new to me.

Katy's shoulder-length hair was in a half-up, half-down ponytail, and the black turtle neck that she was wearing seemed to make her cheeks look a less puffy today. I found myself admiring her dark-skinned complexion, she was breathtaking, but in a cute innocent kind of way.

"Really?" I questioned anxiously, they had after all just had been a few photos of some random trees that I had seen yesterday on my walk home. Though It was such a strange feeling when I had noticed the barren trees, I couldn't help but feel the need to capture the lonely branches on the camera.

"You seem to have an eye for photography, these really captivate the trees in such a tragic yet beautiful way," Katy gushed, with a wide smile on her lips, a singular dimple appeared on her left cheek.

God. Why was I so compelled by her innocent demeanor? As much as I wanted to protect her there was a part of me that was begging to take the girls' innocence to swallow her up like black void. This was why I was dangerous for normal people. The need to protect her wasn't strong enough to fight away the urges that I had to damage her. I couldn't help but want to take shiny new toys and rough them up a little.

I let out a deep sigh, "Thank you that means-"

My sentence was cut short as the door to the photography room swung open carelessly, a pair of heels clicked aggressively on the floor caused the attention of everyone towards the door. She looked familiar but then again most of the girls all had just really looked the same. Her honey-colored hair was curly, very curly, with each step I found myself watching her curls bounced. She was wearing a short pink dress with a white purse slung over her body.

"Cam, I thought you weren't joining this year," Katy stuttered out.

"I'm not. I'm here to talk to this bitch," Cam scoffed, though as she spoke spitefully her voice was still so sweet. And her lips were a shade of glossy pink that would make anyone question how they would taste.

Strawberries, she most definitely tasted like strawberries.

"Me?" I questioned in a dumbfounded tone.

"Yes. You are the new bitch right?" Cam questioned again.

I found myself staring at her lips again. She was attractive, really attractive. Her skin was a deep olive tone and her eyes were a vibrant blue. How the hell was she so fucking beautiful.

"I mean, I guess," I answered slowly.

"Cameron!" Nate shouted angrily down the hallway. "I told you to wait until Lily was done."

I cocked my head to the side in confusion at the blonde girl in front of me as a panting Nate was now standing in the doorway of the classroom.

"I'm kind of busy, we should talk later," I spoke softly, feeling the gazes from the rest of the photography class on the back of my head. This was confusing as hell.

"I think you should probably just go, it looks important," Katy spoke up, a disappointed tone lingered in her words, "We will see you tomorrow."

I turned around and everyone instantly looked away from me, great. They had all been waiting for me to bring some sort of drama to the photography class and here it was on our first official meeting. Nate Jacobs was going to get an earful when we were alone.

"Sorry," I muttered bitterly, I picked up my purse that was sitting on one of the vacant desks and slung it over my shoulder hastily.

I walked out of the classroom quickly, completely ignoring the two vermin that had just invaded my personal space, and soured my mood in the matter minutes.

"Lily," Nate called out behind me.

"Leave me alone," I huffed, continuing to walk through the empty school. My own heels now clicking angrily against the tiled floor. A faint clicking sound of heels echoed behind me. Why were they following me when I had told them to leave me alone.

I stepped out of the school and rested up against the brick wall as I dug into my purse for the familiar cardboard box of cigarettes. I pulled it out and opened the pack craving one of the toxic sticks, but to my surprise the pack was empty. Damn, I had been smoking a lot lately.

Dating Nate Jacobs would do that to a person.

"Fuck," I hissed while shoving the pack back into my purse. I brought my hand up to my lips and started to bite on the edge of my thumbnail. I needed a god damn cigarette before I lose my shit.

"Lily," Nate spoke sternly beside me, "don't you dare just walk away from me when I am talking to you."

"Piss off," I moaned, tilting my head to look over at him in a very sassy manner. I was less than impressed to see Cameron still standing beside Nate. A sour look on her face.

"Well you're a vulgar little thing," Cameron sneered, and dug into her white purse and pulled out a pack of smoked, "this what you're looking for?"

"I'm fine," I muttered.

"Just take one you stubborn bitch," Cameron groaned, tossing the pack at me.

I instinctively brought my hands up and caught the pack of smoke in my hands. I held them in my hand for a moment before throwing them out in front of me as far as I possibly could.

"Bitch," I hissed out before walking into the direction of where my parked car was sitting.

"Lily," Nate called out again, "Why the fuck are you acting like this."

I was planning on just leaving, not questioning what Nate was doing with this arrogant bimbo but that was really the final straw.

"Why the fact am I acting like this?" I spat, turning around on my heel, "You barge into my hobby class, get me dismissed, and this chick his calling me a stubborn bitch while you just stand there looking like a damn moron. I told you to leave me the fuck alone Nate."

I blew my bangs out of my face as I pouted angrily in the middle of the parking lot. Why did he always have to push me when I was in a bitter mood.

"I was just planning on introducing you too. Cameron is on the cheer-leading squad and they are interested in recruiting you," Nate admitted, "They heard the other guys talking about how good you would look on the team and they want to give you a shot."

"Fuck that," I hissed, "I ain't joining no bitch squad. Thanks for the invitation but shove it up your ass."

I turned back on my heel and made it almost to my car before Nate gripped my wrist tightly. Spinning me around back to face him. I could see the anger that was sprawled across his face, his jaw clenched tightly.

"Listen to me," Nate hissed through gritted teeth.

"Or what?" I taunted.

Nate flared his nostrils and went to speak before Cameron cut him off.

"How about a buy you a pack of smokes and food?" Cameron offered, "Then will you calm yourself and listen to me bitch?"

"Call me bitch one more time," I hissed, "And I will have you on your knees like the real bitch that you are."

Nate's brow raised in surprise and his lips parted as my sudden remark.

"Would take much to have me on my knees begging," Cameron shrugged her shoulders as she mashed her glossy lips together.

Oh, I like her.

"Fine. But Nate you can't come," I scrunched up my nose in satisfaction and turned back to my car and climbed into the driver's seat. Cameron understood and climbed into the passenger seat.

A/n-

I just want to say again thank you for all your kind words.

As well as please please stay safe and remember to wash your hands and don't touch your face.

Also sorry for such a boring chapter, but I felt like I needed to spice things up with a new mysterious character.  She kind of looks like the photo I added.
